I've been blossoming alone over you
And I hear my heart breaking tonight

Ranboo could admit that tonight wasn't the best it could have been. And his Spotify activity was enough proof of that, with sad songs being looped over, and over, and over, until the words became less of lyrics and more of his own thoughts. Mitski's voice was both taunting and comforting, and the teen couldn't help from looping her songs for hours on end.
The sun had long set, and the moon was peeking through the window, the soft light of midnight masking his room in shades of blue.
It was 1 in the morning now. 'Nobody' played through his crappy earphones, and he laughed at how the lyrics seemed to mock how greatly he yearned to hold Tubbo close.

Do you hear it too?
It's like a summer shower
With every drop of rain singing
"I love you, I love you, I love you,"

DREAM SMP
The enderman jolted out of his sleep with a soft gasp, tongue flicking up to wipe the sleep from his dreary eyes. He mournfully stood up from the warm bed he had been in to survey where he was- it took him a total of 3 seconds to remember where he had managed to fall asleep.
He was at home. Tubbo- his husband , Ranboo realized, once he saw the matching rings- was next to him, loud snores muffled by the blanket he had hogged from Ranboo. Michael was a few rooms away, likely asleep as well, since Ranboo couldn't hear the telltale 'clip-clop's that came with the child's fast-paced steps.
Rain hit the glass panes of the windows stubbornly, and Ranboo bit at his lip at the realization that his plans to mine and raid old mansions were effectively ruined, for the day. A waste, definitely- he had planned on collecting even more precious ores to share with his husband. Sure, it was a hassle, but it was worth it to see Tubbo smile when he came home late at night with his inventory full.
" Boo ?" Tubbo mumbled lazily, scarred hands reaching at the sheets Ranboo had only just left, "Wh're'd you goooooo …"
Ranboo laughed softly, running his hands through Tubbo's bedridden hair, "Right here, 'Bo. Never left."
"Hmm, good," Tubbo slurred, blinking as he slowly woke up. He let out a loud yawn, before leaning into the warm of Ranboo's long arms. "Cold. Come back to bed, big guy."
Ranboo shook his head in exasperation, though he complied without missing a beat, holding the man close to him, letting the last clutches of sleep cling onto his aching limbs before the couple would officially wake up to tend to their son.
"It's raining," Tubbo remarked conversationally.
"Mhm."
"That means you're staying with me and Michael today. No going out. Family bonding day, hmm?" Tubbo said, sounding victorious, but Ranboo decided he would tease him, just enough to start the playful banter he had come to love.
"Hm, I dunno, my armour's working fi-"
"I hate you, shut up," Tubbo cut him off, and so Ranboo did- he closed his mouth, and stared down at Tubbo with a smile… and eventually, Tubbo cracked.
"...I don't hate you. Sorry."
"I love you too, Tubbo," Ranboo said, and Tubbo let out the softest of giggles.
He grinned widely. Sure, his memory could be dodgy at times, but above all, he'd never forget how easy it was to love Tubbo and Michael. His family. (And Michael's favorite Uncle Tommy, of course.)

"Ranboo!" Tubbo exclaimed, waving his hands around frantically- Ranboo rolled his eyes in amusement. "Dude! Me and Tommy were just about to talk to you, actually, we planned to meet at the Pubè."
"The Pub? Why?" Ranboo asked, teleporting to the bee hybrid without much of a thought, "Is it important?"
"We were gonna talk about all of our bad guy plans ," Tubbo grinned widely, and Ranboo chuckled, nodding in acknowledgement.
All three of them knew quite well that ' bad guy plans ' weren't real bad guy plans at all, at least, not yet. Simple schoolboy pranks that the three of them could get a kick out of without getting too messed up by the Crow Father.
The plans were never too difficult to achieve either- it felt like more of a group of teens hanging out and having fun, more than anything.
(Ranboo wondered why it felt so odd, as though he should be on edge, as though there was someone manipulating him… but as soon as the vague thoughts and memories came up, they faded away just as quickly.)
"What bad guy things are we gonna do today, Tubbo?" Ranboo asked amusedly.
"Arson," The other replied immediately, "Straight up."
"Okay, you've been thinking on this one a lot!" Ranboo chuckled, "What are we burning down?"
"You heart. With passion." Tubbo stated dully, though hsi eyes could show how amused he truly was, "Is my flirting working?"
"...Tubbo, we got married last week."
"Yeah, but still!" Tubbo laughed, "'Daw, damnit! Whatever. It just feels right."
"What, being married to me?" Ranboo joked.
Tubbo paused, straightening his legs out and landing on the ground. "Yes. I've been thinking a lot, Ranboo."
"Mhm, about what?" Ranboo asked idly, slowing his pace to match Tubbo's. The other walked quite slowly when he wasn't flying.
"About feelings, and memories, and romance and stuff." Tubbo waved his hand around casually, "Dunno. Feels right being married to you."
Ranboo smiled. "Yeah, I guess it feels right to me, too."
"Aww," Tubbo chuckled, putting on a different, more lighthearted tone, "Now this is true love, isn't it? I love you."
"Yes, I love you too, dear," Ranboo joked back, though in the back of his mind, he hummed in understanding. It felt like… no matter where he was, or who he was, he was just destined to fall for the other idiot.
"Race you to the Pubè?" Tubbo asked, his wings fluttering behind him. Ranboo shrugged, before disappearing in a flurry of violet particles.
"No fair!" Tubbo yelled.

TALES OF THE SMP- THE PIT
Ran had kept an eye on him since the king and his cameraman had started up the games- blue, electric eyes, and soft blond locks- it was almost impossible to imagine that he had won his round, yet he had stood strong, and now he was tending to the miniscule amount of wounds he had managed to get.
The teen glances up curiously, most probably feeling Ran's heavy gaze on him- Ran couldn' blame him. Enderpeople did tend to have such an effect.
"Hello," The blond said conversationally, standing up from the floor and approaching him, "You're here to become general, too?"
"Not quite," Ran answered cryptically, but the blond didn't seem to dwell on it.
"Oh. Well, we all have our own reasons, don't we? I'm Jackie." He introduced himself, holding out a calloused hand- Ran took it, giving it a fim shake.
"Ran." He said shortly, before glancing down at him- he expected Jackie to be put off by the eye contact, but the blond took it in stride, not even flinching. Ran cocked a brow at the behaviour in interest. "...So, you won your round, then?"
"Oh, yeah, was real easy, actually," Jackie said, sounding particularly pleased with himself, "Lagious was the guy's name, I think… I didn' get to introduce myself before killing him. Oh well. He seemed nice, too."
"Did he?" Ran asked, not curious, but all the same unwilling to end the conversation on such a dry note.
"Yeah, had an odd was of speaking, though. Might have been drunk- oh, boy, am I ever so glad I remembered that! I have a lot of experience with drunk people." Jackie nodded to himself, as though reassuring himself that he was correct in his words.
"You're old enough to drink?" Ran asked, with a dry chuckle.
Jackie shrugged. "Eh, my father dealt with drunk people a lot, got stabbed."
"I'm… sorry for your loss?" Ran frowned, not knowing how to respond to something out of the blue- but Jackie hummed, waving it off without a thought.
"I get paid to stab people now, big guy, I'm doing good." He said, "And I might become general because of it. Speaking of! If you're not here to be general, then why are you here?"
Jackie leaned forward on his heels, blond hair falling into his eyes, and Ran flicked the boy's forehead lightly. Despite having quite literally won a life or death round of some twisted game in the Pit, Jackie acted as though the soft flick had been a literal wither.
"What the fuck?!" Jackie complained.
"My history's not something I share so easily, like you do." Ran answered, "And it doesn't matter if I win or lose."
"Oh, really?" Jackie asked interestedly. "Why do you say so?"
Before Ran could answer, Porkius and Karl were stumbling down the stairs in their usual pompous manner- the camera man approached Ran, fussing about how he deserved to play- Ran resisted the urge to scoff. Play? Their lives were at stake, Jesus!
Interviews came along, and Ran found himself repeating what he had told Jackie- and before he knew it, he was lying on the cold floor of the pit, dead.
Jackie frowned when he heard the news. Though he had only met Ran a short while ago, now that he had him, losing him felt unnatural. But none of the other gladiators seemed to care. So, he brushed it off, only throwing out a short comment on Ran's absence.
"Aw, couldn't we have kept that guy around? He was cool."

PHASMOPHOBIA
Ranboo was guiding Tubbo around for tonight.
They had driven their white van all the way to some supposedly haunted house in the suburbs of a place in America in which Ranboo couldn't care less about. (Seriously, Wyoming didn't seem like all that.) But apparently, this ghost was the real deal, and the duo were pretty low on money.
Rent was due in a few weeks, and Ranboo wasn't even sure who brought the idea up first- but in a hasty attempt to raise funds, the two roommates pooled up what little money they had to buy a bunch of ghost hunting things as well as an ad on Craiglist- and boom, here they were!
In stupid Wyoming, both of them too scared to get out of the van. Tubbo seemed to shiver, even though the evening was pretty warm.
"I'm not going to get out of this car." Tubbo declared suddenly, throwing a glare towards the house as though he could sense the evil spirits inside.
"We kind of have to, man, they're paying us." Ranboo frowned, though he knew he felt just as uneasy as Tubbo.
"Fuck you." Tubbo snarked back, though it lacked any bite, what with his shaky tone.
"Thanks, but we need to kill this ghost first, or something." Ranboo replied with a sigh, grabbing his gear from the back and shoving them into his bag for easy access- an EMF reader, thermometer, spirit box, flashlight, camera- the basics. He and Tubbo had marathoned a bunch of Buzzfeed Unsolved to get a grasp on what you would need.
Tubbo himself suited up as well, grabbing his cameras and glowsticks and Ranboo's hand. The taller startled slightly at the contact, before steeling himself and squeezing Tubbo's hand in reassurance.
"It'll be okay." Tubbo muttered, and Ranboo nodded in agreement.
Around 5 tentative steps into the house, the duo could confirm that it wasn't okay at all- Tubbo dropped to the floor with a wince, pain encompassing his limbs. Ranboo gasped, immediately pulling out his EMF detector, when Tubbo let out a soft groan.
"Ranboo," He whined loudly, "I tripped."
"Oh my god," Ranboo complained immediately, "Stop. Go… shine your UV lights around, look for prints."
Tubbo got up hastily, a cheeky smile on his face as he complied- though, as Ranboo walked away, he shivered from the cold. Jesus, it was fucking freezing…
The house was actually pretty calm, from what Ranboo was experiencing. His detectors couldn't pick up anything, and he wasn't feeling anything off, other than the temperature. He rubbed at his arms consciously as he continued to aimlessly walk around the house.
It was quiet. Weirdly quiet. To be fair, though, Ranboo didn't really know what to expect from haunted houses. The only time he had been to one was at some state fair attraction by the bay area with Tubbo, who was screaming with him at the smallest jumpscares.
Quiet. Ranboo could only hear his own nimble footsteps against the creaky wood floors…
" RANBOO! " Tubbo screamed, and Ranboo yelled from the shock- loud, thundering footsteps approached, and Ranboo could barely even turn around before he was whisked away into a small and stuffy coat room, chest to chest with the very boy he had been thinking of.
"Tubbo!" Ranboo exclaimed, heart beating wildly in his chest, "Tubbo, are you okay?!"
Tubbo's eyes were blown wide, his breaths were quick and shaky, and his hands were clammy- Ranboo could spot small beads of sweat gathering at the base of his brown hair.
"A banshee ." Tubbo whispered dreadfully, "Out to get me, it's out to get me, I can't-"
Ranboo frowned, going through his mental checklist and gasping at his idiocy- he should have recohnized the signs sooner! After all, banshees only targeted one person- and if Ranboo was completely unbothered the entire night, it could only mean the ghost had targeted Tubbo.
"It's okay," Ranboo whispered, pulling Tubbo's head to his chest in a familiar manner, "It's okay," He shushed. "Let's wait for it to pass. Get your sanity back, 'Bo."
Tubbo's breaths were still erractic as he pressed into Ranboo's contact, "It- I saw fingerprints. Then, I heard it. It touched me, I- it was freezing. I checked- EMF level 5…"
"Textbook banshee," Ranboo murmured, "It's okay."
"I got pictures of my evidence." Tubbo said quietly, after a short pause. "And I feel it getting closer."
"Let's get the fuck out of here, then." Ranboo said resolutely, promptly pulling Tubbo out of the coat room and out the door, slamming it shut behind him.
And in the van, driving away at speeds that were most definitely illegal, Ranboo could see Tubbo letting out the softest of sobs, before finally turning back to him.
"I've never loved you more than in that moment." Tubbo admitted. "All handsome-like. Saving me from the big bad banshee and shit."
Ranboo let out a quiet laugh. "So, we're posting more Craigslist ads then?"
"No, absolutely not." Tubbo scoffed, "I almost fucking died."

DREAM SMP
The marriage had been hasty, both Tubbo and Ranboo could admit it without much of a fuss. It wasn't a secret that the two had decided to marry for the sake of tax benefits- in fact, it was common knowledge, something they told everyone when it was discovered that they got hitched.
Ranboo sort of regretted the marriage being as impulsive as it was, though he knew he wouldn't change it for the world. After flipping a coin with had been covered in lint from his suit pocket, he had given a half-assed proposal with a ring which was just gras rolled around to fit Tubbo's finger- and they had later gone to the Church Prime to have it be made official.
"You need a witness to your marriage," The priest had said, almost lazily, and Ranboo could remember Tubbo groaning at the statement.
"You be our witness, old fuck, listen here!" Tubbo had huffed testily, before turning to Ranboo, gaze softening in the slightest. "Ranboo, I promise that whatever riches you mine will be mine and yours, since we're doing this for tax benefits. I do."
"I do." Ranboo had replied, not quite paying attention.
"You may kiss the groo-"
They had kissed right after, but it lasted a second, and they were in and out of the Church Prime in a matter of minutes.
Their entire marriage ceremony had obviously been lacklustre, for lack of better term. Unenthusiastic and, well, half-assed. Just the way they liked it. Tubbo and Ranboo could see the charm in it, but after falling in love slowly but surely, both of them wondered how different it would be if the ceremony had gone a bit differently.

DREAM SMP
"Boo! Bo!" Michael's soft, boyish voice carried over from his room to the landing, where Tubbo and Ranboo had been discussing adult matters that Michael didn't care about. Something about dreams, or something… It didn't matter to Michael, though. What mattered was the book he had managed to get his hands on.
"Hi, Michael," Ranboo cooed softly, as the zombie piglin ran into his knees, "Oh, I know. I know. What is it?"
Michael raised up the book as high as he could, though he supposed it would have no effect- Bo's hair always covered his eyes, and Boo had to kneel all the way down to take a look at it.
"It's a princess and a knight," Ranboo remarked quietly, "What do you want to know?"
Michael shook his head, thrusting the book up once more- Tubbo snorted softly beside him.
"They're kissing, Michael," Tubbo chuckled, and Michael's eye widened in confusion.
"What's a kiss?" Michael frowned.
"It's something you do when you love someone a lot." Ranboo explained with a smile, pressing his lips against Michael's forehead sweetly. Michael grinned at the contact.
"Do Bo and Boo kiss?" Michael asked cheekily, clinging onto the fabric of Ranboo's pants.
"...Uh, yes, very much," Ranboo chuckled awkwardly, "It happens."
Tubbo gasped in indignation, elbowing Ranboo with a huff, "Don't listen to him, Michael."
"But… Boo loves you!" Michael said, "And Boo said kisses are love!"
"You heard the kid," Ranboo replied cheekily, "Kisses are love."
Tubbo rolled his eyes. "Close your eye, Magic Mike, your father and I are gonna kiss."
"Ew!" Michael laughed.

ORIGINS SMP
Ranboo was a man on a mission- after very thoroughly interviewing everyone he knew (less thoroughly interviewing Niki because of the water) he had come to the conclusion that the best marriage gift he could possibly gift Tubbo would be a bouquet of flowers.
A bit basic, but hey, the guy was literally a bee, he'd probably appreciate it regardless. Still, there was a fair bit of rules Ranboo gave himself in order to seem less cheap- they had to be good flowers. Not just ones he'd steal from the garden Tubbo already had, not wildflowers off the side of the cobblestone paths-
He had spent the entirety of the day exploring, gathering only the finest of flowers from the flower biomes he had managed to come across- but he had successfully accomplished his task regardless, a large, fanciful bouquet arrangement grasped in his right hand, while his left aided his teleport back home.
"Honey, I'm hooooome! " Ranboo called out jokingly, "And I have a gift for you!"
Immediately, he could hear the beating of wings nearing, along with Tubbo's excited hums.
"Boo! My beloved! Welcome home," Tubbo said excitedly, "I got gifts for you, too."
Ranboo smiled at the thoughtfullness, before taking the large bouquet he had arranged and presenting it to Tubbo with a flourish.
Tubbo's eyes lit up, a light blush encompassing his cheeks as he looked to Ranboo then to the bouquet in excitement. "You got me dinner! Thank you, I was getting really hungry in here."
Ranboo furrowed his brows. "Wha-"
"Makes me feel a lot worse about my gift. Here it is, though." Tubbo replied smugly, before pulling Ranboo into a soft kiss. "To our marriage, am I right?"
"...Uh, yeah." Ranboo replied, dumbfounded as Tubbo seemed to slurp up nutrients from the poor bouquet.

IRL
The airport was loud and stuffy, even more so with Ranboo's luggage worth months being dragged around in the suitcase behind him- but the weariness and fatigue of the plane ride faded away when Ranboo saw him in the crowd-
Light green dinosaur themed hoodie, blue jeans, abd the bright smile that seemed a million times brighter in person.
"Ranboo!" Tubbo yelled, lauching himself into Ranboo's awaiting hug.
"Tubbo!" Ranboo yelled back in the same manner, pulling him into a bruising hug-
No one paid any mind to the two teens sharing a sweet kiss in the middle of the airport…
"I love you," One breathed out, awestruck.
"I love you too,"The other murmured, lips pressing tenderly against lips.
...And even if anyone had paid any mind, well, Ranboo and Tubbo had a number of months and a million other lives to try again, and again, and again, and again.
(And again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again...)
