Wei Wuxian looks into the camera and smiles.
“Hi internet!” he says with a bright smile. “This is 20 questions with Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng!”
“Today we’ll be answering 20 of the most googled questions about us” Jiang Cheng explains as Wei Wuxian is handed a bowl of pieces of paper.
Jiang Cheng reaches into the bowl of papers and pulls it out.
“Is Jiang Cheng still alive?” he reads outloud.
Wei Wuxian wheezes and throws his head back in laughter. As Wei Wuxian continues to laugh, Jiang Cheng looks straight at the camera and answers simply “Unfortunately.”
After a few minutes of laughter and unimpressed looks from Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian buries his hand in the pieces of paper and pulls one out.
“Is Wei Wuxian dating anyone?”
His mind flashes back to Lan WangJi, but he doesn’t know why. He’s not dating anyones, let alone Lan WangJi. Yet he can’t stop the burn on his cheeks.
“Yes, Lan Zhan is hot and smart, but that doesn’t mean anything of course…..” he thinks to himself.
“Wei Wuxian!” Jiang Cheng smacks him across the head, “We're still recording you dumbass!”
“O—OH!” Wei Wuxian quickly collects himself, embarrassed to be caught daydreaming about Lan Zhan.
“Uh— No I am not.”
Without even looking, Wei Wuxian knows Jiang Cheng is groaning internally in annoyance.
“Anyways! Pick another one Jiang Cheng! Go! Go!”
Jiang Cheng begrudgingly takes another one from the bowl and the topic of dating is never brought up again.
The next day, to Wei Wuxian’s horror, #WeiWuxiansInLove is trending on twitter.
“The fuck,” he whispers under his breath
Still, Jiang Cheng heard him. He walks over to where Wei Wuxian is sitting, and looks over Wei Wuxian’s shoulder towards his phone.
“What the fuck,” he says as he reaches his hand out to click on the hashtag.

“Jiang Cheng!!!! What am I supposed to do?!” Wei Wuxian says frantically “Now everyone thinks I'm in love or dating someone!!!”
“Aren’t you in love with Lan Wangji?” Jiang Cheng says without an ounce of sympathy.
“What!! This is no time for jokes!!!”
“I wasn’t joking dumbass.”
“What do you mean!!!!!” Wei Wuxian exclaims. “There’s no way I'm in love with Lan Zhan!”
Jiang Cheng simply hums in response. “Sure you are.”
“Jiang Cheng!!!” He whines.
Before any of them could utter another word Wei Wuxian’s phone rings. The name Lan Zhan, with a stupid amount of emojis, flashes across the screen. It continues to vibrate until Wei Wuxian uses his right hand to pick up the phone and his left to pick up the call.
“Hi Lan Zhan dear!!”
The sound of Jiang Cheng face-palming echoes through the room as soon as he speaks those words. Ignoring Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian continues speaking.
“You’ve gotta help Lan Zhan!!!! If you won’t listen to me I don’t know who will!!!”
“What’s the matter, Wei Ying?” Lan Wangji’s voice spilled out the phone.
“You know that 20 questions interview I did?!”
A moment of silence passed until Lan Wangji hummed in response.
“Now everyone thinks I'm A) Dating someone or B) In love?!?!”
“Are yo— Never mind. It’s time to feed my bunnies. I’ll talk to you later.”
“Wait! What do you mean! Lan Zhan!”
However before Wei Wuxian could ask any more questions the line had gone silent. Unbeknownst to him Lan Wangji had already heard and put a lot of thought into these rumors.
