"What happened to you?"
"It took you a long time to ask that question." Obito traces the long scar under his right eye.
"I bet it's a good way to fill awkward silences."
Deidara stares at the man next to him, a faint smile on his lips.
"I used to hate my scars. Then everybody started saying they make me look sexy, so I'm starting to think they're right."
"They're right, hm." Obito smiles. Deidara notices the scar that splits his bottom lip. "So, how was it?"
"Climbing accident," Obito says. "I'm lucky to be alive right now. Doctors couldn't believe it."
Deidara starts thinking that probably that talking about scars is a bit of a sensitive subject for a first date with a guy you met on a dating app.
"So, you like climbing? That's a good hobby!"
"I did. Now I just watch videos of people that do."
"It's sad to give up things you enjoy." They stop in front of Deidara's house. "What about trekking, hm?"
"Trekking is okay, I guess," Obito replies, as Deidara takes his keys off his pocket.
"Wanna go trekking for our second date?"
Obito stares at him, smirking a little.
"Well..." He stops lost in his thoughts. Deidara stares at him, a heavy feeling in his gut. "Why not? I'd love to."
Then he takes a deep breath.
"You worried me for a second," Deidara says and takes a step toward Obito.
"You're not used to rejection, are you?" Obito lets out a low giggle.
"No," Deidara replies and kisses him.
Obito wraps his arms around his torso, but not as tight as Deidara would have liked. Maybe next time. When they part, Deidara leaves one last kiss over the scar on his chin.
"Can't wait," Obito whispers.
