George looked up at the speaker and was startled by large green eyes and a small splatter of tanned freckles. The man in front of him was gorgeous, to say the least. From the portion of his face that wasn’t hidden by a mask, George could immediately tell that this man was out of his league. Suddenly, the brunette was incredibly self-conscious of his bland crewneck and black sweats.
“I’m sorry,” the cashier apologized, “I need your items to ring you up.”
George looked down, quickly noting that his hands were still clenched around the grocery basket. Embarrassed, he nodded and handed over the food without a word.
