Chapter Text
Maybe Onyankopon has won our previous debates. Maybe some superior force is watching over us. The train working was one miracle after the Titan Curse disappearing. But to find survivors up near the coastline?
…I don’t know. I still can’t say it’s a miracle, but it makes me want to believe they exist.
And Muller…where would we be without him? When I told them who we were, those people wanted to throw us off the cliff we found them near rather than speak with us. But Muller stood between us and them; so did Onyankopon. And after I saw all those bodies which had fallen off that cliff…I can understand why they still don’t want to sleep near us. It was like a mountain range and it smelled even when we were miles up high. I thought I’ve seen the most horrific things in life already…but clearly, I’m wrong. They’re opening up more now. The rations we took from the Fort satiated them. Things seem hopeful.
…but more uncomfortably, I grazed Annie’s hand when I was going over plans with Mueller. I didn’t mean to but Reiner may have thought so—he gave me what looked like a glare. I’m not sure if it was…but it felt like it. He still won’t talk to me for too long when we’re alone. It also didn’t help that Connie kept thrusting his index finger through the circle in his opposite hand when I tried to talk to Reiner. To make things worse, Connie isn't exactly sly - Annie saw that disgusting filth.
…as if things aren’t awkward enough between her and I…
