Chapter Text
“Felix, I want you paying attention to our guests. If we can get along, it would be beneficial for both of our kingdoms, and you may find someone to spend the rest of your life with.” Queen Amiele told her son.
The prince, Felix, gave a stiff nod and kept his eyes on the door that was bound to open soon. “Yes mother.”
Queen Amiele gave a small smile to her son and faced the door along with him. She knew that her son was going to comply with her orders. Their kingdom needed someone to rule the land, and since her husband, Felix’s dad, had passed away, they were in need of the heir to marry someone. “Bring them in.” Queen Amiele said slightly louder than her normal voice. In walked a man with a girl Felix’s age.
The girl had tan skin, with green eyes. She was wearing a ruffled, belted, orange dress. Her hair was in three ponytails, a large one in the back, the elastic holding them close to the end, while the other two were small ones, towards the front. She had bangs, making it difficult to see her eyes a little bit. The man she walked with had on a traditional suit, nothing special, as to not upset people with what his people would wear.
“King Mateo.” Queen Amiele said, giving them a smile. She stayed sitting in her throne, even as the two that just came in got closer. “Princess Lila.” The princess faked a smile and waved to her.
“Please, just call me Mateo, Queen Graham de Vanily.” He said, taking his hand out for her to shake. She put her hand in his and nodded. “As long as you call me Amiele.”
The two shook hands, while Mateo took the back of her palm and placed a kiss on the center. “Charmed.” The two teens that were forced to watch this, gagged, having to watch their parents display affection to some stranger.
Princess Lila turned attention towards Felix, wanting to take her mind off of their parents. “I’m Lila.” She told him, holding her hand out.
Felix, who didn’t even want to talk to the girl, let alone touch her, didn’t bring his hand out towards her. “Felix.” He deadpanned, turning his head towards the side where there weren't any people. Lila scowled, not getting the attention from him, but was quick to replace it when she saw that their parents were starting to look over at them. The only thing she didn’t notice was that Felix caught a glimpse of that scowl.
“Now that introductions are done, I suggest we go somewhere more comfortable to talk. Wouldn’t you all agree?” Amiele asked, rhetorically. Her and Felix got up from the thrones they were sitting on and walked beside the person in the room that was in their age group. “Follow me.” Amiele told her guests.
On the way to their destination, the adults made small talk, spending the time to get to know the people they were with. Lila tried, making up stories about meeting other princes and princesses, just to get his attention, but he paid more attention to the floor than he gave to her. He didn’t believe a word that came out of her mouth.
They made it into one of the smaller living rooms they had in the palace. They all sat down, Mateo and Lila on a couch, Amiele on another, while Felix sat in a lounge chair around them.
“So, as of our kingdoms,” Amiele started. Felix didn’t feel the need to listen, he wasn’t old enough to control anything, so he drowned out the whole meeting. He was spaced out, thinking about what his life had come to to meet those two. He wasn’t aware of how much time had passed by, but his mother brought him back into the real world. “-what do you say Felix?” Amiele asked him.
Felix, turned his attention towards his mother. He didn’t know what his mother had been saying. “Yes mother?” He asked. But she didn’t hear it as a question, but rather a statement. He looked around and saw everyone with smiles on their faces.
“Perfect. So you and Lila here will get betrothed in due time. You’ll get married a month after the betrothal, seeing as we need a King soon.” Felix heard his mother say. Felix was going to object, saying that he didn’t hear his mother. Telling her to call it off, but it was too late. Their guests were leaving. He couldn’t put in a word he wanted to say. Staring in disbelief, he saw Lila give him an air kiss. He contained his disgust, knowing that once he got to his room that he would be able to let out his frustrations.
Damian had returned to the League of Assassins. It wasn’t his choice. His mother claimed that he was going soft and that he needed to leave the place immediately. His first answer was to decline, obviously, but with the threat of killing everyone, everything he loved, he caved. He knew that they could take her down, but she would probably bring in more and more assassins to help them fight his family until they were all knocked dead. He wouldn’t want that on his conscience.
So he went back. He was relearning the things his mother thought he would need help in, and excelled in them. He was learning more ways to kill a man, some more painful than others. Apparently, from the six years he was away from the place, learning not to kill, there had been other ways that people had learned. Of course there were.
When he was sitting down at night, waiting for his body to shut down, he would think of what his family was doing. He knew that he had a tracking device on him. Had being the key word. His mother must have taken it out of him or off his person, to keep them from finding him and ruining whatever plans she had for him. If that hadn’t happened, they would have found him by now, and he could have gone back to being with them, but he would never admit that he missed them, and spend some more time with his pets.
He soon became bored with the league, not interested enough to keep some interest into what he was doing, the most interesting thing that had happened was someone messing up in a fight, but that quickly became boring. Damian lost hope of his family finding him. They would have done it by now, since it was closing in on it being his first full year back.
“Damian.” His mother called out to him. He turned to her, wanting to know what he had done wrong now. “Quickly get dressed. We’re going out.” She said, before leaving.
Damian knew that that meant that they were going out on a mission. Whether it be getting information, or killing someone because of them being a traitor, he wasn’t sure. But judging on the tone in his mother’s voice, agitated, he knew to comply or face his mother’s rath.
Getting dressed, he made sure that everything that could leave a trace of his existence was covered. He was dressed in normal assassin attire, hood up, with a mask on his face to stop anyone from noticing him. After all, from the time he was away from the place, people knew of him.
Leaving his room, he went to the entrance of the place, seeing the helicopters lined up. He got into the one where his mother was, waiting for her to drive the thing. In no time, it was up and running, flying towards their destination.
“We are here to end the life of the traitor. Painfully. If I catch you slacking, or even hesitating to do your job, I will not hesitate to end your life in exchange for you being a liability.” Talia started, the moment they were getting close. She explained their special rules for each person.
When they landed, everyone separated, getting ready to eliminate the traitor. Damian, when he saw the place, recognized it as the Dupain-Cheng residence. It wasn’t a bakery. It was a modern, two story, private land. He went towards the side of the house, finding a secret entrance, a door half his size, to enter into.
He crouched down and entered through the small entrance. When he was fully inside, the place felt depressing. It didn’t have the homey feeling that the Wayne manor had before he left. It was missing something, and he didn’t know what.
Damian looked around, after getting out of his thoughts, and saw that there weren’t any security cameras. He got up normally and walked through the house, careful not to be spot, seeing as there were still people living there.
Walking around, he noticed the different frames of them on the wall. There was Sabine Cheng, her husband, and another kid, who looked to be their daughter, smiling in each of the photos. Whether it was a family photo or a random one, they all looked happy. It looked like they were a happy, complete family. So why was this place so empty?
He crept up to a room. He looked through the crack of the door and saw his mother with Cheng and her husband. His mother was interrogating the woman, demanding answers. It was either that or a slit to the throat.
“I won’t ask again. Where is your daughter?” Talia asked. Tom was against the wall, face full of fear, while Sabine wore an emotionless mask, even if the sword was around her neck.
“I’m not telling you.” Sabine calmly told the woman. Talia, frustrated at not getting the information she wanted, slit the woman’s throat, letting her suffer her way out. Her husband immediately got out of his state of fear, going towards her, only to get stabbed in the heart. Damian saw that Sabine pushed something in her pocket before going limp. He heard a low beeping and decided that it was time to get out. On his way out, he heard two gunshots. Most likely his mother shooting them to guarantee that they were dead.
Not even a minute later, the place exploded. The explosion caused fire to spread, burning everything in its path. It was a good thing that Damian had already made it outside, away from it its path. Now, the decision he had to make was either go and group back up, or escape and leave no trace of him there.
Marinette was on the run. People had found out that she was a witch and they wanted to use her for things. But the moment she declined something, they started to go out of their way to try and kill her.
Marinette, years ago, when she turned thirteen. She could suddenly heal things, bring things to life, or back to life, create things. She had kept it a secret, not wanting to bother anyone with it. She could practice and master it on her own. And she could show off to her crush and get him to like her.
Soon enough, the moment she mastered it, something else came. It was the power to destroy things, the complete opposite of what she was used to. Creation magic, what she called it, took her about three months to get the hang of. But destruction, it took her over seven months. Learning the opposite of what she was used to took a long time, but she eventually got the hang of it. But, that only lead to more powers becoming unlocked, but none of them took as long learning destruction.
Marinette had been sure to be careful, but one day, it didn’t happen. Adrien, Alya, and Nino had walked in upon Marinette destroying something with only her touching it. So, she had told them, and they started asking for things.
Marinette didn’t think anything of it, thinking that they were her friends and they wanted her to practice her powers. So she created and gave them things. She also practiced her other things in private, getting closer towards finishing and mastering things.
She had finally mastered everything, and told her friends that she was going to stop making them things, since they didn’t have to help her anymore. But it appears they weren’t listening, since a week later, they started pestering her for stuff, demanding them even when she didn’t comply. In result to not getting what they want, they told other people and they started to ask her for things. But Marinette didn’t say yes since she didn’t have the energy to create things, so they started to injure her, warning her to start doing what they said or else it would get worse.
Marinette consulted with her parents when it got so bad. They agreed on something. Marinette would run, while her parents went to their residence far away. In the end, Marinette teleported them there, since she had the power to do so, and teleported herself far away. She knew that she had to stay far away from Paris, so she teleported herself relatively close to her parents, but far away enough so that someone wouldn’t get to her.
One day, she heard her parent’s place explode. She knew someone was coming for her. After all, no one came to see her parents because they were close friends. So Marinette ran away, getting farther away from the people coming from her.
Felix had reached the edge. He had to be close to Lila for about two months, and they were about to get married. He knew that he wouldn’t be able to handle spending the rest of his life with her if he couldn’t handle two months.
When the day before the wedding hit, he dressed up in comfortable clothes, a briefcase with him holding clothes, and went towards the window in his room. He was glad that he was on the first floor, because he wouldn’t have survived going down two stories with a briefcase with him.
He left the window, not caring about what would happen if someone were to notice he was missing in the morning. Keeping his briefcase close to him, he stayed away from the guards.
Felix went towards the entrance with only one guard. He knew a way to distract him was to throw something and divert his attention there. Felix looked around and found a twig. He threw it, drawing the guards attention. He left his post, going towards the twig, and that allowed Felix an opening.
He ran as fast as he could, making it past the gates. He didn’t look back and ran as far as he could. When he stopped, which felt like hours later, he found himself a cafe that was open 24 hours. He walked in and sat down, happy that no one was questioning why it looked like he had run a marathon.
He ordered something and they gave it to him in no time. He had packed some cash in the briefcase and on his person, so he paid them
Damian ran at the chance to get away. He didn’t look back and ran away. If he was lucky, they could find someone and think that he was them, burned alive.
Damian saw that the Dupain-Cheng residence wasn’t far away from civilization. He ran and saw that there was a place that was open for the whole day. He followed in behind a girl that was in front of him.
Marinette ran and saw that there was a cafe near by. She paused and walked into there, wanting to get some energy before running again.
Felix, when he left the cafe, went to go get somewhere to stay. He knew that the cash he had wouldn’t stay forever, even if he had a lot of big bills, so he was going to get a job, but that would be a problem in the future.
He had gone back to the cafe, after taking a shower in the place he was staying at, a penthouse. He walked in and ordered the same thing he had earlier.
The runaway prince, assassin, and witch all got their orders at the same time. The three of them went to get a seat, only to all end up at the same table, since there was nowhere else for them to go. This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, that turned into something more.
