Work Text:
There was a story about an old mansion in the woods that was said to be cursed many centuries ago. It was said that inside the mansion was nothing but blood and carnage, death filling every room and was on every floor. The mansion, though has been abandoned for many years, was once a beautiful home, and within the home lived a beautiful family. At first glance, many of the townspeople that first saw the mansion and the family that had moved into it all assumed they were just a normal typical family. It wasn’t until the faithful day when they all discovered the horrifying secret the family kept from everything, the secret being they weren’t even human, but vampires.
It all started when the family moved into the new home they had built in the woods of a small town. People questioned why the family built their new home in the woods, especially so far from the actual town, but the family would say that they wanted their home to have a lot of land and be surrounded by nature. Upon the mansion being completed, people were amazed by the beautiful estate. The mansion itself is painted a light blue with white trims with a light grey roof. The gardens were so colorful with a variety of flowers and plants, there was even an elegant fountain placed in the middle of the garden with a sculpture of a woman pouring water out of a large vase she was holding placed right in the middle of the fountain. The entire home was gorgeous, and the family themselves were quite beautiful as well. The husband was handsome, the wife was elegant, the little girl was adorable, and the older boy was charming.
A family that had a lot of money, was beautiful, and had a beautiful home shouldn’t cause any suspicions, right?
Well, the moment they moved into their home, something was off about the family right away. For one, the mansion seemed strange. Although it was beautiful to look at, what was strange was how it remained looking beautiful despite how much time had passed or if there was bad weather. It remained looking the same. People figured that the servants were doing a good job at preserving the home’s beauty, but someone suddenly pointed out how they never saw anyone but the family in the home. No maids, no butlers, no chefs, no gardeners, not even a stable boy.
So how was the mansion kept looking clean and beautiful if there weren't any servants? The family couldn’t possibly be doing the chores considering how large the estate was, and there were only four of them, two of which being young children. It was all very strange. People even joked that there was possibly a magic spell casted on the mansion to preserve its beauty over time, despite the harsh weather or any other natural occurrences. Of course, people laughed at the nonsense and just ended up believing that maybe there were a few servants on the property, but they mostly worked inside and the townspeople just haven’t seen any of them working outside.
However, it was still odd that no one bumped into a single servant at all as time went on. Someone should have seen or noticed someone other than the family on that estate, right?
It wasn’t just the home or the lack of servants that people found odd, the family themselves were quite strange as well. Barely coming out during the day, are seen to be active during the evening or whenever the sun has gone down completely. Not just that, but on the rare occasion the family does go out during the day, they would dress very oddly. They would wear many layers of clothing so as to not show even an inch of skin. They wore long skirts or pants, dresses that almost reached the ground, gloves, hats that covered most of their faces, long sleeved dresses, shirts, and blouses, and even scarves despite the weather being warm. When people asked them about their outfits, even wondering if they were comfortable since they were wearing so many articles of clothing on warm days, even in the summer, the family would say they had to wear this much clothing because of the rare skin condition they had. A condition where they end up being covered in rash if their skin was exposed to the sun. The clothes they wear are to protect them, that’s why they had to dress that way, despite the warm weather.
Although the answer seemed reasonable, it still confused the townspeople, especially when they wondered how on earth did the whole family obtain this so-called rare skin condition. It was truly odd.
However, despite the family displaying odd behaviors, no one paid any mind to it. They all just assumed the family were just a regular family with a different lifestyle.
It all came to head when people began going missing.
Families were destroyed, children were parentless, friends haven’t been seen in days, and neighbors have vanished overnight. No one knew what was going on as people began to go missing all of a sudden. People grew worried, believing someone was kidnapping people and comitting human trafficking. People have become so scared that most would lock their doors at night, never stayed out too long, and barely sleep for days, wondering if they’ll be the next victim to go missing. However, as everyone seemed paranoid of kidnappers coming into their town, the family of the mansion seemed calm. Too calm. They didn’t look worried that their neighbors are going missing, and though they will say their condolences and even pray that they will be okay and be found one day, their words felt almost empty, no emotion behind them, as if what they were saying was scripted. People began to grow suspicious of the family, but couldn’t find evidence nor reason if and why the family would kidnap people, especially when they had all the wealth to get whatever they wanted. It made no sense.
However, soon after people began going missing, an odd smell seemed to fall upon the little town. At first, it was hardly noticeable, some even mentioning they’d recognized the smell a few years back, but it was hardly noticeable, however, as weeks went by, the smell suddenly got worse. It had gotten so bad that people gagged each time they took a breath, some even getting sick when exposed to the smell for too long. As months went by, the smell only got worse, people were forced to close their windows, even if the weather was hot. People could barely breathe, and most were forced to plug up their noses or wear masks to block most of the smell.
No one knew what the smell was, most simply describing it as an animal that had died under the sun for years. However, the moment people walked through the woods, they noticed the smell was much stronger there. It didn’t take long for people to realize where the source of the smell was coming from.
After months of being exposed to the putrid stink, people have come to the family, demanding to know what was in their home that would cause such an awful smell, some even pleading with the family to do something about it. The family would simply reply that the smell was nothing but meat that the husband hunted, but because there was so much of it, most of it had gone bad. They apologized for the smell, and will try to deal with it as soon as possible, but said it’ll take time since there was so much. People were confused as to how rotten meat could have gone that bad to make such a smell, and wondered just how long these apparent meats have been in the home after it went bad. It confused the town, but they were so distraught from the smell that they couldn’t really think straight. Of course, the family hasn’t done much to resolve the situation, in fact, a few weeks went by and the smell was still there, even worse than before. People have begged for the family to do something, some even threatening them, but the family would simply put on a smile, and say that the situation will be handled soon. Empty promises they spoke. People knew that the family wasn't going to do a thing.
Finally, someone had enough, with everything that had been happening in town, they couldn’t take it anymore. A man decided he would head to the mansion at night and see if he can get a glimpse of what exactly is the family doing and see himself if the family were actually doing something about the smell or if they were lying through their teeth. So once it was late and most of the townspeople were asleep, the man left his home and headed straight for the mansion. Once he reached the mansion, he saw that the lights were one, so he made sure to be careful as he walked around the estate. He peeked through the windows where it showed the main foyer, but wasn’t able to see anything since none of the lights were on and it was far too dark to see a thing. The man sighed before looking through another window that showed a more lit room. As he looked around, he didn’t find anything, not even the supposed meat that had gone bad after checking the window that showed the kitchen. The man was confused. Was the family lying about the smell coming from meat? If so, then what is causing this awful smell?
Suddenly, the man noticed a small window that seemed to lead to the basement. He noticed there was some light showing there, so he figured he could check it out before he left. As the man peeked into the window, his heart froze as he saw what appeared to be the family, standing around a man that was stripped of its clothes and chained to the floor. The man froze, as he saw the family walking towards the naked man before suddenly lunging towards him, pulling at his limbs, and finally ending his life by tearing him apart. The man gasped as he saw the family licking the blood from the body parts they ripped, even seeing the youngest daughter getting down to her knees and lapping at the blood on the floor. As the man stared on, he saw that the family didn’t look like themselves. Their hands were all black while their nails were long and sharp, making them look like claws, their ears were long and pointy, their eyes were a crimson red, and if the man looked closely, he could see that the family had fangs for teeth.
The man realized the family weren’t human, they were monsters.
The man managed to collect himself and quickly ran off before any of them noticed him. Once he made it back to town, he yelled and screamed, waking everyone up. They all looked at the man before listening to what he found. At first, they all thought the man saw things wrong, was pulling their legs, or thought he was crazy, but the moment the man stated how he recognized the naked man, saying it was the baker that went missing, people realized he was being serious, especially with how desperate and panicked he had become.
Although people weren’t sure if the man was telling the truth about the family being monsters, they all knew that what the man saw was serious, especially if the man was telling the truth that the missing baker was there. If the baker was there, then that would mean the other missing people were there too, right? The people became wary, but also angry. They all formed a mob, grabbing torches, lamps, and weapons they could carry, they all began marching towards the mansion, ready to confront the family.
Once they reached the mansion, the mob shouted for the family to open the door and release the victims they had kidnapped, but they got no response. After shouting and demanding for the family to open up a few more times, the crowd had enough and began breaking the door, ready to punish the family seeing that they had already made themselves guilty by not complying.
The moment the door opened, they were met with the most horrifying sight they’ve ever seen.
Blood was splattered everywhere, corpses laid on the floor, some hung on the ceiling or pinned to the walls, dismembered body parts and heads everywhere, and there were even a few corpses split into two. So many bodies, most of which no one recognized because of how mangled the faces were. Some even noticed that some of the corpses had rotted and aged, making them realize that most of these victims were killed a long time ago.
The family has been killing people this entire time, and the townspeople were their latest victims.
Finally, the family showed themselves, no longer hiding their monstrous features. Blood was all over their mouths and clothes, they stood there, acting like wild animals ready to protect their territory. The townspeople were scared, believing they were in the presence of the devil’s servants, but they knew that if they didn’t kill the monsters now, then no one in town would survive by morning.
So after raising their torches and weapons, the mob ran in, ready to attack the monster family.
The fight was long and bloody, many of the townspeople were killed by the monsters the moment they were close. The monsters were stronger than anyone thought, but luckily for the townspeople, because they outnumbered the four of them, they managed to capture the monsters and tied them up. There they quickly went to the basement to rescue any of the surviving victims, they then poured oil all over the mansion before setting it on fire. The mob quickly left the home, leaving the family inside.
Screams could be heard from inside, loud and shrill. Everyone ignored the cries as they watched on, just wanting to see the mansion fall to the ground and crumble, only then would the nightmare be over. Many of the townspeople cursed the family for their sins, they cursed the home, they cursed it all. They continued to watch on, seeing the blue and white paint now turning black, holes were being made in the roof and walls, the gardens slowly dying until it lost all its color and was now a yellowish gray. The fountain that resided in the garden began to crack, and the water that came out now turned into a black liquid.
To the horror and surprise of the townspeople, the mansion did not fall after the flames finally died out. The mansion was still standing, but no longer appeared beautiful as before, instead, it looked cursed as the mansion began making a loud creaking noise, almost making it sound as if the mansion was groaning in pain. The people quickly left, not wanting to be near the mansion for much longer. Although the family were gone, it seemed the entire state was now cursed for all eternity.
Since then, no one visited the old mansion, even blocking off that part of the woods. People tried to go back their normal lives, and tried to forget about the family and the cursed mansion, but it has proven impossible as the mansion would constantly remind them of the nightmare they had witnessed, for every night while many have gone to bed, people swore they could hear the scream and cries of the family in the distance, and whenever the wind blew hard enough, the mansion would loudly creak, making it sound as if the mansion was groaning in pain.
Still, even after people swore to never go near the mansion again, there have been a few brave souls that were curious about the cursed mansion, and would sneak back to the woods to check to see if the mansion was cursed. Whenever someone saw it, they got an eerie feeling from the place, some even mentioned that with the gentle wind blowing through the mansion, it almost made it seem as if the entire mansion was breathing, as if it was alive. However, what frightened them the most was when they would notice a pair of red eyes staring at them from the upstairs window before quickly vanishing. Many ended up running away when they saw the crimson red eyes, believing it was the ghost of one of the family members, though know one was certain if that was a ghost, or something else. Though...many have said that once they left, they could still feel a pair of eyes watching them as they left.
Time moved on and more and more people seemed to forget about the family over time, some even saying that the whole event was nothing but a story. Sooner or later, people ended up forgetting about the family and the haunted mansion completely, only hearing about it as a scary story being told every now and then. Many began to believe there was no monster family, and that the whole event was fabricated or was told differently from how it really happened, if the events were actually true. Life moved on, as well as time.
However, despite time moving on and all those who were there when it happened have already passed away, and people not knowing about the story, there was one person that knew what happened, what really happened that night, and as they watched the world change right before their eyes, they wondered when would be the right time for them to come out from hiding and revealing the actual truth of what really happened.
In the end, there wasn’t much they could do, especially since leaving their home would be too much of a risk, despite wishing they could leave their already broken down home. All they can do is watch through the shattered windows from the upstairs floor, watching the world through their crimson red eyes.
Tweek was late, really late. He cursed that his alarm clock didn’t go off, even though he swore he set the alarm yesterday.
“Fuck fuck fuck! Clyde is going to kill me,” Tweek exclaimed as he kept running for school. He could already see that Clyde was messaging him, asking where he was, and if he was coming. Tweek quickly replied that he’ll be at school soon, just to meet him at his locker, and that he brought the issue like he asked. After Tweek pressed send, he ran faster to school.
Tweek soon made it and let out a sigh, already exhausted from running so early in the morning. He quickly headed inside and rushed towards his locker, there he saw Clyde, Token, and Jimmy, waiting for him. Clyde looked a bit angry as he tapped his foot and had his arms crossed, and Tweek let out a sigh as he walked over to them.
“I’m here,” Tweek said.
“You were supposed to be here like ten minutes ago!” Clyde said.
“Sorry, I guess I forgot to set up my alarm,” Tweek said, “but it’s not so bad, we still have like...fifteen minutes before the bell rings, plenty of time to at least read the first and second chapter, right?”
“I guess,” Clyde pouted, “...so you have it, right?”
Tweek sighed before opening his bag and pulling out a comic book from inside, “the latest edition of ‘Vampire-Man’ the superhero that is a vampire. He’ll suck up the blood of any criminal,” Tweek smiled.
“Sweet,” Clyde exclaimed, his eyes lightening up. He took the comic book and began to read.
“I seriously don’t understand how you two can even like something like that,” Token sighed as he stared at Clyde, “especially when the whole premise of the comic is that a vampire ends up being a superhero and fights crime...by sucking people’s blood?”
“Not people, criminals!” Clyde exclaimed.
“Doesn’t matter since in the end...some vampire guy is acting like a vigilante and is walking around and sucking someone’s blood in the name of justice,” Token sighed.
“I-I-I feel this c-c-comic lacks e-e-ethics,” Jimmy said.
“No, it’s super cool, dark, mysterious, and at times has pretty good punchlines,” Clyde said.
“It’s still a dude that sucks people’s blood for a living,” Token sighed, “how is he even a superhero when he’s doing something that no superhero would do.”
“Well if superheroes could suck the blood of the bad guy, they’d have less crime to deal with,” Clyde said.
“If superheroes started sucking the bad guy’s blood, they’ll definitely get some horrible disease,” Token sighed.
“You guys just don’t appreciate the culture of vampires! They’re so cool, suave, and super strong!”
“Oh yeah, sucking blood, turning into a bat, and sleeping during the day is so cool,” Token sighed.
Clyde frowned, “Tweek! You tell them how cool vampires are!”
“M-me? I uh..um...well...the history behind vampires are quite interesting, a-and if you think about it, vampires are a cultural icon in a lot of film and TV series, so even if they can be a little...ridiculous at times...it’s still a known monster that people know everything about! Heck...a lot of movie directors even go as far as expanding the idea of vampires or even adding or changing vampires for a more modern take in their movies,” Tweek said, “like uh...like Twilight!”
Clyde frowned, “never mentioned that garbage movie! That is not a real vampire movie!” Clyde shouted.
“I mean...they have vampires, so...pretty sure it is a vampire movie,” Token said.
“It’s not a real vampire movie! What vampire takes part in teen melodramas? Or turn all sparkly when exposed to the sun!? Vampires aren’t supposed to be sparkly! Nor should they look that handsome!” Clyde shouted.
“....You’re still upset that Bebe went on that movie date with Chad where they saw Twilight together, aren’t you?”
“....If she wanted to watch a vampire movie, I could have easily taken her to see a real vampire movie instead of that garbage...or at the very least...gone with me to see it instead of going with Chad,” Clyde said, looking ready to cry.
“Just face it dude, Bebe is just not into you or your vampire crazed fandom,” Token said.
“O-or how you have an unhealthy obsession with s-s-s-sucking p-p-people’s blood,” Jimmy said, “r-r-r-remember when we were k-kids and we were p-playing superheroes, and Clyde d-d-dressed up as a mosquito themed superhero?”
“Oh yeah, and Clyde kept making those weird blood sucking one liners,” Token said, “....man...what the fuck was wrong with you when we were little?”
“I-I just wanted to dress up as a vampire that time, but Cartman said that a vampire themed superhero was lame, so I went with the second best option!” Clyde said.
“That still doesn’t make it okay to comment about how delicious someone’s blood looks. It’s just gross,” Token said.
The bell suddenly rang, and the four boys looked up. Clyde frowned, seeing he barely got to read half of chapter one.
“Man! Now I’m gonna have to wait to see if Vampire-Man is gonna save Ms. Jane from the evil clutches of Dr. Garlic!” Clyde said.
Tweek sighed before smiling, he patted Clyde on the back, “knowing you, you’ll just read it during class, you’ll be fine,” Tweek said.
“Tweek, is it okay if I hold onto this issue a little longer?” Clyde asked.
“....” Tweek sighed, “fine, just please don’t get caught reading it, I really don’t want this one to get confiscated, okay?”
“No worries, I’ll be extra extra extra careful,” Clyde grinned. He then rushed off to his class.
Token sighed, “why are you two so obsessed with vampire stuff anyways?”
Tweek smiled awkwardly, “well...I just like the whole lore behind vampires, as much as I like most of the vampire films I’ve seen with Clyde. Although...I might not be as enthusiastic as Clyde,” Tweek said.
“And that’s a good thing,” Token sighed, “we don’t need another person talking about blood drinking and some gross shit like that.”
“R-right,” Tweek said, squirming at the thought of blood being sucked by someone.
Tweek has always been curious about vampires, always enjoying the lore and history behind the idea of vampires, loved every movie and shows that featured vampires, including Twilight, not that he’ll ever admit that to Clyde, and he is quite fond of the idea of what would happen if vampires were real. Would they actually be like how they’re portrayed in films, or would they be completely different? Although Tweek knew that having this question is pretty pointless since vampires aren’t real, he couldn’t help but feel curious. Of course, if vampires were real, Tweek was sure he would be scared since no matter how much he admired vampires, if he ever met a vampire in real life, he knew his life would be screwed since vampires are more known to be the villain of any story, film, and more, and there’s only been a rare occasion where they are actually portrayed as good. Imagine if Tweek actually met a good vampire, he would ask them so many questions...as long as they never asked to drink his blood.
Tweek headed to his first class, which was history class, and immediately went to his seat. Once he sat down, Wendy turned around and greeted Tweek with a smile.
“Morning Tweek,” Wendy said.
“Morning, Wendy,” Tweek said with a small smile.
“So...did you hear?”
“Hear what?”
“Well duh, we’re getting a new student,” Wendy said.
“A new student? This late in the semester?” Tweek wondered.
“Seems so, Annie heard it from Nichole, who heard from Bebe, who heard it from Heidi where she overheard the administration office talking about a new student coming to school,” Wendy said.
“And...you sure the new student is coming today?” Tweek asked.
“Seems so,” Wendy said, “though it’s strange, this is a small town and this is the only high school in town,” Wendy said.
“Yeah, so?” Tweek asked.
“Well it’s just...it’s weird to have a new student all of a sudden, especially since there wasn't any news of a new family moving into town,” Wendy said, “at least not that I know of. It’s almost like this new kid popped out of thin air or something,” Wendy said.
Now that Wendy mentioned it, it was strange. Everyone Tweek grew up with were all attending South Park High since it was the only school up in the small mountain town, so how were they getting a new student when there was no mention of a new family moving in?
“Alright right everyone, settle down and be seated,” Tweek’s history teacher soon arrived and stood by their desk, “alright, now that you’re all settled in, I have a quick announcement before we get started on today’s lesson. Today, we will be having a new student to our class, so I want you all to be on your best behavior and treat the new student with respect, got it?”
“Yes, sir,” everyone in class said in a monotone voice.
“Alright,” the history teacher then walked towards the door and called for the student to come in.
As the history teacher stepped to the side, a boy with black hair, pale skin, wearing a blue jacket, and a blue chullo hat with a yellow pom on top came into the room. Everyone in the room froze, amazed by the boy’s beauty. Some of the girls were giggling to each other as they stared at the new student, some even whispering that the boy looked like a fairytale prince. Tweek just sat there, staring at the boy, surprised by how beautiful the boy was, it was almost unnatural with how beautiful the boy was.
“Alright, would you like to state your name?” The history said, clearing his throat as he stared at everyone to be quiet.
The boy had his head tilted down when he came in, so when he lifted his head to stare at everyone, everyone fell silent as they stared at the blue eyes the boy had. A lot of Tweek’s classmates began to blush, even Tweek himself felt his cheeks getting red.
“....Hello,” the boy said, his voice was deep, and slightly nasally, a little different from what people thought his voice would sound like, but that didn’t stop a few girls finding it almost adorable. The boy cleared his throat a bit before speaking once more, “I’m Craig Tucker, and uh...I just...moved to your town recently, and now I’m attending your school...I guess,” the boy said, though the way he said it made it sound like he was unsure, as if what he said wasn’t entirely true, at least that’s what it sounded like to Tweek.
The class clapped once Craig was done introducing himself, and the boy looked down, hiding his eyes from everyone. The way the boy stood there and the manner he spoke, it seemed odd to Tweek, made him think that the boy was hiding something, but Tweek thought that was ridiculous, and it was his paranoia that was making him think that way. Tweek had to remind himself that not everyone is doing something suspicious just because they’re doing something that seemed odd to him.
“Very good, Mr. Tucker. Now, since we didn’t really expect a new student in the middle of the year, we’ll have a desk ready for you by tomorrow, for now...why don’t you take that empty seat in the back over there.
Tweek froze, realizing the only empty seat in the back was the seat next to him, closer to the window. Craig nodded and silently headed towards the table, not looking at anyone as he walked. Everyone looked at him, some girls wishing they could see his face clearly since Craig was looking down and his bangs were slightly covering his eyes. Once Craig reached the seat, he sat down and stared ahead, everyone blatantly looking at him the moment he sat down, even Tweek was looking at him, though he was being more discreet about it.
“Alright alright alright! You can all chat with the new kid after class, but now we have a lesson to get to, so I want you all to have your eyes forward and pay attention,” the history teacher said.
A few people groaned before turning around and looking forward. Tweek did the same, but would occasionally glance back at the new kid, suddenly feeling nervous to have a very handsome and charming looking boy sit next to him.
“Alright, now that I have your attention, today, we will begin our lesson about the American Civil War,” The history teacher said before looking at where Craig was, “Mr. Tucker, since you did just join our class, I don’t expect you to know everything right now, but if you do know a thing or two about the Civil War, feel free to raise your hand,” the history teacher said. “Now...can anyone tell me what the Civil War was and when did it start and end?” The history looked at everyone, but no one raised their hands. After a minute, the teacher frowned before sighing, “did none of you do the required reading that I told you all to do last Friday?”
“....” No one responded, just ignored the teacher or stared blankly at the teacher or the board.
“God...I know most of you think history class is boring and think you don’t need to know about American history in your lives, but learning about history is very important, especially if we all want to avoid making the same mistakes our ancestors made all those years ago. We all need history in order to learn how our country became what it is today. We need it to get inspiration on how we can improve in the future, we need history because one day we’ll be history, and future generations will be very interested in the impact we’ve made today!”
“.....” No one was listening nor did they really care about the little inspirational speech the teacher was giving.
“....” The teacher sighed in annoyance.
Suddenly, Tweek noticed that Craig held up his hand, staring blankly at the teacher. “Can I answer?” Craig asked.
The teacher was surprised to see Craig raising his hand, “oh...uh...sure. Go ahead,” the teacher said.
Craig stood up and looked at everyone before speaking, “The American Civil War began in 1861, and ended in 1865. The Civil war was a war between the north states, which are called the Union, and the southern states, which were called the Confederates. The main reason for the war was the opposing status on Slavery. For the North, they wanted to abolish it, while the south wished to continue slavery, even expanding it in the recently aquired lands that the Americans achieved after the events of the Mexican-American War. Many lives were taken that day, including many African Americans who managed to participate in the war and joined the north side. In the end, the Union won after the confederate general, Robert E. Lee surrendered to the the union general, Ulysses S. Grant on April 9, 1865. Many things happened during the war, the Emancipation Proclamation that was signed by Abraham Lincoln, where ending slavery was the war goal for the Union,” Craig said without making a single mistake and sounded very confident as he spoke.
Tweek was amazed.
“...Well...that’s...correct. You must really know a thing or two about history, huh?” The teacher asked.
“...I guess...you can even say I lived through it all with how well I know everything there is about American history, including the exact number of how many people died in that war, or the gruesome horrors the war left as lives were taken on the battlefield,” Craig said.
“....Oh...ha ha ha...it’s always nice to have someone with a sense of humor when it comes to history,” the teacher smiled, “well thank you for answering, Mr. Tucker. See class? If you all studied your history books a bit more, than you can be like Mr. Tucker here, and I wouldn’t be so ashamed of all of you right now,” the teacher said, “now...why don’t we go into more details about the war, which includes the many losses and wins, the number of states that were taken by either the Confederates and the Union, and Abraham Lincoln’s involvement with the war.”
As the teacher went on with the lesson, and most people were already droning out, Tweek looked at Craig, causing Craig to look at him blankly. Tweek smiled.
“That was quite impressive, Craig. You sure knew a lot about the Civil War,” Tweek said.
“Well like I said...I’ve seen it happen before my eyes,” Craig said.
“...Ha ha ha, sure you did,” Tweek said, “you’re quite funny, Craig,” Tweek said.
“.....I’m serious,” Craig said, his blue eyes piercing at Tweek.
Tweek froze, seeing the intense look that Craig was giving. Tweek began to laugh nervously, but kept smiling at Craig, “ah...wow...you sure are going to stick with that joke, huh? For a second there, you looked like you were actually being serious,” Tweek said.
“....Believe what you want,” Craig said, “but you have no idea how many friends I saw die on those battlegrounds,” Craig muttered, “honestly...I’d probably have joined them in the war if my body didn’t look like a ten year old around that time…”
“....Huh?” Tweek dropped his smile and stared at Craig, confused, and a bit weirded out.
Craig looked at him, his blue eyes staring straight into Tweek’s green eyes. For a split second, Tweek felt a chill go down his spine, and he felt as if he was being suffocated by those eyes.
“....Just kidding,” Craig said with a smile, “of course I was joking, I wasn’t even alive at that time, dude. You should have seen your face when you thought I was being serious,” Craig said.
“Oh...ah...ha ha...you got me,” Tweek said nervously, forcing a chuckle.
“Sorry if my sense of humor seems...weird to you, it’s just how I joke sometimes,” Craig said.
“Ah, it’s fine, your way of telling a joke is quite...unique,” Tweek said.
Craig nodded, “well then...if you like my jokes so much, then I hope we can become great friends,” Craig said.
“Oh….uh...yeah...sure! I’d...um...like that,” Tweek said, “my uh...name is Tweek by the way.”
Craig smiled, “it’s nice to meet you, Tweek,” Craig said.
“Tweek, Craig, no talking over there, and pay attention,” the teacher said.
“A-ah! Sorry,” Tweek said as he turned his head back.
“Sorry, sir,” Craig sighed before dropping his smile and was once again staring at the front with a blank expression.
Tweek would still make the occasional glance at Craig, feeling that there was something odd about Craig. Even though Craig said he was joking, a part of Tweek couldn’t help but think he actually meant it, and it didn’t help that Craig’s smile when he said he was joking didn’t seem real, it almost looked forced.
“....Eyes to the front, Tweek, wouldn’t want the teacher to get angry again,” Craig said, catching Tweek staring at him, but didn’t turn his head at all.
Tweek flinched and blushed in embarrassment, “s-sorry,” Tweek whispered before looking down at his notebooks. He could hear a slight snort from Craig before the two fell into silence and tried their best to listen to the teacher.
For a handsome and charming boy like Craig, Tweek couldn’t help but think the boy was somehow...strange.
After Tweek’s first and second class had ended, Tweek was now walking in the hallways during the short break between periods. As Tweek was heading to his locker to drop off his books and pick up the books he needed for his next two classes, he stopped when he saw Clyde at his locker, looking nervous.
“Hey Clyde, what’s wrong? You look like you’ve done something really bad and are now feeling guilty because of it,” Tweek said.
“Oh...uh...um...well uh...you know…” Clyde said.
“....Clyde, what did you do?” Tweek asked.
“....Okay...just don’t get mad,” Clyde said.
“Clyde,” Tweek frowned.
“Nnng...okay...I was reading the Vampire-Man comic during my algebra class, and...uh...well...I was caught reading it by Mrs. H, and now she has it, and won’t be able to return it until the last day of this week,” Clyde said.
“W-what!?” Tweek exclaimed.
“I’m sorry! I tried to convince her to give it back after class or by the end of the day, even said that I’d take detention, but she said that this was the third time I wasn’t paying attention, and said that she’ll be keeping the comic until Friday, and that I’m getting detention either way,” Clyde explained.
“Clyde! I explicitly told you to not get caught reading it during class!” Tweek exclaimed, “and you and I both know how strict Mrs. H is! Ugh! Now I have to wait until Friday to get my comic back,” Tweek sighed.
“It’ll be fine, Friday is only three days away, you’ll get it back in no time,” Clyde said.
“Ugh...that’s not the point, Clyde!” Tweek sighed, “I’ve been looking forward to reading that comic, and now I’m gonna have to wait until Friday to actually read it! Not only that, but my stuff didn’t get confiscated because it was my fault, so this is really infuriating,” Tweek huffed.
“I’m sorry,” Clyde said, “I promise, I’ll make it up to you! I’ll buy you lunch! Even get you a milkshake if you want!”
Tweek sighed, “forget it,” Tweek said, “it’s pointless to get angry over a comic,” Tweek said, feeling very disappointed.
“Something wrong?” The two jumped when they heard someone talking to them, they turned around and Tweek saw it was Craig, staring at them with those gorgeous blue eyes of his. “Hello, Tweek.”
“H-hi, Craig,” Tweek said.
“Woah...dude...you’re like….super hot! Er uh...not in a homo way of course, but...you’re super hot! You could be like a model or something!” Clyde said.
Craig looked at Clyde before smiling, “thank you, I’ve heard people saying that more than once today,” Craig said, “it’s very odd since I’m not sure how I’m qualified to be a...model...you called it?” Craig said, looking confused. Tweek was surprised that Craig had no idea what a model was.
“Well you totally qualify since you got the face, the hair, the eyes, and probably a smoking bod,” Clyde said.
“Oh...well...thank you for the compliment,” Craig said.
“No problem, bro!” Clyde grinned.
Craig nodded before looking at Tweek, “you seem upset about something, is everything okay?”
“Oh...uh...well-” As Tweek was about to say what was wrong, Clyde cut him to it.
“Well...Tweek here let me borrow his comic book to read today, the series is called Vampire-Man, it’s about this vampire who becomes a superhero, and they like fight crime while sucking the bad guy’s blood in the name of justice!” Clyde said.
Tweek blushed at the way Clyde was describing the series, even if that literally was what the whole premise of the comic was, “I...er...wouldn’t word it like that...but that’s basically what the story is about,” Tweek cleared his throat.
“Yeah yeah, anyways, I was reading it during my algebra class when our super strict teacher caught me reading it and confiscated it, now we’re gonna have to wait till Friday to get it back, which totally sucks since I still haven’t finished reading it!” Clyde said.
Tweek sighed, “but the real issue is the fact that my property was taken away from me, even though I did nothing wrong,” Tweek said.
“I said I was sorry, Tweek! I even offered to buy you a milkshake,” Clyde whined.
“...I see...so your property was taken, even though the owner, which is you, had not done anything for it to be taken unfairy, and it’s mostly this person’s fault that it was taken from you in the first place, yes?” Craig asked.
“I said I was sorry!” Clyde looked ready to cry.
“Y-yeah, basically,” Tweek said.
“Hm...I see...well that is a real shame,” Craig said. Tweek looked at Craig, feeling the guy was very odd at that moment, mostly for how formal Craig was speaking to him. Tweek wondered if Craig’s parents made him act polite too his peers or something.
“Yeah...but it’s not so bad, I’ll get it back by Friday, though I wish I could just get it back today instead since I haven’t even gotten a chance to read it yet,” Tweek sighed.
“....You must really enjoy that comic series,” Craig said.
Tweek blushed, feeling embarrassed, whenever he told someone about his love for vampires related things, people always found him weird or acted uncomfortable. It’s why Tweek would normally be hesitant when telling people about his little hobby.
“Ah...well..er...even if the story itself can be weird at times, I just love vampires,” Tweek said, “n-not in an obsessive way of course! I’m just really interested in the lore and history behind it, kind of way,” Tweek said.
“Really?” Craig asked, “well it’s nice that someone is interested in vampire history, especially when so much of the media has painted vampires completely wrong,” Craig sighed.
“Eh? What are you talking about?” Clyde asked.
“Exactly as I said it,” Craig said, “you really think that vampires would do most of the things you see in movies? Shapeshifting, turning into a bat, or being sensitive to the sun? It’s all such fictional tales,” Craig sighed.
“I mean...I guess not...but then again, vampires are fictional as well, so it doesn’t really matter what vampires can and can’t do since vampires aren’t real,” Clyde said.
“....Right...right…” Craig said, “vampires aren’t real,” Craig cleared his throat, “they are just fictional monsters that drink blood and stuff,” Craig said.
“Exactly, and besides, even if some of the stuff about vampires in movies can be a bit too much at times or seem odd, it makes the films more interesting that way...as long as it’s not Twilight,” Clyde huffed.
“....Twi...light?” Craig stared at him in confusion.
“It’s a popular vampire teen movie, you’ve never heard of it?” Tweek asked, “it already has five movies and four books, though the books also have two more like reimagined or companion novels to the original story,” Tweek said.
“I see,” Craig said, still looking confused.
“Trust me, dude...do not get involved in that franchise, it’s nothing but fan service galore,” Clyde said.
“Come on, Clyde, Twilight isn’t that bad,” Tweek sighed.
“Don’t you betray me too, Tweek! You’re my only vampire loving brother I have, and I can’t let you go to the dark side!” Clyde said.
“You’re over-exaggerating,” Tweek sighed.
Craig chuckled a bit, “you two seem very interested in the world around vampires, huh?”
Tweek blushed in embarrassment, “uh...I guess you could say that, I am a bit of a vampire nerd considering how much I love the vampire history and lore behind them, and not just the movie adaptation of vampires throughout the years,” Tweek said.
“That’s nice, it’s nice to see people interested in knowing everything there is about vampires, it’s almost...cute,” Craig said.
“C-cute?” Tweek blushed, “o-oh...I don’t know about that...I mean...I know how much people think it’s odd how much I'm obsessed over vampires and imagining what they’d be like if they were real,” Tweek said.
“Really? Well...what do you think vampires would really be like if they were real?” Craig asked.
“Oh...you wouldn’t want to hear me talk about that,” Tweek said.
“Of course I do, I’m quite interested, very interested,” Craig smiled.
“....Oh! Um...huh...you must really like vampires too then if you’re this curious as well,” Tweek said.
Craig looked at him, once again, his dazzling eyes seemed to almost pierce through Tweek, causing Tweek to feel a chill down his spine, “you can say that, you can also say that I myself am a bit of a vampire nerd too, just like you,” Craig said.
“Oh...well um...hey...if you ever want to talk about vampires or even join Clyde and I on our vampire movie weekend, you’re free to join, o-of course it won’t just be us two, we’ll also have our other friends, but they aren’t as into vampires as much as we are,” Tweek said.
Craig smiled, “that sounds fun, I would love to join.”
“G-great!” Tweek said.
“And...I wouldn’t mind reading those...what did you call it? Vampire-Man comics? Seems interesting, and I would love to see how those comics portray vampires,” Craig said.
Tweek blushed, seeing the smile on Craig’s face, “um...sure...I can lend you the first issue some other time if you like,” Tweek said.
“That would be nice,” Craig said.
The bell soon rang and it was time for the boys to get ready for class. Craig looked at the two and put on a smile, saying his goodbyes.
“Well, I’ll see you around,” Craig said before leaving.
“See you!” Clyde said.
“....Bye,” Tweek said.
Once Craig left, Tweek and Clyde began heading to their class they shared in this period. As they were walking, Tweek couldn’t help but think about Craig, finding him very charming when he smiled, but couldn’t shake off that something was off about him.
“Man, it’s amazing that we got to meet another vampire enthusiast, and he’s even handsome too! Er uh...I’m only saying that because I know that if he joined our little vampire club, more chicks are totally going to want to hang out with us! Now there will be two charming guys that the ladies are going to be totally impressed with,” Clyde said.
Tweek frowned, “what do you mean two?” Tweek asked.
“N-nothing, dude. I’m just saying...Craig and I have a certain charm that makes us...hot, while you have this certain charm that makes you look totally adorable! Chicks also love adorable guys too!” Clyde said.
“Gee...thanks,” Tweek sighed. Tweek then thought about Craig again, and really can’t get over Craig’s looks, especially his mysterious and piercing blue eyes that both made Tweek blush, but also made him feel...scared.
It was finally lunch time and Tweek had gotten his food and was sitting with his friends. As the group were eating, Clyde looked up and saw Craig walking into the cafeteria.
“Hey Craig! Come sit over here!” Clyde exclaimed.
Tweek blushed, “w-why are you calling him to sit with us?” Tweek asked.
“Why not? He’s a fellow vampire lover like us! And we vampire lovers gotta stick together, yeah?”
“S-still, are you sure it’s a good idea? I wouldn’t want him to make him feel uncomfortable since he is the new kid after all,” Tweek said.
“It’ll be fine, you already saw how much he liked talking to us earlier,” Clyde said, “besides, with his looks and him sitting with us, there’s bound to be girls wanting to come sit at our table too, and maybe even the popular kids! There’s a chance we’ll be popular, dude,” Clyde grinned.
“I highly doubt a guy’s looks will make us popular, Clyde,” Token said.
“Y-yeah, how handsome can the new k-k-kid be?” Jimmy asked.
“Hello Clyde, hello Tweek. Good to see you two again,” Craig said, now standing at their table. Tweek was surprised by how fast Craig came to their table when he was on the other side of the crowded cafeteria before Clyde called for him.
“.....” Both Token and Jimmy stared at Craig, also shocked when they saw Craig’s face and his dazzling blue eyes. Both of them began to blush before they shyly introduced themselves.
“Um...hi...I’m Token Black, it’s nice to meet you,” Token said.
“Y-yeah, n-n-nice to m-m-meet you, I’m J-Jimmy Valmer,” Jimmy said.
Craig looked at the two before smiling, “hello. I’m Craig Tucker. Nice to meet you,” Craig said, “you must be the other friends that aren’t technically vampire fans, correct?”
“Um..y-yeah, I guess, though we don’t really mind watching vampire movies,” Token cleared his throat.
“Y-yeah, vampire f-f-f-films can be quite entertaining,” Jimmy said.
Craig smiled, “aren’t they?”
“Dude, come sit with us!” Clyde said excitedly.
“Sure,” Craig said before sitting at their table, sitting between Clyde and Tweek, “....so...this is what school lunches look like in today’s society,” Craig muttered.
“What was that?” Tweek asked.
“Oh...nothing, it’s just...I’ve never seen school lunches before,” Craig said.
“You...haven’t?” Clyde asked.
“No...I was um….homeschooled before my parents finally allowed me to attend here,” Craig said.
“Why’s that?” Token asked.
“Oh...we had some...political issues where we’re from, and finding a decent enough public school was...difficult back then,” Craig said.
“...Back then?” Tweek asked, “so it’s gotten better now?” Tweek asked.
“Oh...uh...yes, but my family were already planning to move by the time things were finally cleared up where I’m from, so I still haven’t gotten a chance to see what a public school is like until now,” Craig said, “so...I apologize if I’m not very used to some of the things that happen in public schools,” Craig said.
“Don’t worry, you’ll get a hang of it in no time,” Clyde said.
“Yeah man, life in public school isn’t that hard nor different from your life in general, just a lot of studying, tests, homework, and stress,” Token said.
“Though I will s-s-say, where exactly are y-you from where s-s-s-schooling is technically bad?” Jimmy asked.
“...Oh...um...you never heard of it, it’s this small town that’s not very known...and it’s pretty old and hasn’t really gotten used to modern technology.”
“Really? That’s weird, but I guess if I think about it, our town is pretty weird itself,” Clyde said.
“By the way, Craig...where exactly is your house?” Tweek asked, “considering how small this town is, I didn’t notice a moving truck nor a for sale sign in any houses I’ve seen,” Tweek said.
“Oh...um...well...my home is actually not really in town...technically. It’s actually pretty deep in the woods,” Craig said.
“Woods? Man, the walk to school must be killer,” Clyde said.
“Yeah, and I’m surprised you were able to get a home anywhere close to the woods considering how many wild animals live up in the mountains,” Token said.
“Oh...I’m not worried,” Craig said, smiling a bit. However, the smile on Craig’s face didn’t seem right, and Tweek couldn’t help but wonder what Craig was thinking. “Ah...by the way...Tweek...the teacher who took your comic book...was her name Mrs. H?” Craig asked.
“Huh? Oh...uh yeah,” Tweek said, “Why do you ask?”
“Oh no reason, I just checked my schedule and saw that my last class is algebra, and was just curious if my algebra teacher will be Mrs. H or someone else, I was actually thinking of maybe convincing Mrs. H to return the comic book for you,” Craig smiled.
Tweek’s eyes widened before he blushed, “o-oh! You don’t have to do that, it’s fine, really,” Tweek said, “besides, Mrs. H is pretty strict, even if you’re the new kid, she won’t go easy on you no matter how polite or sweet you are to her,” Tweek said.
“Yeah, and even your good looks won’t convince her either! I’m pretty sure that woman is made of steel for how cold she treats everyone, even to her own husband!”
Craig smiled, “we’ll see about that,” Craig said. Tweek looked at him in confusion, but shrugged it off.
As the group began eating, Craig pulled out his bag and pulled what seemed to be a thermos. Craig unscrewed the thermos and poured out a thick red liquid into the cap of the thermos.
“Hey...what’s that?” Clyde asked, noticing the odd drink.
“This? It’s juice,” Craig said.
“You’re only having juice for lunch?” Token asked.
“Oh...um..I’m actually on a liquid diet. Doctor’s orders,” Craig said.
“Oh, okay,” Clyde said, “what flavor is it?” Clyde asked.
“...Flavor?” Craig asked.
“Yeah, the juice! What flavor is it? And can I have some? I love juice,” Clyde said.
“Oh...you wouldn’t like this, it has some medicine in it, and the taste can be quite bitter and strong at times,” Craig said.
“Medicine? Are you okay?” Tweek asked.
“Ah...yes, I’m fine. I just have a medical condition that requires me to have a more liquid diet for a while,” Craig said.
“I see, well I hope you’re okay, dude,” Clyde said.
“Yes, I’m perfectly fine, thank you,” Craig said as he placed his thermos down onto the table and took a sip of his drink from the cap.
When Tweek leaned forward to take a bite of his sandwich, he noticed there was a metallic scent coming from Craig’s thermos. “Hey...why does your thermos smell metallic?” Tweek asked.
“Oh? Probably because my thermos is made of metal, is the smell bothering you?” Craig asked.
“No, it’s not,” Tweek said.
“Ah, good. This is actually my favorite thermos, so I hope the metallic smell doesn’t bother you too much,” Craig said.
“It’s good,” Tweek said with a smile before he continued to eat his sandwich. Even though he said that, he wondered why the metallic smell was strong, especially since all of his metallic thermos he owned never smelled that strong. Not just that, but he felt as if the smell was stronger from the inside than the outside.
It was very strange.
School was finally over, and Tweek had walked out of the building with Clyde next to him. They were waiting for Token and Jimmy to come out so they could get something to eat and probably work on their homework together, but suddenly, Craig showed up and walked over to the two.
“Hey Craig,” Clyde said.
“Hey,” Craig said with a soft smile. Craig suddenly rummaged through his bag and took out a familiar comic book, “here you go,” Craig said.
Tweek was surprised, “w-wait...what!? How’d you get this back from Mrs. H!?”
“I just convinced her to give it to me,” Craig said.
“But dude...how!? She’s like the wicked witch of the west! How were you able to convince her to give you the comic book!” Clyde exclaimed.
“I guess I was just very influential,” Craig smiled.
“I...er...um…” Tweek felt his cheeks getting warm, “thanks, Craig.”
“No problem, and I hope you won’t let more of Tweek’s property get confiscated again, Clyde,” Craig said.
“Ha ha...I’ll try my best,” Clyde said.
Finally, Token and Jimmy got out of school and headed towards them. Once the four were together, Clyde turned to Craig and had a huge grin on his face.
“Dude, you should totally hang out with us right now, we’re planning to get pizza in school, and we can even help you familiarize the town a bit,” Clyde said.
“Dude, are you asking him to come hang out with us because you want him to join us...or are you using him to get more chicks to talk to us?”
“....A little of both,” Clyde grinned. Token sighed. “How about it?”
“If you’re not busy that is,” Tweek said.
“...I got nothing else to do aside from the homework I received,” Craig said.
“Great! Then we can all work on our homework together while munching on some delicious pizza,” Clyde said.
“Ah...dude...did you forget about Craig’s liquid diet?” Token asked.
The group paused before staring at Craig. Craig looked at them before smiling a bit, “relax, it’s not like I’m only eating liquids. I can have solid foods every now and then,” Craig said.
“Oh...well sweet! You’re gonna love the pizza and the restaurant in this town! It’s the bomb!” Clyde said.
“Can’t wait,” Craig said as he followed the group.
“....” Tweek stared at the comic book that Craig managed to get back for him, and smiled. “He’s such a nice guy,” Tweek muttered.
“Tweek! Let’s go!” Clyde said.
“A-ah, coming!” Tweek said as he shoved his comic into his bag and followed the group. As they were walking, Clyde talking to Craig, Token, and Jimmy, Tweek looked around, seeing all the students that were outside getting ready to go home or do something after school. As Tweek was following the group behind, he suddenly noticed that in the parking lot was Mrs. H, looking odd. She seemed to be in a daze, and looked very pale. He wasn’t walking straight, and looked very listless as she walked towards her car. Tweek wondered if she was sick. “....?”
As Tweek looked forward, he paused when he noticed that Craig was also looking at where Mrs. H was. Tweek started to feel uneasy when he saw that Craig was smiling as he stared at Mrs. H before he glanced over at Tweek. Tweek flinched and quickly smiled at him before looking forward. Craig doesn’t say anything and simply walks with the others.
As soon as the group reached the pizzeria, they all ordered a classic pepperoni pizza for them to share, along with some mozzarella sticks. As they all sat down and waited for their food to arrive, the group took out their homework and began to work on some of it together.
“Okay, Toke...need your help with my English homework,” Clyde said.
“You’re just going to make me give you all the answers, Clyde,” Token sighed.
“Come on, please?”
“We don’t even have the same English class, so your English homework would be completely different from mine,” Token said.
“Okay okay...how about a hint?” Clyde asked, Token just groaned in annoyance.
As the two were arguing and Jimmy was doing his work, Tweek was having issues with his history homework.
“Need any help?” Craig asked.
“Huh?” Tweek looked up and saw that Craig was staring at him with a smile. Tweek blushed as Craig’s blue eyes were looking at his green eyes, and he couldn’t help but realize just how close they were.
“You look like you’re stuck, need any help?”
“Oh...um...I’m fine, I’ll just find the answer from the book,” Tweek said as he opened up his history book.
“....That’s just going to take longer, I know the answers, so I can help you with that one question you seem to be having trouble with,” Craig said.
“....Well...okay, b-but if you need help with answering questions yourself, feel free to ask me! I’m actually quite good in algebra,” Tweek said.
Craig smiled, “sure, a fair trade then,” Craig said.
“Ha ha, yeah! A fair trade,” Tweek said as he pushed his paper towards Craig and listened to Craig’s answer and explanation. Tweek smiled a bit, kind of enjoying listening to Craig’s explanation on history, he was so detailed, yet it wasn’t too hard for him to understand. Tweek chuckled a bit to himself, seeing just how much Craig seemed to like history if he’s this detailed.
After getting a quarter of their homework done, their food finally arrived and they decided to take a short break and enjoy their food for a bit. Clyde quickly grabbed two slices and began to chow down, while Token looked at him annoyed.
“Dude, careful! You’re gonna get cheese all over my paper,” Token huffed as he grabbed his homework and placed them in his bag for safe keeping.
“Sorry! It’s so good!” Clyde exclaimed before grabbing a mozzarella stick and dipping it in the marinara sauce.
“S-s-s-slow down, Clyde, o-or else your g-g-g-gonna choke,” Jimmy said as he took a sip of his soda.
Tweek just chuckled and nibbled on his pizza. He looked over at Craig, who stared at his slice, looking a bit confused.
“Aren’t you gonna eat it?” Tweek asked.
“Oh...um...yes, of course,” Craig said before picking up the slice and taking a whiff of it. Tweek glanced at him, confused as to why Craig was looking as if he never had pizza before in his life.
“Dude...have you never had pizza before?” Tweek asked.
Craig looked at Tweek before chuckling nervously, “honestly...this is my first time,” Craig said.
“Huh?”
“First time having pizza!? How is that possible!?” Clyde exclaimed.
“W-w-were your p-p-parents s-s-s-super strict with what foods you can and c-c-can’t eat or s-s-s-something?” Jimmy asked.
“Oh no, it’s just...because of my dietary restrictions,” Craig said.
“Oh, because you have that medical condition?” Tweek asked.
“Yep, that’s it,” Craig said.
“Well my friend, you are going to love this! Pizza is like the greatest food ever! Right next to tacos of course,” Clyde said, “go ahead and take a bite!”
“....Okay,” Craig said as he lifted up his pizza slice and took a small bite. His eyes widened, and you could see the sparkles within them.
Tweek nearly choked on his soda when he saw Craig’s face, it was both hilarious, but incredibly adorable, especially when Craig went on to eat the rest of his pizza slice before grabbing another slice.
“Ugh...why must good looking people be so cute?” Tweek muttered as he felt his cheeks warming up.
“Hey guys, how is your food?” The waitress that brought their food earlier came by to the table to check on things.
“It’s great, as always,” Clyde said.
“Yeah, pretty good, and I think Craig is enjoying his pizza very much,” Token said as Craig was already on his third slice.
“That’s great fellas,” the waitress smiled, “oh, by the way, we’re doing a little promotion where if you order food that costs more than twenty dollars, you get a free basket of garlic bread! Enjoy,” the waitress placed the basket right in front of Craig before leaving.
When the waitress was putting down the basket, she didn’t notice that Craig was about to reach for a fourth slice before the basket almost touched Craig’s hand. Craig retracted his hand, cursing before leaning back in his seat.
“Gah!” Craig suddenly let out a hiss before covering his face with his arms.
“Woah! Dude! No need to react to garlic bread like that,” Clyde said.
“Y-yeah, s-s-s-something wrong?” Jimmy asked.
Craig flinched before turning his head away and clearing his throat, “s-sorry...I just...I’m very allergic to garlic,” Craig said.
“Is it that bad?” Token asked.
“Uh...kind of...I end up getting a rash if I even touch the stuff or anything that contains garlic,” Craig said.
“That’s too bad, we’ll keep the basket away from you and make sure no garlic bread touches you or the food,” Clyde said.
“Thanks,” Craig said as he calmed down as the basket was moved away from him.
“Guess there’s more bread for us!” Clyde licked his lips as he picked up two sticks and began to munch on them.
“....” What did Tweek see? The moment Craig leaned back, Tweek saw something before Craig covered his face.
Craig’s eyes, they changed color. Even if it was only a split second and Tweek didn’t see it that well, he was pretty sure he saw Craig’s blue eyes turning red very briefly.
“...Tweek? You okay? You seem pale,” Craig said.
“Oh...uh...I’m….” The moment Tweek saw Craig’s eyes on him, he couldn’t look at them the same way as before. It almost felt as if Craig was looking through him, and the thought was making Tweek feel more uncomfortable by the second. “....I don’t feel so good, I think I’m going to head home now,” Tweek said.
“Huh? You were fine just a moment ago,” Clyde said.
“Well I suddenly don’t feel so well, I guess the slice I ate didn’t sit well with me,” Tweek said as he quickly packed up his things.
“Oh...well do you want us to accompany you home?” Craig offered.
“No!” Tweek exclaimed before he looked around and saw that everyone was surprised to hear him yell. Tweek cleared his throat and spoke in a gentle tone, “I mean...no need. I’ll be fine going home on my own. You guys enjoy yourselves and I’ll see you guys tomorrow,” Tweek said as he grabbed his bag and began to leave.
“Okay, see you tomorrow, Tweek,” Clyde said.
“See you,” Tweek said before looking at Craig, and seeing that Craig was staring at him blankly. Tweek gulped before smiling and waving at Craig before he finally left the restaurant.
“.....”
Later that night, Tweek was in his room after he finished showering. He was drying his hair and trying to relax, but he couldn’t stop thinking about what happened earlier.
“Were my eyes playing a trick with me?” Tweek wondered, “I must have been seeing things, there’s no way Craig’s eyes turned red,” Tweek said. He sat down on his bed as he dried his hair with a towel, “...then again...he’s been giving me a weird feeling when we met,” Tweek muttered, “he’s so polite for a teenager...and he’s so detailed with his history answers, most of the stuff he said weren’t even in the textbook! It’s almost like he actually experienced firsthand those events,” Tweek muttered.
Tweek sighed, seeing that he was being more and more ridiculous. So what if Craig was a bit odd, lots of people are odd, especially the really cute ones.
“....” Tweek blushed as he remembered all the smiles that Craig gave to him, and how his eyes seemed to stare straight through him.
Still, no matter how handsome and cute Craig was, something was off about him. At times, Tweek noticed how whenever Craig talked about himself, it didn’t sound like he was being honest, or that Craig was making things up on the spot. It was also weird that Craig didn’t know what school lunches were or has never tried pizza before. Sure, Craig made up some sort of excuse, but as Tweek thought about it more, even those excuses sounded like a lie.
Still, why would Craig lie? If Tweek didn’t know any better, he would think that Craig was trying to hide something about himself, something that he didn’t want anyone to know. Still, what would Craig be hiding if that were the case?
Tweek sighed as he laid back on his bed and stared at the ceiling, “....ugh...why am I feeling like this? Lots of people are different and weird in the world, but can still be a nice person...so why does it feel like Craig reminds me of someone?” Tweek muttered. “.....!” Tweek quickly sat up as he suddenly remembered something. He turned towards his bookshelves before rushing over and looking at the books that were there. He looked around until he found the book he was looking for. “Here it is!” Tweek shouted.
The book he was holding was a short story called “The Family’s Secret Within the Mansion.” It was a well-known story in town for many years, and it was actually this story that got Tweek interested in vampires. The story was about a small town that was being terrorized by a family of vampires. Of course, no one knew that the family were vampires until the climax. The story would describe the family as being beautiful and elegant, but exhibiting odd behaviors that at first were small, but ended up being more and more noticeable the more the family interacted with people. It soon came to head when an awful smell seemed to befallen the town, as well as the fact that people were going missing. People realized the smell was coming from the family’s home, and after someone sneaked to the home to see what the family were doing, they discovered the family were kidnapping the townspeople and drinking their blood, revealing they were vampires. The story soon ended with the vampire family dying in their burning home after the townspeople tied them up and set the place on fire, but it was said that people would still see someone on the second floor, staring at them from the broken window with their red eyes. The story said it was a ghost of the family members, but wasn’t fully sure.
Tweek remembered liking this story after his parents gave it to him one day, they told him how the story was supposedly based on true events, that everything that happened really happened, of course, Tweek’s parents laughed, wondering where people got the idea that the story was actually true, especially considering vampires aren’t even real. Tweek didn’t really care if the story was real or fake, he was just really interested in the story.
However, Tweek didn’t search for the book to read it for old time sake, he brought it out because he remembered there was something written in the book. Tweek looked around before he finally found the section of the book that goes into great detail on each of the family member’s appearances. Tweek searched around until he found the section he was looking for.
The eldest son was described to have dark hair, dazzling blue eyes, and would have a blank expression for the most part, but still had a lovely smile that would melt anyone’s heart. The boy was also described to be quite charming, almost like a prince to many of the young ladies of the town. His stunning looks have always made many girls and boys that were around his age stop and admire his looks. The boy was known to be quite polite, always smiling, and people tend to get lost in his eyes whenever he looks at someone. A perfect son he was, people would say, a well-mannered young man. Even if the boy would not always know everything, such as not knowing anything about the popular candies of the time or has never seen one of the popular plays that were being shown at the town’s opera house, he was quite knowledgeable when it came to history and politics of that time, so much so that it surprised a lot of historians who didn’t know some of the details the boy would describe about certain events. It was quite amazing considering the boy barely left his home during the day, and would sometimes be seen standing by a window on the second floor. Although the boy was well-mannered and seemed very nice, deep inside, he was nothing but a sadist. He enjoyed tormenting his victims, manipulating people, and using his powers to make people do whatever he wanted them to do. It was said that before the townspeople realized he was a monster underneath that kind smile of his, he would use his hypnotic power to make people do his bidding, of course, people won’t remember being hypnotized, and will spend the next day feeling sluggish, unaware of their environment, and have very little energy to do anything for awhile. How the boy would hypnotize his victims was by staring into his victim’s eyes, if the two stayed staring for a long time, the victim will soon lose control of their mind and body, allowing the boy to do whatever he wants with them, and usually it was to have the victim kill themselves or commit horrible acts just so the boy would make himself seem like a saint after he acts like the hero and stops the victim from their ‘crimes.’ The boy would use his hypnotizing powers to lure many victims into the mansion, where he and his family will then kill them, or slowly drain them of their blood. It was described that whenever the boy found a human that had the most delicious smelling blood he ever smelled, he would act more closer towards them, being nicer, and making it seem as if the boy was interested in them, and once the two lock eyes, he will then bite into their necks and slowly suck the human’s blood, making it more painful and horrifying to the human as they slowly die in the boy’s arms and aren’t able to escape.
“....” Tweek read the passage over and over until it finally hit him. The similarities between Craig and the vampire boy in the story were too much to be considered a coincidence. The way that Craig knew history so well, how Craig lacked understanding of certain things, how Craig was far too polite for his age, and how Craig was so handsome, it was almost unreal. The more Tweek saw the similarities and compared them to some of the subtle things he saw earlier, such as Craig drinking a strange red liquid that smells metallic, being careful around garlic, and how his eyes changed from blue to red, there was no doubt about it.
Craig was the vampire boy from the story.
“Holy shit...vampires are real!” Tweek shouted.
Tweek was tense, and it didn’t help that he stayed up since last night. No, Tweek couldn’t sleep because the realization he had yesterday was shocking, it was still shocking as he was walking to school and being very wary of his surroundings.
At first, Tweek didn’t want to believe that Craig was a vampire, saying that he was being silly, that just because he’s very similar to the vampire boy from the story, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a vampire or even the boy that loved to torment and manipulate people from the story….right?
Tweek shook his head and tried to think about the situation a bit more, he wanted to double check if Craig really was a vampire or if his imagination was getting the best of him. As Tweek thought about all the things that Craig has done so far, Tweek started to notice there were a few things he did that a vampire could and would never do. For one, Craig was okay when the sun was up, Tweek didn’t see any pain on Craig’s face, or saw any abnormalities on his body. At first, Tweek thought that maybe his clothes were providing Craig protection from the sun, but that didn’t make sense since his hands and entire face was exposed, so it wouldn’t make sense that a vampire would be walking around when the sun is still up, nor would it make sense for a vampire to walk around during the day without the proper protection.
Another thing Tweek remembered from the day before was the fact that Craig had a reflection. He remembered how when they were walking in town, Tweek saw Craig’s reflection in a few windows of a couple of shops and buildings, not just that, but Tweek remembered a girl taking a few secret pics of Craig, and Craig’s image was clear on the photos.
“.....” Tweek started to wonder if he should report that girl for taking pictures of someone without their consent.
Wait, that wasn’t the point, the real point here is that there’s a chance Craig really isn’t a vampire, and that all the things he saw that would indicate he was a vampire was just a coincidence or his active imagination making him paranoid. There’s no way Craig was a vampire.
“....Then again...vampires having no reflections or can’t walk in the sun is more of a movie interpretation of what a vampire is like, if Craig was a real life vampire, then maybe some of the stuff that are shown in movies don’t actually portray real life vampires,” Tweek muttered. He froze, “oh god...then I have no idea what he’s capable of! He could have many hidden powers, and might even be stronger than I thought! Oh my god, he could easily kill us all! We’re all going to die!” Tweek panicked.
“Why are we all going to die?”
“Gah!” Tweek jumped and turned around, he went pale as he saw Craig was standing behind him, staring at him blankly. “C-Craig! W-what are you doing here?” Tweek asked, cursing that Craig found him, he was planning to avoid Craig as much as possible, and possibly ignore him during class, he didn’t think he’d see Craig so soon.
Craig tilted his head before putting on a small smile, “well I go to school here, so...it would make sense that I’d be here,” Craig said.
“No...I mean...erm…” Tweek looked away, feeling scared and didn’t want to make Craig feel suspicious of him, “just...do you need something?”
“No? Why? Do I need to have a reason to talk to you? I thought we were friends considering how friendly we were yesterday,” Craig said.
“...F-friendly?” Tweek suddenly remembered the part of the story where it said the vampire boy would be nicer and try to be closer to a human that had the most delicious smelling blood. As Tweek thought about it, Craig was acting much friendlier towards him yesterday, even going out of his way to get his comic book back for him. Did that mean the reason Craig was being so nice to him was because he thought his blood tasted good. Tweek flinched and was sweating, he placed his hands around his neck, trying to cover them up, but tried his best to make it look like he was just rubbing the back of his neck or stretching his arms and neck a bit. “Um...of course we’re friends, Craig, and friends don’t need to have any reason to talk to each other...and real friends would be there to support the other and never ever ever ever hurt them, whether that be emotional...or physical...such as biting someone’s neck hard enough that it would draw blood!”
“......?” Craig stared at Tweek in confusion, “what are you talking about?”
“....I...I have no idea,” Tweek said.
“Well...um...I’m glad we’re friends then, Tweek. I really like you and like being your friend, and I was hoping you felt the same way...especially since you’ve been staring at me a lot since yesterday,” Craig said.
Tweek blushed, he guessed Craig noticed how many times Tweek stared at him. Well Tweek couldn’t help it, for a vampire, he was really good looking, but still, Tweek wasn’t going to be swayed by how handsome Craig was, he needed to focus on the real situation at hand, and that is the fact that there is a living and breathing vampire in his school, and he wasn’t sure how he was going to expose him or at the very least, tell someone about it without Craig getting angry and probably using his vampire powers to kill everyone or wipe their memories. Either way, if Tweek wasn’t careful, everyone, especially him, would be killed.
“Ha ha ha...yeah...sorry for staring at you so much, it’s hard not to when you’re so handsome,” Tweek said.
Craig smiled, “thank you,” Craig said before looking into Tweek’s eyes, Tweek froze as stared at those blue eyes of his, “I’m glad we can be close friends, Tweek.”
“....!” Tweek quickly turned away and avoided looking into Craig’s eyes. For a second, he felt that he was in a trance when Craig was staring at him. “Y-yeah! Close friends! Great friends! Best friends even!” Tweek exclaimed, “oh...look at the time! I gotta get going since I have...stuff to do...with one of my classes,” Tweek said, “s-so...I’ll see you later, buddy!” Tweek said nervously, his entire face was drenched in sweat before he turned and was about to leave.
“....Did you see it?”
Tweek froze. He couldn’t see Craig’s face because he had his back towards him, and he was too afraid to turn around. “S-see what? I’m not sure what you’re talking about, Craig,” Tweek laughed.
“.....”
“Ah...um...I-I gotta go, I’ll see you later, Craig,” Tweek said, then quickly walked away. Once Tweek was far away from Craig, he let out a sigh, but was still panicking. “Oh god...why did he say that? Does he know that I know? Oh god! What if he’s suspicious of me now!? He’ll kill me if I make one wrong in front of him! Oh god….is he watching my every move? Is he watching me now!? Dear god, what do I do!?” Tweek panicked, he felt like crying.
As much as he loved learning about vampires, this was just too much for someone as easily scared of everything like Tweek. He wasn’t sure he could take the pressure if things continued on like this.
Still, he couldn’t let this vampire hurt his friends and family, nor anyone in town. It was now up to Tweek to get rid of this vampire and possibly save the entire town.
So after school, Tweek decided to watch over Craig, and maybe find any weaknesses or what Craig is capable of. Since Tweek couldn’t just rely on movie vampires for info, he’s gonna need to see just exactly what Craig could do.
“Another school day is over, boys!” Clyde exclaimed, “so...how about we go get tacos?”
“Sorry, can’t. I got to go home today,” Craig said.
Tweek flinched and looked over at Craig, this was a perfect opportunity. Tweek knew that Craig wouldn’t be able to use his vampire powers unless he was alone and thinks no one is around. So as long as Tweek stayed hidden and followed Craig, he might actually see some of Craig’s powers….or at the very least confirm whether or not Craig was actually a vampire or not.
“Ah! I actually can’t join either! My parents had scheduled my shift early today, so I gotta get to the coffee shop now,” Tweek said.
“Oh, okay, then we’ll see you two tomorrow,” Clyde said.
“See you, guys,” Tweek said, waving his friends goodbye.
“Bye,” Craig said, waving at them as well.
Once they were gone, Craig turned and began to leave, Tweek also turned and started to walk in the same direction, but Craig stopped and turned back to Tweek.
“What are you doing?” Craig asked.
“Uh...going to work, like I said,” Tweek said.
“But...wasn’t the coffee shop the other direction?” Craig asked.
“Oh! Was it? Silly me! I guess I was so distracted because of your handsome face,” Tweek grinned.
“.....” Craig stared at him blankly before smirking, “do you like my face that much?” Craig asked as he stepped closer and leaned forward, his face was very close to Tweek’s.
“.....” Tweek’s face went red at how close he was, and he could feel his heart beating fast, “y-yeah…” Tweek sighed, feeling all warm inside, but quickly snapped out of it as he remembered what he was supposed to be doing, “er...I mean...it’s alright,” Tweek said.
Craig chuckled, “well...I gotta go home now, I’ll see you around, Tweek.”
“S-see you! Bye!” Tweek said.
“....”
“....”
“...Aren’t you going to leave?”
“Oh...um...well aren’t you?” Tweek said.
“I am going to leave, but it’s weird that you’re not leaving yourself...especially when you said you had to be at the coffee shop right away,” Craig said.
“Right! Because...my parents need me! Almost forgot!” Tweek smiled nervously, “I’m going now! Look at me go! Leaving this way! The opposite direction of where you’re going! So this is goodbye, so you can go now and not look this way any longer!” Tweek exclaimed as he began walking the opposite direction.
“....Right...see you, Tweek,” Craig said before turning and began leaving.
Tweek quickly turned back around when he couldn’t hear Craig’s footsteps, he began to follow Craig from the distance, making sure to hide himself from view just in case Craig decides to turn around or notices something. “Alright vampire...let’s see what you’re made of,” Tweek said as he was prepared to stop this vampire’s tyranny and save the town from having their blood sucked.
Tweek followed Craig to the other side of town until they reached the forest area. Tweek watched as Craig continued to walk down a dirt path, but the more they walked into the woods, the more Tweek became confused and worried. Craig did say his house was deep in the woods, but Tweek didn’t think it was this far.
“...Huh? Where’d he go?” The moment Tweek stopped for a second to catch his breath, he looked down at the ground, when he looked back up, he was surprised when he couldn’t see Craig anywhere. “He couldn’t have gotten that far already! I was only looking away for two seconds! Did he turn somewhere!? Where is he?” Tweek panicked as he lost his target.
“....Tweek?”
Tweek froze. He turned around and much to his horror saw Craig standing behind him now. “H-how did you-”
“Why are you following me, Tweek?” Craig asked, his expression completely blank, which made him more terrifying to Tweek.
“I...I...wasn’t...following you…” Tweek said.
“Don’t...lie,” Craig narrowed his eyes.
I flinched, realizing that I was caught and would be in a lot of trouble unless I do something, “o-okay...I was following you, b-but for good reason!” Tweek exclaimed, he was sweating nervously, “you see...I had uh...something super important to tell you!”
“Oh? Were you going to tell me how you saw me with red eyes yesterday?” Craig said.
“....” Tweek froze in place, “w-what!? What are you talking about? Red eyes? There’s no such thing as red eyes! Unless your eyes are super irritated or you somehow got pink eye, then yeah...you’d have red eyes, but I definitely did not see you with red eyes yesterday,” Tweek said.
“....Do you honestly think I’ll believe that sad attempt at a lie? Your face is like an open book, and I know what you’re thinking,” Craig said before he closed his eyes and suddenly, his eyes turned red.
“Oh fuck my life,” Tweek went pale before he turned and began to run.
“Tweek!” Craig shouted before chasing after him.
“Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!” Tweek cursed as he kept running. He wasn’t sure if running was really a good option since vampires are supposedly supposed to be super fast, but seeing how Craig hasn’t caught up to him quite yet, there might be a chance.
“Quit running, and let’s talk,” Craig was suddenly in front of him before he knew it. Guess real vampires are fast….or they just know how to teleport. Either way, Tweek was screwed.
“P-please...just let me go…” Tweek said.
Craig sighed before staring at him with those red eyes, “you know I can’t do that, now...why don’t you-” Tweek, thinking quickly, he crouched down, grabbed a bunch of leaves, sticks, and dirt from the ground and threw them at Craig’s face, nearly blinding him, “ow! Fuck! All of that got into my eyes!”
“That’s the point!” Tweek shouted as he ran away. Tweek kept running, but knew he had to get help. He needed to warn everyone that there’s a vampire in town and is going to kill everyone. “Okay...I just gotta get out of the forests and warn everyone! As long as I don’t run into any trouble, then I can make it!” Tweek said. However, just as he said that, a leaf that had fallen off a branch suddenly got into Tweek’s face, practically blinding him since it was a very large leaf, when he was running as fast as he could, “gah! Nature!” Tweek shouted before tripping on a rock he didn’t see and soon stumbled to the ground, and ended up rolling down a hill he also didn’t notice because of the damn leaf. Once Twek made it to the ground, he let out a groan, obviously in pain, “ugh...today is not my day,” Tweek muttered as he slowly pushed himself up. When he looked up, his heart froze when he saw what looked to be a house, no, a mansion. It was all black, but the black coloring didn’t look painted, it almost made it seem like the walls were burnt. Tweek looked around until he saw a gate that had rotted away. “What is a mansion doing in the middle of the woods?” Tweek muttered.
However, Tweek didn’t have time to think about it since he could hear Craig calling for him. Twe, got up, but winced in pain when he realized he twisted his foot when he fell. Since he couldn’t run, he had no choice but to rush towards the mansion and hide inside. Luckily for Tweek, the door was opened...or to be more exact, seemed to have been broken down a long time ago since there were pieces of the door still in the doorframe, but couldn’t find the other pieces on the ground.
Once inside, Tweek was surprised when he saw all the furniture inside. There was soot everywhere, and all the furniture was a dark black color, similar to the exterior of the house, however, nothing seemed to be damaged or anything, it all just looked burnt.
“What the fuck?” Tweek muttered, obviously confused. Remembering he was hiding, Tweek quickly rushed upstairs, surprised that the stairs were even holding since it seemed the place was abandoned for a long time, yet...nothing seemed to have aged, it was weird.
Once Tweek reached the second floor, he looked around, wondering where to hide. He opened one door, and saw it was a bedroom. The bed was quite large, and it seemed it would fit two people in it, but as Tweek looked around, he couldn’t find a place to hide. The armoire didn’t have enough room for him to fit, and the space beneath the bed had too much soot, and Tweek feared he’d be noticed right away because of it, that and he knew he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from sneezing if any of the soot got into his nose. Tweek left and searched another room, when he opened the next door, he saw that the room appeared to have belonged to a little girl considering there were many dolls everywhere, although it was hard to tell if it belonged to a girl since the entire room and furniture was all black and covered soot. In fact, the whole floor is covered in it, so Tweek knew he’d be found because of his footprints in the soot. Tweek immediately checked another room. Much to Tweek’s surprise, the next room he entered wasn’t all black, there were actually other colors there, a light blue. Tweek froze for a second, realizing that the room was clean, no soot or anything. It’s almost as if someone has been spending a long time cleaning up this room and restoring it from how it was before. As Tweek looked around, he saw that the room had many objects around, an old fashion looking bike, a kite, a lightbulb, an old fashion telephone, an old looking record player, a lanter, a flashlight next to the lantern, a toy car, a model train, and many more items. The more Tweek looked at them, he realized that a lot of the items here were very old, and saw how a lot of the items were things that came out later in time, all the way to the 1900s. As Tweek looked around, he stopped when he saw a photo, a family photo. As Tweek looked at the photo, he went pale as he saw a family of four, all were very beautiful. A handsome man, an elegant looking woman, an adorable little girl, and...a charming...but familiar older boy.
That’s when it finally clicked and he couldn’t believe he didn’t realize it from how the whole mansion is all black like it was being burnt a long time ago, but nothing was damaged. He was in the cursed mansion of the vampire family, and he was sure he was in the room of the person he was trying to hide from.
“Well...I didn’t expect a gust so soon…”
Tweek gasped and turned around, seeing Craig standing by the door, staring at him blankly. “C-Craig…”
“You know...it’s one thing to throw things into my eyes and run without hearing me out...but it’s another to barge into someone’s home and into their room,” Craig said.
“I...I…” Craig came closer, he practically towered over Tweek as he glared at Tweek. Tweek noticed that Craig’s teeth were now sharp, and Craig’s eyes were practically glowing as they stared right through him.
“Now...are you done running? Because we need to have a little talk,” Craig said.
“.....” Tweek was screwed.
“So...have you calmed down a bit? You really were running as if your life depended on it,” Craig said as he sat in front of Tweek.
“.....” Tweek was very confused at that moment, his fears and anxiety were now replaced with utter confusion. Why the heck was he sitting at a table with Craig and having tea with him? Shouldn’t he be cowering for his life or screaming bloody murder while a vampire drained his blood from his body? What was going on here?
“You don’t like tea?” Craig asked, noticing how Tweek hadn’t even touched his cup, “ah...or do you just prefer coffee, yes? You did say your family owns a coffee shop, so you must prefer coffee over tea, right? I can make you some now if you like, though it’ll take me a bit since my coffee grinder is a really old one, and it takes me a while to crush the coffee beans if I want it to come out fine and not have any lumps whatsoever,” Craig said.
“....Aren’t...you going to kill me?” Tweek asked.
Craig paused, “why on earth would I kill you?” Craig asked.
“Because...I know you’re a vampire?” Tweek said.
“Yes, and?” Craig said before taking a sip of his tea.
“And...you’re also the vampire boy from that story, the one everyone in town knows about, right?”
“....” Craig sighed before placing his cup down and leaned forward, placing his elbow on the table as he laced his fingers together as he stared at Tweek. “It’s true that I’m a vampire, Tweek, and it’s true that I’m the boy from that story that you humans made up about us,” Craig said.
“M-made up? How is it made up if it was based on true events!?” Tweek asked.
“That’s the thing, the vampire family moving into a magical and beautiful mansion in the woods of a small mountain town were true...but everything else was a total lie! A fabrication of what really transpired. My family...did not kill while we lived here,” Craig said.
“...How do I know you’re not lying?” Tweek asked.
Craig smiled, “well how do you know I’m not lying?” Craig said, “you can either choose to believe me or not, but I’m telling you, all the horrible events that the story described never happened, it’s all total nonsense,” Craig said.
“....” Tweek wasn’t sure if he could trust him, he is a vampire after all, and Craig was that manipulative vampire boy from the story, so this could all be a trick to have Tweek’s guard down, but then again, why go through all this trouble when Craig could easily overpower him, and take his blood without much of a fight. Craig had already proven how fast he was, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was also very strong. Instead, Tweek was just sitting there, his arms and legs weren’t even tied to anything, and if Craig didn’t do anything, he could easily leave without much of an issue.
Craig looked at Tweek before sighing, “you remember how you told me you’ve always been curious on what real vampires are like compared to movie vampires?”
Tweek paused, “y-yeah?”
“Well...shouldn’t you also be having this question in mind as you thought about the story and some of the events that were told?”
“What do you mean?”
“Think about it, Tweek...in the book...it said there was a horrendous smell that made the whole town feel sick,” Craig said.
“Yeah? What about that part?” Tweek asked.
“Well...in many of the vampire lore in films...don’t people say that vampires are supposed to have enhanced senses...smell being one of them?” Craig asked. Tweek’s froze. “If that horrible smell was strong enough for humans to smell it...then what about us? We would be suffering because our noses are ten times more sensitive than humans, I’m sure my sense of smell would have died the moment I was born because strong smells would have easily destroyed my sense of smell,” Craig said.
“So….there wasn’t a horrible smell in town?” Tweek asked.
“No, there was,” Craig said. Tweek flinched. “But...the smell wasn’t from humans, it really was from normal, regular meat that my dad obtained from hunting or buying from markets,” Craig said.
“Meat? It really was just...meat?” Tweek asked.
“Yep, plain old meat that went bad because we didn’t know how to refrigerate nor store our meats properly,” Craig said.
“Eh?”
Craig sighed, looking embarrassed now, “well...when we were having our home built, we failed to have a proper storage room for our meats to be placed in, the storage room we had wasn’t cold enough to keep our meat fresh, let alone had the proper ventilation and safety procedures, it seems my father forgot to add more details about the storage when the plans were sent,” Craig sighed, “and since we had so much meat, and didn’t realize in time how poor our storage room was, it all went bad after a few months,” Craig sighed.
“Wait wait...why would you guys even have so much meat in the first place?” Tweek asked.
“To eat of course,” Craig said.
“...?”
“What? You think vampires only drink blood? We can eat normal food...as long as there isn’t any garlic in it,” Craig said, “meat happens to be a vampire’s second favorite thing to snack on, mine being a nice juicy steak, or sometimes I crave a good roasted chicken with some of the blood still in the meat,” Craig said.
“So...you don’t just need blood?” Tweek asked.
“Well to satisfy our hunger, we don’t necessarily need blood, but to help with our powers and energy, we do need blood for that,” Craig said.
“....So...have you been...drinking human blood to get your powers working?”
Craig sighed before looking at Tweek, “that’s the thing, Tweek...we don’t need human blood, vampires can easily survive off of animal blood,” Craig said.
Tweek’s eyes widened, “so...you never drank human blood before?” Tweek asked.
“Nope, never had a drop of human blood touch my tongue,” Craig said.
“W-why’s that?” Tweek asked.
“Mm...it’s mostly because of what happens to our bodies when a vampire tastes human blood for the first time. They go crazy, act like an animal, and lose control of their senses. They become so obsessed with human blood that they’ll go out of their way to slaughter a whole village just to get more blood,” Craig explained, “we vampires swore to never touch human blood, made it an oath since we’d rather live a peaceful life than deal with the consequences. If a vampire does end up tasting human blood, then that vampire has to be tied up and stay in a room with the walls covered in garlic for a week, or just until the human blood taste is out of their system and is back to normal,” Craig explained.
“R-really?”
“I’m telling the truth,” Craig said.
Tweek suddenly thought about the story and how it described the family acting like animals in front of the mob, looking deranged and territorial of their home. “....Are you really sure you and your family never tasted a drop of blood?” Tweek asked.
“....I didn’t...but I never said my parents haven’t,” Craig said.
Tweek stared at Craig, really not sure if he could believe him or not, but at that moment, he was curious. He wanted to know Craig’s side of the story, and see if it made more sense then the original story.
“If you are telling the truth...then...from your perspective...what really happened? What’s the true story behind your family and this mansion?” Tweek asked.
“.....” Craig smiled, glad that Tweek was at least willing to hear him out, “it started when a wealthy family of vampires decided to move into a small town and have a mansion be built deep in the woods….” As Tweek listened to Craig’s story, he was surprised by how similar, but completely different the story of each event happened.
To begin with, the family did have their mansion be built in the woods, not because they wanted to hide their secret life from the town, but mostly because it’ll be a lot easier for the family to hunt. If they had built their home in the actual town, then it would just be too much of a bother to go back and forth considering how much meat the family consumed on a daily basis, and really needed to stock up on supplies ahead of time. As for the reason why they moved to the town, it was because they heard the town was a quiet and peaceful place, and the family wanted to live in a peaceful town without worry since the last town they were in figured out they were vampires, and things quickly went south.
As for the mansion looking the same or the family’s strange way of dressing up during the day, it was all simple. The family knew they couldn’t hire servants without someone figuring out they were vampires, and since the family wanted to avoid scaring more people for their existence, they decided to cast an old spell that would have the mansion trapped in time, that way none of the furniture, garden, or even the mansion itself would age, and would even heal itself if an outside force caused any damaged onto the property. However, there were a few drawbacks, if the damage or force was much stronger than intended, then the damages that it has caused will be permanent, but the mansion will try its best to heal itself as much as it can. That is why the mansion is all burnt up, but did not collapse, or why the furniture weren’t destroyed in the fire either. With the spell on the mansion, the family didn’t have to worry about cleaning or anything, the mansion will simply clean itself.
As for the way the family dressed during the day, it was quite simple. It was just how they normally dressed in their old town. The family, before moving away from their old home, were so accustomed to the style they adopted, which was making sure to never show an inch of skin. The family wasn’t sure if the reason the old town dressed that way was because of religious reasons, but they wanted to fit in, so they matched the style that everyone was doing, despite the weather being hot. It was a good thing the family weren't necessarily affected by the weather that much. They were so used to dressing up like that that they ended up dressing up in a similar style when they moved to their new town, and the reason they didn’t break this habit was because the family mostly ended up liking the style, but also because since they rarely left the home during the day, they ended up forgetting that they don’t necessarily need to dress up like that anymore.
Now for why the family are more active during the day and don’t go out during the night, it wasn’t because they feared the sun or they’ll get hurt by it, it was actually because vampires are similar to wild animals, and vampires happen to be more similar to animals that are nocturnal. Since vampires are related to bats, it made sense they are more active during the night. So the reason they bother going out during the day on rare occasions is because the family liked some of the activities that humans do for fun or entertainment, they liked the food that the humans made, but can only be sold during the day. The family wanted to experience everything human related, even if they do end up feeling tired since they were staying up a little longer than usual. Hence why they only go out every now and then. Of course, they also go out during the day sometimes since a lot of the animals they like to hunt and eat are more active during the day anyways, and the husband tends to want to stockpile on meat for their home.
Now as Craig said, his family loved eating meat, mostly eating it when it's still blood. They tended to eat their meat raw, don’t add any preservatives, just a little salt and pepper, and once in a while, cook it, but made sure not all the way so the blood was still on it. Since the family didn't bother cooking it properly or or barely placed any preservatives to keep it from rotting, it was no surprise that after the husband had been collecting so much meat and storing it in a terribly built storage room, the meat began to rot, and the smell was awful. The family tried their best to get rid of all the rotted meat, but there was far too much meat that had gone bad, and not just that, but they couldn’t really dump the meat outside or throw it away properly since they did live in the middle of the woods, even if they placed the meat outside, the smell won’t go away that easily. They didn’t know that their love for meat would cause their demise.
When Craig was about to talk about what actually happened that night the fire started and what happened to his family, his eyes looked down at the table, and Tweek could see that the subject was a sensitive spot for Craig. Still, Craig told him what really happened.
After the smell had gotten bad, people have been complaining. However, the man that discovered they were a vampire was not the first person to knock on their door and complain. There was actually another person that came to their door, demanding they do something about the smell. The family tried their best to tell them that they’re handling it and will try to get rid of the smell soon, but the man had heard enough, claiming their promises were nothing but empty words. He was so angry that he rushed inside, trying to find the truth of the smell. When he opened the storage room, he was appalled by the amount of meat inside. He blamed the family for having so much meat and that it was their fault that the smell got this bad because they didn’t do anything to keep the meat preserved long enough. The man was so angry that he failed to notice that the rotted meat had dropped a lot of blood on the floor, so when the man was about to leave, he slipped on the blood and hit his head on the counter. The moment the family saw blood coming out of his head, and the fact that he wasn’t moving, they realized he was dead.
Of course, the family panicked, they didn’t want the man to die, but what were they to do? The townspeople were already angry about the smell and how long it’s been when they made their first promise to clear this mess up, so having a man dead in their home would make the townspeople very angry. In the end, the family decided to move the body to the basement and see if there was a chance they could save him. As they were moving them, the young girl didn’t notice she got the man’s blood on her hands as she helped her parents carry the body to the basement. Once they placed the body down, the girl finally noticed the blood. She remembered the blood on the floor from the meat, and thought the blood on her hand was from that. Since she didn’t want to wash away perfectly good blood, she licked the blood from her hand, not realizing she made a fatal mistake. As the family were trying to figure out what to do, they didn’t realize that the young daughter started to change until they heard a low growl. When the parents turned their heads, they saw that their little girl had become feral and was staring at the body hungrily. The family tried to stop her, but because they didn’t want to hurt their little girl, they didn’t use all their strength to hold her back, which was a bad idea since a vampire, who is already strong, ends up being even stronger if they turned feral, so much so that they can even overpower their own kind. The little girl pushed her parents back before pouncing on the body, and began ripping it apart. As the girl was ripping the body, blood flung everywhere as she tried to devour the flesh and blood from the corpse, and since the parents had fallen to the ground after their daughter pushed them, the blood ended up getting on their faces, some even landing onto their lips and into their mouths.
Now all three of them had a taste for humans, and they wanted more. They wanted human blood. Craig, being the only one who didn’t get blood in his face since he stood farther away when his sister attacked their parents, he watched in horror as his parents ripped the man’s clothes off before ripping his limbs from his torso. Craig tried to stop them, but when he looked around to see what he could do, he noticed something by the window. He saw a man running away from the window. Someone saw them.
What happened next was basically the same as the story, except Craig was never captured, he hid in the basement. The townspeople fought with the family, they managed to tie them up long enough for them to set the whole mansion on fire, and Craig could hear his family screaming in agony as the flames consumed them. Craig wanted to go out and save them, but he couldn’t, not when he knew that if he went out, he would die too.
In the end, Craig was too much of a coward.
When the flames died out because of the magic placed on the mansion, Craig went to check on his family, hoping that they were smart enough to get out of their restraints and possibly escape from their deaths, but to his horror, he saw three burnt corpses lying on the ground, still tied up together. Craig could have saved them if he was brave enough, he could have saved them in no time, but he was so scared of the townspeople coming to kill him that he couldn’t do anything. In the end, Craig was the only surviving family member in the mansion. He had to bury his family into the ground, and he stayed in his mansion, barely leaving. He would go up to the second floor which had the best view of the world, and he would look out of one of the windows, watching as the world began to change overtime. Even as he remained in his home, he still heard about what happened in the world thanks to his enhanced hearing, and he did hear about the story of his family, being told to paint his family as villains, as monsters. Craig felt anger, wanting to tell the truth, but how? In the end, Craig waited, waited for the day where he can leave his home and see the world more clearly, the day where he can start over, a day where no one will realize he was a vampire, a day...where he hoped he could tell the real story of his family.
“And...that’s what really happened, it was all a huge misunderstanding with accidents, misfortune, and just plain old bad luck,” Craig sighed before sipping on his tea.
“I see…” Tweek said, staring at Craig in shock, “so...what made you finally leave your home after so many years?”
“Oh no, I left this place many times before,” Craig said.
“Huh?”
“Duh, how else was I supposed to know about the many wars this country had, or all the diseases that came, or the many new discoveries? I left my mansion many years ago,” Craig said, “...this is just the first time I’ve actually attended a high school and seen the modern world,” Craig said, “I was hoping to live a normal life pretending to be a normal human teenager...but seems that’s not going to happen since you discovered my secret,” Craig said.
“Uh...sorry?” Tweek said.
Craig narrowed his eyes, “well you can apologize to me by not mentioning anything about me being a vampire to anyone, got it?” Craig said, “otherwise...I can easily hypnotize you into doing my very bidding, which includes going to school completely naked while saying something very humiliating,” Craig said.
Tweek went pale, even if that threat was bad for his social life, he knew that Craig is still capable of murder or at least making Tweek kill himself, so Tweek knew he should keep his mouth shut about the vampire thing. After hearing that story, Tweek did feel a bit sympathetic for the vampire boy.
“So...you never really killed anyone?” Tweek asked.
“No one, aside from a few poor souls from the mob, but I didn’t kill them, my family did, so I’m pretty much innocent in this,” Craig said.
“Right...though...I wonder why the book says that your family had been killing for a long time?” Tweek said.
“Probably for dramatics,” Craig said, “it’s like one of those movies where they say it’s based off of a real story, but they dramaticized it so much that it’s almost completely different from what actually happened,” Craig said.
“That...makes sense,” Tweek said, “actually...how did your old town figure out you were vampires?” Tweek asked.
“That...may have been based off of appearances,” Craig sighed, “I remember that while we did try to blend in with the townspeople there, someone kept comparing us to vampires and monsters, and eventually, those idiots assumed we really were vampires just because our skin was a lot paler than most people,” Craig sighed, “even if we really were vampires...the fact they called us out for being vampires based off of our skin and appearance was a bit...infuriating,” Craig sighed.
“Oh I think almost the majority of minorities in America know how you feel,” Tweek sighed.
Craig chuckled before looking down, “so...you’re not going to tell...are you?” Craig asked.
“.....” Tweek stared at Craig, somehow not feeling as scared as before, if anything, he really did feel bad for Craig, and could see that Craig wasn’t a bad person. Still, Tweek wasn’t completely sure about Craig, and was still unsure if the story he told was the truth. For now, Tweek thought he should at least keep an eye on Craig, and pray that Craig really was telling the truth and that he wasn’t here to hurt him or anyone, and simply just wanted to live a normal life. “You...aren't manipulative or a sadist...right?” Tweek asked.
“No,” Craig sighed, “even if I was a little...I’d be too lazy to do anything,” Craig said, looking bored.
“I...uh...see?” Tweek muttered, “so...you just want to go to school to see how it is and act like a human teenager?” Tweek asked.
“Pretty much,” Craig said, “like I said...I want to explore more of this new world, even get this thing called a smartphone…” Craig said.
“...” Tweek chuckled, “now that you mentioned it...I don’t think I ever saw you hold a smartphone yesterday,” Tweek smiled, “I guess asking for your number is going to be impossible,” Tweek said.
“Well...if you want to talk to me or something, you can just call. I do have good hearing,” Craig said.
“Really?” Tweek asked.
“Yep...I even managed to hear all the times you called me cute and handsome, and a bunch of other stuff you said about me under your breath,” Craig said.
Tweek’s face went red, “p-please don’t eavesdrop on what I say, at least not without my permission,” Tweek said.
“It’s not like I can turn my sensitive hearing off, you know,” Craig said.
“I know...but...at least don’t mention it...otherwise I’m going to die from embarrassment,” Tweek said, his face completely red.
“Yeesh...for a human who is known to keep hold of their dignity and things like that...you sure are strange. As if a human can die from embarrassment,” Craig sighed.
“I don’t mean that literally,” Tweek sighed, “you know...since I did say I won’t tell a word about what I saw...and I feel like you’re going to stick with me for a while to make sure I keep my mouth shut...why don’t I help you fit in with the modern world a bit, hm? At least...help you act more like a human teenager.”
“Really? That would be lovely,” Craig said.
Tweek smiled, “first things first...no need to be overly polite, no teen is that polite unless they have super strict and pompous parents,” Tweek said.
“Oh..uh...okay,” Craig said, “so...what is it you’re getting out of this deal, hm?”
“What do you mean?”
“Oh please, I know how you humans work when it comes to trades or deals, one party can’t be gaining something, both parties need to gain something to make it a proper deal, so...what is it that you want, Tweek?”
“.....” Tweek stared at Craig, staring at those crimson red eyes that somehow didn’t look as scary as before, nor tense whenever he saw Craig’s blue eyes. Maybe it was the fact that these eyes were the real thing, and Tweek can see the real Craig through them? He wasn’t sure, but he felt a bit more comfortable as he sat with Craig, “I...um...it’s...it’s embarrassing,” Tweek said.
Craig smiled before looking straight into Tweek’s eyes, “just say what you want...and I’ll see if I can do something about it. No need to worry about what you want to say,” Craig said.
“....Then...can I…” Tweek looked at Craig, his cheeks getting red.
“Can you...what?”
“....C-can I study you?” Tweek asked, his face even redder.
“....Eh?”
“Well...when will I ever get a chance to actually study a real life vampire and have my questions finally answered?” Tweek said.
“....Ha ha ha….you truly are a strange human,” Craig smiled, “it’s a good thing you’re adorable.”
“A-adorable?” Tweek blushed.
“Yeah, why else do you think I wanted to hang out with you the most yesterday?” Craig asked.
“...So...it wasn’t because you thought my blood smelled good?”
“No since again..I don’t drink human blood, and because my sense of smell hasn’t been that great ever since I was a baby.”
“A baby?”
“Like I said...your sense of smell will easily die quickly if the smell is super strong...and let’s say...the place where I was conceived in wasn’t exactly the cleanest,” Craig sighed.
“...Ha ha ha…” Tweek chuckled and smiled at Craig, and Craig looked at Tweek and smiled back.
Even though Tweek was scared and hesitant to get close to Craig, he soon found himself being friends with an actual vampire. Tweek wasn’t sure if he should be happy or think the whole situation is crazy. He just chose to feel happy about the situation.
“You know...I’ve always been curious, but...can you actually turn into a bat?” Tweek asked.
“....A bat?”
It’s been a few days since Tweek found out Craig was a vampire, and he made a deal with Craig to not tell anyone about it. At first, Tweek was a bit hesitant to make the deal with Craig considering he wasn’t sure if what the vampire said was true, or if the vampire really didn’t have a sinister plot against the town, but the more Tweek met up with Craig to keep an eye on him, or to be more exact, Craig was keeping an eye on him to make sure he wasn’t telling anyone about Craig’s identity, the more Tweek saw how harmless Craig was being.
Why else would Tweek be sitting with Craig at the park while he shows Craig some modern stuff, and Craig telling him vampire info.
“Yeah, I mean...in every vampire movie I’ve seen, vampires are closely related to bats and can turn into bats and stuff,” Tweek explained.
“Well...we can shapeshift...but...we don’t do it that much,” Craig said.
“Why’s that?”
“Well...imagine how’d you feel as your entire body changes. Your bones would change its size and form, your DNA would change and your skin would either melt, harden, or start to grow feathers or scales,” Craig explained.
“Oh...that...sounds...painful,” Tweek said.
“Extremely, yes,” Craig said, “hence why real vampires don’t normally shapeshift. If we want to trick a human for some reason, we just use our other abilities such as hypnosis,” Craig said.
“.....Hey...speaking of hypnosis...when we were hanging out for the first time...I noticed you staring into my eyes a lot...and I remember in the story, it said that the vampire boy would hypnotize his victims by staring into their eyes. So...were you trying to hypnotize me the first time we met?” Tweek asked.
“Of course not,” Craig said, “why would I ever hypnotize you?” Craig asked.
Tweek frowned, “then how do you hypnotize people?”
“Staring into their eyes,” Craig said.
“....”
“Hey, just because I stare into people’s eyes doesn’t immediately mean I’m hypnotizing them. I have more control of who I want to hypnotize after all,” Craig said, “since you know...a lot of people seem to stare at my face and eyes a lot, so it would be a...um…” Craig paused for a second before thinking what his next words should be, “a...total...hassle if I accidentally hypnotize people just because they’re looking into my eyes,” Craig said.
“I guess that makes sense,” Tweek said, “so...how do you hypnotize someone?”
“Well...if there’s someone I need to hypnotize...I stare into their eyes if they haven’t already, and I wait a few seconds until their minds and body are relaxed enough, it would help if I say they were very sleepy or say something very calming, and once they’re relax and their mind is a blank slate, I give my command,” Craig said.
“....That’s it?” Tweek said.
“Yeah?”
“....That doesn’t sound too different from how some hypnotists hypnotize people,” Tweek said.
“That’s because it’s exactly the same, just without the swinging watch or dramatizing it so much,” Craig said.
“How exactly is that a vampire ability then?” Tweek asked.
“Because my vampire charms and powers quickens the process, and is ten times more effective,” Craig said.
“Ah...okay,” Tweek said. “....So...then...why were you staring at me so much?” Tweek asked.
“....Because I like your green eyes,” Craig said, “they’re quite lovely,” Craig said.
“.....” Tweek blushed, “y-you think they’re...l-lovely?” Tweek asked.
Craig smiled, “yes,” Craig said.
“....” Tweek blushed harder, he blamed Craig’s good looks for making him feel all shy and embarrassed. “Geez...I bet you say that to a lot of people, right?”
“Mmm...not really,” Craig said, “not a lot of people really interested me,” Craig said.
“.....” Tweek blushed harder and quickly turned away from Craig, feeling all shy and embarrassed, “Jesus...why are you saying that so confidently? Is it because you’re so handsome or something? Gah...curse handsome guys and their confidence,” Tweek muttered, hoping Craig didn’t hear him.
“Wow...do you have some sort of grudge against handsome people if you’re cursing them out?” Craig asked.
Tweek blushed, “gah! You and your enhanced hearing!” Tweek cried out, “please don’t listen to what I say when I’m whispering something under my breath,” Tweek said, “or...better yet...don’t mention it out loud or else I’m going to die of embarrassment!” Tweek exclaimed.
“That’s odd...lots of humans seem to die on the battlefield, natural deaths, or from an incurable disease. I never heard of a human that died of embarrassment,” Craig said, “then again...I remember seeing a man who lost a fight at the Colosseum, he was so ashamed that instead of letting the other gladiator kill him, the man ended up killing himself by cutting off his own head. It was very dramatic, but the crowd loved it,” Craig said.
“Colosseum?” Tweek muttered, “how...how old are you?” Tweek asked.
That depends...do you want vampire years or actual human years?” Craig asked.
As the two spent more time together, Tweek felt he and Craig were getting closer and closer, and Tweek could see just how genuine Craig was being when he said he wanted to live a peaceful life. Tweek was really surprised by how Craig has completely changed the idea of vampires as he revealed what vampires can and can’t really do. Tweek was quite happy to have learned everything there was about vampires, and was relieved that Craig wasn’t one of those vampires that like to manipulate or trick people for a living.
Craig was really nice...or was he only that nice to Tweek?
It was Friday when Tweek walked into his history class, and to Tweek’s surprise, Craig wasn’t in the classroom yet. Tweek sighed, remembering how Craig seemed to have trouble coming to school in the morning thanks to his nocturnal instincts. Tweek wondered if Craig can train his brain to just let him sleep at night and be up during the day, maybe then Craig wouldn’t be at risk of missing the first period, even if the vampire was super fast.
“Morning, Tweek!” Wendy said.
“Morning,” Tweek said, greeting his friend.
“Hey...where’s Craig?” Wendy asked.
“Where do you think? He’s late as usual,” Tweek sighed.
“Wow...it’s already been a month since Craig moved to town and joined our school, you’d think he’d learn to get used to waking up early in the morning,” Wendy said.
“W-well...he did say he was homeschooled before his parents finally let him come here, right? I guess it’s just going to take him a while to get used to waking up and coming to school by eight,” Tweek said.
“Wow...you sure know a lot about Craig,” Wendy said, “is it because you two hang out with each other so much?”
Tweek blushed, “w-well we are friends,” Tweek said, though how they ended up being friends was a bit of a rocky start, not that Tweek wouldn’t have loved to be Craig’s friend even if Craig wasn’t a real vampire. Craig was just...so nice to Tweek, and Tweek always liked hanging out with Craig.
“...You sure you think of him as a friend?” Wendy smirked.
“W-what are you saying?”
“You and Craig! You totally would look so good together!”
“W-what!? Wendy!”
“I’m just saying...didn’t you tell me you like good looking guys? And who’s more good looking than Craig?”
“Wendy...Craig and I are just friends, nothing more,” Tweek said, “besides...I don’t even think Craig even likes guys like that,” Tweek said.
“Have you ever asked?” Wendy asked.
“Of course not! That’s way too personal!”
“But if you’re interested in someone, shouldn’t you at least know which way they swing?” Wendy asked.
“Well...that may be true, but...I know for a fact that Craig isn’t gay,” Tweek said, knowing that Craig has lived a long time, it wouldn’t be a surprise that Craig is not used to homosexuals, especially if he grew up during a time period where people believed homosexuals are sinful people or that it wasn’t right for two people of the same sex to feel attracted towards each other. Tweek was sure that Craig must have that same mindset, and is glad that Craig seemed to be the type that is more open and isn’t quick to judge people for their preferences and gender, at least from how he saw Craig whenever Craig was curious about the LGBTQ community. At least Tweek didn’t have to worry about Craig hating him just because he happens to be gay.
“You never know, Tweek,” Wendy said.
“Trust me...I know Craig enough to know what his preferences are,” Tweek said.
Wendy sighed, “sure, be in denial, but you can’t hide the fact that you totally have the hots for him,” Wendy grinned.
“I-I do not,” Tweek said.
“Oh come on! I’ve seen how much you blush whenever he’s around, how you look so happy when you see him, or how you tend to act more nervous when you talk to him relating to dating and stuff like that,” Wendy said.
“I-I mean...who wouldn’t get nervous when talking about something so personal as...d-dating?”
“Tweek...you can lie to me all you want about your feelings for Craig, but you can’t lie to yourself,” Wendy said.
“I’m telling you, I do not have a thing for Craig!”
“Thing? What thing?”
“Gah!” Tweek and Wendy were surprised when Craig suddenly appeared, neither of them seemed to notice that he had arrived at class and was walking nearby until he spoke up. “H-how much did you hear?” Tweek asked, his cheeks turning red.
“I only heard you just say you have a thing for me, since I just arrived, I don’t know what you guys are talking about,” Craig said. He looked at Tweek, “So...what is it?”
“...What is...what?”
“The thing! You said you had something for me, so what is it?” Craig asked, he looked a little excited, which was hard to tell since his expression was blank, but his eyes seemed to sparkle a bit.
“...Cute…” Tweek muttered.
“Cute? Oh...is the thing you’re giving me supposed to be cute?”
“....Um...yes! But uh...I’ll show you what it is later after school,” Tweek said nervously.
“Okay,” Craig said, “I can’t wait to see what you have for me.”
“Craig! Hey buddy! I have something to tell you!” Clyde exclaimed.
“Okay,” Craig said as he excused himself and walked towards the door where Clyde was standing.
“.....”
“....” Wendy stared at Tweek, a smug look on her face.
“What? That didn’t count as me having a thing for him, Wendy! You would also think he’s cute if he acts like a puppy or something,” Tweek said.
“Sure,” Wendy said.
“I’m serious! I don’t have a crush on Craig,” Tweek huffed.
“Okay, okay, I’ll believe you this once...but I do suggest you be careful,” Wendy said.
“Huh? Why?”
“Well you know how a lot of the girls in our class can be...a little possessive when they have their eyes on something...or...someone,” Wendy said.
“Wait...really?”
“Just a little...but...I’d be very careful when being around some of Craig’s...hardcore fans...they will eat you alive,” Wendy said.
“Oh Jesus…thanks for the heads up,” Tweek said.
“Anytime for my best friend,” Wendy smiled.
Once Wendy turned back around in her seat, Tweek sat there, looking over at where Craig was, seeing him talking calmly with Clyde, while Clyde looked excited. After Craig was done and Clyde left to get to his class, Craig came back and quickly sat at his desk next to Tweek.
“What did Clyde want?”
“He said something about a movie night tomorrow, and wanted me to come,” Craig explained.
“Oh yeah, I was meaning to tell you about it since I wondered if you wanted to come,” Tweek smiled, “so...what did you say? Are you coming?”
“Sure...not like I got nothing to do during the evening tomorrow anyways,” Craig said.
“Ah...because you’ll be sleeping in tomorrow morning?” Tweek asked.
“Just until the sun goes down,” Craig said, “if I knew waking up in the morning for five days a week was going to be this exhausting, I wouldn’t have signed up for school,” Craig said.
Tweek chuckled, “then you wouldn’t have met the guys or me, we wouldn’t have been friends,” Tweek said.
“...Then I guess it is worth ignoring my sleep schedule and seeing you everyday,” Craig said.
“....Ha ha ha...don’t say it like that...I feel like you’re hitting on me or something,” Tweek blushed.
“Hitting on you? But...I’m not touching you or anything, how am I hitting you?”
“That’s not….I’ll explain later,” Tweek smiled.
“Oh...guess it’s another strange modern metaphor I don’t know about,” Craig said.
“Pretty much,” Tweek smiled.
Once the history teacher came into the room, Tweek and Craig went on with their day of lessons and learning. Still, Tweek couldn’t help but smile when he thought of how cute Craig was, for a vampire, it almost seemed as if Craig was very innocent and pure.
“....?” Suddenly, Tweek noticed a few eyes on him and when he looked up, he flinched when he saw a couple of girls giving him a dirty look. Guess Wendy was right about Craig’s hardcore fans being overly poseessive. “Oh Jesus,” Tweek said as he tried to ignore the stares he was getting and focus on the lesson.
It was going to be a long day for him.
It was a long day with Tweek trying to not get nervous when girls were giving him death stares as he was with Craig, but classes were finally over and Tweek was free from feeling the hostility of all the girls in all his classes. So once Tweek was out of class and was at his locker, he waited for Craig to show up. Craig soon arrived and walked over to Tweek.
“Hey,” Craig said.
“Hey, how was class?”
“Same as usual, though I’ve had a hard time staying awake,” Craig said while letting out a yawn.
“Have you ever thought of maybe sleeping at night instead?” Tweek asked.
“I’ve tried, but my nocturnal instincts won’t let me,” Craig said.
“Uh...okay,” Tweek said. “Anyways, should we get going?”
“What about Clyde?”
“Sadly, Clyde won’t be coming. He got in trouble for reading a comic book in class...again...and now he has detention,” Tweek explained.
“Huh...so with Token busy with basketball, and Jimmy busy with the newspaper club today, guess it’s just you and me then,” Craig said.
Tweek flinched when he could see a couple of girls glaring at him from a distance. Tweek grew nervous, but put on a smile and looked at Craig happily. “Seems that way, now...let’s get out of here before someone kills me,” Tweek said.
“Huh?”
“I’ll tell you later,” Tweek said as he grabbed Craig’s arm and began leading the boy to town.
As the two were walking, Craig looked at Tweek, remembering what Tweek said earlier, “so...are you going to show me now?”
“Huh? Show you what?” Tweek asked.
“The thing...you said you had a thing for me,” Craig said, “you said you’d show it to me after school,” Craig said.
Tweek paused, nearly forgetting about that. He began to panic as he was so distracted by a few of Craig’s fans giving him death glares and generally giving him a hard time, he wasn’t able to come up with something to show Craig since Craig assumed Tweek was planning to give him a gift of some sorts.
“Oh...right...uh...the thing...the thing...I wanted to give you,” Tweek said.
“Yes,” Craig said.
“....Ha ha...yeah...I totally...have something...to give to you...something...you’d...definitely would love!”
“Okay...so what is it?”
“What is it? Well it’s...it’s...um…” Tweek looked around until his eyes laid upon a pet shop. Tweek had an idea, “well…to tell you the truth...it’s not an object you can take or keep...but...I wanted to show you something...that I thought you’d be interested in!” Tweek said.
“Show me?”
“Yes! And it happens to be...in...there!” Tweek said as he pointed at the pet shop.”
“A pet shop? We’re going to look at animals?” Craig asked.
“Yep! I figured...as someone who loves meat so much...I thought you might also like animals!”
“....That...doesn’t make sense...like at all,” Craig said.
“.....” Tweek knew that, it definitely wouldn’t make sense for someone who enjoys eating the flesh of animals to like looking at cute adorable animals that people tend to keep as pets, but Tweek had no other idea, and he already dug too deep into this hole, so he’s going with it. “Let’s just go in and look around,” Tweek said.
“Okay…” Craig said.
The two headed in and saw so many different animals that were being sold. Tweek gushed at the cute animals, particularly the birds, while Craig looked around, but didn’t seem to care that much.
“Do you not like dogs or cats?” Tweek asked.
“Mmm...we vampires don’t necessarily care that much for animals that weren’t used for meat,” Craig said, “although...I guess there have been a few bolder vampires back in the day that liked the blood of a cat or a puppy,” Craig said.
A cat hissed at Craig the moment he made eye contact with it, all its back hairs were standing up as it glared at Craig. Craig wasn’t fazed and simply stared at the cat with a small smirk.
“Um...I can see you’re not a cat person...or a dog person...or an animal person in general,” Tweek said as he pulled Craig away before the animals started freaking out. “Sorry if this isn’t to your liking,” Tweek sighed, “the truth is...I didn’t actually have anything for you, I was just talking to Wendy about something personal, and she kind of...said some things I didn’t like, and when I said I had a thing for you, I didn’t mean I had an actual gift or anything like that,” Tweek said.
“....I figured...you were sweating a lot when you were trying to tell me what my gift was supposed to be,” Craig said.
“I’m sorry,” Tweek sighed.
“It’s fine...and hey...if you have something to say to me, you can be honest. I’ve always been honest with you haven’t I?”
“....Yeah...you have,” Tweek said, “sorry again for bringing you here and giving you high expectations on what we were doing today. Why don’t we leave now and get something to eat?”
“.....”
“....Craig?”
“What in God's green earth is that?” Craig said as he pointed at a large glass case with guinea pigs inside.
“Those? Those are guinea pigs,” Tweek said.
“Guinea...pigs?” Craig said.
“Yeah, they’re large rodents that live for about five to six years. They were originally found in South America, even said to be a delicacy in Peru or something like that, but they are common domestic pets you can get at pet shops,” Tweek said, “I’m surprised you never heard or seen one of these things.”
“Well back in my day...these things were quite common...but to think...something this beautiful exists,” Craig said.
“....What?”
“It’s eyes...they are filled with wisdom and knowledge…” Craig said as his eyes sparkled.
“...So...does this mean you’re a guinea pig person?” Tweek asked.
Craig picked up one of the guinea pigs and held it in his hands, he smiled gently as he cradled the little animal in his hands, practically gushing at it. Tweek stared at him for a second before smiling. He then walked off and headed towards the store clerk.
“Um...excuse me..but how much are the guinea pigs?” Tweek asked.
“Ten dollars per guinea pig,” the clerk said.
“Perfect,” Tweek said as he took out his wallet, “oh and uh...I’m gonna need a cage, food...and basically anything that guinea pigs need,” Tweek said.
Tweek glanced over at where Craig was and smiled as he saw Craig holding the guinea pig in such a loving manner. He really was cute.
After Tweek told Craig about the guinea pig and paid for everything, Tweek helped carry the cage, food, and a few toys and supplies, while Craig held the guinea pig in his hands.
“Are you sure this is okay? You didn’t have to buy all of this for me,” Craig said.
“It’s fine, consider this the “thing” I wanted to give you,” Tweek said, “besides, I can totally see you have already connected with your new friend there, so I figured you’d be sad if this little guy doesn’t go home with you,” Tweek said.
“Still...would my home be a good place for him?” Craig asked as he gently placed his new guinea pig on top of his head.
“He’ll be fine as long as you make sure he doesn’t touch or eat anything that could be harmful towards him. Just give him the proper care, food, and love, and he’ll live a good full guinea pig life,” Tweek said.
“...I’ve never...cared for a pet before...I’ve always seen human children playing with their dogs or elderly ladies petting their cats on their laps...but I’ve never done anything like that,” Craig said.
Tweek smiled, “well if you ever need help, you can ask me anything,” Tweek said.
Craig looked at Tweek and smiled, “thank you,” Craig said.
“Of course, what are friends for?” Tweek grinned, “so...what are you going to name him?”
“....Stripe,” Craig smiled.
“Stripe? But...he doesn’t have a stripe pattern, in fact...I don’t think guinea pigs ever had a stripe pattern on their fur,” Tweek said.
“Well he looks like a Stripe to me,” Craig said.
“I...I see,” Tweek chuckled, “so...should we head to your place and have all this stuff set up?”
Craig nodded and the two started walking to Craig’s place together. As they were walking, Craig talked to his new pet all the things he would do for him, almost like an excited little kid who was telling their new friend everything they’d do together.
“You’ll get to sleep on my bed, eat all the lettuce you want, I can let you run around the house...oh...I should probably start cleaning up the inside since there’s way too much soot around,” Craig said.
“I’ve been meaning to ask that, how come your room is the only one that’s clean?” Tweek asked.
“Because I cleaned it,” Craig said, “it’s my room and the place I sleep, so I didn’t want to sleep in a soot covered room,” Craig said.
“Okay, but how come you haven’t cleaned the rest of the house?” Tweek asked.
“....I mean...the mansion is already ruined on the outside, so the inside might as well match...and the place is so large...it’ll take me days to clean all that up,” Craig pouted.
“...Wow...you’re already sounding like a lazy teen who doesn’t want to do their chores,” Tweek chuckled.
“Really? Does that mean I’m fitting in more?” Craig asked.
Tweek looked at him before smiling, “yeah...you’re fitting in well,” Tweek said.
Craig looked at Tweek and smiled. Tweek paused as he stared at Craig and felt his cheeks warming up. His heart skip a beat and he felt all shy all of a sudden.
“You okay? You seem more red than usual. Is my handsome face making you embarrassed again?”
“Nnng...yeah..so...please take a couple steps away from me and let me calm down a bit,” Tweek instructed.
“Okay...but I do hope you’ll get used to my handsome face soon since there’s nothing I can do about it,” Craig said before stepping away from Tweek.
“....” Tweek wasn’t sure if Craig was being genuine there or sarcastic, either way, Tweek couldn’t help but curse him in the back of his head. Still, no matter how much Tweek spent time with Craig, he still couldn’t get used to him, or to be more precise, he couldn’t stop his heart from racing whenever he was with him.
As much as Tweek hates to admit, even going as far as denying his feelings, Wendy was right. Tweek did have a thing for Craig.
It was Saturday evening and the guys had arrived at Clyde's house to have their weekend vampire movie night. However, when Tweek, Craig, Token, and Jimmy arrived, they were surprised when they saw other people there.
“Uh...Cyde...what’s this?” Token asked.
“This? Just invited a couple of ladies to our movie night,” Clyde said.
“Why?” Token asked.
“Well why not? I mean...our movie nights are usually just us...and since Craig recently joined us, I figured it would be too much of a sausage fest, so I invited Bebe...who invited Wendy, who invited Stan, who then invited his friends, then Cartman invited a few other people, and before I knew it...we have a lot of people in my house wanting to watch Twilight,” Clyde said.
“Twilight? But you hate Twilight,” Tweek said.
“Who says I hate it? I...appreciate that the series took a different turn on the vampire genre,” Clyde said.
“....Bebe said she wanted to see Twilight again and you decided to invite her to our movie night so we could watch it, and you get a chance with her, right?” Token said.
“....Yes...though...I didn’t expect to get more people here...now it’s going to be harder for me to impress Bebe!”
“What about us? You knew we’d be showing up,” Tweek said.
“Yeah...well...I figured you guys would take a hint and give us some room for a bit so I can work my charms with Bebe,” Clyde said.
“W-w-wow...w-what happened to b-b-bros before hoes?” Jimmy asked.
“Hey, nothing personal guys...but...you know….a player gotta play his game!”
“....?” Craig looked at Tweek, confused.
Tweek sighed, “I’ll explain it later,” Tweek said.
“Anyways, I’m glad you’re here now since the girls in there have heard that Craig was showing up and kept asking when you’d be here, so Craig, why don’t you help me settle everyone down while I get the movie ready,” Clyde said.
“Alright,” Craig said as he walked inside.
Tweek frowned that Clyde was sort of using Craig to get people’s attention, but seeing as Craig didn’t mind, he didn’t say a thing and just went inside with the others. Once inside, they were surprised by how many people were there, mostly girls.
“Dude...does your dad know anything about this?” Token asked.
“Don’t worry, my dad is out on a date and told me he won’t be home till morning, saying something about how he was going to get lucky with Cartman’s mom tonight,” Clyde said.
“What was that!?” The four friends heard Cartman shout from the other side of the room.
“...Anyways...as long as people don’t make too much of a mess, my dad won’t know a thing,” Clyde said.
“Right...but I really wish you had told us about your plan ahead of time since this is way more people than we’re used to, Clyde,” Tweek said.
“Don’t worry about it, Tweek! We all know everyone here, it’s not like they’re strangers! We’re all just gonna sit by the couch and watch...Twilight...together...and not just Twilight...but every...movie…” Clyde said, it looked like he was in pain.
“...Are you okay?”
“Just...letting it sink in...and reminding myself that it’s for Bebe...for Bebe...for Bebe,” Clyde said before taking a deep breath, anyways...Tweek, why don’t you go get the snacks ready, Jimmy, you help settle our guests down and make sure they don’t break anything, and Token, help me set up the speakers and get this movie night going!”
“Right,” Token said.
“On it,” Tweek said as he started heading to the kitchen. As soon as Tweek was in the kitchen and grabbed the microwave popcorn bag, he noticed that Craig was there, chatting with a few girls. Craig was just standing there, with his usual blank expression, while the girls talked excitedly towards him, he even noticed one of them grabbing onto Craig’s arm, almost rubbing it.
“....”
“Jealous?”
“H-huh?” Tweek turned and saw Wendy was standing there, a red solo cup in her hands and was staring at Tweek. “I’m not...jealous,” Tweek said, “for the last time, Craig and I-”
“Yeah yeah...friends,” Wendy sighed, “you can keep making that excuse all you want, Tweek, but it’s obvious you have a thing for him...and I know Craig likes you too,” Wendy said.
“....N-no he doesn’t,” Tweek said.
“He so does...I know what the face of someone who likes someone looks like, and Craig likes you a lot,” Wendy said.
“Ugh...quit playing cupid and getting involved with my love life, Wendy. I don’t need you telling me who is interested in me and who I should date,” Tweek said.
“I’m just trying to help, Tweek...why let yourself get hurt when you know that you and Craig would be perfect for each other, so why let the opportunity slip away from you?”
Tweek sighed, “I’m fine...all I care about is letting Craig be happy, and right now...I don’t think him dating or even the thought of dating me ever crossed his mind,” Tweek said before he placed the popcorn into the microwave and stood there, “I’m okay with being single for now.”
“....Ugh...you’re so stubborn...but I’ll drop it. I just...want you to be happy as well, Tweek,” Wendy said before leaving.
“....” Tweek looked back at where Craig was, and saw that he was still surrounded by girls. Tweek felt a pang in his chest, but ignored it. He was fine, as long as Craig was happy, then he’s happy.
Once everyone had settled down, Clyde began to play the movie. Tweek came in with the large bowl of popcorn for everyone to share, and saw that there was an empty spot right next to Craig. He was about to go over and sit with him, but a girl suddenly shoved past him, and snatched the open seat.
“H-hey!” Tweek frowned.
“Whoops...did you want to sit here?” The girl asked as she looked up at Tweek, “sorry...first come, first serve,” the girl said smugly.
“Hey, Daniel, no need to be mean to Tweek,” Wendy said.
“Yeah, we’re trying to have a good time,” Bebe frowned.
“I’m only just taking a seat next to Craig...you don’t mind...right, Craig?”
“.....” Craig looked up at Tweek, but Tweek quickly looked away, feeling angry, but embarrassed. He didn’t want to make a scene over who sat next to Craig.
“It’s fine,” Tweek said before Craig could even say a thing, “I can sit somewhere else, no need to make a big deal out of this,” Tweek sighed as he handed the bowl of popcorn to Clyde and sat down next to Daniel since it was the only spot available.
“Alright! Let’s get movie night going!” Clyde exclaimed happily as he played the movie and settled down on the couch next to Bebe.
“....” Craig couldn’t help but look at Tweek, and wonder if he was okay.
Tweek noticed Craig staring and looked at him, their eyes met, and Tweek could see that Craig was worried for him, but he just smiled and mouthed to him that he was okay, and to enjoy the movie. Craig nodded and turned his attention back to the screen, although Tweek wished he could stare into Craig’s beautiful eyes a little longer.
“Quit staring at him...he’s so out of your league, Tweek,” Daniel huffed when Tweek saw that she was openly glaring at him.
“....We’re just friends,” Tweek frowned.
“Hmph...well you better stay that way,” Daniel said before turning her attention back to the screen, but Tweek did notice Daniel leaning a little closer to Craig.
Tweek frowned, but didn’t say a thing, he didn’t want to ruin movie night for Clyde and the others, especially Craig. He just bit his tongue and tried to enjoy the night as best as he could.
After the first movie was over, everyone decided to take a quick break to either grab something from the kitchen or use the bathroom. Once Daniel got up from her seat to use the bathroom, Tweek let out a sigh, glad that she was gone since he could feel Daniel glaring at him throughout the movie.
“So...how was the movie, Craig?” Tweek asked.
“.....What the fuck was that?” Craig stared at Tweek in confusion, “who in their right mind thought it would be good to make a movie about teenagers and vampires having romance and drama?” Craig asked.
Tweek chuckled, “well a lot of people seem to like it since it’s different from normal vampire movies...that...and the actors in the movie are pretty hot...especially Edward Cullen,” Tweek said.
“So...does that mean you like sparkly vampires then?” Craig asked.
Tweek blushed, “o-of course not! I just...I just like how the actor looks, that’s all!” Tweek said.
“So...you think he’s handsome?”
“Yeah, sure,” Tweek said.
“...More handsome than me?” Craig asked.
“....H-huh?” Tweek’s face got redder. The way Craig said that almost made it sound as if Craig was jealous, but that couldn’t be it, right? There was no way that Craig would be jealous over an attractive looking actor just because Tweek said he looked handsome, right? “....I...um….I….I gotta...get some fresh air, excuse me for a second,” Tweek said before he quickly stood up and rushed outside.
“.....”
Once Tweek stepped out into the backyard and closed the sliding glass door behind him, he let out a sigh, trying to calm down his racing heart. “Relax...relax...we’re just friends...just friends...just….” The more Tweek said it, he knew it wasn’t true, and that it would never be true to him. As much as Tweek liked being friends with Craig, he wanted to be more than just friends.
“Tweek?” Tweek was surprised when Craig suddenly came out and joined him in the backyard.
“W-what are you doing out here?”
“I wanted some fresh air too,” Craig said.
“Oh...okay,” Tweek said as he looked away from Craig.
“....Tweek?”
“Hm? What is it?” Tweek asked.
“...Are you upset?”
“....Upset? Me? W-why would you think I’m upset?” Tweek asked.
“You didn’t seem like you were having fun in there...especially with that girl glaring at you the entire time that...strange...movie was playing,” Craig said.
“I’m having fun! Really,” Tweek said while smiling, “so...what about you? Aren’t you having fun?”
“....Not really,” Craig sighed, “mostly because the guy I like is lying to me and isn’t even looking at me,” Craig said.
“...H-huh?” Tweek stared at Craig, surprised, “g-guy you...like?”
Craig stared at Tweek blankly, “wasn’t it obvious? I mean...out of everyone at school and even here...I’m way nicer to you,” Craig said, “I don’t really give a crap about everyone else….aside from Clyde, Token, and Jimmy, but I like you the best, and I know you like me,” Craig said.
“...W-wait...you knew!?” Tweek asked.
“It wasn’t hard since I could hear you and Wendy talking about how much you like me,” Craig said, “so I knew you had a...thing...for me,” Craig said.
“...H-how!?”
“Enhanced hearing...did you forget that?”
“W-why didn’t you say anything then?” Tweek asked.
“You told me not to say that I was listening in since it would make you die of embarrassment,” Craig said, “but...also because...I was hoping that if I waited long enough...you’d finally realize your feelings and confess to me,” Craig said.
“Wait...so you wanted me to confess to you? Since when were you into guys?”
“Tweek...you of all people should have known how open minded I am. Just because I was born hundred and hundred of years ago doesn’t automatically mean I only like girls,” Craig said, “you’d be surprised how many people back in the day were secretly gay, even if hey had to hide their love, that still never stopped them from loving the person they care a lot about,” Craig explained.
“....Oh Jesus…” Tweek crouched down, feeling like a weight was finally lifted from his shoulders. He let out a sigh of relief while his face was completely red, “you know..I would have definitely appreciated it if you had told me about this...then maybe I wouldn’t feel so...weird,” Tweek said.
“I’m sorry...but you told me not to mention the stuff you said while trying to hide the fact that you’re saying it. I thought this was similar to how you always say I looked cute or handsome,” Craig said.
“Nnng...curse you and your vampire hearing,” Tweek scowled.
“I’m sorry,” Craig said before he crouched down, “but...you know...my feelings won’t change. I really like you, Tweek. Out of all the humans I’ve met in my life...you are by far my favorite...and...I wouldn’t mind being a couple...if you want,” Craig said.
“.....Wow...I mean...I do...but…” Tweek sighed. Even though he never wanted to confess his feelings to Craig out of fear of being rejected, another part of him also didn’t want to say anything because of the situation at hand. Craig was a vampire, and he was a human. Would that even work? One day, Tweek was going to get old and die, while Craig will outlive him. The thought of Craig being sad once Tweek passes away made Tweek feel upset, and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to put Craig through that in the future, “...I’m human, you know...and humans...don’t have a long life span like vampires,” Tweek said.
“....And you’re worried that when you die...I’ll be sad, yes?” Craig asked.
“....Yeah,” Tweek said.
“....” Craig smiled before he wrapped his arms around Tweek and hugged him, “it will be sad...but life will eventually die in the end. I know I won’t live forever, whether it’s because I finally reached the end of my life span...or...I get killed by someone...who knows,” Craig said, “but...that doesn’t mean I’m going to stay in my home and never go out, it just means...I should enjoy the present as much as I can, live life with the people I care about, and experience everything,” Craig said, “....when my family died, I was scared of leaving my home, thinking I’ll end up like them one day, but...staying in my home wasn’t really living, and as my heart healed and my mind was finally clear, I realized that...waiting and trying to avoid an early death isn’t really living, and that...in the end...I will die one day...so death is inevitable...so I know...that once I die...I at least want to die without regret. So don’t think about what will happen in the future, Tweek...and just enjoy the present...with me,” Craig said.
“.....” Tweek listened to Craig and felt like crying. Craig was right, even if Tweek will eventually die one day and Craig will outlive him, that doesn’t mean he and Craig can’t be together. They needed to focus on the present, focus on their love for each other, and focus on what made them happy. To Tweek, he wanted to be more than friends with Craig, and was willing to give it a shot. Tweek pulled away from Craig’s hug and looked him in the eyes, “....Craig...I really like you...and I want to be more than friends with you...so...if you’re okay with someone like me...then...can we be more than friends and start going out?”
“...Yes,” Craig smiled, “I would love to be your boyfriend, Tweek,” Craig said.
Tweek stared at Craig before smiling, “ah...I feel like crying,” Tweek said.
“Why? Shouldn’t this be a happy moment?” Craig asked.
“That’s the thing...I feel like crying because I’m so happy,” Tweek said.
“....Huh...to cry when you’re happy...is that another human thing I don’t know about?” Craig asked.
Tweek smiled, “it is,” Tweek said as he grabbed Craig’s hand.
“.....Is this the moment we share a kiss?” Craig asked.
Tweek blushed before nodding his head, “if you want…”
“....I do,” Craig said before he leaned forward and placed a kiss on Tweek’s lips.
The kiss was short and a little bit awkward and clumsy, only because neither of them had experienced kissing anyone before. It was literally their first kiss. The two looked at each other before blushing, Tweek was surprised that vampires can blush, but here Craig was, his cheeks turning pink.
Tweek smiled and kissed Craig on the cheek, “guess I don’t need to ask you if vampires can blush,” Tweek said. Craig looked away, feeling embarrassed for the first time. Tweek chuckled. “We should head back inside before someone comes looking for us,” Tweek said. Craig nodded and the two headed back inside while holding hands.
Once inside, Tweek saw that Daniel had come back and was sitting at her spot. Daniel looked up, angry to see Tweek with Craig, but quickly smiled as Craig stood in front of Tweek.
“Craig! I saw you left the room, so I saved your seat!” Daniel said as she patted the empty spot next to her.
“....Thanks...but...you can have that spot, I would like to sit next to Tweek,” Craig said.
“H-huh?” Daniel was surprised.
“Also...I’d appreciate it if you didn’t act so hostile towards Tweek...or say all those mean things about him behind his back,” Craig said, narrowing his eyes.
Tweek was surprised that Daniel was talking about him behind his back. Tweek looked at Craig, who looked at him, but had a small smile on his face before looking back at Daniel.
“I-I didn’t-”
“Don’t lie, I heard you and the other girls talking. It’s not very nice to talk about someone behind their backs,” Craig said, “it’s pretty bitchy to be mad at someone just because they happen to be close to me, and if you think you can act that way to Tweek or anyone of my friends, then you should know chances of me being with any of you are not happening anytime soon, so if any of you have a problem with Tweek, you have a problem with me, so...fuck...off,” Craig said.
Even though Tweek did regret teaching Craig some more modern swears, he couldn’t help but feel happy right now. Tweek looked over at where Daniel was sitting, and she had this pissed off face, but she wasn’t angry at Craig, she was staring straight at Tweek.
“W-why are you even choosing someone like Tweek!? He’s not even that cute!”
“...To me he is...and far cuter than you,” Craig said.
“Ooo...dang...the diss,” Clyde muttered.
“Dude...shut up,” Token said.
“I..I…” Daniel’s face was red from embarrassment. She had tears in her eyes as she stared at the two angrily. She stood up and left, slamming the door loudly after she was outside.
“....” Craig sighed before turning to everyone else, “I’m sorry if I’m being a...dick...about this...but...I’d really appreciate it if all of you who seem to like me to not be mean to Tweek from now on. If you want to be friends, I don’t mind, but if you hurt Tweek in any way...I’ll bury you all alive,” Craig said.
“Woah...too far on the threat there, Craig...tone it back down,” Tweek whispered.
The girls shuddered. Most of them stood up and began to leave like Daniel, but there were a few who apologized to Craig and Tweek, and said they didn’t mean to be mean and were simply following what the other girls were doing.
“It’s fine...but...I hope we can all get along from now on,” Tweek said.
“Same here,” Craig said.
“Well...glad that’s all done with,” Clyde said, “so uh...if everyone is fine now...shall we get to watching the rest of our...Twilight...marathon?” Clyde asked.
“Mmm...honestly...I’m kind of tired of Twilight for the night, can we watch something else?” Bebe said.
“Huh?”
“Yeah, I’ve seen all the movies like a hundred times already, so I’d like to see something else!”
“Same here!”
“Ditto!”
“So Clyde, know any interesting movies? I heard you know a lot about vampire movies, so do you know any good ones?” Bebe asked.
“....Y-yeah...I totally do! L-let me go find some!” Clyde exclaimed as he grabbed his laptop and began looking for a different movie to be played.
Tweek and Craig sat down on the floor together, smiling and feeling relieved that the rest of the night is calming down a bit. Tweek looked up at Craig before he leaned against him, resting his head against Craig’s shoulder.
“Thank you,” Tweek said.
“You know...considering I can hear whatever people are saying miles away...you should really be more honest with me from now on, Tweek,” Craig said, “you know I’ll always have your back.”
“....Yeah,” Tweek smiled, “I know,” Tweek said as he let out a sigh. “But boy...aren’t you happy that you won’t have to sit for another couple of hours watching Twilight movies, huh?”
“.....”
“...Craig?”
“....”
“....You...hypnotized the girls to not want to watch Twilight anymore tonight, didn’t you?”
“...Well...they were staring into my eyes...and I can hypnotize them without saying the commands out loud...and I thought I could do Clyde a solid...so…” Craig said.
Tweek chuckled as he snuggled closer to Craig. He really was in love with this vampire boy.
The next few days were full of happiness for both Craig and Tweek. Although they were keeping their relationship a secret since Tweek didn’t want to get too much attention, especially since there were still people that have a crush on Craig, and Tweek didn’t want to face the wrath of all those people by revealing he was dating the person they were in love with. Tweek simply hoped that once Craig showed he wasn’t interested, the fans would die out and he could relax more.
Tweek did tell his friends about him and Craig dating, and they were all very supportive. Especially Wendy, who kept saying she was right and was just smug about it.
“Told you so,” Wendy smirked.
Tweek sighed, his cheeks turning red, “I know...I know…” Tweek said.
“You totally owe me,” Wendy said.
“W-what? It’s not like I actually followed your advice, I just confessed to him after he told me that he liked me,” Tweek said.
“I know...but you wouldn’t have been more conscious about your feelings for Craig if I hadn’t urged you to tell him how you felt,” Wendy said.
“Does that even count as me owing you?” Tweek asked.
“What do you think?” Wendy smirked.
Tweek sighed, “fine...how about I buy you lunch today?”
“That would be nice, thank you,” Wendy said.
Tweek’s life had gotten better ever since he met Craig and started dating him. Not only was he getting to know more about vampires, but he got to date one. It’s...not weird, right?
“Wow...so vampires can levitate objects?” Tweek asked.
“Pretty much,” Craig said as he used his powers to levitate a glass of water from the coffee table. “Though...humans could probably do this too if their brain waves were a little more stronger,” Craig said, “it’s all in the mind, as some would say, and that’s pretty much true, in fact...a lot of magic is within the mind...but...you have to find a way to open up your mind enough in order to let out it’s potential,” Craig explained.
“So...like...using your brain one hundred percent?” Tweek asked.
“Pretty much,” Craig said.
“Fascinating,” Tweek said as he wrote it down in his personal vampire lore notebook. “Now...another thing I want to know...the whole fang situation. I noticed your teeth look normal,” Tweek said.
Craig chuckled as he gently placed the cup of water back down on the table, “of course, my fangs are retractable, see?” Craig lifted the right corner of his upper lip and revealed a tiny hole in his guns. Suddenly, a fang came out and Tweek’s eyes widened.
“Wow...so you can make it go in and out whenever you want?”
“Pretty much, though sometimes if I’m super hungry and in desperate need of blood, my fangs end up staying out until I can find an animal or something,” Craig explained.
“I see...well I guess disguising yourself as human is a lot easier for you since you can change your eyes and hide your fangs so easily. To imagine...there could be vampires walking among us...and we’ll never know!” Tweek said.
“....And you never will,” Craig sighed, “vampires have pretty much been wiped out of existence for hundreds of years now,” Craig said.
“Huh? How come?”
“.....Well...with how paranoid the world was back then...the moment people figured out who is a vampire because we weren’t careful enough, they all got killed. Burned alive, forced to eat garlic, or a simple stake to the heart,” Craig said, “by the way...the whole stake to the heart thing is true...but if you think about it, that could kill anyone,” Craig said.
“So...are you...technically the last vampire on Earth?”
“...Maybe...there might be a few stragglers out there...but I don’t think I’ll ever see another vampire again since we’ve all decided to hide ourselves from the world or try our best to erase the vampire part of ourselves,” Craig said.
“Still...it isn’t your fault there have been misunderstandings! To think...people just hurt others just because of their appearances…” Tweek said.
“....It wasn’t just appearances or misunderstandings that got a lot of my kind killed by humans,” Craig said.
“Huh?”
“....Remember how I said human blood makes us go...crazy?” Craig asked.
“Yeah?”
“....Well...that’s only half true,” Craig sighed, “it does make a majority of vampires go crazy, but there have been a few out there that had a strong enough will to not let it take over their thinking,” Craig said. “You see...back in the day...vampires did use to drink human blood for a living, not because it tasted better than animals, but because...it turns out...human blood gave us more power. The more we had, the more we became invincible. Many vampires got high from how powerful they became that not even things that could kill us would be able to put us down. Human blood almost made us immortal from death,” Craig explained, “however...with more power...you become mad. That’s why years of our brothers and sister getting killed by humans or even harming their own kind just to get more human blood, we all agreed to stop drinking human blood, that no one should harm another human, even if you have a much stronger hold of yourself,” Craig said, “...I’ll never understand how those vampires could harm a human just so they can be more powerful.”
“...Well...that’s the same for people. The more powerful you are, the more you lose your morality and ethics,” Tweek said, “it’s sad knowing someone who can be a good person could end up being a monster once they get a taste of power.”
“Yeah….and for my family...that was literal,” Craig sighed, “if...my sister hadn’t tasted that man’s blood, or got any of it into my parent’s mouth...we could have prevented all of this...they would be alive...and this story that those people made up a long time ago wouldn’t have painted us as the bad guys,” Craig sighed, “at times...I wish I could just go out there and shout at the world the true story of what happened, that we didn’t deserve to die, that we...didn’t mean to make them upset or cause such a huge misunderstanding….times like this...I wish I could go back in time and prevent any of it from happening…” Craig said.
“....Although I’m not sure telling the truth to everyone is going to work out since...there’s still people who might not accept you...or be willing to hear you out, but...I’ll be here to listen to your truth...and I will never doubt it,” Tweek said, “so...I hope telling me everything is enough for you.”
“....” Craig smiled before he suddenly grabbed Tweek and pulled him closer, “yeah...I think this is perfectly fine,” Craig said.
“...” Tweek blushed before he leaned forward to kiss Craig on the lips.
When the two pulled away for a second, their faces were red, and they both seemed to be in a daze. Craig pulled Tweek closer and kissed him again, this time kissing him for much longer. Tweek had closed his eyes as he kissed Craig back, feeling his heart beating in his chest. Craig pulled Tweek closer, practically having Tweek sit on his lap. Craig then placed his hand underneath Tweek’s shirt, rubbing the side of his stomach. Tweek blushed, but didn’t stop him, he just placed his hand on Craig’s shoulders and pulled him closer.
“...Ow!” Tweek pulled back when he felt something sharp poke his bottom lip, he then noticed he was bleeding a bit.
“Tweek!” Craig exclaimed as he realized his fangs came out, “oh fuck! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to bite you!” Craig exclaimed.
“I-I’m alright, your fangs didn’t go too deep,” Tweek said, “oh...but what about you!? Did you get any of my blood!?” Tweek asked, feeling worried.
“....No...I don’t think so...I think you pulled away quickly enough before any of your blood actually got into my mouth,” Craig said.
“Oh thank god,” Tweek sighed in relief, “I was so worried for you there.”
“You’re worried about me? What about you? You’re hurt because of me,” Craig said.
“It’s fine, it was an accident, right?”
Craig sighed, “yeah…” Craig said, “I guess I’m hungry for blood, that’s why my fangs came out all of a sudden. Guess doing that levitating trick really tired me out,” Craig sighed.
“Oh, do you need anything?”
“Do you have any meat still covered in blood?” Craig asked.
“Um...I don’t think so,” Tweek sighed.
“Then I guess it’s time I leave and find a squirrel or something,” Craig said.
“Want me to come with?” Tweek asked.
“No no...I might disturb you with how...I...hunt,” Craig said.
“...Craig?”
“....I’m...really sorry again,” Craig frowned, “I wish I don’t get hungry for blood at all...that I could just eat regular food without worrying about my energy and stuff like that,” Craig said.
“Hey...it’s okay,” Tweek said, “don’t be so hard on yourself.”
“Sorry...it’s just...sometimes...I do wish I was never a vampire and was just a regular human...I guess I now see how the other vampires felt when they wanted to forget the vampire part of them,” Craig said.
“....Craig...if you’re ever feeling troubled by this, you can tell me, but just know that I don’t care if you’re a vampire or human...I care about who you are, and I’ll always be there for you no matter what. So don’t think something like this makes you the bad guy,” Tweek said.
“...I know,” Craig said, smiling at Tweek a bit, though he was still unsure about things. “I...better go. I do get a bit moody when I’m blood hungry,” Craig sighed.
“Alright, see you tomorrow,” Tweek said.
“See you,” Craig said before he leaned forward to try and give Tweek a kiss, but seeing the blood on Tweek’s lips, he paused, felt guilty, but seeing Tweek’s eyes looking at him, and seeing the gentle way he was looking at him, Craig sighed before he finally kissed Tweek on the cheek.
Tweek smiled at him and waved him goodbye. Craig waved back before he finally left Tweek’s house. Craig sighed once he was outside, still feeling guilty about biting Tweek by accident. He cursed at his fangs for coming out at the wrong time, and he promised himself that he’ll bring a thermos of blood with him when he visits Tweek, and not just for school.
“Ugh...I better find something quick, or else I’m going to pass out from low energy,” Craig muttered as he can already feel himself getting dizzy. Craig sniffed the air before he could smell there was a squirrel nearby. Knowing he needed something quick, he decided to follow the scent of where the squirrel was.
He soon found himself near the park where it was completely empty since it was pretty late and people were most likely at home. Craig saw the squirrel by the swings, and using his super speed, he managed to grab the squirrel before it could even escape.
The squirrel squirmed in Craig’s hands and even bit him, but Craig, already used to small animals biting his hands after catching them, didn’t really flinch. He simply squeezed the squirrel as tightly as he could before the squirrel eventually suffocated and died in his hands.
“....Sorry…” Craig said, always apologizing to the animals he killed since he understood how precious life was, and in a way, he does feel bad when he has to take a life. If Craig didn’t need blood to keep himself steady, he wouldn’t be doing this, but he was a vampire, and a vampire needs blood. Sometimes, Craig really wondered how his father could hunt all those animals all those years ago. Craig sighed, thinking about his dad made him miss him, made him miss his entire family. Craig stared at the dead squirrel's body, and hearing his stomach growling, he sighed, opened his mouth wide, and began to drink the squirrel’s blood. When Craig is feeding, he tends to feed more messily, and his real eye color shows up. Since Craig thought he was alone, he went all in as he fed off the squirrel’s blood.
However, because he was so lost in his thoughts, he didn’t realize that someone was nearby, and saw him killing the squirrel and drinking its blood. Craig didn’t notice until a woman screamed, snapping him out of his feeding.
“V-v-vampire!” The woman screamed at the top of her lungs, alerting a few people that heard her.
“W-wait!” Craig exclaimed, “this is a misunderstanding!” Craig said.
Soon, people arrived from the woman’s scream, and when they saw Craig with blood over his mouth, fangs poking out, red eyes, and a dead squirrel in his hands, they all shouted vampire, screaming, shouting, gasping at what they were seeing. Craig was scared, he was reminded of the time his family were being attacked by the angry mob, and he realized he was experiencing the anger from the humans once more.
Craig needed to get out of there.
Craig quickly dropped the squirrel and used his vampire speed to get out of there. The crowd chased after them, quickly informing the entire town about there being a vampire in town. People formed together and continued to chase after Craig.
Craig managed to run to the woods, but could still hear people coming after him. He tried to keep running, but because he didn’t have enough blood from the squirrel, he was already losing energy, and he began to slow down.
“Fuck...no,” Craig cursed as he was now covered in sweat and felt dizzy. He needed to get away from the crowd, but had nowhere to run or hide. He then realized he wasn’t too far from the mansion. Craig figured he could hide inside before anyone noticed him. Craig made a run for the mansion.
“There he is!” Craig looked back and saw that the crowd was close, he kept running, not looking back, even as he could hear the crowd getting closer and closer.
Finally, Craig reached the mansion, he quickly headed inside and then rushed upstairs to get Stripe. He found Stripe in his room and quickly grabbed Stripe out of his cage and held him in his arms.
“We’re getting out of here, we gotta go, now!” Craig said as he left his room and quickly ran downstairs, hoping he had enough time to leave.
However, the moment he reached the bottom step, he froze when he saw the crowd had already caught up to him and were now surrounding the entire mansion. When the crowd saw he was inside, they all ran towards the door, some of them were trying to get in. Craig dropped Stripe out of fear when he saw the crowd, and saw Stripe escaping through a small hole in the wall. Craig knew he had to find a way to keep the crowd from coming in, so using what little energy he had, quickly levitated all the furniture and used them to barricade the door. The crowd tried to break through, but the furniture I placed at the door was keeping hold. With not much choice, Craig ran upstairs, hoping he could hide up there.
Once made it upstairs, he looked outside the window and saw how large the mob was. He panicked as he saw the mob dousing the mansion with what smelled like gasoline and oil. He soon realized they were planning to burn him alive.
“We gotta kill the vampire before it kills us all!”
“He must be the vampire from that story!”
“That means he’s dangerous! We can’t let him escape!”
Craig backed away from the window, feeling his heart sinking. It was happening again, a misunderstanding. Craig was going to die because of a misunderstanding.
“Ah...ah…” Craig had started to cry as he felt his entire body tremble. He was going to die, there was no escape. He barely managed to survive the first time the mansion was set on fire, but how was he supposed to get out now? He only escaped death the first time by hiding in a crawl space because he was small enough, but he was far too big to go under there now, and he can’t even used his powers to make himself smaller because he didn’t have enough energy after using the last ounce of his powers to create the barricade.
He was going to die, he was going to die and there’s no way he could avoid it. Craig’s heart sank as the realization finally hit him. What made him most upset was that he couldn’t even get to say goodbye to Tweek, he couldn’t see his smile, he couldn’t see his lovely green eyes, he couldn’t even get to kiss him.
“....Tweek…” Craig fell to the ground, shaking as he could hear the crowd outside before finally hearing the sound of a lighter.
He soon smelled smoke.
Tweek was sitting in his room, thinking about Craig. He couldn’t get the thought of Craig looking upset earlier out of his head. Tweek sighed, wondering if he should have done something more to keep Craig happy, but he wasn’t sure what. Tweek sighed, wishing he could talk to Craig, but he was sure Craig was already at home or busy hunting.
“....I miss him,” Tweek pouted as he thought about the kiss from earlier. Aside from his lip bleeding because of Craig’s fangs, Tweek really wanted to kiss again, he really wanted to see Craig again, he really wanted to see Craig smiling at him again.
Suddenly, Tweek got a phone call from Clyde. Confused since Clyde never calls him this late, Tweek answered his phone to see what was going on.
“Hey Clyde, what’s up?”
“T-Tweek! It’s Craig!” Clyde shouted.
Tweek froze, “w-what about Craig!? Did something happen!?”
“I...I don’t know what to tell you man! The whole thing is...insane!”
“W-what are you saying? What happened to Craig?” Tweek exclaimed.
“I don’t even...how...I...I always liked a good vampire movie...but...I never expected that I’d see a real life vampire...and knew who that vampire was! This is insane!”
Tweek froze. Clyde figured out that Craig was a vampire? How? What happened? “Clyde...what’s going on?”
“Well..a lady saw Craig with fangs and blood on his mouth, and she screamed! Soon a crowd formed and saw Craig, and quickly they realized he was the vampire from that old story we read, remember? The story of the vampire family in that cursed mansion? Now the angry mob chased after Craig and I heard they started a fire!”
“F-fire!?” Tweek shouted.
“I know! It’s crazy! I...I’m shocked that Craig is a vampire, but...I can’t believe they’re going to burn him! I...I don’t know how to feel about this,” Clyde said.
“....Craig…” Tweek quickly left his house and began running towards Craig’s house. “Craig!” Tweek shouted as tears ran down his eyes as he hurried, hoping he wasn’t too late to stop the crowd.
When Tweek reached the woods and rushed towards the direction of where the old mansion was, he froze when he smelled smoke. Tweek hurried and his heart sank as he saw the flames surrounding the mansion.
“W-what are you doing!? Stop!” Tweek cried out.
“Are you insane!? There’s a vampire in there!”
“He’s not a bad vampire though! He doesn’t want to hurt anyone! All he wants is a peaceful life!” Tweek shouted.
“This kid must be under that vampire’s hypnosis! We have to get him before he tries anything!”
“No! Wait!” Tweek cried out as he felt most of the adults grabbing him and trying to push him to the ground. “What happened in that story was all false! Craig and his family didn’t kill anyone! It’s all a big misunderstanding! Please, you have to believe me!” Tweek shouted.
“That vampire must have put him under a powerful spell! Once that vampire is dead, then the boy will be okay!”
“No! Please!” Tweek cried.
“Hey! Get off of him!” Suddenly, Clyde and Token came and pushed the adults away, freeing Tweek. “Tweek, run!” Clyde shouted.
“....” Tweek quickly ran, dodging the crowd and anyone that tried to stop him. He quickly rushed towards the back of the mansion until he suddenly found himself in what appeared to be a garden. Tweek looked back, but saw that he managed to lose anyone that came to chase after him. Tweek sighed, but quickly looked at the mansion, seeing it was in flames. He had to get in there and save Craig, but how? “Fuck! Those people are blocking the only exit, and I don’t even know if there’s another way in! What do I do!?” Tweek panicked.
Suddenly, Tweek noticed a small creature moving on the ground. Taking a closer look, he realized it was Stripe.
“Stripe!” Tweek called out before rushing towards him. “What are you doing out here?” Tweek panicked. Seeing that Stripe was not hurt, he let out a sigh, hugging the guinea pig in his arms, “thank god you’re safe...but we gotta save Craig!” Tweek looked around before looking at Stripe, “...you wouldn’t...happen to know a way in, do you?” Tweek asked. Tweek placed Stripe down, and much to his surprise, Stripe began walking away from him before stopping and seemed to be pointing at what looked to be a window that led to the basement. “Holy shit...did Craig teach you to do that?” Tweek asked.
Of course, Stripe didn’t respond.
“Okay...here I go,” Tweek quickly smashed the glass, and cleared up as much of the glass away before he got down and carefully crawled through the tiny window. Luckily, he was able to fit through, so once he was inside the basement, he quickly ran upstairs. “Craig! Craig!?” Tweek called out, but saw that he wasn’t on the first floor, Tweek then quickly rushed towards the second floor, but let out a scream when a beam suddenly fell and was on fire. “Shit!” Tweek exclaimed as he knew he was running out of time, and needed to get Craig out of there.
Tweek soon reached the second floor and looked around, but saw that Craig wasn’t in the hallway. That was until Tweek realized he must be in his room. Tweek ran towards the door and opened it, shocked to see Craig lying on the ground, looking exhausted.
“Craig!”
“....Tweek?”
“Craig! Oh my god, what happened?”
“The smoke...it was too much,” Craig said before coughing.
The fire started to get bad and was coming inside. Tweek quickly lifted Craig up and tried to carry him, but realized that he wouldn't be able to get both him and Craig out while Craig was like this.
“Craig, you gotta get up, we gotta get out of here!”
“I can’t,” Craig coughed, “too...weak,” Craig said.
“Please! You gotta try and get up! Or else we’ll die!”
“....Tweek...just go and save yourself,” Craig said with tears in his eyes, “leave me behind...I’m just a vampire...and to you humans….vampires are nothing but blood sucking monsters.”
“Don’t say that! You’re nothing like that! You’re the sweetest, kindest, and loving vampire I’ve ever met, and I’m not going to leave you here to die! We are getting out of here together!”
“...I wish I could...but I can’t even think straight right now. I need blood...but there’s not a single animal here that I can feed off of, not even a rat,” Craig said.
“.....Then me...drink my blood,” Tweek said.
Craig’s eyes widened, “what? No!”
“It’s the only way!”
“You know what will happen!”
“I know...but...I know you’re stronger than those vampires that went crazy! I know you can keep a good hold of your sanity and not let it get to you! I know you can take my blood without having a desire to take more! Please, Craig! It’s the only way!”
“I...I can’t!” Craig exclaimed.
“.....” Tweek then noticed the fangs poking out of Craig’s lips, and suddenly he had an idea. “...I’m not giving you a choice here, Craig,” Tweek said before he leaned forward and kissed Craig, allowing his fangs to pierce through Tweek’s bottom lip!
“Mfff!” Craig tried to pull away as he felt his fangs poking at Tweek’s lips, but Tweek kept a good hold of him. Craig froze as he tasted Tweek’s blood on his tongue, some dribbling down Craig’s chin. His mind went blank, and he felt a surge of energy go through his body that it almost felt unreal. He felt lighter, he felt as if his senses had become even stronger. The taste of Tweek’s blood was surprisingly sweet to Craig, and Craig almost craved more.
“A-ah!” Tweek flinched when Craig placed his hands onto Tweek’s shoulders and shoved Tweek down to the ground. Craig bit more into Tweek’s bottom lip, drawing more blood. “C-Craig!” Tweek pushed Craig away, staring at him with tears in his eyes. His heart dropped as he saw the manic look on Craig’s face, seeing how he was staring at the blood all over Tweek’s mouth and chin.
“...Blood...delicious blood! I need more...more!” Craig exclaimed.
“Craig! No!” Tweek pushed Craig’s shoulders, preventing him from leaning any closer. “Please! You can’t do this! You have to fight it! You have to not give in to your bloodlust! We have to get out of here! Please! Craig!” Tweek shouted.
“Just...give me a little...I won’t take a lot...just...a little more!” Craig said, his eyes practically shaking as he pushed closer and closer that Tweek wasn’t able to push him away for much longer.
Tweek’s eyes were filled with tears, believing that he was going to be killed like this, by the person he loved. “....You’re not a bad vampire, Craig! You’re a good vampire, a vampire who is kind, sweet, adorable, and loving!” Tweek exclaimed, “you wouldn’t do this! You wouldn’t hurt me like this!” Tweek shouted. Craig was inches away from his face, staring at him with a crazed look. “...I love you...I love you, Craig!”
“....” Craig froze and he stared at Tweek, his eyes no longer shaking. He saw the tears in Tweek’s eyes as he trembled in fear. His mouth was bleeding so much because of how much he was crying and stretching his lips. “....Tweek…”
Tweek looked up and saw Craig wasn’t acting crazy anymore. Tweek let out a sigh of relief before more tears fell out. “I knew you wouldn’t hurt me...I knew it!”
“....I’m so sorry,” Craig said as he quickly wiped the blood from Tweek’s lips. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine...but...we have to get out of here, now!”
“....Right,” Craig said as he quickly lifted Tweek up in his arms and ran out of the room. Once they reached the bottom floor, Craig looked at the barricade and used his powers to push the furniture away before pulling the doors open. Craig then looked at Tweek, and keeping him close in his arms, Craig ran out of the door.
The crowd gasped as they saw the vampire leaving the mansion, while holding Tweek in his arms. At first, the crowd was scared, but Clyde suddenly ran towards them, tears in his eyes.
“You’re alive!” Clyde shouted as he rushed over and hugged Craig and Tweek, “I thought you were dead! I was so worried!”
“We’re fine, Clyde, thanks to Craig...he saved me,” Tweek said.
Clyde looked up at Craig and took a step back, “so...you’re not...like...one of those vampires that want to hurt people...right?”
“....No...I just want to live a normal life and be a teenage boy here in town,” Craig said.
“....That’s good enough for me!” Clyde said as he hugged them, “and dude...if you ever need blood...I can lend you some of mine! Though...not a lot..and please give me a heads up if you’re feeling...hungry,” Clyde said.
“Uh...thanks...but...I’m good,” Craig said.
“I’ll...explain everything about real vampires to you later...there’s so much that movies got wrong,” Tweek smiled.
“Woah…”
“Uh...guys? What the heck is going on here!?” Token exclaimed.
“....” Craig gently placed Tweek down before turning towards the mansion, seeing it was still on fire. He let out a sigh before staring at the flames, and before anyone knew it, the fire was gone. Craig then turned towards the crowd, seeing how scared they were now, Craig frowned, but looking at Tweek and the others, he took a deep breath, and let his anger subside. “...As you all know...I’m a vampire,” Craig started, “and not just a vampire, but the vampire from that story about the vampire family,” Craig said.
The crowd gasped loudly. Some murmured to each other.
“....However...that story that was told about me and my family is completely wrong! My family didn’t move here to hurt anyone! We never killed anyone! We came here...to live in peace with you humans,” Craig said, “I know it’s hard to believe my words, and I know you all don’t trust me...but would I really be standing here in front of a mob and possibly risking my life? Or better yet, would I be standing here and talking to you all instead of ripping your throats out or hypnotizing you all after you all tried to kill me?”
“.....”
“....Yes...I’m a vampire...and yes...I drink blood...but...I don’t hurt humans. All I want...is to live a normal life among you humans. Make friends,” Craig looked at Clyde, Token, and Jimmy, “fine love, “Craig looked at Tweek, “and be part of a community. Is that so wrong?”
“....Should we...trust him?”
“Well we can’t really attack...he might overpower us!”
“But he’s just standing there and talking...actually being civil with us.”
“And he sounds...genuine.”
“....I know it’s hard to accept me, but before I’m a vampire...I’m a person...and I deserve my own rights. I have feelings, I fear death, and I think like most of you! So before any of you take out your torches and pitchforks...why don’t I at least tell you what really happened in that story...what really happened with my family...and just tell you the truth...then...you all can make your final judgement about me,” Craig said.
The crowd were unsure about it all, but hearing the vampire speaking to them calmly and seeing how desperate he was, they all eventually settled and began to listen to his story.
“....It all began when my family moved to a small mountain town…”
Tweek sighed as he stared at the small cage in his room. He chuckled when he saw Stripe happily munching away on his lettuce. Tweek reached out and carefully pet Stripe on the head through the bars.
“Don’t eat so fast, Stripe,” Tweek sighed, “gosh...you’re a lot bigger than normal today...have you been overeating again?”
Of course, Stripe didn’t reply since he was a guinea pig.
Tweek frowned, “Craig!” Tweek stood up and left his room, he climbed down the stairs and saw Craig sleeping on the couch. “Craig...wake up!”
“H-huh?” Craig opened his eyes, he seemed to be in a daze. He turned his head, seeing Tweek looking at him. “W-what time is it?” Craig asked.
“Twelve in the afternoon,” Tweek said.
“Huh? Why are you waking me up so late?” Craig asked.
“Because I can’t wait for you to wake until six,” Tweek sighed, “have you been overfeeding Stripe again? You know he’s on a strict diet,” Tweek said.
Craig pouted, “What’s so bad about giving him a few extra treats every now and then?”
Tweek crossed his arms, “too many treats aren’t good for growing guinea pigs, Craig,” Tweek said, “besides, as long as you and Stripe are living in my house while your mansion is being rebuilt and repainted, you have to listen to my rules,” Tweek said.
Craig frowned, “sorry…”
“.....” Tweek sighed before walking over and kissing Craig on the cheek, “don’t make that face...you know I can’t resist you when you make that face.”
Craig smiled, “because my face is that handsome to you?”
Tweek snorted, “yes...very handsome,” Tweek said. “Now...since you’re awake...mind helping me with the chores? Mom and dad told me they wanted the house clean, and it’s going to take me a while to do all of it by myself,” Tweek said.
“Can’t, I’m a vampire, remember? I shouldn’t even be up right now,” Craig said as he leaned back and closed his eyes.
“Oh...please?” Tweek begged him.
“....” Craig sighed before looking up at Tweek. “Arm…”
“....” Tweek gave Craig his arm, and Craig stuck a fang out before piercing through Tweek’s skin. Tweek flinched, but stayed calm as Craig took a small sip of his blood before letting him go. Craig then looked around before snapping his fingers, and before Tweek knew it, the house was totally spotless. “Wow...you’ve gotten better at controlling your powers!”
“It’s thanks to your blood, nothing more,” Craig said.
“Yeah, but I’m glad your willpower is a lot stronger now, now I don’t have to worry about you wanting to drain all my blood out of my body,” Tweek said.
Craig smiled, “only because I care about you more than powers,” Craig said.
Tweek smiled before he sat down on the couch, “I love you, Craig.”
Craig smiled, “I love you too, Tweek,” Craig said.
Tweek soon laid down next to Craig and gave him a kiss on the lips. Craig smiled and kissed him back, before they pulled away and laid on the couch together, happy to have the other in their arms.
“So...before you sleep...can I ask one question?”
Craig sighed, “what is it?”
“Do vampires actually sleep in coffins?”
“Ah...that question,” Craig sighed, “technically, no since those things are very uncomfortable. Most of us prefer a nice comfy bed...or..sleeping upside down and hanging off the ceiling,” Craig said.
“Really?” Tweek asked.
“Yep...though...there is actually some real history behind vampires sleeping in the coffin, and that had to do with this story about one vampire that slept in a coffin for some reason,” Craig said.
“Really? Why?”
“It’s a long story,” Craig said.
Tweek smiled, “tell me everything!”
“....Guess I’m not going to go back to sleep anytime soon,” Craig sighed, but smiled seeing that Tweek was happy. “So...it all started when a vampire found an empty casket at a graveyard…”
For a Tweek who is a vampire loving nerd and Craig, who is a kind vampire, the two were happy and lived happily ever after.
The end.
