Chapter 1: Chapter One

Chapter Text

“Sugawara-kun, right?” the man asked, looking at Suga.

“Uh, yes sir, but just Suga is fine,” Suga mumbled, looking around the gym.

The man nodded, “It’s great to have you here! We hold the camp every Saturday, usually the kids are anywhere from five to thirteen, although we group them based on age. What position do you play?”

“Setter,” Suga replied.

“Oh? We’ve got another highschool kid here who plays setter. From...Aoba Johsai? I think.”

Oh. Great, Suga thought, annoyed, Just what I needed. It’s not like Suga had anything against Aoba Johsai as a school, he was just miffed that they had wanted Kageyama as setter for the practice game the entire time, so Suga hadn’t gotten to play. The coach running the camp introduced him to the other people who worked there, as the kids slowly started coming in. One little girl, her brown hair in pigtails, came running up to him, tugging on his pant leg. Suga looked down at her. She squinted at him, before pointing up at him.

“You’re pretty!” she shouted, before running off.

Suga chuckled, watching her go, I’m here for the kids, just because someone from Aoba Johsai is here, doesn’t mean I’m gonna leave. I’m here for the kids.

“Hey, Uncle! That guy has a Karasuno jacket! Didn’t you lose to them in the practice game you had?” a little boy shouted.

Suga turned around, Oh, you have got to be kidding me.

Tooru Oikawa gawked back at him, holding the little boy’s hand, before shaking his head and looking down at the boy, “Takeru, shut up.”

Takeru stuck his tongue out at Oikawa, before taking off into the gym, saying hi to some of the kids he knew. Oikawa stared at Suga for a moment, before entering the gym and placing his bag

down.

“Fancy seeing you here,” he said, smiling.

Suga wanted to punch that smile off his face, “Could say the same to you,” he replied, coldly.

Oikawa looked somewhat thrown off by Suga’s tone, the smile faltering, “I’m just here ‘cause my nephew comes here.”

Suga glanced over at the boy who had come with Oikawa, he had brown hair, shaved shortly and tanner skin than Oikawa, “That’s your nephew?”

“My sister is a lot older than I am, why are you here?” Oikawa muttered.

Suga was sure Oikawa didn’t mean that in a mean way, but he took it that way, “I’m working here,” he muttered, glaring.

“Oh? Maybe you shouldn’t act so cold to your coworkers,” Oikawa snarked back.

“Maybe I’d be nicer if you weren’t such a prick.”

“How am I prick?”

“Your team was so obsessed with Kageyama, I didn’t get to play in the practice game.”

Oikawa’s mouth formed a silent oh , “You’re a setter?”

“Have been since middle school, thanks.”

“Uh,” Oikawa started, only to be interrupted by the coach clapping his hands to get everyone’s attention.

“Alright, ages five to eight, go to the right side of the gym. Nine to eleven in the middle and twelve and up to the left side!” he said, then he walked over to Oikawa and Suga, clapping a hand on one of their shoulders, smiling, “You two help out the five to eight year olds today.”

Oikawa and Suga nodded, glaring at each other as soon as the coach’s back was turned. They walked over to the kids, where Takeru, who was Oikawa’s nephew, was. They helped the kids set up the net, making sure it was low enough for them. Suga set the ball for the kids first, sitting criss-cross as he tossed into the air, giving every kid a high five after they hit. The little girl who had called Suga pretty came up, looking nervous.

“I haven’t hit a ball before,” she mumbled, eyeing the ball in Suga’s hands.

“Oh?” Suga said, “Well, here, you just take your hand, like this,” demonstrating, holding his hand flat against the ball, “then, you just bop it. Doesn’t have to be hard, doesn’t even have to go over the net, just get a feel for it!”

The little girl nodded aggressively, her pigtails swinging. She looked utterly determined as Suga tossed the ball to her, she slammed it over the net, the ball making a loud smack as it hit the floor. Suga gawked at her.

“That was great!” he said, grinning, high-fiving her, she giggled and ran to the back of the line.

Oikawa and him switched out, letting Oikawa toss to the kids. It was a little amusing, Oikawa was definitely not skilled in working with children, awkwardly high-fiving them. His nephew just punched his shoulder, complaining that his toss sucked. They let the kids have a free practice, helping them learn how to set a ball for someone else to hit. Suga was demonstrating to one little boy how to set, when he looked over and saw a kid crying, with Oikawa desperately trying to calm the kid down. Suga watched for a moment, before sighing to himself and walking over.

“What did you do?” Suga asked, crossing his arms.

Oikawa glared at him, “Nothing!”

“He made fun of me!” the little boy wailed.

Suga cocked an eyebrow at Oikawa, who was pouting, which kid was he supposed to be helping here? “How so?” He asked, crouching down and rubbing the boy’s arm.

“He said...he said I looked like Sa...Sadako,” the little boy whined, sniffling.

Suga wondered if he could commit murder and get away with it, “You said what?” he muttered, glaring back at Oikawa.

Who huffed at him, like he wasn’t the one who made a kid cry, “You can’t joke with kids like that, they’re not your nephew,” Suga pointed out, “They have different feelings and personalities. You need to be more careful.”

Oikawa rolled his eyes and Suga resisted the urge to smack him, “He started it.”

“Are you five or seventeen?” Suga snapped.

The little boy had stopped crying, running off, Oikawa blinked at him, “I’m almost eighteen.”

“Besides the point,” Suga grumbled, “Try and like, I don’t know, be nice .”

Oikawa opened his mouth to reply, but Suga walked away before he could get a retort in. The rest of the day went by without incident, most of the kids had left around lunch. Suga was packing his stuff when he noticed Takeru still standing by the door, clearly annoyed.

“C’mon Uncle!” he whined.

Suga looked over his shoulder, Oikawa was...practicing? Bumping the ball around the gym, utterly focused.

“Go on without me,” was his reply.

Takeru huffed and rolled his eyes, “Mom is gonna hear about this!”

Oikawa didn’t seem bothered. Suga rolled his eyes before leaving.

“How was that camp you started volunteering at?” Daichi asked him, on Monday during lunch.

“It’s good, I like it,” Suga replied, before scrunching his face, “‘Cept I have to work with Oikawa.”

“Aw, you work with the Great King? Your favorite person!” Daichi teased.

Suga swatted at his shoulder, “He made a kid cry, on the first day . I might actually kill him.”

“That would benefit us when we play Aoba Johsai,” Daichi remarked.

“It would benefit literally anyone, no one would have to put up with him,” Suga retorted.

Daichi just snorted as they continued to eat lunch. The rest of the day droned on until it was time for practice. He was headed to the club room when his phone buzzed.

Unknown Number

is this sugawara

Suga stared at the message, before replying.

suga

yeah

who is this

Unknown Number

its oikawa

Suga gawked, You’ve gotta be kidding me.

suga

howd you get my number

and more importantly

why

oikawa

the coach from camp gave it to me

for communication purposes

Suga narrowed his eyes at the phone, he had stopped walking, which catched Daichi’s attention.

“Suga, you coming?” Daichi called out.

Suga pocketed his phone, “Yeah.”

He didn’t text Oikawa until practice was over and he had left the club room.

suga

and you actually texted me?

oikawa

yes?

why wouldnt i?

suga

Suga gawked at his phone, before rolling his eyes and pocketing it. He walked home with Daichi, chatting away.

Suga hadn’t expected to hear from Oikawa again until Saturday, but the guy kept blowing up his phone throughout the week. Suga found it extremely annoying, mostly ignoring the messages, hoping that would stop Oikawa, but it didn’t, so Suga caved in and started replying.

oikawa

Suga grinned at his phone, looking at the photo of a comically large cat, stretched out across a lawn chair. The picture looked like it was taken on Oikawa’s walk to school. Suga started typing out a reply, when the realization hit him. He was smiling at his phone, because Oikawa texted him. He slowly put his phone down, staring at the wall. Oh no, I’m beginning to like him, Suga realized, the smile slipping off his face, he’s not the prick I thought he was. Fuck.

“Uh, Suga, you alright?” Tanaka asked, staring at him.

“I’m fine,” Suga muttered, putting his phone away.

I can’t believe I smiled at the damn text message, how is he so annoying, but charming? Suga wondered, tugging on his shirt. He didn’t want to worry about that realization right now, they had volleyball practice. Practice went smoothly, now everyone was cleaning up. Suga was untying the net when Hinata approached him, wringing his hands.

“Hinata, everything alright?” Suga asked.

“I need your help,” he mumbled, glancing around.

Suga raised an eyebrow, untying the net slower, “With what?”

“How do you deal with a crush?” he asked, quietly.

Suga blinked at him, “Uh, depends on who you’re crushing on?”

Hinata took a deep breath, cheeks red, “Kage...Kageyama…”

Suga opened his mouth and closed it a few times, before speaking, “Oh, that’s adorable .”

“No, it’s not!” Hinata whined, pouting, “He’s such a jerk! Why would I like him?”

Suga shrugged, “Crushes are weird, do you want to confess to him?”

“No! No!” Hinata said, “That’s...a lot, and with the team…”

Suga sighed, “Well, I doubt it’s going to go away easily. What do you want to do?”

“I don’t know,” Hinata grumbled, “I tried asking Tanaka for advice…”

“Okay, well that was your first mistake,” Suga said, glancing over at Tanaka, “He won’t say anything, but you’re gonna have to deal with his teasing. I honestly don’t have any advice right now,but I could probably ask someone who might.”

Hinata beamed at him, “Please! Thank you, Suga!”

Suga grinned and ruffled the shorter boy’s hair, “No problem, let’s finish cleaning up.”

They finished cleaning pretty quickly, Suga noticing Hinata was avoiding Kageyama at any cost, leaving the other boy utterly confused. He shook his head, sighing to himself, they would have to figure out something. In the club room, he changed out of his sweaty clothes, looking at his phone.

suga

i cannot believe im doing this

i need your help

oikawa

Suga sat on the bus, scrolling through his phone as he headed to the camp. The team group chat was blowing up, as well as Oikawa constantly texting him.

Suga rolled his eyes, his bus stop coming up. He pocketed his phone and got up, nodding to the bus driver as he exited. He walked over to the gym, pushing the door open. The first thing he saw was Oikawa, spread out on the ground, Takeru sitting on him. The other kids were hitting a volleyball back and forth. Suga placed his bag down and changed into his volleyball shoes, walking over to Oikawa.

“Uh, hey,” Suga said, leaning over him.

“Hi,” Oikawa mumbled, his eyes closed.

“Hi Sugawara!” Takeru said, brightly.

“Comfy?” Suga asked, looking at Takeru.

“Yeah!” he replied, grinning.

Suga chuckled, “Let your uncle up, we got a camp to run.”

Takeru whined, but got off Oikawa, who sat up, groaning, “He’s heavy.”

“No, I’m not!” Takeru whined, again.

Suga rolled his eyes, “Let’s just get started, okay?”

Oikawa hauled himself up off the floor, while Suga went and set up the mini-net for the kids. While he did that, Oikawa entertained the kids by spinning the volleyball on his ginger, trying to show them how to do it, it was somewhat endearing, even Suga would admit that. Once their little court was set up, they began camp. They started off the same way, Suga setting for kids to spike the ball and Oikawa encouraging them, giving them high fives and bright smiles. The camp ran smoothly, Oikawa and Suga didn’t bicker and no one cried. They were cleaning up, waving goodbye to the kids, now. Takeru was standing in the doorway watching them.

“Mom is picking me up today!” he yelled.

Oikawa nodded, “Okay, is she meeting you at the bus stop?”

“Yeah!”

“Let me walk you there,” Oikawa said, glancing over to Suga.

Suga flapped his hand, “It’s fine, there isn’t much left to clean up.”

Oikawa just nodded, grabbing Takeru’s hand, walking out. Takeru shouted goodbye to Suga, who shouted one back. He finished cleaning up the gym, starting to pack his bag, when Oikawa walked back in.

“Oh, hey,” Oikawa said, “Thought you would’ve left already.”

“Cleaning takes a little longer with just me, did your sister yell at you for leaving Takeru alone?” Suga asked, smirking.

Oikawa rolled his eyes, putting his hands in his pockets, “Maybe, not important. Anyways, what are you doing?”

“Right now?”

“Yeah.”

“About...to head home?”

“Wanna practice with me?”

Suga sighed, putting his bag down, “Sure, why not? I could use it.”

Oikawa helped Suga put the regular net up, Suga brought out some volleyballs. The two of them faced each other, the net between them. Suga put his hands on his hips, frowning.

“So, exactly how are we going to practice with just the two of us?” he asked.

Oikawa gave a wolfish grin, “Like this.”

He tossed the ball up high, smacking it hard. It soared over to Suga, who instinctively jumped into a receive position. He braced himself to bump the ball, not expecting it to hit his arms as hard as it did, the ball careening off his arms, flying out of the court. Suga swore under his breath, his forearms throbbing, glaring at Oikawa who was laughing. Suga huffed and walked over to pick the ball up, he took a few steps back, ready to serve.

“Okay, I can play this game,” Suga muttered to himself.

He tossed the ball up, bumping his serve. He didn’t jump like Oikawa did, hitting much softer. Oikawa realized what happened a second too late, Suga grinned as Oikawa rushed forward, diving for the ball that barely made it over the net. He slid forward, arm outstretched as the ball hit the floor in front of him. He glared up at Suga.

“I think I get it now, how to play with just two,” Suga said, grinning down.

“You’re aggravating,” Oikawa muttered, hauling himself up.

“That makes two of us,” Suga replied.

They kept at it, hitting the ball back and forth, running around the whole court, until it was almost dinnertime. Suga had his hands on his knees, bent over, panting. Oikawa was laying on the floor, also panting.

“I think I’m done for today,” Suga muttered.

“I’m gonna...I’m gonna keep practicing,” Oikawa said, hauling himself up.

“Are you insane? It’s nearly time for dinner, we’ve been going since like one in the afternoon,” Suga said, staring at Oikawa, perplexed.

“I’m fine, I’m not that hungry,” Oikawa said, Suga could tell he was lying, his legs were shaking as he walked.

“Yeah, no. We’re getting dinner, c’mon,” Suga said, rushing over and grabbing Oikawa’s arm.

“What?”

“We’re getting dinner, then we are going home and resting.”

“I’m fine, I’m gonna keep--”

Suga whirled around, face to face with Oikawa, glaring up at him, “Are you stupid? You’re clearly exhausted, you need some food and rest, volleyball will be here tomorrow, now c’mon, let’s clean up, this isn’t up for debate.”

Oikawa stared down at him wide-eyed, Suga realized he had grabbed a fistful of Oikawa’s shirt, he coughed awkwardly and released him, they said nothing as they cleaned up.

“So,” Oikawa mumbled, as they walked to the bus stop, “What do you wanna eat?”

Suga shrugged, “We could just grab something easy, like McDonald’s?”

Oikawa scoffed, “McDonald’s? Absolutely not. Let’s get ramen or something, sit down and chill.”

“You...want to get dinner...with me?” Suga asked, slowly.

Oikawa shrugged, “We’re friends, aren’t we?”

Suga stared up at the other boy, who was staring straight ahead, “Yeah, yeah we are.”

Suga, admittedly, forgot about Oikawa’s promise to come help Hinata. Today had been a little strange, it was only a Thursday, but they didn’t have practice. Takeda was out sick and Ukai was stuck running the store today, as well as the gym being inspected, so they weren’t able to have practice. Suga had to remember that when school was over, he had instinctively headed towards the gym and was about to backtrack to the main gate when something caught his eye. A bright blue and white jacket. With the words ‘Aoba Johsai’ written on the back. He stopped dead in his tracks, there was no way. He made a beeline for the person standing there.

“What the fuck are you doing here?” Suga hissed, grabbing Oikawa’s arm.

Oikawa grinned at him, this bastard , Suga thought, “I’m here to help Shorty.”

“Jokes on you, we don’t have practice today,” Suga said, “You really came over here to help Hinata?”

“Well, yeah, sounds like he needs it and you clearly weren’t going to help him.”

Suga scoffed, “I can’t believe this.”

“Is he still on campus?” Oikawa asked.

“You cannot be serious, and I sure hope not, just, come with me, we are leaving,” Suga said, tugging Oikawa.

Oikawa was a lot stronger than he looked, Suga could not get him to budge, he just laughed as Suga tugged on him, “C’mon Oikawa, let’s go!” Suga whined.

“Fine, fine! Don’t think I won’t try again,” Oikawa said, finally moving.

Suga let out a sigh of relief as Oikawa followed him off campus. He kept his arm linked with Oikawa’s, just in case he spotted Hinata and made a run for it, because Suga believed Oikawa would do that. But, they made it off campus, earning a few strange looks from some students, but otherwise perfectly safe. Suga didn’t let him go until they reached Sakanoshita Store.

“Hungry?” Suga asked.

Oikawa shrugged, “I could go for a snack.”

The two of them entered the store, Ukai eyeing them as they browsed the shelves. Suga tried to ignore the way Ukai was staring at them, they weren’t doing anything, just hanging out. They were friends, after all. Oikawa had chosen a variety of snacks, arms full. Suga rolled his eyes as he picked out a bag of pretzels. Ukai stared down wordlessly at Oikawa’s pile, glancing momentarily at Suga, who added his pretzels.

“I’ve got it,” Suga muttered, pulling out his wallet.

“What?” Oikawa said, “No, I can pay for my own.”

“This is my thanks for not embarrassing me,” Suga said, already handing over the cash to Ukai.

“What makes you think I won’t try again?” Oikawa snorted, “You were just lucky you didn’t have practice today.”

“Try again and I won’t hesitate to beat you up,” Suga replied.

Oikawa snorted again, clearly amused, “Like you could! You couldn’t even get me to budge trying to get me off campus.”

“Oh, shut it,” Suga mumbled, as Ukai handed them their snacks in the bags.

They thanked him as they headed out, Ukai just giving them a nod in return. Oikawa was ripping into one of his snacks before they even got out the door. Suga stared in impressed horror as Oikawa inhaled the snack like it was nothing, as he slowly munched on his pretzels. They walked in silence as they ate, heading to the bus stop. Oikawa had finished all his snacks at an alarming rate by the time they had reached the stop. They boarded the bus once it arrived, settling themselves next to each other. Suga stared at the window, Oikawa idly playing on his phone. Until Suga felt something land on his shoulder, he glanced over and noticed Oikawa had dozed off, resting his head on Suga’s shoulder. Suga rolled his eyes to himself, but didn’t dare wake him until he got to his stop.

“Hey, I gotta go, this is my stop,” Suga murmured.

Oikawa nodded sleepily, “Okay, see you Saturday.”

“See you, don’t miss your stop,” Suga said, walking off the bus.

Suga made it home, already settling himself on the couch with dinner when his phone buzzed.

oikawa

slept through my stop lol

i just got home

suga

idiot

glad youre home tho

Suga arrived late to the camp today, he huffed as he ran through the door. The kids were already grouped up, the young ones attempting to climb on Oikawa, who looked less than pleased. Suga changed into his volleyball shoes and headed over.

“You’re late,” Oikawa mumbled.

Suga picked up one of the kids trying to climb on him, “Missed the bus.”

“Hm,” was the reply.

The camp went smoothly, but Suga noticed Oikawa was a lot less talkative today, less energetic. There’s no way he’s actually that mad at me for being late? Suga thought, frowning, I mean, yeah, I could’ve texted him, but that seriously can’t be it, he just seems....off? The kids seemed to notice too, trying to give him smiles and high fives after he gave them a set to hit, instead of the other way around. Suga was concerned, but he wasn’t sure how to ask if Oikawa was alright. They texted, sure, but they still weren’t very close. The camp ended, the kids waving goodbye as Suga and Oikawa cleaned up. Oikawa stayed behind, picking up a ball and spiking it. Suga stood there, watching him. He was off, the spike wasn’t nearly as powerful as anything Suga had seen from him. When he landed, he was shaking. Suga sighed to himself.

“Hey, you alright?” Suga called out, slinging his bag over his shoulder.

Oikawa glanced at him, “I’m fine.”

As if on cue, he jumped for a spike and immediately stumbled, falling to his hands and knees. Suga dropped his bag and ran over, attempting to grab Oikawa’s arm to help him up. Oikawa yanked his arm away, Shit...he’s burning up, Suga realized.

“You idiot, you have a fever!” Suga hissed.

The stare Oikawa gave Suga sent an uncomfortable shiver down his spine, he looked...completely out of it, his gaze seemed utterly unfocused. Suga stared back at him, thinking. There was no way he could get him on a bus, not in this state. Man, I wish I could drive right now, Suga thought, forcing Oikawa to his feet.

“‘M fine,” Oikawa mumbled.

Suga could feel the heat radiating off him as he slung Oikawa’s arm around his shoulder, “You most definitely are not.”

Oikawa muttered something under his breath, but Suga didn’t hear what he said. He got Oikawa to sit against the wall, the other boy giving up on arguing with him, leaning his head back. Suga crouched down, placing his hands on his knees, looking at him. He could definitely see the red tint on his face of a fever, as well as the obvious shivering. Suga sighed through his nose, rubbing his face.

“Is there anyone who can come get you?” Suga asked.

Oikawa shook his head, eyes closed, “My mom is working...sister not here.”

Suga sighed again, fishing his phone out of his pocket, maybe someone could help. He scrolled through his contacts, wondering who could help. His mom was also still at work and none of his friends could drive, but there was one person. Suga cursed internally as he hit the call button.

Riding in the back of Ukai’s car with a feverish Oikawa was absolutely one of the more awkward moments in Suga’s seventeen years of life. Ukai wasn’t saying anything, just glancing at them through the rearview mirror as he drove, soft classical music playing through the speakers. Oikawa was resting his head against the window, eyes closed. Suga wasn’t sure if he was asleep or not. Suga was staring down at his hands, desperate to avoid eye contact with his coach. He pretended to be interested in the blue seat he was sitting in, fumbling with the edge of the seat, picking at some peeling leather. There was a soft thunk and a groan from next to him, Oikawa had hit his head on the window when they hit a bump. Suga glanced over at him, he was slumped forward now, which only made Suga more concerned. After what felt like forever, they pulled up to Oikawa’s house. Suga helped him out of the car, grabbing their bags. Ukai rolled down the window, a cigarette between his lips, handing him a small bag.

“Fever reducer medication and some other stuff, let me know if you need anything else,” Ukai said.

“Thanks, coach,” Suga mumbled, herding Oikawa into his house.

Suga unlocked the door, having snatched the keys from Oikawa’s hands. He practically shoved Oikawa into the house before slipping off his own shoes and dropping the bags by the door. Oikawa was standing in the foyer, Suga behind him.

“Go lay down,” Suga muttered, attempting to shove him again.

“I think…” Oikawa mumbled.

“I swear if you puke!” Suga grumbled.

“Gravity...is increasing,” Oikawa whispered, dramatically, leaning back.

“What?” Suga asked, confused.

Oikawa leaned further back, collapsing onto Suga, who yelped as he tried to support the other boy’s weight, “No, it’s not!” Suga groaned, “Stop that!”

Oikawa giggled, Suga had never heard him giggle. Suga wanted to go home. “Just get on the damn couch,” he huffed.

Oikawa snorted, leaning back up and walking over to the couch, where he flopped down. Suga looked in the bag, there was the fever reducer as well as some painkillers and a thermometer. He looked around the house, before walking into the kitchen to grab a glass of water and opened the fever reducer bottle. He dumped two into his palm and walked back over to Oikawa, who was still face down on the couch.

“Sit up, drink and take this,” Suga muttered, handing him the medication.

Oikawa sat up slowly, taking the pills and drinking some of the water. Suga pulled out the thermometer and stuck it in Oikawa’s mouth, who just whined.

“Shut up,” Suga groaned, checking it when it beeped.

38.8C. Suga gawked at it, then at Oikawa.

“What?” Oikawa mumbled.

“Are you really that stupid? Are you trying to die from a fever?” Suga said, doing his best to not smack him.

“‘M fine ,” Oikawa mumbled.

“You are not ! Thirty-eight degrees!” Suga shouted, exasperated.

Oikawa pulled a blanket over him, shivering, Suga snatched it from him, causing the other boy to whine again.

“The last thing you need is to make yourself warmer . Go change into some shorts and a t-shirt or something,” Suga huffed.

“But I’m coooold ,” Oikawa whined.

If this fever didn’t kill Oikawa, Suga was going to. He rubbed his face, wondering if he could just leave, but then immediately felt guilty at the thought of leaving Oikawa in this state, he huffed again.

“Of course you’re gonna be cold, you have a fever, but you cannot make yourself warmer, that’s gonna make it worse.”

“Can I at least take a shower?” Oikawa groaned.

“Can you stand up without falling over?” Suga countered.

Oikawa glared at him, hauling himself to his feet, but stumbled immediately, Suga catching him, “Tch, thought so.”

“Shut up Koushi,” Oikawa mumbled.

“Okay, Tooru , I’ll cut you a deal,” Suga said, “You can take a bath, but it cannot be a hot bath.”

“Fine.”

Suga helped Oikawa up the stairs to the bathroom, letting the water run. It wasn’t warm water, but Suga also didn’t want to force Oikawa into a freezing cold bathtub, so he let the water be somewhat warm. Oikawa entered the bathroom, causing Suga to look up. Suga went a little wide-eyed, the other boy stood over him, in nothing, but a towel. Suga felt his cheeks flush and he pointedly looked away.

“I’ll, uh, be in on the couch,” Suga mumbled, making a hasty exit.

He dashed back down stairs and sat on the couch, trying to ignore the image of a shirtless Oikawa that was stuck in his head, Wow...he’s ripped… Suga thought, what the fuck. He shook his head, pulling out his phone. He had several missed messages in the group chat.

Suga knew he was going to get hammered with questions, so he silenced the group chat, he really didn’t want to explain how he ended up here anymore than he had. He was never going to live this down. The realization that Suga hadn’t heard anything from Oikawa in the past twenty minutes hit him, he sighed and walked upstairs, knocking on the bathroom door.

“Oikawa? You good?” he asked.

There was no response, Suga frowned, knocking again, “Oikawa?”

Again, nothing.

“Oikawa Tooru, are you alive?” Suga yelled.

There was still no reply. Suga groaned and twisted the doorknob, it was unlocked. He pushed opened the door, peeking in. Oikawa was sprawled in the tub, one leg hanging over the side, the other still in the tub. His head was back against the wall, eyes closed, an arm also dangling over the tub. Suga blinked, before picking up a small hair towel and throwing it at Oikawa, who jerked awake.

“Were you asleep in the bathtub?” Suga asked in disbelief.

“...No?” Oikawa mumbled, rubbing his eyes.

“Holy shit, you were asleep in the bathtub,” Suga said, trying not to laugh.

“Shut up, I’m sick and tired!”

“Then finish your bath and get out and go to bed ,” Suga replied.

“Why are you still here?” Oikawa asked.

Suga opened his mouth and closed it again, he didn’t really have a good reason for still being here, “Uh, I guess to make sure you didn’t drown in your own bathtub.”

Oikawa scoffed, sitting up. His hair was still dry.

“Did you just get in and fall asleep?” Suga snorted.

“Shut up.”

“The great king fell asleep in the bathtub,” Suga whispered, giggling.

“I said shut up!”

“What? Can’t wash your own hair?”

“What? Gonna wash it for me?”

“Do you want me to?”

Suga froze, registering the words that just came out of his mouth. Oikawa was staring at him, eyebrows raised. They both seemed to realize in that moment that Oikawa was, in fact, naked. Suga turned his attention to the ceiling.

“Uh...I can wash my own hair.”

“Okay.”

“I mean, unless you really want to?”

Suga shrugged, “I do it for my little brother all the time.”

“Oh. Well, this can be our secret.”

“Trust me, I’m not telling anyone about this.”

“Please don’t.”

Suga finally entered the bathroom, settling himself down next to the tub. Oikawa dunked himself under, wetting his hair, then sat back up. Suga pointedly did not look at him as he squeezed shampoo into his hands.

“You can be less awkward about this, have you not been to a public bath?” Oikawa mumbled.

“Public baths are…” Less intimate. “Different.”

Oikawa shrugged, “This is only gonna be awkward if you’re gonna be awkward, also you suggested it.”

“Whatever, close your eyes or I’m putting shampoo in them.”

“Jeez, okay.”

Oikawa closed his eyes as Suga ran his hands through the wet, brown hair, humming softly. Oikawa sighed and relaxed, Suga could tell he was definitely less warm than before, which made him hope that the fever was going down. Suga lathered Oikawa’s hair, gently.

“Are you...giving me a mohawk with the shampoo?” Oikawa mumbled.

“...No?” Suga said, as he forced Oikawa’s hair to stand up.

“I feel like you’re lying.”

“Hush, I’m rinsing your hair now.”

Oikawa hummed as Suga took the cup next to the sink, filling it with water and gently washing out the shampoo. He repeated the lathering and rinsing with the conditioner.

“These products smell good,” Suga commented.

“I take good care of myself,” Oikawa replied.

Suga snorted, “You gave yourself a fever, because you overworked yourself.”

“Details.”

“Alright, you should be good, I’ll be downstairs,” Suga said, drying his hands.

“Okay.”

Suga found himself back on the couch, not paying attention the show on the TV, scrolling through his phone, trying to ignore the text messages that were flooding his phone. He had silenced the groupchat, but still got the notifications of unread messages. He took a deep breath before opening the chat.

Suga felt the couch dip next to him, he glanced up from his phone. Oikawa had settled himself next to him, wearing a plain t-shirt and some boxers, wrapped in a blanket. Suga smacked his hand against Oikawa’s forehead. He was definitely less warm than before.

“Ow,” Oikawa muttered, shoving Suga’s hand off.

“Fever’s gone down,” Suga said.

“Yeah, but I think I have a red handprint from where you just smacked me.”

“Shut it, you hungry?”

“Always.”

Suga snorted, “I’ll make dinner, you need to eat a proper meal.”

“I eat proper meals all the time.”

Suga looked Oikawa up and down, eyebrows raised.

“Don’t look at me like that, you just saw me naked, I’m not as skinny as I look.”

Suga really didn’t have a good comeback for that, he just rolled his eyes and walked over to the kitchen. Oikawa trailed behind him a few seconds later, settling himself at the table. Suga scanned the kitchen, pulling out random ingredients.

“What are you gonna make?” Oikawa asked.

“Uh, omelettes?” Suga muttered, shrugging.

“Works for me!”

“Well, it better.”

Oikawa snorted and they fell silent as Suga cooked. Once dinner was ready, Suga handed Oikawa his plate and sat down. The silence continued as they ate, both of them too absorbed in their food to care to try and talk. Once they were done, Suga washed the dishes as Oikawa sprawled back out on the couch, clearly ready to fall asleep.

“Go to bed,” Suga muttered, smacking his shoulder.

“Hmmpf,” Oikawa huffed, sitting up, “You can take the bed.”

“You’re sick, I’m not taking your bed,” Suga grumbled.

Oikawa rubbed his eyes and wandered upstairs as Suga settled himself back down on the couch, laying down.

Suga was woken by sunlight streaming into the room. He groaned and opened his eyes, blinking against the harsh rays. He rolled over and stretched a bit, pulling the covers back up to his chin, nestling his head into the pillow. Wait , Suga realized, sitting straight up, I’m in a bed? He looked around the room, it was definitely a bedroom and definitely not his bedroom. He froze, remembering that he had stayed at Oikawa’s. He was in Oikawa’s room. I was...on the couch, I was on the couch, how did I end up in his bed? Suga thought, frantically trying to remember if he got up at some point and went upstairs. He really didn’t remember anything after laying down on the couch last night, Oh...no...did...Oikawa...carry me?...to his bed? Suga felt his heart drop and he grabbed his phone, which was somehow on the nightstand. He noticed his team jacket on Oikawa’s desk, folded neatly. He had definitely fallen asleep with it on. He ignored all the group messages and clicked on Daichi’s contact.

suga

suga

im ignoring you now

Suga didn’t dare read the next text Daichi sent. He sat in the bed for a few minutes, before gathering himself and getting up. He really did not want to go downstairs, but forced himself to go anyways. Oikawa was already in the kitchen, perched in one of the chairs, a bowl of cereal in his hands. His feet were on the chair, making his legs stick out.

“You cannot be comfortable sitting like that, who are you? L from Death Note?” Suga muttered, slapping his hand against Oikawa’s forehead again, “But your fever seems to be gone.”

“Ow, and I don’t know who that is, but yes I am feeling a lot better, thanks,” Oikawa said.

They fell into an awkward silence, Suga really did not want to ask, but he really wanted to know.

“So, uh,” he started, as he made himself some cereal, “about last night…”

“Yeah?”

“Well, I definitely didn’t fall asleep in your bed.”

“Oh? You wanna know if I carried you to bed?” Oikawa asked, Suga could hear the smirk in his voice, he didn’t dare turn around.

“Well, I did. I couldn’t sleep and wanted to watch TV, but you were kinda taking up the entire couch,” Oikawa continued when Suga didn’t reply.

“You could’ve woken me,” Suga muttered.

“I tried, you sleep like the dead, dude. The world could have ended and you would’ve slept through the whole thing.”

“So...your solution...was to carry me?”

“Yeah? I wanted to watch TV, you’re not that heavy, it was pretty easy.”

Suga sat down, staring into his cereal, “Please, don’t ever mention that to anyone.”

“Listen, I let you wash my hair, I won’t be telling anyone.”

“You also fell asleep in the bathtub.”

“Mention that to anyone and I will tell people about how I carried you bridal style to bed.”

“Last night will be our secret.”

“Good.”

They ate in silence, leaving the dishes in the sink when they were done. Oikawa was settling himself on the couch when his phone rang, he stared at it, eyes wide, then answered it.

“Oikawa Tooru, are you fucking sick?” Iwaizumi’s voice yelled through the other line.

Oikawa gawked at the phone, placing it on speaker so he could hold it away from him, “How...how did you know?”

Suga just stood there, unsure what to do.

“You didn’t text me a play by play of Aliens Amongst Us last night, which is concerning. You literally never miss an episode, unless something has happened,” Iwaizumi huffed.

Suga slapped a hand over his mouth to keep from laughing, Oikawa gave him the middle finger, “I wasn’t feeling well, but I’m fine, Iwa.”

“Do I need to come over?”

“No!” Oikawa said, a little too quickly.

There was a moment of silence before Iwaizumi spoke again, “Is someone with you? I know your mom is still at work and your sister and Takeru are on vacation. Who’s with you?”

Oikawa bit his lip, “Uh…”

“Tell me right now or I’m coming over.”

“Okay, jeez, I’m with Suga.”

“The setter from Karasuno? How?”

“I...uh, was sick...at the camp...he took me home.”

“I swear I’m going to be the one to kill you, you went to the camp sick?”

“I didn’t think I was that sick!”

Suga snorted, “Says the one who had a fever of thirty-eight degrees !” he yelled, making sure Iwaizumi heard, Oikawa gave him a glare that made Suga think he was trying to kill him with his mind.

“Thirty-eight?! Oikawa, you’re an absolute idiot!”

“I’m fine , now!”

“Yeah, now,” Suga muttered, another middle finger.

“Well, Sugawara, are you alright, he can be difficult. I can come over and deal with him,” Iwaizumi said.

“You don’t need to be formal, but yeah I’m fine and he’s fine now, there’s really nothing to worry about.”

“...Okay. Shittykawa give him my number so he can text me if he needs to escape.”

Oikawa huffed, “You guys are mean.”

“Yes.”

Iwaizumi hung up, Suga busted into laughter, “ Aliens Amongst Us? Really? That horrible sci-fi show?”

“Shut up! You can go home now, leave me be,” Oikawa whined, throwing a pillow.

Suga caught it, “I actually can’t . I have no way home. I don’t know the buses around here and I’d rather die than call my coach.”

Oikawa shrugged, “Suit yourself, but I’m watching my show, so shut it. My mom should be home soon, so she could take you home.”

“Fine,” Suga said, sitting next to him on the couch.

The show was really terrible, but Suga couldn’t bring himself to make fun of it when Oikawa was so utterly invested in it. They sat there in companionable silence, Oikawa too invested into his show to hold a conversation. Suga kept himself occupied with his phone, pointedly ignoring any texts, he’d worry about his friends when he got home. It was nearly an hour after they had settled on the couch, when Oikawa’s mom came home.

“Oh, hi honey!” she said, beaming, “Thought you would be out practicing!”

Oikawa’s ears turned red, “Hi mom, this is Koushi.”

Suga gawked at Oikawa, who raised an eyebrow, “You said we didn’t need to be formal.”

“I was talking to Iwaizumi, Tooru .”

“ Whatever , Koushi was helping me out. I, uh, wasn’t feeling well,” Oikawa said.

“Nice to meet you!” Suga said, beaming a smile.

Oikawa’s mom chuckled, “Well that’s very nice of you, he can be...difficult, when he’s sick.”

“Why does everyone say that?” Oikawa grumbled.

“Because it’s true ,” his mom said, kissing his head.

Suga snorted and Oikawa swatted at him. Suga swatted back. Oikawa huffed and looked over at his mom, grinning sheepishly, “Hey, mom, uh, Koushi doesn’t live around here…”

“I can give him a ride home!” she said, cheerily, “It’s not a problem!”

Oikawa and Suga were in the backseat of Oikawa’s mom’s car. It was quiet, with the music playing softly from the speakers. Suga sighed, smacking his hand against Oikawa’s forehead again.

“Still no fever,” he said.

Oikawa huffed, grabbing Suga’s wrist and yanking him sideways. The two started wrestling in the backseat, until Oikawa’s mom cleared her throat. The two went still.

“No fighting boys.” she said, in a tone that meant stop what you’re doing right now.

Oikawa released Suga from the headlock he had managed to get him in, Suga flopped dramatically onto his lap.

“Koushi started it,” Oikawa muttered.

“ I was just making sure you weren’t still sick,” Suga replied.

There was a smack on his head and Suga swatted at Oikawa. His mom sighed from the front seat. Eventually, they pulled up to Suga’s house. Suga thanked Oikawa’s mom and climbed out, walking to his front door. His little brother opened it.

“Where have you been?!” his brother whined.

Suga sighed, “Good to see you too, Kota.”

His little brother craned his neck to look at Oikawa, who was staring back. Suga waved goodbye and herded his brother inside.

Suga snorted at Oikawa’s response. He tucked his phone away, since the bell was ringing for lunch. He pulled out the small bento box his mom had prepared for him, when he felt someone looming over him, glancing up he saw Daichi grinned down at him, a glint in his eyes.

“So, how was your weekend?” Daichi asked, still grinning.

Suga couldn’t stop the blush spreading on his cheeks even if he wanted to, “It was fine.”

“Uh huh, just fine?” he pried, sitting down next to Suga.

“Yes.”

“Really? Nothing interesting happened? Like...I don’t know, possibly Oikawa carrying you to bed?”

Suga choked on his rice, glaring, “Shut up, right now.”

“Holy shit, did he carry you to bed ?” Daichi wheezed.

Suga smacked his arm, “I said, shut up!”

Daichi chortled as Suga smacked him again, they fell into silence as they ate, Daichi randomly chuckling every now and then, much to Suga’s chagrin. The rest of the day went smoothly, Suga able to push the past weekend out of his mind and focus on practice. It was when practice was over and everyone was in the club room, when the conversation turned to the weekend and Suga wanted to run.

“How was the movie night?” Ennoshita asked Tanaka.

“Great! I’ve never seen Asahi so scared! I loved it,” Noya piped up.

“How was your weekend, Suga?” Daichi asked, loudly.

Suga wondered if he could get away with murdering their captain, “It was fine .”

“Is Oikawa alright?” Asahi asked.

“Yeah, he’s fine,” Suga mumbled.

“Eh, you guys talk?” Tanaka asked, eyeing Suga oddly.

Suga opened his mouth and closed it again, before replying, “Uh, yeah, I guess we’re...sort of friends?”

“Oh?” Hinata piped up, eyes wide and curious.

“I mean...we work together at the camp...and this weekend was the first time we, like, hung out outside of that, cause he was sick, but he’s not that bad. We text, but that’s it,” Suga mumbled.

Kageyama blinked rapidly at Suga, before turning his attention back to changing. Tanaka and Noya were eyeing him and Suga didn’t have to look at Daichi to know he was smirking.

“Didn’t you spend the night?” Daichi asked, clearly enjoying this.

Suga sucked in a deep breath, using all his willpower to not tackle Daichi, “Yes, but it was on accident, it was late and I just fell asleep.”

Tsukishima made a weird noise and Yamaguchi glanced down at his hands, clearly trying not to laugh. Suga took his chance to change the topic.

“Oh, c’mon Tsukishima, you can’t laugh,” Suga said, sweetly as possible, “I’ve heard how you fell asleep in the club room and Yamaguchi stayed with you, instead of going home like normal people.”

Tsukishima and Yamaguchi flushed, making incoherent noises, Suga chuckled as the others pounced on them about it. At least he was in the clear.

Camp rolled around again, Oikawa and Suga easily fell into a rhythm with the kids, setting, tossing, spiking, they worked better than they ever had. Time flew by, the camp ending in a blink of an eye, Suga was cleaning up as Oikawa eyed the volleyball basket and the net.

“Wanna hit a few sets with me?” Oikawa asked.

“No,” Suga replied, packing his bag, he didn’t need to look back to know Oikawa was pouting.

“Why not?” Oikawa whined.

“Because it is a Saturday night . Let’s go do something fun! Also, you got sick last time, so.” Suga said.

“Volleyball is fun. And that was one time!”

“It is, but there are other fun things.”

“Like what?”

Suga eyebrows furrowed together as he thought, “Karaoke.”

“...Karaoke?”

Suga did turn around now, Oikawa staring back at him like he was insane, “What?” Suga asked, “You don’t like karaoke?”

“I’ve...I don’t really go.”

“Let’s go, now, c’mon, chop chop!” Suga said, hauling Oikawa to his feet, talking fast enough that he couldn’t even give a retort.

Oikawa let Suga drag him through the streets, Suga was clutching Oikawa’s wrist in one of his hands, the other holding his bag. Suga was surprised Oikawa wasn’t protesting, just following him without a word. They arrived at the karaoke place Suga frequented with Noya and Tanaka and walked inside. The woman inside grinned immediately.

“Aw, where are the other boys?” she asked, looking at Oikawa.

“Busy, but this one hasn’t been before, gotta indoctrinate him,” Suga replied, gesturing to Oikawa.

The woman laughed, “Have fun you two, try not to be too loud.”

“I make no promises!” Suga said, grinning, as he handed Oikawa his ticket.

“So,” Oikawa said, trying to hold in a laugh, “Come here often?”

He was leaning against the door, arms crossed and a smirk, which meant Suga couldn’t get into the room, Suga rolled his eyes, “Seriously?”

“The opportunity presented itself.”

Suga snorted and shoved him out of the way, opening the door to the room. He immediately turned on the flashing lights, letting the colors light up the room as they flashed through the rainbow. Oikawa settled himself on the small couch in the corner as Suga picked up the tablet to choose a song. He glanced over at Oikawa, who looked a little awkward just sitting there.

“What? Embarrassed to sing?” Suga teased.

He was sure Oikawa was blushing, “No. But, maybe I should see how the regular does it.”

Suga snorted again, “Okay.”

He shuffled through the songs on the tablet until he found the one he wanted, pressing play. The familiar notes began to play and Suga could already see Oikawa trying not to laugh. Suga gave him the middle finger as he started singing, feeling oddly nervous.

“Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need, I need a hero, I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night, he's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast, and he's gotta be fresh from the fight!” Suga practically screamed.

Oikawa was cackling, holding his sides as Suga screamed along to the rest of the song. Once Suga finished, Oikawa was catching his breath.

“Beautiful, ten out of ten,” Oikawa said, still giggling.

“Oh? Like you could do better, O’ Great King,” Suga teased, handing him the microphone.

Oikawa rolled his eyes, “Absolutely,” snatching the microphone.

He queued up the song he wanted to play, eyebrows furrowed as he stared at the tablet. Suga thought it was somewhat endearing, how focused he could be. The song started playing, Suga blanked as Oikawa sang. He didn’t really focus on what he was singing until the end.

“No chance no way I won't say it, no no, this scene won't play I won't say I'm in love, you're way off base I won't say it, get off my case I won't say it, at least out loud I won't say I'm in love,” Oikawa sang, quite flawlessly.

Suga gawked at him, he couldn’t even make fun of him, “What the fuck?”

Oikawa stared at him, “What?”

“You...can sing? Like really well? Are you just good at everything?” Suga asked.

“Well, yes.”

Suga scoffed, yanking the tablet out of Oikawa’s hands, “I’m choosing the next one,” ignoring the way his heart was flipping in his chest. The next song started up, both Oikawa and Suga fully relaxed, dancing and screaming their hearts out, spinning around the room. A ding interrupted them a few hours later.

“Oh,” Suga said, “Time’s up.”

Oikawa actually looked disappointed as they left, the woman grinning and waving as they walked out. It was nighttime now, the street lights illuminating the sidewalk as they walked back home, passing the shops and restaurants, everything lit by the soft yellow glow.

“So,” Suga said, “Did you have fun?”

Oikawa rolled his eyes, “No.”

“Liar! Just admit it! You had fun!” Suga scoffed, swatting Oikawa’s shoulder.

“Absolutely not,” Oikawa grumbled, stopping and leaning against a wall of one of the shops.

Suga stopped and leaned against the wall next to him, “Tired?” he asked, eyeing Oikawa.

Oikawa shrugged, “A little.”

“You can play three full sets of volleyball, but get tired from singing and dancing?” Suga teased.

“Listen, we sang a lot longer than any volleyball I’ve played,” Oikawa said, huffing.

“Yeah, because we had fun , even if you won’t admit it,” Suga muttered.

“I will not admit it,” Oikawa said.

“Why are you being so stubborn? It’s okay to admit it, I won’t tell anyone, just say you had fun,” Suga teased, nudging him.

“No.”

Suga kept prodding him, “Say it, say it, say it!”

Oikawa huffed, pushing himself off the wall, turning so he was face to face with Suga. He placed one hand on the wall and leaned forward, “Make me, Koushi.”

Suga froze, their faces were extremely close. Oikawa’s expression had shifted, his eyes looked darker than usual, a small smirk on his face. Suga blanked, trying to ignore the feeling rising in his chest, the nerves pooling in his stomach, the heat rising to his face. For a moment, everything stopped, but then, the moment was over. Oikawa went a little wide-eyed, pushing himself away from Suga.

“We...should probably get home,” he mumbled.

“Oh...uh, yeah.”

The rest of the walk home was in silence.

Suga didn’t stop thinking about Oikawa leaning over him, for the rest of the weekend. He was also still thinking about it in class on Monday, completely spaced out. It was the ring of the bell that jolted him from his thoughts. It was lunch time already. Suga sighed, scrubbing his face, decidedly not that hungry.

What is wrong with me? Suga thought, glumly.

He let out a groan and smacked his head down on his desk.

“Uh, you alright?” Daichi’s voice said, from somewhere above him.

“I’m fine,” Suga mumbled into the desk.

“You’re clearly not.”

Suga lifted his head up, glaring, “I don’t wanna talk about it.”

Daichi was already sitting in the chair in front of him, facing him, “Too bad, spit it out.”

Suga sighed and placed his head back down on the desk, “Do I have to?”

“Yes.”

Suga scrunched his face, “I think...ugh, do I really have to?”

He couldn’t see Daichi, but he already knew the other boy was rolling his eyes, “Yes, because you’re face down on your desk and look like you’re about to have an aneurysm.”

Suga kept his head down so Daichi couldn’t see the red forming on his cheeks, “I think...Oikawa tried to kiss me...on Saturday,” he mumbled.

“Okay...and what makes you think...he tried to kiss you?” Daichi said, crossing his arms.

“Well...we’ve been hanging out…like...a lot.”

“Uh-huh, willingly? Not ‘cause he’s sick?”

“Listen, he’s annoyingly persistent. And no.”

“I’ll take your word for it, continue.”

“And...I dunno, we had gone to karaoke and we were walking home and we stopped for a bit...and I was just being...annoying. Then...he just was leaning over me, he had me against...a wall.”

“He...had you against a wall?”

“It’s not like...I was already leaning on the wall. He did not put me against the wall.”

“Okay. And he tried to kiss you?”

“I dunno. I mean, our faces were really close...but nothing happened, he didn’t actually do anything?”

Daichi was silent again, clearly thinking, Suga didn’t dare lift his head.

“Did you...want him to kiss you?”

Suga frowned, he didn’t have to think that hard about it, “I...Yeah. I did.”

“Okay, well...I mean…that does sound like he was aiming to kiss you.”

“But he didn’t ,” Suga muttered, annoyed.

Daichi sighed, “He probably panicked and backed out. He probably didn’t want to, I dunno, freak you out?”

“Well. I’m freaking out.”

“Because he tried to kiss you? Or because, you now realize you like him and wanted him to kiss you?”

Suga groaned, “Fuck me.”

“Sorry, I’m not Oikawa.”

Daichi yelped as Suga kicked his shin as hard as he could, “What do I do?”

“Ask him out.”

Suga didn’t think he could do that.

Suga tried texting Oikawa, acting like nothing had happened. Oikawa didn’t reply to any of his texts, though the idiot left his read on, so Suga knew he saw them. He wasn’t trying to let it bother him, but it clearly was. Throughout the week, everyone kept asking him if he was alright, especially at practice, he wasn’t playing his best and it was quite obvious. He brushed them off, saying he was fine and it was nothing, ignoring the way Daichi looked at him. It got to a point where even Ukai pulled him over, asking if he was okay, offering to try and help. Suga shut him down, he appreciated the sentiment, but he wasn’t about to explain his crush on Oikawa to his coach, he’d rather light himself on fire before doing that. He tried to not worry about it, since the Inter High Tournament was coming up. He put all his focus into volleyball practice, ignoring the fact Oikawa was ignoring him. A week turned into two and before Suga could blink, the Inter High was upon them. The nerves were at an all time high now, with every team vying to win.

Karasuno managed to beat Tokonami and Date Tech. Now, they were up against Aoba Johsai, up against Oikawa. Suga hadn’t seen him since the karaoke night, since they hadn’t had camp the following weekend due to the Inter High. Suga felt his breath hitch in his throat as Oikawa walked onto the court, looking utterly determined. Suga and him had played together and he knew he had wicked serves, but this was an official match. This was different, it was all or nothing, not just playing around. The tension on the court was palpable, nearly suffocating. It turned almost unbearable when Suga was subbed in for Kageyama, who needed a break. Stepping onto the court, it felt like walking into a different world. He could feel Oikawa’s eyes on him as they played, trying to not let it shake him. Him and Oikawa didn’t matter right now, the only thing that mattered was winning this match. The match went on and on, entering a third set, going all the way past the thirty point mark. Suga had balled his hands into fists, his nails digging into his palms. It happened so fast, but also in slow motion. He watched as Kageyama set the ball to Hinata, who spiked it, only to be blocked. The ball fell with a dull thud, in their court. The match was over, they had lost.

Suga wiped his eyes with the back of his hand. The team was crowded into the hallway, waiting for the bus. Everyone was quiet, the loss to Aoba Johsai weighing on their minds. Even Noya and Hinata were quiet, sitting next to each other. Daichi walked over to Suga nudging his shoulder.

“Hey,” he mumbled.

“Hey,” Suga mumbled back.

“How are you doing?”

Suga shrugged, “Feel like I should’ve done more.”

“Yeah, we all do,” Daichi sighed, “There’s nothing we can do now though, except to grow and move on.”

“Yeah.”

They lapsed into silence, Suga stretched his arms, sighing, “I’m going to the bathroom,” Daichi just nodded in acknowledgement. Suga walked away, hands in his pockets. He shoved the door open and stared at himself in the mirror. His eyes were red and puffy and his hair was disheveled. He snorted at himself, turning on the sink and splashing his face with cold water. He heard the door creak open and glanced up, freezing.

“Oh, hey,” Oikawa mumbled, avoiding his haze.

Suga just glared at him, going back to splashing his face. Oikawa just stood there awkwardly, before sighing.

“Can we talk?” he asked.

“Really?” Suga muttered, “You think now is the time to talk?”

Oikawa flinched, “I’m sorry.”

“You ignore me for two weeks , beat my team into the ground and all you can say is you’re sorry?” Suga scoffed, drying his hands.

“Well, I’m not sorry for beating you,” Oikawa mumbled, Suga scoffed again, “But I am sorry for ignoring you...I just...I panicked. I was...scared.”

Suga finally turned around and looked at him, crossing his arms, “Scared of what?”

“You.”

Suga blinked, “Me?”

“Yeah, I was scared of the way you look at me.”

“The...way I look at you?”

Oikawa nodded, looking down, “You look at me, like I’m somebody. Not just...Oikawa the volleyball player, but...as someone more.”

Suga opened and closed his mouth a few times, trying to think of a reply, before sighing, “You are someone more than just a volleyball player. You always have been.”

Suga took several steps forward, invading Oikawa’s space, cupping his face with one hand. Oikawa closed his eyes and pressed his cheek into Suga’s palm, his arms wrapped around Suga’s waist, pulling him close.

“Do you forgive me?” Oikawa mumbled.

Suga sighed, “I guess .”

“You guess?” Oikawa snorted.

“Yeah, guess I do.”

Oikawa huffed, resting his chin on Suga’s head. Suga chuckled, pressing his cheek against Oikawa’s chest. They stayed like that for a moment, until Oikawa gave him one squeeze and let him go.

“Uh, the next match is starting soon...so…”

Suga just nodded, “Good luck.”

Oikawa bit his lower lip, before he cupped Suga’s face, pressing a gentle kiss against his lips. Suga froze for a second, before melting into the kiss. They pulled away, both grinning.

“Well, I might have some time,” Oikawa mumbled.

“Are you seriously trying to make out with me in a bathroom?” Suga laughed.

Oikawa smiled brighter, shrugging, Suga rolled his eyes, but let Oikawa kiss him again. Suga slipped his hands to either side of Oikawa’s head, wrapping his fingers in his hair. Oikawa slid his hands down Suga’s sides, cupping his butt, before hoisting him up, placing him on the sink.

“You’re gonna make me sit in the sink? Really?” Suga scoffed, breaking away.

“Oh shut up, I’ve picked you up before, you’re not that heavy, the sink will be fine,” Oikawa replied, before pulling him back into another kiss.

Suga laughed into his mouth, running his hands through the brunette boy’s hair. Oikawa’s hands were gripping Suga’s hips, keeping them both steady. Oikawa paused a moment, tilting Suga’s chin up, before deepening the kiss. Suga sighed, his fingers curling into Oikawa’s hair.

A loud bang on the door startled them apart. Oikawa slapped a hand over Suga’s mouth, both wide-eyed.

“Oikawa, the match is starting, so get your ass out here!” Iwaizumi’s voice yelled.

Suga snickered into Oikawa’s hand as Oikawa helped him out of the sink. Suga slowly opened the door, to a grinning Iwaizumi, with a grinning Daichi standing behind him.

“You two made up, huh?” Daichi said, trying not to laugh.

Suga felt his cheeks flush, Oikawa’s cheeks were also red, “More like made out,” Iwaizumi said, unable to hide his laughter.

“Alright lover boys, Suga’s got a bus to catch,” Daichi said.

Iwaizumi was already dragging Oikawa away, leaving Suga and Daichi. Oikawa slipped out of Iwaizumi’s grasp, running back and kissing Suga one more time. Suga heard Daichi gag next to him, before Oikawa rushed back over to Iwaizumi, who was now glaring at him. Daichi tossed an arm around Suga, herding him to the bus.

“You look like a mess, and why are your shorts wet?” Daichi asked, snickering.

“Shut up,” Suga replied, “Let’s just go eat.”

~~~~~~~~~~~
Suga yanked his sweaty t-shirt off, it was finally Friday, three hours until his date with Oikawa. He had been jittery all week, the constant teasing from Daichi hadn’t helped, either. He wasn’t focused on the conversations around him, until Daichi slapped his hand onto his shoulder, grinning.
“So, what are your plans for tonight, Suga?” Daichi asked, smiling innocently.
Suga wondered if he could kill Daichi with his mind, everyone was looking at him now, “Uh...nothing?”
“Really, nothing ?” Daichi chortled.
“Shut up ,” Suga hissed, elbowing him.
“C’mon Suga!” Noya piped up, “What plans do you have that you don’t wanna tell us?”
“It’s nothing ,” Suga muttered.
“Uh huh, then why are you rushing to get out of here?” Ennoshita said, joining in.
Suga took a deep breath, “I have a date.”
The club room erupted, everyone shouting questions, excited. Suga tried to answer them as vaguely as possible, “No, they don’t go here Tanaka, no, I’m not saying who, I will absolutely not tell you where we are going and I actually don’t know what we’re doing, again, no I will not say who Hinata.”
Daichi looked utterly pleased with himself as Suga shoved past him, face red. He ignored the shouts that followed him out of the club room as he rushed home. The group chat was ringing off the hook, by the time he reached his house, mainly everyone wishing him luck. He smiled softly, they could be annoying, but his teammates would be there for him. He had a private message from Tanaka, saying he’d come save him if needed, Suga replied saying thanks, but he didn’t think that would be necessary. He put his phone down and looked through his closet, unsure what to wear.
“What are you doing?” Kota asked, standing in his doorway.
Suga looked over his shoulder at his brother, “Uh, I’m trying to decide what to wear when I go meet my friend tonight.”
Kota wandered into his room, peering into his closet, “Go something simple.”
Suga stared down at him, “I cannot believe I’m taking a four-year old’s advice.”
Kota grinned up at him as Suga pulled out a white button down and black jeans. He shooed Kota out of his room a few minutes later so he could change, when his phone dinged again.
oikawa
im outside
suga
coming
Suga was, needless to say, extremely nervous. He checked his reflection one more time before grabbing his phone and wallet and heading downstairs. Kota shouted good luck to him as he left. Oikawa was waiting for him, standing near the small gate that led to Suga’s house. Oikawa was dressed simply too, a black t-shirt and some black jeans, glasses framing his face. He lifted his head and gave a soft smile, Suga smiled back at him.
“Hey,” Suga mumbled, cheeks already red.
“Hey,” Oikawa replied, cheeks also red.
They stared at each other for a moment, unsure what to do, until Oikawa hesitantly reached out and took one of Suga’s hands in his own, tugging him closer until they were side by side.
“So,” Oikawa started, “What do you wanna do?”
Suga shrugged, looking around, “I dunno, is there anything you wanna do?”
Oikawa nodded, “I have a few ideas, but they’re surprises.”
Suga scoffed, “Surprises?”
“Yup!” Oikawa said, brightly.
Suga pouted and Oikawa chuckled, tugging him along, “Well, let’s get started.”
They walked out of the neighborhood, hand in hand, and they wandered around for a bit, idly chatting about everything. Oikawa told him about his family, how his sister lived with him and his mom and how he felt close to Takeru, thinking of him more like a younger brother than anything. He talked about how he got into volleyball, going to see the games with Iwaizumi. Suga told him more about his mother and little brother, how his dad left before his brother was even born, how he used volleyball as an escape from the fighting when he was younger.
“That’s...sad, I’m sorry,” Oikawa murmured.
Suga shrugged, “It’s better that he’s not around, he wasn’t a good father.”
“I’ll bet you’ll be a great dad, if you ever have kids,” Oikawa said, “You’re really good with the kids at camp, pissed me off at first.”
Suga laughed, “Yeah, they definitely like me better. They did before and they still do.”
Oikawa snorted, “Okay, sure.”
Suga opened his mouth to retort, but was interrupted by the loud sound of a stomach growling. Suga glanced up at Oikawa, who was wide-eyed, “Uh, Tooru, you hungry?”
“M-Maybe?” Oikawa mumbled.
Suga chuckled, “Wanna go get some food?”
“Yeah.”
They ended up at a small ramen shop, wedging themselves in a booth together. Oikawa wrapped an arm around Suga’s waist as Suga rested his chin on Oikawa’s shoulder as they scanned the menus.
“What are you gonna get?” Suga asked.
“Hm, I think I’m gonna go with this,” Oikawa said, pointing to the menu.
“Really? That’s not spicy at all,” Suga commented.
Oikawa blinked at him, “And?”
“So bland, so boring,” Suga whined, “Why would I steal food that’s bland?”
Oikawa snorted, “I’m not getting spicy food, just so you can steal it. And it’s somewhat spicy, it’s not like I want to burn my mouth, thanks.”
Suga stuck his tongue out in response, Oikawa doing the same. The waitress came by and they ordered their food, settling in as they waited. Suga pressed his cheek against Oikawa’s shoulder, Oikawa’s fingers drumming against Suga’s hip. Oikawa’s eyes flicked around the restaurant, before pressing a kiss onto Suga’s forehead. Suga blanched, pushing him away.
“What?” Oikawa whined, “Can’t I kiss my boyfriend?”
“We are not going to be one of those gross couples in public,” Suga muttered.
Oikawa snorted, “It was just one kiss on the forehead, it’s not like I’m trying to shove my tongue down your throat.”
Suga blanched again, face red, “Stop. Stop it.”
Oikawa stared at him, “Oh? Are you thinking about me shoving my tongue down your throat?”
Suga swatted his shoulder, “Shut up! Stop!”
Oikawa laughed, “Wow, I wouldn’t expect you to be so flustered.”
“Not everyone has fangirls to get used to attention,” Suga mumbled.
“Aw, is my boyfriend jealous?” Oikawa teased.
Suga swatted his shoulder again, “ No! ”
“Uh-huh, sure,” Oikawa snorted.
The waitress returned with their food, the two of them settling into silence as they ate. Suga did steal some of Oikawa’s food, shoveling the noodles into his mouth, Oikawa rolling his eyes. Once they had finished their meals, Oikawa paid, claiming he had to since Suga had paid for their snacks that one time. Suga just sighed in defeat as they left the restaurant, walking hand in hand.
“So, what now?” Suga asked.
Oikawa bit his lower lip, “There’s one place I wanna take you.”
Suga looked up at him in curiosity, “Okay.”
They walked in silence, Suga letting Oikawa lead him to a small park that was tucked into the city. Suga kept glancing up at Oikawa, who looked dead ahead, clearly focused on wherever they were going. They walked up a small hill, stopping suddenly right before they reached the top.
“Close your eyes,” Oikawa said, suddenly.
“What?” Suga asked.
“Just do it, trust me.”
Suga eyed Oikawa for a moment, but closed his eyes. He felt Oikawa place his hands on Suga’s shoulders, guiding him up the rest of the hill. He stumbled as his foot hit something, Oikawa tightening his grip so he didn’t fall, mumbling out an apology. The grass disappeared under his feet, replaced with something solid.
“Okay,” Oikawa breathed out, “Open your eyes.”
Dazzling lights greeted Suga as he cracked open his eyes, blinking a few times. He looked around, they were standing in a gazebo, painted a stark white, with ivy wrapped around it. As well as twinkling fairy lights, illuminating the gazebo against the sunset. Suga turned in place, taking it all in.
“It’s...beautiful,” he whispered, after a few moments of silence.
“Yeah, it is,” Oikawa murmured, “Iwaizumi and I used to come here all the time, we were the ones who put up the lights. We’d always come here if one of us was feeling down, knowing the other would somehow show up. It holds a lot of memories.”
“I bet,” Suga whispered.
Oikawa wrapped his arms around Suga’s waist, “I wanna create more memories here.”
“Oh?” Suga hummed.
Oikawa pulled him closer, cupping his face, Suga felt his breath hitch in his throat as he stared up at Oikawa, shining under the lights, “Yeah, can I?”
Suga nodded, Oikawa leaned down, bringing their faces together, pressing a kiss against Suga’s lips. It was soft and chaste, it was the best kiss Suga had ever had.
The training camp was incredibly difficult. Karasuno didn’t win any of the sets they played against the other teams, this is what it was like, playing nationally ranked schools. However, they had learned some new tricks, inevitably growing stronger as a team. Suga didn’t have time to text Oikawa, being absolutely exhausted at the end of each day, he immediately fell asleep after each practice. Today, however, was the last day, the parents from the schools having set up a barbeque for them. Suga was sitting with Akaashi, from Fukurodani and Kenma, the three of them had grown close during the week, since they were all setters for their schools. Kenma had joined them, saying something about needing to hide from Kuroo, who wanted him to eat more vegetables. Akaashi and Suga were sitting close to each other, shielding Kenma from view, who was playing a game on his phone.
“So, you’re hiding from Kuroo, because he wanted you to eat...vegetables?” Akaashi asked, leaning against Suga.
Kenma nodded, not looking up from his game, “He always says I don’t eat enough, but I’m fine, I eat a normal amount, him and Bokuto can eat for like...a family of eight between the two of them.”
Akaashi snorted, “You’ve got that right.”
Suga flapped his hand, swatting bugs away, “He’s just doing that ‘cause he cares about you, dude.”
Kenma shrugged, cheeks tinted pink, “I know.”
Akaashi narrowed his eyes, “Why are you blushing?”
Kenma looked up then, his own eyes narrow, staring at Akaashi, “Stop being so weirdly perspective.”
Suga was also staring at Kenma now, grinning, “I’ve never seen you blush before, is it about Kuroo?”
Kenma’s cheeks flared red, Akaashi and Suga took the opportunity, “Do you have a crush on Kuroo?” they asked in unison.
“No, shut up,” Kenma muttered, going back to his phone.
Suga plucked it out of his hands, causing Kenma to whine, handing the phone over to Akaashi, “No, we need details, spill.”
Kenma glared at them, arms crossed, “We could talk about Akaashi’s crush on Bokuto.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Akaashi deadpanned.
“Dude,” Kenma snorted, “You have like...a memorized list of what causes Bokuto’s emo modes and know exactly how to get him out of them. Also, you gawk at him. Like all the time. I thought you were going to pass out when he took his shirt off.”
Suga sat there, chortling, as Akaashi and Kenma argued about how they didn’t have crushes on their captains, “Uh, hate to break it to you guys, but you two are definitely crushing on your captains.”
“Shut up,” Kenma and Akaashi snapped in unison, faces red.
“You could tell them,” Suga said, “I’ve got a feeling that they might like you back.”
“Telling someone my feelings? No thanks, I’d rather bottle up all my emotions and then die,” Kenma snorted.
Suga rolled his eyes, “I think it’d work out, better than pining.”
Akaashi placed his head in his chin, eyeing Suga, “And what about you? Are you seeing someone?”
“Yes, actually, because I talked to them. And now we’re together.”
“And because you made out with them in a bathroom after the Inter High,” a voice interrupted.
The three of them looked up, Daichi, Kuroo, and Bokuto were standing there, grinning at them. Bokuto and Kuroo still holding the plates they had tried to force Kenma to eat. Kenma made a strangled sound as Akaashi covered his mouth in shock.
“Why did you say that?” Suga grumbled, smacking Daichi’s leg.
“Cause it’s still really funny,” Daichi replied.
“Kenma, vegetables,” Kuroo sang, trying to hand him the plate.
Kenma shook his head aggressively, “I’m fine, Kuroo.”
Suga and Akaashi snorted as Kenma glared at them. Their captains settled down onto the grass, joining their circle. Bokuto instantly wrapped himself around Akaashi, who looked seconds away from passing out. They chatted idly about the upcoming tournament and how they were all going to see each other at nationals.
“Wait,” Kuroo said, eyeing Suga, “So who are you seeing, Suga?”
“Uh, he’s from a school in our prefecture,” Suga mumbled.
“He’s the captain of our rival high school who beat our ass in the Inter High,” Daichi supplied.
“Oooh, rivalry romance, nice,” Bokuto replied.
“Kenma!” someone shouted, they looked up, it was Hinata, “I was looking for you! What are you guys talking about?”
“People we like,” Suga said, grinning, “Since you’re here, how is your crush with Kageyama going?”
Several people choked on their waters, Kuroo was cackling, Kenma looked distraught, “Shoyo, you have a crush and you didn’t tell me? I thought we were friends!”
Hinata looked utterly distressed, eyes wide, “Kenma...I…”
Kuroo elbowed the blonde boy, “Stop that, you’re gonna make the poor kid cry.”
Kenma stood, hooking his arm with Hinata’s, “C’mon, I need to know.”
Kuroo rolled his eyes, “For someone so quiet, he really is a big gossip.”
“He probably gets that from you,” Akaashi muttered.
Suga laughed as Kuroo whined. The day was winding down to an end, Karasuno packing their things and waving goodbye to everyone. They loaded the bus, shouting one more goodbye to everyone as they left, feeling confident about the upcoming tournament.
Suga rolled over onto his back, rubbing his eyes. The sunlight that poured through his window blinded him momentarily as he opened his eyes, blinking slowly. He reached out, his hand searching the nightstand, until he found his phone, which had been ringing. He sat up as he brought the phone to his ear, answering it.
“Hello?” he mumbled, sleepily.
“Wow, your voice is deep in the mornings,” Oikawa said, brightly, on the other line.
Suga glanced at the clock, “Babe, it’s nine in the morning and it’s summer, why are you awake? This is the time to sleep in.”
“I...I know, I just missed you.”
“We literally saw each other yesterday,” Suga scoffed.
“I know,” Oikawa said, a little quieter.
Suga paused, the silence hanging between them, “Hey...is everything alright?”
“Yeah, yeah! Everything is fine!” Oikawa said, a little too quickly.
Suga frowned, “Are you sure?”
“Yeah, it’s...it’s nothing, are you busy today?” Oikawa said, changing the subject.
Suga paused, not wanting to push it, “Uh, no, I’m not.”
“Wanna hang out?”
“Sure, give me like an hour to get ready.”
“Okay.”
Suga hung up, trying to shake the weird feeling that started gnawing in his stomach. He hauled himself out of bed and grabbed some clean clothes, before heading to the shower. Once he was done, he stood in the bathroom, drying his hair. Once he got dressed and headed down stairs, his mom poked her head out of the kitchen.
“Oh, honey, I got called into work, can you watch Kota?” she asked, looking frazzled.
“Yeah, of course!” Suga said.
suga
hey my mom got called into work
i gotta watch kota
oikawa
bring him along
i have takeru anyways
they can have a playdate
Suga looked down at his brother, who was staring up at him, “Wanna have a playdate Kota?”
The younger boy beamed, “Yeah!”
Suga grinned, herding him to his room so he could get dressed. He texted Oikawa, telling him they were on their way. Suga clutched his brother’s hand tightly until they made it to Oikawa’s house. He rang the doorbell and Iwaizumi answered the door.
“Oh, hey,” Suga said.
“Oikawa is on his way down,” Iwaizumi said.
Suga nodded, an awkward silence enveloping them. He could hear shouting from inside the house, Iwaizumi looking completely unbothered. The door was thrown open, Takeru standing there, eyeing Kota, who ducked behind Suga’s legs.
“He’s a little shy, Takeru, be gentle,” Suga said.
Takeru eyed Kota for a moment longer, before sticking his hand out, “I’m Oikawa Takeru! Nice to meet you!”
Kota eyed the outstretched hand, before stepping out from behind Suga and shaking it, “Sugawara Kota.”
Takeru yanked Kota’s hand pulling him into a hug, Kota squeaked as the older boy hugged him, “We’re friends now.”
“Okay,” Kota said.
Suga and Iwaizumi rolled their eyes, as Oikawa stepped out, closing the door behind him. Suga looked him up and down before doubling over in laughter.
“W-What are you wearing ?” Suga wheezed out.
“I told you those shorts are horrible,” Iwaizumi added.
Oikawa looked down at the shorts he was wearing, they were plaid with a mix of colors splatter on them, Suga thought they were the ugliest things he had ever seen.
“Shut up, I haven’t done laundry yet, these were my only clean pair,” Oikawa whined.
Suga snorted, “Okay, sure. I cannot believe I’m going into public with you looking like that.”
Oikawa swatted his shoulder, huffing, “C’mon let’s go, we can go to the park, we’ve got some bikes.”
Iwaizumi and Oikawa produced two bikes, one blue and one white. Takeru and Kota said they wanted to ride with Iwaizumi, Takeru settling himself behind Iwaizumi on the bike, Kota shoving himself into the basket in the front. Suga was glad his mom could not see this, as he settled himself behind Oikawa on the other bike, wrapping his arms around his waist.
“Alright, let’s go!” Iwaizumi yelled, taking off.
Suga rested his cheek against Oikawa’s back as he pedaled, watching the trees and buildings pass him by, the sun beating down on them. The breeze felt nice as they continued on, Iwaizumi was way ahead of them, Oikawa slowing down.
“You alright?” Suga asked, “I can take over.”
Oikawa shook his head, as they came to a stop, “I’m fine, just a little worn out.”
Suga bit his lip, but didn’t say anything, letting Oikawa take a breather, before they continued on, meeting Iwaizumi a few minutes later at the park. Takeru and Kota were already running around the playground, Iwaizumi sitting under a tree in the shade, watching them. Oikawa parked the bike after Suga got off, the two of them settled themselves next to Iwaizumi.
“Those shorts are really hideous,” Iwaizumi commented.
Oikawa stuck out his tongue in response, pressing himself against Suga. Iwaizumi stuck his tongue back out at him. Takeru and Kota ran over to them, begging Iwaizumi to play with them, hauling him to his feet. Oikawa and Suga snickered as they watched Iwaizumi get forced onto the playground, Takeru and Kota climbing on him. Oikawa slipped an arm around Suga’s waist, pulling him close. Suga rested his cheek on Oikawa’s shoulder, placing a hand on Oikawa’s thigh, Oikawa resting his head on top of Suga’s. They watched Takeru, Kota and Iwaizumi run around on the playground in comfortable silence. Oikawa and Suga glanced at each other, Oikawa using his free hand to cup Suga’s face, pulling him into a kiss. Suga squeaked in surprise, before melting into the kiss.
“Oi, you two stop making out!” they heard Iwaizumi shriek, “Help me! I’m stuck!”
Oikawa and Suga broke apart, staring at the playground, “What do you mean you're stuck?” Oikawa called out.
They could see Takeru and Kota sitting near the tunnel, laughing so hard they were crying. Oikawa and Suga approached the playground, giggling as they got closer, seeing Iwaizumi stuck in the tunnel. Oikawa climbed up to help Iwaizumi out, Suga stood there, holding his phone and recording. Suga cackled as he filmed Oikawa sitting on the platform, his feet braced against the tunnel’s entrance, gripping Iwaizumi’s armpits, trying to pull him out while Takeru and Kota shoved his feet. Suga recorded the whole ordeal, Iwaizumi finally getting out and whining about how his shoulders hurt. Suga grinned at the scene in front of him, any worries he had about Oikawa were gone.
