Ranboo wasn’t the type of person to just lie to someone they cared about. That just wasn’t his thing. So when they lied to his brother about where he was going, that’s all their brain could think about. ‘You just lied to your brother, why would you do that? It’s not like it’s a big deal you’re going to the field!’ Then again, they did have a reason. He was meeting someone and he wasn’t sure if Karl would be ok with that. But it was just Dream so he wouldn’t mind.. Would he?
He shook their head. He couldn’t think about that. Right now he was headed to talk with Dream. But.. talk about what? Dream and them had talked about it a bit the day before so he should know right? Maybe Dream would tell them when they got there. Yea. Yea Dream would tell him. After all, they couldn’t very well talk if they didn’t know the subject!
====================================30 Minutes Later======================================
It had been thirty minutes and Dream still hadn’t shown up. Dream was never late. In fact! He was always early. So.. why was he late? Was he in danger? Or did he actually just forget. “Maybe I should call him..” Ranboo picked up his phone and dialled Dream's number. He didn’t respond. So they tried again. He didn’t respond. So he tried one more time. He didn’t respond. He tried one last time. And he got a response.
At first all he could hear was running, the crunching of leaves, and heavy breathing. Which was concerning. Then suddenly they heard a weird ‘Hey..’ which came from Dream. “Dream, are you ok? You’re late. You’re never late and it sounds like you’re running from something. Do I need to call someone?” Dream sighed and then spoke. “Ranboo calm down. I’m fine now, and sorry for being late. I ran into some wild animals and got into a bit of trouble. Didn’t mean to worry you.” So he was over-reacting.
“I’m almost there, do you still want to talk?” He thought for a moment. Did they still want to talk? “Sure… But what were we going to talk about?” There was silence for a second and then screaming. “DREAM?! DREAM WHAT’S HAPPENING ARE YOU OK? DREA-” He had been cut off by a loud thud and the sounds of a body sliding against the dirt. ‘I need to call Sam..’
After quickly dialing in Sam’s number, Sam picked up. “Hey Ranboo, yo-” “SAM SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED TO DREAM I DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT HE- HE GOT- I-” “Ranboo, calm down. What’s wrong?” Sam replied. There was a tint of worry in his voice but it was barely noticeable. “I was calling Dream because he was late for our meet-up and, y’know, he’s never late!” “Go on..” “When he picked up it sounded like he was running from- from SOMETHING!”
“Do you know where he was?” For once, Sam sounded scared. “I.. I think he was in the woods next to the field.. It sounded like that and he said he was close so..” mumbled Ranboo. “Ok, I’ll be there in a few.”
=================================When Sam arrived========================================
“SAM!! You’re here! Thank goodness, I.. I was starting to worry that something.. happened to you too..” Ranboo mumbled. “Ah.. sorry, didn’t mean to worry you. But do you have a general direction of where Dream could be?” Sam asked. There was a moment of silence until Ranboo finally spoke. “Ummm… I think he’s to the.. Where the woods are? I never heard where he was until.. Yea… sorry is that not enough information?”
“It’ll.. We can.. We should’ve called more people huh?” Sam chuckled. “Yeah.. we can call more people.. Gosh I don’t know why I only called you! I should’ve called Puffy, and Phil, and Techno, and just.. Just everyone!” Sam starts to dial in everyone’s number as Ranboo keeps rambling on. Almost 40 minutes later, everyone is there and prepared to look for Dream.
Well not EVERYONE. Tommy and Tubbo had stayed home because they were asleep and only hell knows what would happen if they were woken up. Fundy didn’t come ‘cause he was off with 5up. And Niki and Eret were at work.
Sam helped explain the situation, with Ranboo explaining some more details. “So, I think we should split up and look. Luckily the forest doesn’t surround the whole park. Quackity, Karl, Sapnap, and George can be in a group. Ponk, Ant, Punz, Bad and Skeppy can be in a group. Purpled, Ranboo, you two can come with me and Sam. And Foolish and Hannah, get supplies for when we bring him back or if he comes here.” instructed Puffy.
“WHAT? MY BROTHER WAS OUT HERE ALONE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. I WILL NOT BE LEAVING HIM AGAIN.” Karl yelled, anger filling up his voice. “Karl.. He’ll be fine with me and Puffy. I get that you’re concerned and you have every right to be! Just.. relax ok?” Sam stated, the last sentence seeming more like a question. “I don’t care- just- please?” Ranboo, finally speaking after about half an hour of his silence “Karl! I’m really sorry- But Sam and Puffy will keep me safe! I promise!”
“I- I’m not- angry- it’s just.. I don’t want anything bad to happen to you! Sure, you lied to me but that doesn’t matter..” he added a ‘not yet anyways’ under his breath. “Please? I trust them..” Letting out a sigh, Karl finally agreed
“Ok then! Let’s go searching!” Puffy announced. It seemed weird. The way she said it was as if.. as if this were a game or a treasure hunt? It probably was nothing but they kept it in their mind nonetheless.
