She beckons you forward and you move towards her without needing to think it over, too hungry for touch and comfort to deprive yourself of it because of your pride. She pulls you into her lap, holding you close and gently, and it reminds you so much of your mother it makes you want to weep.
Alcina presses her lips to the top of your head, ever so gentle, as she is with everything towards you. “My darling, you will be alright. You are safe now. It will be okay.”
You do not respond, burying your face into her side, curling your fingers around the simple white dress your lady favors. She hums at that, continuing her gentle caressing of your hair, soothing some deep ache within you that you still cannot quite name.
