Work Text:

Treading across the forest path, Tommy stared at the map with envy. Why couldn’t an above average man (like himself) just lead the way? Surely, he could do much better than a thin, flimsy piece of paper.

“AH- C’mon man!” Tommy practically groaned and yelled at the same time. Throwing the map down in irritation. His strawberry red wings flapped angrily in the air, expressing his emotion.

“This useless thing is garbage!” Tommy declared. He hugged his chest and glared down at the lightly scrunched paper.

“Are you sure you aren’t only mad because you can’t read a map?” Tubbo chimed in with his unintentionally witty comment, which set both Tommy’s pride and anger ablaze.

“Like you could either.” Yet Tommy only muttered. He was getting better at controlling his temper. Well.. sometimes. Let’s just say he falls back a lot.

Ranboo watched timidly from behind. Once Tommy and Tubbo had subconsciously walked past the map, Ranboo carefully picked it up and firmly stretch it out with his hands. To their dismay, the map was torn right in the centre. Well, there goes their plan to get home. Maybe they could live here for the rest of their lives and start their own gover-

Thunder.

Ranboo shook and dropped the map as a white flash struck the world.

“Are fucking kidding me?!” Tommy angrily exclaimed as he stomped and flapped his wings around. Tubbo gazed up at the sky, mesmerised by how the clouds seemed to be slowly darkening. It was beautiful. How the pure white, and the somewhat annoying blue blended and danced together in the fluffy, free mess. They felt content, until a small droplet fell onto the top of his nose. At first he made no mind to it, until it clicked.

“It’s raining!” Tubbo yelled

“I’d call this more of a shower, Tubbo” Tommy replied. Stamping his foot down as he crossed his arms and looked sharply at his friend.

“That’s not the point” Tubbo looked, slightly Irritated, as they turned his attention to Ranboo. They seemed too busy toying with the map to realise the subtle, slow increase of water. Spitting down from the skies.

Squatting, The Endearian, frustrated as xe attempted to read the map in the poor condition that it was, felt a small spark on their cheek. A purple glint flashed in the corner of his eyes. Slightly annoyed, xe turned his head to face the purple particle, which seemed to dance urgently in distress. At first, they gave a confused smirk.

“Hm?” They tilted his head. The particle ran into his cheek, it would be cute if it wasn’t for the fact that this was alarming behaviour. Normally this meant that something was wrong. It was almost like the speck was trying to push xem away.

Then they felt it.

It burned. His hand ached as they held it up. It was raining.

That’s when he realised Tubbo yelling for their attention. Xe lunged up and ran for Tommy and Tubbo, despite them only being mere metres away.

“Ranboo, your hand! Are you alright?”
“Oh god, your hand dude-“

Another burst of lightning.

“It’s nothing, but we need shelter, fast.”

The rain suddenly began pouring down. Tommy instinctively jerked his wings up, covering Tubbo and Ranboo.

“Oh- phew! That was a close call” Tubbo beamed, their smile glowing.

“Yea, for you.” Tommy groaned in annoyance, his posture even more slack as he put on a bummed out expression. His hair instantly soaked from the rain.

Ranboo tried holding in his laugh

“It’s not funny!” Tommy yelled, pride destroyed. His red wings slowly fading into a darker shade as the rain poured.

Another strike of lightning and Tommy’s obnoxious groans weren’t getting any softer.
“I reckon this is unfair” Another strike

“If I told you this was above average, will you stop complaining?” Tubbo nudged Tommy’s shoulder. Greeting him with their pure, silly smile.

“Err..” Tommy had to put some thought into it.
“Fine.” The Avian reluctantly agreed.

The clouds grumbled, as the 3 teens stood and waited out the storm. It had felt like hours, and the rain was still relentless. Tubbo stared at the ground. They watched as the dirt was kicked across the world by the wind. He looked up for a moment as watched they watched as Ranboo shivered and Tommy stood, posture worse than ever as it seemed he just accepted becoming saturated at this point.

Ranboo’s glowing, purple particles had caught Tubbo’s eye. Observing as the murder of purple flew around xem.

And then it hit them

“Hey Ranboo, can’t you just teleport us home?”

Notes:

And then Tommy slapped himself mentally and physically.
