Chapter Text
He’s sweating.
He’s fucking sweating and he hates it.
He doesn’t sweat, never. Training for hours on end with Saul trying to kill him didn’t make him sweat.
Killing burned ones didn’t make him sweat.
Turns out getting married is the thing that finally does it.
Fuck, who tied this bow tie so fucking tight?
He’s going to murder Sky. The bastard was supposed to be helping him, not trying to choke him. So much for a reliable best man.
Best man. Fuck, he’s getting married. Like actually, honestly to God getting married. He thinks he might be sick.
And it doesn’t make sense that he’s this nervous. He’s marrying the best girl in the world, the only chick who ever managed to make his heart beat so fast he feared a heart attack. His endgame.
He was marrying Musa and that was the best fucking thing to ever happen in his life, but apparently that didn’t mean he was sure he wasn’t going to puke right here and now.
He needed a drink.
Grabbing one of the bottles laying on the table, not bothering himself with glasses, he chugs it down. And then promptly spills everything out. What the fuck is this shitty drink Sky had put in the groom’s lounge? He really is going to murder his best man. Couldn’t even help him get drunk, the arsehole.
Riven starts pacing all across the lounge. He needs to calm the fuck down. He’s getting married in less than an hour and Musa sure as hell deserved more than some nervous – not nearly drunk enough – idiot.
Fuck. He needs this ceremony to start now or he’ll probably faint.
A knock at the door breaks his nervous pacing and he’s fucking ready to tell Sky to go fuck himself - Or Bloom in a broom closet. He honestly doesn’t care, he just wants the idiot to leave him alone - when he hears a faint “Riven” being spoken through the wood.
He knows that voice. According to stupid traditions he shouldn’t be seeing the owner of said voice until....exactly 49 minutes later - Shit, that soon? He really was going to be sick.
“Riv? You’re in there?” Musa’s voice stops him from spiraling once more. He really needs to stop with all this fucking self introspective shit. He’s starting to feel like Sky.
“Yeah...yeah, I’m in here Pixie. Shouldn’t you be like a thousand meters away from me, lest we offend the wedding entities or something?” He could hear her giggle even with the door in his way and that brought a smile to his face. God he loved this woman.
“Well, rules state that you aren’t allowed to see the bride before the wedding, so as long as you keep those eyes of yours shut, I think the wedding entities will forgive us. It’s just....I really needed to see you.” The last part is said as no more than a whisper, but by that time he had already moved to stay right by the door’s side so he was able to hear it, and that was all it took for his heart to fill itself. She was just as nervous as he was.
“Well, I don’t think it's fair that I’m forbidden from seeing you, yet you get to take a peek. I suggest we both put a little effort in appeasing the wedding entities and close our eyes, deal?”
“Deal.” With that said he distanced himself from the door just enough so she could open it and then promptly closed his eyes.
Next thing, he’s hearing the door opening and then closing and then there’s a hand reaching for him - And managing to smack him in the process - and after that...Musa.
Suddenly he’s not nervous or anxious anymore. Here, right now, holding this woman he’s going to marry, he’s finally at peace after hours of constant panic. Turns out all he needed was her. He’s not really surprised.
“God, I needed that.”
His only answer is to hug her tighter. He can feel the fabric and format of her dress but he’s not really focusing on that, he’ll have plenty of time to ogle her in her wedding gown later, for now he just wants to hold her.
“Stella is acting like a huge bridezilla and is not even her wedding....poor Brandon.” They both chuckle at that. The brunette really is a saint for daring to face the rest of his life at the sun princess’ side.
“Tell me we didn’t let Sky choose the beverages.”
“No, Stella said that no one but her was touching this wedding remember? But why the question?” Riven normally wanted to throw Stella off of a cliff but he really could raise a statue for her right now.
“No important reason.”
They stayed like that for a long time: hugging, their eyes closed and just letting the events taking place in less than an hour sink in.
Unfortunately they had to separate. Briefly yes, but Riven was never a fan of being apart from Musa and neither was she.
“I better get out of here before anyone finds out I sneaked out.” She slips out of his arms and he instantly misses her there.
She’ll be back there soon, really soon. He couldn’t wait.
He heard the sound of the door opening again and then closing.
He didn’t dare to open his eyes until Sky came to fetch him.
————————————-
They weren’t having a big wedding. There was no need, they weren’t very important people really.
You’re the fucking captain of the Eraklyon Royal Guard, a voice that sounded suspiciously like his future wife’s sounded in his head.
But whatever. They didn’t have a lot of people to invite and, despite his parents’ protests, he wasn’t keen on having a shit ton of people he didn’t know at his own wedding. Neither was Musa. Considering how emotional today was for her, she wasn’t sure how well her blocking abilities would work and none of them wanted the bride having a headache at her own wedding.
So yeah, their wedding wasn’t a big event - Much to Stella’s chagrin - but those who were here were those who mattered - Oh, fuck, when did he become this sappy? Maybe all those years being Sky’s friend were catching up on him.
He was currently standing at one of the very ends of the aisle, waiting for his fiancé to fucking appear - Why the bloody hell was it taking this long? - while also trying to avoid looking at his parents and doing everything to make sure the guests didn’t notice how fucking nervous he was - He did keep some of the lessons his pops had taught him after all.
The bridesmaids song started and he could have thanked the heaven above that things were finally moving.
Terra entered first with one of his numerous cousins - He couldn’t even be bothered with remembering all of their names, but they were one man short so what could he do - followed by Aisha and Nabu, Brandon and Bloom, then Flora and Helia entered - With that freaking cheeky earth fairy smirking at him as if mocking Riven for that time years ago when they first met and she accused him of liking Musa and he denied. He knew she was never going to let him live that down. Why did he invite her to his wedding again? - and finally it was time for the Best Man and Maid of Honor to enter.
Sky and Stella - Who had threatened both he and Musa to very painful deaths in case they did not make her the Maid of Honor. - entered just as the song was dying down. Both had very different yet similar expressions. Sky could’ve been mistaken for a golden retriever with the way he was smiling at Riven, while Stella leveled him with a more threatening expression - Yeah, yeah. He had been suffering threats of bodily harm from the suite since he was 19, nothing he was not used to - although he could see the underlying happiness. When they reached him, Sky clapped his shoulder and gave him a look that clearly said “You got this buddy”. The implied “And I got you” didn’t need to be said.
Ok, so maybe he wouldn’t kill Sky yet.
And then it happened. The bridal march started and his heart started hammering like a freaking drum set on his chest.
This was it.
He was getting married to his Muse.
Taking a deep breath he looks up to the sky and tries calming himself a little bit. Except when he lowers his gaze, the very breath he had taken becomes stuck at his throat and he feels like he can't speak, much less breathe.
Holy fucking heaven above.
His wife. His fucking future wife.
She looks like a Goddess.
He is sure she was something not even his more detailed fantasies could’ve come up with.
And she was marrying him. He was a goddamn lucky bastard.
She is walking the aisle toward him, her eyes a little watery, he knows his are too. Her father is by her side escorting her. He knew she had wanted her mother physically there too, but as he had told her, he truly believed that wherever Matlin Devine was now, she was looking happily at her daughter - He could only hope that she was looking happily at him too.
She is a vision in her wedding dress. He had had a feeling of what the shape was, earlier in his dressing room, but nothing could compare to actually seeing it. It’s an A-line flowy dress, which truly surprised Riven as he had thought Musa would wear something more form fitting - He shouldn’t have been surprised though, not with all those schoolgirl skirts she used to wear at Alfea to drive him absolutely crazy. The lavender flowers on the bodice and beginning of the skirt were also unexpected - But they warmed his heart more than he could ever explain. Flowers, representing his love for botanic and made in a shade of purple, his absolute favorite color. And speaking of that bodice, the way it fitted to her body should have been illegal, like, for real, he is basically saying hello to her tits - He missed them, it had been an entire day since he had had the pleasure of their company.
He was so mesmerized by her that he nearly missed when she finally reached him. Nearly being the key word. He could never really miss anything she did.
When her father gives a kiss to her cheek and leaves for his chair, Riven doesn’t waste a freaking second before pulling her to him and kissing her deeply.
Like, come on, did they really expect him to wait until all that yada yada of the ceremony was over? No way in hell, not with her looking like that, he wouldn’t.
He would have continued kissing his pixie – she tasted like strawberries and champagne – if not for something hard hitting his back. He broke the kiss and turned to find Stella holding her clutch like a weapon and a clear threat of bodily harm if he didn’t stop “ruining” the ceremony. Oh well, he doesn’t want to get on Blondie’s war path. He still has a honeymoon to enjoy after all, so he really can’t risk a castration at the moment.
“You may proceed.” He tells Silva, who had agreed to officialize the ceremony. His old professor just gives him a deadpan look and may or may not roll his eyes. Riven doesn’t need to be an empath to feel the different levels of amusement and exasperation both his guests and his wedding party are feeling. Well, it was their fault for expecting so much self restraint from him. They should have known better.
Musa’s clearly holding back a laugh. He shoots her a smirk.
“Well, now that we were so gracefully given permission by the groom to start this ceremony, let’s begin.” A few chuckles are heard. He swears he even sees Professor Dowling holding her laughter.
“I’ve known Musa and Riven for a very long time. And I’ll admit that at first, picturing those two together in any type of situation was nearly impossible for me, so, when Farah told me that they would be my new pair of Fairy/Specialist, you can definitely assume that I was a bit skeptical.” At that, the guests once again laugh. “But in true Riven and Musa fashion, they managed to prove me wrong. These two showed themselves to be one of the best duos I had the pleasure of teaching. They understood each other. They complimented each other. Sometimes it scared me how in sync they seemed to be.” Saul’s eyes shift to somewhere behind Riven’s head and the groom wonders what he’s looking at. “But well, I guess that’s just their way of being. These two went through hell and back and managed to still be a perfect match, in every sense possible.”
“With the growing of their relationship, one which, I was a very present spectator, I saw Riven, one of my best students, even if a little troublesome one, grow into the person everyone but himself knew he could be.” He feels his throat constrict a bit and he’s suddenly aware that he’s crying for way more than just because he’s marrying Musa.
“And I saw Musa, this mind fairy that simply refused to stay in the sidelines, who had the guts to practically demand from Farah and I that she be trained in specialist combat too...I saw this girl become someone the entire world should look up to. That’s not to say they changed each other. No, that wasn’t what they did. They simply believed in each other and were there to support their partner in their journey to become the better version of themselves.” He squeezes Muse’s hand a little tighter and feels her do the same.
“So to finish...today we stand here to join the lives of two people who have demonstrated to me and many others what true love looks like: believing in your significant other even when they don’t believe in themselves. It’s sitting with them in the dark when they can’t seem to see the light. These two are truly a match, and....I...I..couldn’t be more proud of the people they have become, of who Riven has become. You did well kiddos.” Silva’s eyes are definitely a bit shiny and the knot on Riven’s throat tightens. He never imagined that his professor, the man he spent so long trying to make proud, had so many thoughts on his relationship with Musa. He never imagined he’d hear the sheer pride in Saul’s voice directed to him. Seems his professor could still surprise him.
“The bride and groom will now read their vows.” He and Musa turn to face each other and he can’t help but give her a little smile.
“Riv. Six years ago, we bumped into each other in a crowded hallway. None of us could have ever imagined that we would find ourselves here. You were an asshole and I snapped at you. Seems like that’s how we’ve always been. I didn’t want to admit, but after that day, you got stuck in my mind. Your loudness called to my powers like no one ever had. You intrigued me. Later, when we were partnered up, you challenged me. You told me that I could be more powerful than I ever thought, as long as I stopped fearing what I could do with that power. You believed in me before I even did it so. You made me fall for you when all I wanted was to run away. And most importantly….” He hears her voice fucking break and….fuck...he loves her so goddamn much. “When hell fell upon us...you stuck with me. ‘We’re endgame Pixie’ that’s what you told me. That’s what you made me believe in. I love you Riv. With all my heart.”
“Muse...fuck...I don’t know how to write sappy, flowery speeches. What I do know, is speaking what comes to my mind. And today, in front of all these people, on our fucking wedding...dear God...the only thing that comes to my mind is that day at the Speacialist’s training grounds. Do you remember what I told you? ‘Stay the fuck out of my head’ and guess what? You didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, you never poked unallowed inside my head, but it turns out that you didn’t need to be an empath for me to become unable to stop fucking thinking about you. And that’s the reason we’re here today. Because you didn’t stay the fuck out of my head...and you know what? I’ve never ever been more glad about something than I am about this. I love you Pixie, but you already knew that.”
Tears stream on a torrent from her eyes. He sees them flash purple for a second and suddenly he’s surrounded by the rawest Love he ever felt. Her love. His love. Mixed together so tightly that you couldn’t decipher which was which.
From the corner of his eye, he sees Musa’s little cousin reach them with a little pillow where the wedding bands lay. He carefully picks them up and puts the one meant for him on his bride’s hand.
“Do you, Musa Devine, take this man, to be your husband, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death does you part?”
Her eyes are glassy brown as they stare back at him and it’s funny, because he had always thought that in this moment, in this nanosecond between the big question and her answer, that he would be terrified. Earlier in his life, terrified because he didn’t think he’d want to marry. Later, because there was always the possibility that she could change her mind, that she could say no.
Now, however, staring at the best girl he ever met, he’s not scared. Not anymore. He wants to marry her, with all the parts of his beaten up heart. And she’s going to say yes, he knows that, deep in his bones. Because they’re them. Because for six years now she’s been his eternal fixation, his partner in crime. Because they were them, and they’ve made it this far.
He always told her: they were endgame.
“I do” And as he slides the ring on her finger, they’re both smiling a little too big, but who cares? It’s their wedding, they have the bloody right.
“Do you, Riven O’Gara, take this wom-“
“Yes” He doesn’t need to hear the rest. yes yes yes.
That would always be his answer.
His hand is shaking a little bit as Musa puts the ring on it.
“Well then...by the power invested in me by the Kingdom of Solaria, I hereby declare you husband and wife. Now you may kiss the bride.” Somewhere in the back of his mind he registers his friends’ laughter, but he doesn’t pay it attention as he is too occupied leaning down to kiss his Muse with everything he’s got.
‘Yes I do’ indeed.
————————————-
Remember when he said he wouldn’t kill Sky yet? He takes that back. He fucking takes that back.
Riven’s idiot of a best friend hadn’t taken long to get himself shitfaced. In less than an hour since the beginning of the open bar, Mr. King of Himboland had found himself showing off his absofuckinglutely non existent dancing abilities, alongside Ginger, who must also have been drunk off her ass since she kept commenting how her husband was the best dancer ever.
However, that wasn’t the reason Sky’s earthen existence was being threatened. Oh no, the reason for that was the fact that the goddamn idiot had decided that now was a good time to give his best man speech. Now...when he was fucking drunk.
The blonde was a natural sap and a fucking romantic and Riven could tolerate his simpness to a certain extent - And with the help of a good amount of alcohol. But drunk Sky….that was an entire new level of sappiness and Riven was absolutely done with him.
Everything was going alright on the reception. People were talking, drinking and eating. His parents hadn't bothered to bother him anymore and he was having a fantastic time teasing Musa senseless with his hand, under the table...Of course, that was until Sky moved to the far back of the salon and tapped on his champagne flute, almost with enough strength to break it. When it didn't work, Bloom - lipstick smeared and part of her fiery hair out of it's fancy updo - put two fingers in her mouth and whistled loudly.
Everyone stops talking and Sky's entire face lits up with a smile "Hello- Hi- I'd like to say a couple words to my best friend."
Some people clapp, some giggle, but silence remains for the most part. Riven cringes. He is too far in the back to interfere now and fucking Bloom manhandles the microphone out of a singer and plants it on Sky's hand.
"So-uhm-" he rubs a hand over his face, "Riven. I love you. I love you, man and I'm so happy you're getting married and it's to an amazing person like Musa and- and that you're going to be a dad-" he chokes up and there is a general gasp among the guests.
Sky caughts on that and quickly shooks his head "No! Not right now, but I mean... One day and- Ah fuck-" Then his nose and eyes become red and Riven watches, in horror, as he starts openly weeping "I love you much, you're such a cool person and funny and I didn't even walk in that much on you two fucking and Musa is so sweet and sarcastic and pretty- ah fuck, she looks so pretty, you two look so pretty-" And to Riven’s absolute horror he continues to oppenly sobb. Musa on the other hand is close to choking on air with how hard she’s laughing.
Thankfully, while his best friend is a complete dunderhead, the other best men are smarter. He sees Brandon quickly move to drag the blonde away, but Sky is having none of that. He tries to swiftly make his way through the crowd to get to the couple. Thing is, Sky was a fucking good speacilist - truly, he was - but that did not meant he was gracefull, not at all. He crashes and bumps into more people than Riven dares to count and then when he finally does reach the newlyweds, promptly throws himself across the table to hug both of them.
Fuck him.
“I love you two so much!” And Riven is this close to murdering the bartender who allowed Sky to have so many drinks.
When the green eyed specialist sees the rest of his friend group making their way to them, he thinks he's finally gonna be saved from more of Goldilocks sugary prose. Instead, he is faced with utmost betrayal when every single one of those fuckers jumps on top of the fucking idiot and Riven suddenly finds himself in the middle of what is essencially a very constricted cuddle pile.
Eventually the grand fest of losers breaks out of the hug and lets him and Musa breath.
“Awww, I can’t believe this day has finally come. It seemed like it was yesterday that I wanted to lock you two in a room so you could fuck all that sexual tension away.”
“Fuck you Flora.”
“Love you too Riv”
“Oh oh, guys, where’s the jar? Someone go get the jar.” Riven looks at Musa wondering if she knows what the hell Terra is talking about, but it seems that the empath is just as lost as he is.
After a quick ‘gotcha’ Aisha disappears between the bodies occupying the salon, only to come back not long after, holding what to Riven looks like a three year old’s arts & crafts project.
“Here” The water fairy promptly shoves what he now sees was a overly - And horribly - decorated jar that read “For the most ‘walked in’ couple of Alfea”
“The fuck is this?” He looks questionly at the little group of bitches he calls friends.
“That’s our college ‘swear jar’, we don’t know if you guys remember it, but well, we had saved...and...well..” He doesn’t hear the rest of Terra’s little ramble.
Their college swear jar. Of course he remembers it. Those idiots had created it not long after he and Musa had started dating.
Apparently, one can only handle so much PDA before they make their friends pay a dollar every time they surpass the ‘get a room’ line. He and Musa had put so much money in this goddamn jar.
He opens the jar and is a little shocked to see a large amount of money there. What the hell was this?
“What?....”
“Well, as necessary as this jar was back in the days, we never liked the idea of spending the money….so...we just decided to save and give it back to you guys on your wedding.” And Riven feels a little prickly sensation behind his eyes - He is blaming on the day’s emotional roller coaster - because that is touching. And a part of him feels his heart squeeze. Their friends had believed from the start that he and Musa would get married.
“Well...nice to know y’all are giving me my money back. Can I demand fees for the time it took?”
“And of course you had to go and ruin it.” But everyone laughs nonetheless.
“Thanks guys….this..means a lot.” And he might not be an empath but he can feel the sincerity and the love in Musa’s voice.
After that the group disperses to go enjoy the rest of the party. All of them… except that one blonde giraffe bitch. No soon has everyone left, his best man throws his arms around Riven’s shoulders and hugs him so fucking tight.
“I’m so happy for you man….I love you little bro” And fuck. He wants to be annoyed by Sky - he really does - but how can he do that? This fucking himbo has been by his side for nearly 21 years, and no matter how annoying he can be, Riven does love the crap out of him too.
“Yeah, yeah, I fucking love you too man.”
Then Sky lets go of him, only to instantly tackle Musa in a nearly suffocating bear hug. Riven’s ready to mock her and ask who's laughing at the whole ‘being the subject of Sky’s sappines’ now? When he sees that his best man seems to be whispering something in his wife’s ear.
He notices her eyes start watering up and her smile turns wobbly. He also notices she hugs his best friend tighter and appears to nod.
Soon after, Sky lets go of Musa and reluctantly accepts to be dragged away by a unimpressed Brandon who came back after he saw that the blonde’s drunk ness was still in full action. He then leaves muttering something about not being nearly drunk enough for this shit.
“What did he say to you?” That makes the empath turn to look at him.
“What?”
“Sky. He was whispering something to you, what it was?” At that, her eyes seem to get a little bit shinier, but all she does is give him a little secretive smile and evade his question.
“Let’s go dance shall we?” And he lets himself be dragged away. He’s never been able to deny her much, after all.
Riven had always hated dance on a principle. His parents had put him in ballroom classes before he could talk and as a result, he had started to hate the activity.
But he had always loved the act of dancing when it was related to Musa. Watching her dance. Dancing with her. Those were two things that he happened to love. Over the course of their relationship they had waltzed together many times. This was their first time doing this as husband and wife though.
As soon as Stella had seen the both of them make their way to the dance floor, she had practically dragged everyone in their path away.
His arm around his Pixie’s waist, one of her hands on his shoulder, the other in his hand, her head resting on his chest. That way they stayed, swaying to some faint music he didn't care making out.
Today had marked the beginning of the rest of their lives.
————————————-
Later that night, he finds himself becoming restless. Don't get him wrong, he’s - surprisingly - happy with this party but he's more than ready to get the hell out of that salon.
Musa had abandoned him a while ago to go hang out with the girls and he’s desperately trying to spot her so he can maybe convince her to leave the party a little bit earlier.
He has had no luck on that however, so he decides to go see if Sky hasn’t died from alcohol poison yet.
Except, apparently his best man has also puffed out of existence.
“Looking for someone?” Riven turns to see his former mentor now standing at his side.
“Wouldn’t happen to have seen that idiot blonde you used to teach now would you?”
“Which one?” Riven stifles a chuckle. “Nah, sorry. I lost sight of Sky after that...lovely speech.”
“Were you the one that taught him to be that sappy?”
“Nope. That was all on Ben.” He tips his scotch glass at Riven in a mock salute before taking a large gulp. “Riven…”
“Yes?”
“I...just...I just wanted you to know that I truly am proud of you...all these things you’ve accomplished. I knew you could do it.”
"Uh...thanks professor”
“I'm not your professor anymore Riven….haven't been for a while.” The old specialist’s face assumes a weird look as he says that, but it's gone so quickly that Riven doesn't have time to question it.
“You know Riven, I've always thought….” Riven watches as whatever Saul was trying to say becomes stuck at his throat and his old mentor goes quiet.
“Thought what?”
“Uh..uhm...nothing..nothing, I...it was nothing important. Well, if you excuse me, I have to go back to our table before Farah dares Ben to drink so much he falls into a coma, and, well...I'm sure you want to go find your wife.” Riven watches as Silva turns away and is swallowed by the wedding guests.
He has no idea what just happened, but, in all fairness, he rarely understands things when it comes to Saul Silva. His old professor was right in one thing though: he did want to find his wife.
It doesn’t take him long to locate her, or better yet, for her to locate him. Nearly as soon as he is done talking to Silva he finds himself being dragged out of the salon by a very determined Musa.
“Hey, where are we goi-“ He is interrupted by a wanton pair of lips landing on his. He is then shoved roughly on the nearest wall, and well...who is he to complain if his Pixie wants to maul him.
“Stop talking and kiss me” It is no more than a whisper against his mouth.
“As you wish, Love” He wastes no time spinning them and having her now be the one tightly pressed to the wall. One of his hands is resting against the wall, while the other one makes its journey from her waist to her tits - As he had said it earlier, he did miss them - to try and tug it down the bodice’s strap.
“If I were you I’d be careful. If you ruin this dress Stella will kill you and I will help her hide the body” His lips are now attached to her neck, lightly kissing her pulse point.
“Don’t worry Shortcake, I promise no harm will come to your gown.”
“I’ve heard that before”
“Well, now I mean it” And she starts to giggle but it quickly turns into a moan as he bites the spot on her clavicle that drives her absolutely wild.
“We need...we...we need to get out of the corridor Riv”
“You never seemed to mind that before” He teases, but can help but slightly agree. He wants his fingers on her panties but the dress’ bloody skirt is too puffy and big for him to manage to get his hand underneath. He needed this whole fucking dress off, no matter how pretty it looks on her.
“Well, before, we weren’t in the middle of the corridor of the hotel who so graciously let us do our wedding on their salon and who can charge us the double for public indecency”
“Fine, but I wouldn’t mind wiping out our bank account so everyone can see how satisfied...I leave my wife” The words are whispered against the shell of her ear, and before she has the chance to catch a breath he’s pulling her by the hand and guiding them to the nearest bathroom he can find.
Once he does find it, he opens without a warning only to come face to face with his MIA best man currently trying to eat his wife out.
“Oh. So this is where you disappeared to” Sky whips around so fast he falls on his butt, while Red glares daggers at him. It gives him mighty deja vu of constantly walking in on these two during their Alfea years.
“Can you two go? I’m sure you noticed this bathroom is currently occupied.” Musa is already tugging him away while rolling her eyes at the couple.
“And here I thought you were already full from the dinner before. Enjoy your dessert Sky!” He shouts over his shoulder and that just makes Musa drag him away faster.
————————————-
When they enter the Hotel’s room it feels like everything that has happened in the last 7 hours finally - Truly - downs on him.
He married Musa.
And this...this is their wedding night.
Fuck.
He turns to look at her and she’s smiling at him.
“Hi”
“Hi” And they’re acting so weirdly that they can’t help but laugh.
She erases the space between them and locks her arms around his waist.
“It’s this real?”
“What?” She looks up at him, resting her chin on his chest and looking so fucking beautiful that he swears his heart stops for a second.
“You. Me. Us. We’re married, Riven. And it feels like a dream you know...because after everything that has happened, are we truly here? Together?”
“Of course we are. And I wouldn’t have it any other way Pixie.” He rests his forehead on hers. A reflection of earlier in his dressing room.
She steps away from his arms, and he’s about to reach for her, when she takes his hand and drags him to lay on the bed. So he does just that.
Him still in his suit. Her in her wedding dress. Just them. They lay like that. Her with her head in his chest and an arm and leg across his torso and thighs, while he draws lazy shapes on her arm.
“You know that now you’re my new pillow right? And that you can’t complain about the blankets. Wife Rights.”
“You say that as if you haven’t been hogging the blankets and using me as a pillow for the past six years.”
“Yeah, but now it’s not just six years or a few mornings Riv. Now you’re my pillow forever.”
“I like the sound of that”
“Me too” She snuggles deeper in his chest.
“Weren’t we supposed to be fucking? Isn’t that the point of a wedding nig-OW!” She hits him. The bloody fairy hits him.
“Are you programmed to always run your mouth or is this some sort of twisted talent you posses?”
“You like my mouth. The moans you let when I go down on you are proof enough.”
“And point cased.” He laughs at that and shifts, lifting her from his body in the process. And when she pouts he can’t help but kiss her, because she’s adorable and she’s his.
His to love. His to cherish. His to fuck. And his to do all that yada yada Saul said during the ceremony. She’s just his.
His red flag.
When he pulls away, her eyes are shining and he can feel the little pulses of Love she’s sending to him.
He slowly gets out of the bed and holds his hand out for her. Gingerly, she lays her hand on his and gets up.
Eyes locked together, he feels her hands gliding across his torso until they reach the first button of his shirt. One by one she opens them up, until the white fabric lays on the floor.
Without words she turns around and holds her hair away from the dress’ zipper. Slowly. So very slowly, he lowers it. His hands are shaking and he kinda wants to curse himself.
It’s not like its the first time they’ve had sex. Hell, they’ve been sleeping together almost everyday for the past six years or so. But something in Riven’s gut tells him this is different. That this moment is more tenuous, more intimate than all those years.
She’s not the infuriatingly beautiful mind fairy he saw on the grounds anymore. She’s not the girl who pushed harder everyday on specialism anymore. She’s not even just his girlfriend anymore.
She’s his wife.
And that word, that tiny little four letter word, has more power and meaning to him than he could ever imagine.
They’ve made love a million times as Musa and Riven. Enemies. Fairy and Specialist. Good girl and Bad boy. Girlfriend and Boyfriend. Tonight...Tonight they’re doing it as Wife and Husband. Two souls joined as one.
Today he had officially bid their lives together. But his heart...his heart had always been intertwined with hers.
The following morning Riven finds himself in an unusual situation. Musa’s an early riser, which meant that he would usually wake up to find her playing on her phone or reading a book while waiting for him to join the world of the living.
Today however, the sun had passed through the curtains they forgot to close and hit him straight in the face, promptly waking him up. He hadn’t managed to fall asleep after that. He also hadn’t managed to bring himself to leave the bed. Not with the way Musa was draped all over him, her body fitting with his as if they were some goddam puzzle pieces.
She lays there. So peaceful, completely trusting that she is safe in his arms. He squeezes her to his side tighter and brushes a stray curl out of her face.
He would make sure that she always felt like this.
Safe. Happy.
He looks at her. Looks at his sleepy wife.
His wife.
Musa O’Gara.
Riven and Musa O’Gara.
Husband and Wife….
Yeah, he could get used to that.
