Chapter Text

It was the middle of the day and I was already tired. I was sitting next to a group of people while we worked on a project. I was zoned out and couldn't focus on doing any work. I looked out the window. The sky was clear and there were only a few clouds. Birds would fly by every so often. The bell rang snapping me out of my thoughts. I grabbed my bag and headed out.
I made my way down the stairs and my eyes caught a glimpse of a bulletin board filled with a bunch of missing people's posters. I stopped and made my way over to the board. Some of the people looked familiar but not familiar enough to remember their names. A girl came up to me and put her hand on my shoulder making me jump. I turned to her.
"Are you into this type of stuff?" She asked "I heard that the police believe that someone is behind this. " she added.
I nodded, not really listening.
"Some even say it's vampires. "
My brain caught the word vampires making me regain focus in her words.
"They say that the vampires are vicious creatures that show no mercy. Once you see one and it catches you.. You're as good as dead. "
A chill ran down my spine.
"Wanna know how they kill you? They say that they will torture you to the point were you scream for your life. But no one can hear you. Why? Well because they crush your vocal cords. So when you try to scream. No one will hear you. and then they eat you, leaving nothing but stained blood on the side of the road so no one can find you. That's why they are all marked "missing".
She whispered into my ear making my ear tingle. How am I supposed to walk home and sleep after everything she told me? Not that I believed in silly rumors like vampires.
"But those are all rumors so who knows," she said walking off.
I stared as she walked away pretending like she didn't just say what she just said.
It would have been dark soon so I decided to head home right away and not stop for a walk or go to the store just in case they were maybe a thing.

I had made it home just before it got too dark. I called out for my mom but I didn't receive an answer. I had forgotten that she had gone on a trip for a little while. It was kinda lonely but I made something to eat and checked my phone. My group had made a group chat so they could text about the project. I tried not to bother them and just did my part. I had just moved here a little ago so I didn't have any friends.

I began to cook some food as I read the group chat. It was nothing Interesting mostly just drama and "funny" jokes. I had moved my fork around the food before stuffing my mouth full.
I put down the phone and finished eating. I put my dish in the sink and put the leftover food in the fridge for later. I went to my room and laid on my bed. It didn't take long for my eyes to shut.

My phone was loud and it was going off. I slowly raised up and turned off the alarm. I looked at the time. I jumped up and began to throw my pants and shirt on. I brushed my teeth then I ran out the door and headed to school.
I seemed to make it in time as the hallways were still full of people. On my way to class I stopped to look at the bulletin board. There seemed to be a new missing persons report. Another shiver ran down my spine. I shook it off and headed to class. We finished up our project and got ready to present it for tomorrow. We all agreed that I would take the shortest reading since I don't like presenting that much. The bell rang and I headed out. I looked at the bulletin board before the same girl came up to me.
"I'd be careful tonight. " she giggled.
"Why? " I was a little scared to know.
"It's a full moon tonight. That's when the vampires are out. "
"Isn't that for werewolves? "
She stopped and looked at me confused.
"Uh well Yeah pft it can be for vampires too. "
I knew I was stupid to let her get to me. She doesn't even know the difference between vampires and werewolves. She walked off mumbling something to herself. I was a little embarrassed since I actually believed her.I walked outside and it was nearly dark out. I began walking home.
I had convinced myself that vampires aren't real and she was just trying to scare me. It worked until I heard muffled notices and shuffling in an alleyway. I stopped and looked into the alleyway but it was dark. I grabbed my phone and shined my flashlight. There was blood trailing into the alleyway. I shined my light higher to see a pair of legs. I shined it higher.
"Holy shit. " I spat out.
It was a red headed boy who was feasting on someone's blood. It turned around and quickly pinned me to the wall, making me drop my flashlight. The flash light shined light onto the person. His grip was tight on my shirt and my back ached a little. It was hard to see but there was blood all over his mouth. He hadn't killed me yet. He didn't look mean or vicious. He looked like a normal person.
His grip loosened. His eyes were wide, he looked embarrassed or maybe it was a look of guilt. He let go and dropped to the floor with his hands in his hair.
"This wasn't meant to happen. " he mumbled.
I didn't know what was happening. What the hell was I doing? I got up and ran home. I didn't turn around, I just ran straight home and fumbled with my keys and opened my door. I closed it and locked it. I ran into my room and closed my window.
“Okay langa i have no idea what the hell that was but maybe you will just wake up and find out that this is all just a dream.”
I closed my eyes and before I could calm myself a noise was heard next to me. I opened my eyes and turned to see the same red headed boy in my window.
