Work Text:
Loki hurried into the hall after Tony and Pepper.
“Stark don’t you dare to leave me here with your offspring!” he was waving his hands desperately. Tony was wearing an elegant dark navy suit. Pepper was holding onto his arm in a stunning red gown. She looked at him worried.
“Are you sure we should leave Morgan with him?”
“Your wife is right!” Loki pushed his hair back annoyed.
“They will be locked in on this floor, so he can’t lose her,” Tony patted Pepper’s hand. “Or the other way around,” he chuckled. “He redeemed himself thousand times over by now.”
“You leave me here with this child and I might go back to my old ways,” Loki shook his finger threateningly in the air.
“Have fun,” Tony said as the elevator door closed on him and the slightly worried Pepper. Loki sighed.
“Hey,” said a high voice behind him and Morgan Stark walked out from the living room.
“So, what do you want to do child?” Loki prepared himself for the most difficult three hours of his life. And he has once tricked the king of the Dark Elves. Those glorious days…
“I will show you my room,” she said and reached up for his hand. She hung onto his finger and pulled him by that. Morgan’s room was huge. Loki himself was a prince and grew up with every toy a child could wish for but Morgan’s collection was a mighty match to his childhood bedroom. “Let’s have a tea party,” she said and navigated Loki to a small table set.
Loki looked at the chairs but there was no chance of him sitting on one of those. He sat down on the ground next to the pink table. Morgan was still barely taller than him. His strategy was just good old compliance, hoping that time might pass quicker that way.
“What wonderful tea,” he said in an agitated voice pretending to lift a cup to his mouth.
“Oh, silly we are not ready yet for the party,” Morgan said and brought over a small and sparkly tablecloth. From a box she started handing him a beautiful set of teacups and the matching spoons. Loki automatically set the table up. “Great job,” Morgan looked at the table and patted Loki’s hand. He felt some weird warmth in his stomach.
“Now?” he held one of the cups and raised an eyebrow.
“Not yet,” she took the cup from him. “We must get ready for our guests,” she brought over a makeup bag. With brush in hand, she went behind Loki. “You have really pretty hair,” she said and started brushing it out. Loki sat there frozen, staring at the shelf full of toy cars and planes. Morgan’s small hands held his head very gently as she was brushing through his curls. It actually felt pretty nice. “Green or Purple?” she asked.
“Green,” and Morgan proceeded to put a green butterfly pin in his hair. She handed him a small mirror and checked out her work. “I have matching nail polish!” she exclaimed and started digging in her bag. Loki looked at himself in the small hand mirror. He never thought he would be in a child’s bedroom in his life. But here he was. And the colour of that pin was actually gorgeous. Nice emerald green.
Morgan surfaced carrying a bottle of nail polish. She sat down on the chair next to him and took his hand. It looked huge compared to hers. She needed to hold his fingers individually as she started painting. She was concentrating so hard she stuck the tip of her tongue out without noticing it. Loki smiled at that.
When they were done Loki held his hands up and looked at his nails. They looked really good. The green matched his leather robe as well.
“You did a really marvellous job,” he said still admiring his nails. Morgan nodded in agreement.
“You need some lipstick as well,” she took out a red lipstick. “Make a kissy face,” she directed. Loki pursed his lips and she applied the makeup. For a five-year-old, she stayed considerably well in line. “Now you look like a princess,” she looked very satisfied with her creation.
“You know, I have magic. I can turn into a princess if you want me to,” he offered. He hasn’t turned female in ages but he felt like offering it to her.
“Nah,” she smiled at him. “You are a beautiful princess already,” she reached out and touched his face. Loki held her little hand against his cheek for a moment and tried to hide the tear in his eye.
“It’s your turn now,” Loki snapped his finger and Morgan’s clothes turned into a blue ballgown.
“Wow,” her eyes sparkled with amazement. Loki spined her around and she giggled as the ruffles flew with her. “You have a great eye for fashion.”
“And who shall be our guests?” he smiled down at her.
“Mr. Lee the polar bear and Mrs. Haley the rabbit,” she explained and sat down two plushies on the chairs.
“Can you think of Mr. Lee and Mrs. Haley for me?” he turned her towards him. “Close your eyes and focus on them talking and sipping tea. Can you do that?”
“Sure,” she closed her eyes and scrunched up her face. Loki touched his forehead to hers and got ready to conjure the illusion for her.

When Tony and Pepper got home, they found Loki in Morgan’s room. He was sleeping in her bed his feet hanging off at the end. He was wearing Pepper’s red high heels and a crown. Morgan was snuggled up under his arm. She was tightly hugging a snake plushie.
