Chapter Text
It’s over. Kara took a deep breath staring at the mirror in her bathroom. She still can’t believe she is standing there. It seems bizarre that after all of the hardships and threats Kara can finally just live.
“Kara, the food’s arrived. Where do you want me to put it?” A soft smile grew on Kara’s face. That was also a thing she didn’t expect. Since she dawned the cape she always had the belief that there was no happy ending for her. Entering the living room and seeing her girlfriend, Lena, holding a tower of pizzas she is overwhelmed with joy that she was proven wrong.
“Just on the counter. I got it.” Kara replied, taking the pizzas away from Lena. “You know I could’ve done that,” Lena said not even putting up a fight. “Yeah, but I’m the one with super strength.”
After setting up the pizzas and drinks the doorbell rang. “Alex!” Kara exclaimed rushing over to the door with a dash of super speed. “Where’s the fire?” Alex joked as she tried not to fall over when the Kryptonian barreled into her. “If there is indeed a fire in the apartment my sensors are not detecting it.” Brainiac joked with a sly grin. “Oh shut up,” Kara replied, moving into her apartment. “Now come in guys the pizzas already here.” She turned to Nia and Kelly “You two better keep these jokers under wraps or I’ll have to employ countermeasures.” Nia and Kelly just nodded knowing that Kara would not follow through with the threat.
“Where’s J’onn and M'gann,” Lena called from the couch. “Sorry, we’re here. Didn’t mean to be late.” J’onn said as he and M’gann entered through the window. “Hey, only I can do that,” Kara said with a pout. “You should have put a sign up,” M’gann replied with a shrug. “Fine, I’ll let it slide this once. Now hug me.” Kara said, opening her arms for a hug.
After the group (mostly Kara) demolished through the pizzas they started playing some games. “We’re gonna beat you,” Kara said confidently as she sat down next to Lena. “Sure, J’onn and M’gann can read minds. I think they’re gonna win.” Alex said in rebuttal. “We’d never do such a thing,” J’onn said with a smirk. “Yeah, your charades scores prove that.” Nia joked back. “Anyway, Lena and I will demolish all of you,” Kara said.
Suddenly the lights flickered and a blue mist appeared. The group stood up ready for a fight. “Woah! Woah! I’m friendly!” A familiar face appeared holding his hands up in surrender. “Mxy? What are you doing here?” Kara asked confused. “Well, a little birdy told me that you have reached a nice milestone and I wanted to give you a present.”
“What does this present entitle?” Kara asked concerned what this being of chaos would come up with. “Glad you asked,” Myx replied snapping his fingers. The superfriends suddenly found themselves sitting in a theater looking at a screen with the symbol of the House of El on it. “I thought what better to celebrate an accomplishment than watching what lead to it,” Mxy said with a grin. “I can’t let you go into the past like last time, unfortunately. Got in trouble with the Time Bureau.” Everyone turned to Kara. “Don’t worry about it,” Kara replied fast. Mxy waved his hand. “Yeah, you’ll see it when it comes up. Now let’s start this show.”
Kara raised her hands. “Wait, so we are just going to watch what happened? How is that going to be any different than us experiencing it?” Mxy scoffed as if it was an obvious question. “Easy we aren’t just going to see from your perspective but villains and allies alike.” Brainiac seemed interested. “That would be interesting to see their perspective. I would like to see it.” Nia nodded in agreement. “Yeah, and being newer it would be cool to see how the team was like before I joined.”
“I’d honestly be interested too.” Alex joined in. Kara looked around and saw how almost everyone seemed to agree. “I guess I would like to see it also. If everyone else is good with it let’s see it.” Kara said relaxing into her chair.
“Excellent,” Mxy said clapping. “I’ll start it but I’ll leave because this is a Superfriend-only event.” Mxy disappeared with a snap having a remote appear in Kara’s hand. “I guess we use this to start,” Kara said holding up the remote. “Ready?” After she heard agreement she turned to the TV and pressed play.
On the screen, the symbol disappeared and the word Pilot appeared.
