Chapter Text
Marinette was just tired.
Tired of being Ladybug
Tired of having to be so nice.
Tired of having no one stay in her corner.
She wasn’t all that surprised after all no one did a thing while Chole tormented her. Not even Nino and Kim did anything regardless of them being childhood friends. Marinette felt foolish for thinking that after Chole stopped tormenting her so much that things would be easier.
Lila Rossi proved her otherwise. Lila was different from Chole, different as in she was able to bring people into her web of lies without the use of waving her fathers name.
She found it a bit comical that the person who was supposed to be her partner left her to the wolves. A person who spouted all about that they were meant to be together and that she would always have him. What a fool she was to believe it. It seemed that Lila was correct that she did lose her king, Adrien Agreste.
When she thought about it more its not all that surprising that Adrien left her. Countless times he shown this behavior but that stupid crush she had on him made her turn the other cheek. Marinette ignored a plentiful amount of red flags but this was what broke the camels back.
It was like any ordinary day, the sun came up, Paris awoke, the birds were singing, and Marinette was running late to school as usual. Overall, nothing was different that morning.
And yet something was different.
Something went wrong.
Something was out of balance.
Something was in the air.
Betrayal.
That was what was in the air.
Why was this despicable thing about?
Adrien Agreste was the cause. He betrayed his partner. While on probation for many reasons, this was the final action he would do while still having Marinette’s trust. The action was to ruin Marinette’s sketchbook with the rest of the class. Her pride and joy, where her pure raw creativity was held, all the countless hours wasted. Designs for the class, for fun, and clients would be destroyed.
And how did Marinette respond to this?
Well like any sane person would after something precious was ruined, she cried. She cried her heart out all while her rotten class yelled back at her. She would grow quiet. She would go into shock. She would feel the rage, bubbling to the surface wanting to overspill. This was pure anger that even Hawkmoth didn’t want to handle, she would be a powerful akuma but she would never be his pawn.
She was done. She gave no care to the yells of the classmates and walked out.
“Seems I need to start rebuilding. Find people who are trustworthy. It’s time to be strong even in my civilian life.”
