Will Graham survives the fall- sort of
Instead of hitting the black, icy water that beckons him, his body hits the soft sheets of his matress. Instead of dying with his arms wrapped around Hannibal, he wakes up with an iron grip around his body pillow. Instead of darkness, the light of the morning sun shines around him like a kiss from the heavens, warming him from the tips of his curls to his toes.
For a horrible moment, he thinks he's lost time again, that his encephalitis has come back full force and that he's somehow gone through the entire hospital process without remembering a wink of it.
That ends when Hannibal Lecter, comes knocking on his door with a very familiar scramble in his hands. So now he's sure he's just insane, or in Hell. and he's not sure which ones worse.
But as time goes on, Will starts to notice that things are playing out almost exactly the same as they have in the past- or is it present? Eventually, he comes to the conclusion that he's traveled back in time, and he's the only person he knows that seems to be aware of it.
Now armed with a winning hand, Will decides it's time to take his life back and make Hannibal's miserable in the process.
