Tamaki woke up with a start, and looked around as tears fell down his face. Mirio of course noticed this, and pulled Tamaki into a hug after drying his tears.
“What’s wrong babe,why were you crying?” Mirio asked as Tamaki pulled away from the hug.
“I- nightmare,” Tamaki said, grabbing and squeezing Mirio’s hand.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Mirio asked, squeezing back as a form of reassurance.
“Not really,” Tamaki responded, curling into Mirio’s arms.
“That’s alright Tama,” Mirio responded, giving Tamaki a forehead kiss. They then talked about anything that came to mind to distract Tamaki. Eventually Tamaki fell asleep on Mirio’s chest and Mirio knew that it was time to pop the question.
* A Few Weeks Later *
It had been a few weeks since Tamaki’s nightmare had happened, and Mirio was still sure that he wanted to do this. Now he just had to actually plan and do it. He took Tamaki to a butterfly garden. It was really nice to see Tamaki taking pictures and enjoying himself. Then they went to the gazebo and Mirio got on 1 knee.
“Tamaki you have been with me almost my entire life and we have helped each other through ups and downs and I can’t imagine my life without you and what I really want to ask you is Tamaki Amajiki will you marry me?” Mirio asked as Tamaki gasped.
Tamaki was stunned silent for a bit and Mirio was worried he had messed up and had done the wrong thing when,
“Yes yes of course I will!” Tamaki exclaimed. Mirio got up and slipped the ring on Tamaki’s finger then they’re lips met in a passionate kiss. There could have be a war going on somewhere in the world right now and it would matter because all that mattered to them in that moment was each other.
