Summary
The rustling sounds closer now than ever, and the trees sway heavily against the desperate winds. And above it all, a chirping noise, unlike anything Jungkook’s heard back in Seoul, unlike anything Yoongi could have heard either if the way he’s folded himself against Jungkook’s chest is any indication.
They should probably try and get higher, move up to the leafy part of the tree, but that will make a lot of noise, and at about four feet off the ground they’re at least somewhat disguised. With Yoongi shaking too much to keep moving, and Jungkook’s own heart beating so loud he’s certain he can hear it echoing through the darkness… this is their best chance.
“On the bright side,” he whispers, clutching back around his hyung, “we’re going to be famous after this.”
If we survive, he doesn’t add.
