Chapter 1: Advice

Chapter Text

Langa gets closer to Cherry and takes a deep breath before start talking; he’s clearly nervous.

“I want advice, Cherry… How do I–”

“No. And don’t call me Cherry here, I’m Kaoru.”

Langa looks confused, which means he didn’t even listen to the last thing Cherry said.

“What do you mean ‘No’? You didn’t let me finish!”

Cherry rolls his eyes.

“You will NOT propose to Reki!”

Knowing he’ll be wasting his time asking how did Cherry find out, he decides to argue with him about the thing that interests him the most.

“Why not? He’s… He’s my happiness, you know I’m in love with him!”

“I do. Everyone does but Reki. So how do plan to propose to someone you haven’t even dated yet?”

“We can date after our marriage,” Langa insists blushing, but determined.

He’s probably the most stubborn and weird boy Cherry has ever met.

“At least date him first… A couple of years of dating will do you two good…”

“Years?” Langa doesn’t look pleased about having to wait but he finally nods.

“What were you two talking about?” Joe asks, walking inside the room, prompting Langa to look away, trying to hide his blush.

However, as soon as Reki walks inside he forgets about his embarrassment and grins from ear to ear.

“Reki!”

Cherry rolls his eyes; he’s sure if he could, Langa would jump into Reki’s arms again.

“Langa, look what I just found, it’s an old skateboard magazi–”

“Would you have dinner with me?”

Reki doesn’t notice the way Langa’s eyes are shining or his nervousness because he smiles without looking away from the magazine.

“Of course. I’m starving.”

“I’m starving too!” Miya says, arriving just in time to make things for Langa even more difficult.

“Let’s go to my restaurant,” Joe offers and everyone around cheers at his words except Langa.

Instead, he silently asks Cherry for help, with a sad puppy look.

Unfortunately, Cherry is not someone who can easily be convinced of anything, especially if he thinks he’s doing the right thing.

Langa looks almost defeated, at least until Reki takes his hand to make him move from his chair. He then proceeds to do the thing he always does when the redhead is around: to look at him with heart eyes.

He’s stubborn, so Cherry knows he’ll try tomorrow, he just hopes he keeps his mind on the dating thing and doesn’t get any ideas about marriage again.

They’re both too young to get married.

Perhaps he should talk to Joe about it or maybe not, that gorilla would just probably encourage him to propose right away.
