"For the last time, I don't care about your sex life!" He hears Kankuro shout.
Tied up inside the puppet, Deidara smirks.
"Also, Tobi is so well-hung. Who would have thought?"
"That is too much information."
"My butt hurt for days the first time we-"
"Shut up!!"
"Release me or I'll keep talking, hm!" Deidara waits for him to keep complaining but Kankuro stays silent. "Hello?"
Deidara looks through one of the cracks but he doesn't see the sky or the full moon anymore. A few seconds later, a white mask appears. Deidara grits his teeth and when the door opens he twists his neck to the opposite side.
"Senpai. I came to save you."
"Go away, hm."
"I thought you wanted to get out," Obito replies.
"I could have done it in my own, hm. I don't need your help, Uchiha."
He feels his gloved hands untie the ropes and take the lightning swords off his body. The wounds start healing straight away.
"Yes, you do."
"No, I don't, hm!" Deidara shouts, crawling out of the wooden barrel. "What are you doing here anyway!?"
"I couldn't let you trapped in there. I was going to send Zetsu, but..."
Deidara crosses his arms.
"Tch. Zetsu would have been a better choice," he spits.
Obito sighs and stares at him in silence.
"Why did you have to tell them, Deidara. About us."
Obito sounds hurt. Deidara is glad he is. He deserves it.
"You've been ignoring me since I got revived! Do you think I care about your feelings!?"
"You've been ignoring me too! Would you have liked if I hugged you in front of Kabuto?!"
"YES!" Deidara shouts. "Fuck Kabuto and fuck you! You coward!"
Obito unties the knot that keeps his new ugly mask in place, then he takes it off. Deidara swallows thickly, staring at that scarred, beautiful face.
"Heh. You want to soften me up, don't you? It's not going to work, you idiot," Deidara lies. "I'm dead."
Obito clenches his fists.
"I can't believe this could be our last conversation and you decide to waste it arguing." Obito retorts. "I wish I never came. I wish I would have sent Zetsu instead."
Even with the Sharingan in one eye and the Rinnegan in the other, Obito manages to look like a kicked puppy. Before he knows, Deidara has crashed his lips against his. Obito kisses him back, all tongue and teeth. Deidara grabs his nape and presses them harder. A low grunt slips out of Obito's mouth. He's missed those arms, he's missed that body warmth so much his body is melting.
For a fleeting moment, Deidara feels alive again.
