The duty of a solider is not to die for his nation but to make the enemy die for his. No matter what happens, the mission must always come first. It’s what he’s been born to do. It’s what he’s been trained to do. For I am a soldier; I fight where I am told. And I am Root; I win where I fight.
And if flowers bloom on my skin like my predecessor and the legend behind his name, if flowers speak for me because my mouth can't speak, I will let the blood of my enemies cover it.
(Flowers bloom on his skin in lieu of his forced silence. This is Tenzou’s story through the years, from the moment he was found and taken in by Danzou until the present time of peace where he learns, that weapons like him can love and live too. That his loud curse, these words and emotions upon his skin is not at all a curse but a beautiful blessing.)
