Summary:

Officially mated and doing long-distance due to their two-year age gap, Morisuke is in a rush to get on a video call with Lev from his apartment at university. He's in such a rush that he, unfortunately, forgets what he's wearing. Unfortunate for Morisuke, but for Lev, it's a wonderful surprise.

Day 6 - Wearing Each Others Clothes

When the long-distance aspect of their relationship began, he and Morisuke were already mated. They’d spent about eight months together total at Nekoma, give or take, and just the month before the semester began, they’d made it official.

Then, Morisuke had been off to university, and Lev had returned to begin his second year at Nekoma. Naturally, they began getting antsy to see each other within a few weeks. It’d been hard, going from seeing each other every single day to having to rely on the magic of technology.

So they’d begun calling each other via video chat each night. If it were only for a few minutes or for hours, they would call.

Today, however, was an interesting one.

Lev was seated on his bed, laptop propped up on his knees, the dull ringing of the video call echoing in his ears.

Then the line ended, and a blinking notification let him know Morisuke wasn’t currently available.

That’s weird.

Lev checked his phone, noting the time. Well…it is a bit early.

Before he could ponder things any further, his laptop began to ring out cheerily, and Lev snapped his eyes back to the screen, pressing the answer call button.

The camera snapped to life, and sitting there at his desk in his off-campus apartment was Morisuke, hair wet, eyes slightly bleary, and wearing an absolutely massive red sweatshirt.

“Hey! Sorry, I just got out of the shower.” After saying this, the omega stifled a yawn with a sweatshirt paw made from the overlong sleeve.

“…it’s the first round of exams, right?” Lev asked, trying desperately not to get too distracted by the sheer cuteness of his mate in his current state.

“Uh-huh…and volleyball is kicking my ass. It sucks being the newbie again. I liked it better as a 3rd year in high school.” Yaku replied, crossing his arms across his chest.

The sweatshirt sleeves swayed as he did so, and his hands completely vanished under the worn red fabric.

A few seconds ticked by, and Lev decided to bite the bullet. “So…that’s where my sweatshirt went.”

Morisuke stared at him through the screen blankly for a few moments, blinking, before his eyes widened in horror.

“I forgot.”

“Sure.”

“I DON’T WEAR THIS ANYWHERE OUTSIDE MY APARTMENT.”

“Uh-huh.”

Morisuke buried his face in his hands, still covered by the sweatshirt sleeves, before daring to glance up between the dangling cuffs. “To be clear, you did forget this at my house.”

“Yeah, I wasn’t wearing much of anything last I was at your house.”

“Oh my god I have a roommate!

Thoroughly enjoying the deepening blush of his mate's cheeks, Lev gave a good-natured laugh. “They’re not listening that close. So why’d you swipe it?”

“I didn’t swipe it; you forgot it.” Morisuke stubbornly insisted.

Lev rolled his emerald eyes before saying. “Ok, why did you keep it when I ‘forgot’ it?” He made air quotes around the word.

Yaku fumed at him, puffing his cheeks and only making Lev internally rejoice over just how adorable his mate was. Then, the omega finally gave his response. “I was leaving soon…and it smelled like you.”

Lev felt his heart stutter. “Really? That’s why?” He asked.

“Shut up! I’ll give it back when I visit!” Morisuke snapped, still flushed and irritated at his secret pajamas being discovered.

The alpha shook his head. “No, no! You keep it! Unless you want me to wear it for a few days, then give it back to you.”

“No.”

“You sure?”

“…”

Lev laughed again. He was so often the one getting teased or jabbed at by his omega that it was fun to get back at him once in a while.

“Well, if you happen to forget it at my house when you visit, maybe I’ll wear it around, and then forget it at your house again. How’s that sound?”

“You’re annoying.”

“C’mon, you know I’m joking.” Lev insisted, and he saw the way Morisuke cracked a barely-there smile at long last, shaking his head.

“I just…wanted it. Alright? So cut it.”

“Fine, fine. How was practice today?”

So their conversation spun on to different topics, but Lev couldn’t help but continue quietly enjoying the sight of Morisuke in his sweatshirt.

That sweatshirt had been comfortably big on Lev.

Lev, who was almost six foot five at this point.

Morisuke, by contrast, was barely five foot five.

So naturally, the sweatshirt was huge on Morisuke. It probably qualified as a dress, but Lev didn’t have the guts to ask him to stand up and check on that.

He just listened to his omegas grievances about exams as he watched the sweatshirt slide to hang low, nearly off one of his shoulders, and the way when he gestured the sleeves would fly about.

However, he noticed that Morisuke was yawning more and more as they talked, and even though it had been less than an hour of him enjoying such a wonderful view, he spoke up. “Mori, you’re tired. Go to sleep.”

“No, I’m fine. I just had a long day.”

“And I’ll bet you’ve got a long one tomorrow, so just go rest. Call me tomorrow night, same time. Or I’ll call you. Maybe I’ll even call and bit early and catch you out of the shower again.” Lev dared to be mischievous again, earning a furious glare and sharp ‘humph.’

“You’re lucky I’m not there, or you’d be getting kicked right now.”
“Why else do you think I’m taking the chance with a screen protecting me?”

Yaku gave him a frustrated face, mouth screwing up, before heaving a sigh. “Alright, I’ll go to bed.”

“Sweet dreams. I love you.”

Morisuke, despite the teasing he’d received throughout the evening, smiled with a spark to his eyes. “I love you, too. Good night.”

The dial tone sounded as the screen faded to black, and Lev casually clicked over his desktop screen and clicked on one of nearly a dozen screenshots he’d covertly taken throughout the conversation.

This one, in particular, featured Morisuke in the overlarge sweatshirt, mid-yawn with a sweater paw up to his mouth.

Within seconds, the photo was his new phone home screen, and as he powered off his laptop, he considered if he had time to stop by the mall tomorrow after school.

I’ve really gotta buy another sweater to ‘forget’ when he comes to visit.

Needless to say, over the next few years, Morisuke’s overlarge tee shirt and sweatshirt collection grew tremendously.

So did Lev’s collection of photos of Morisuke in said oversized attire, but of course, Morisuke never had to know that.
