To Do Some Good

Summary:

Bakugou Mitsuki didn’t raise a misogynist. That was for sure. Being the only boy with an extended family that seemed to have...a lot of girls. Katsuki had a lot of secondhand knowledge that being a woman wasn’t exactly the easiest. So, of course, like any respectable man should. So to say that Katsuki saw everyone as an equal… He meant it. While Katsuki wasn’t the best at showing his friends how much they meant to him. The girls in Class 1A seemed to make sense of the blond, and in return, he only could do his best to help them the same.

Aka Szeh's 4th prompt -- A boy from 1A being like a big brother to one of the 1A girls or the opposite - one of the 1A girls being like a big sister to one of the 1A boys.

Work Text:

Bakugou Mitsuki didn’t raise a misogynist. That was for sure. Being the only boy with an extended family that seemed to have...a lot of girls. Katsuki had a lot of secondhand knowledge that being a woman wasn’t exactly the easiest. So, of course, like any respectable man should.

Now Katsuki knew that the girls in his class were strong. He couldn’t deny that. Uplifting and protecting his female classmates was something that Katsuki was taught to do from a very early age.

So to say that Katsuki saw everyone as an equal… He meant it. While Katsuki wasn’t the best at showing his friends how much they meant to him. The girls in Class 1A seemed to make sense of the blond, and in return, he only could do his best to help them the same.

Ashido Mina

To say that Mina was having a bad hair day… was an underestimate. Her hair just wasn’t cooperating, and her pink curls still looked a hot mess from the rushed attempt at trying to make it even look semi-decent.

Mina’s mother had always taught her to wear her hair with pride. Today though...she just couldn’t do it. To say that the disappointment and frustration definitely showed in her demeanor was obvious. Her classmates seemingly avoided bringing up her mess of hair… Mina was so sure they also thought it looked terrible.

Staring the hardest at her though, was Bakugou. It took everything in Mina not to go and smack the look off the blond asshole’s face.

“Why are you staring at me like that Bakugou! I get my hair looks bad but like...Damn!  Do you really have to stare that hard?” Ashido questioned the blond a couple of seats across from her.

“Tch,” Bakugou responded with a scoff.

“Well, what is THAT supposed to mean!” Ashido cried, getting up from her seat. The other members of Class 1A could only really watch the interaction. Aizawa was knocked out cold in the corner, and they all collectively hoped he wouldn’t have to wake up.

“Racoon Eyes if you needed help with your fucking hair just say that.” Bakugou scoffed at Mina, which honestly startled the pink girl. Mina watched as Bakugou got up from his chair and walked to her bag, pulling out her comb and spray bottle.

What was he trying to do?

Mina recalled hoping to be able to fix it in the bathroom before class started. She had honestly forgotten that she had that stuff in her bag. Bakugou places the stuff on Mina’s desk and gestures for her to sit down.

“I know how to do a ponytail but that’s it,” Bakugou says coolly. Mina, unsure of how to take this, follow along and sits down.

“Uhh, Bakugou? My hair is uhh...pretty curly are you sure you can do this? I’d really like my hair not to be even worse if you fuck it up.” Mina laughs hoping to play off her genuine concern as Bakugou sprays the water into her hair.

“I got it.” The blond mutters before decidedly explaining. “My cousin’s hair is just like yours. I, uhh, remember my aunt showing me how to do her hair.”

The image of Bakugou trying to do a little girl’s hair almost made Mina laugh. It was just...absurd! Mina didn’t exactly know much about Bakugou. Especially when she compared her knowledge of him to that of say...Kirishima or Kaminari. However, at this moment Mina could remember the many conversations Bakugou mentioned with his little cousin who lived in America.

It was amusing since (from what Ashido had seen) Bakugou didn’t exactly have the best personality to deal with kids. However, if this girl was related to him… It could make sense after a while.

Mina pulled out her phone and watched as Bakugou combed through Mina’s braids before pulling her pink curls into a small puff of a ponytail. It was simple, neat, and a lot better than what Ashido could’ve even managed to do all day.

Ashido could feel slight tears come to her eyes. Looking up at the blond, and back at the camera acting as a mirror, she smiled.

“Bakubrooo… Thank you so much for helping me!!!”

Ashido smiled before trying to rush and give him a hug. The taller boy pushed her off before resigning himself to the clutches of Mina.

“It’s literally just a ponytail Racoon Eyes...Save your thanks for something that you’re actually grateful for.” Bakugou grumbled.

Hagakure Tooru

Tooru wasn’t good at makeup… at all. Maybe it was the fact that she literally couldn’t see herself, but at the same time, it’s not like she hadn’t tried! She tried a lot to do the whole...makeup thing. The whole process was a mess...But Tooru was quite determined to master it.

So here she is sitting in the common room, with a bunch of makeup laid out, and her phone propped up with a makeup tutorial.

She could do this!

Tooru couldn’t do it.

Tooru sat in the common room for what felt like forever so that she could just try and get a handle on the idea of doing her own makeup. She watched tutorial after tutorial, and none of them seemed to make sense. The fancy wording, and all the weird nonsense just… really didn’t click for her at all.

Taking a break, Tooru left to go and clean the makeup she had off her face. Coming back into the common areas though, the invisible girl found Bakugou holding a bowl of food and seemingly sniffing around her workspace. As she walked over she decided to confront the blond.

“Hey, Bakugou! Whatcha eating!” Tooru decided to ask about the food first instead of being outright rude and asking why he was sniffing around her makeup.

“Just some soba. Icyhot made too much.” Bakugou responded to Tooru before showing a mouthful of soba in his mouth before sitting in the chair next to Tooru’s setup.

“The fuck are you doing?” Bakugou asked pointedly. Tooru knew that the blond wasn’t usually up for talking, and in all honesty? She kinda liked her conversations with Bakugou.

“Well, I’m trying to figure out this whole makeup thing y’know?” Tooru pulled up pictures of her attempts at trying to get something decent. They weren’t bad per se? Tooru definitely wouldn’t go out in public with her face looking the way it did though.

“Not bad,” Bakugou mumbled as Tooru showed the boy her attempts. Furrowing her brows, the invisible gal was curious.

“What do you know about makeup? Huh, Bakugou? You don’t strike me as the makeup type!” Tooru decided a playfully light jab would probably get an answer out of him.

“My mom is a skincare model… I see her do that shit all the time.”

Tooru’s eyebrows raised. She didn’t know that! I mean...well she knew that Bakugou’s parents were kinda well known? But, Tooru could admit she didn’t exactly know or like… how or what they were known for. With how Bakugou’s skin looks though? It’s no surprise his mother’s a skincare model.

Tooru sees an opportunity here. Like most of the opportunities she encounters, she has seen the opening and has decided to take it. Tooru and Bakugou sat in silence, as the blond ate, and Tooru scrolled on her phone, kinda to take a break.

“So like...Do you know how to actually do makeup? I’ve been trying to figure out how to do it on my own...but it’s honestly kinda hard?” Tooru frowned a little and hoped her tone would convince Bakugou to help her if he could.

The blond stared at her for a moment.

“Fine.”

Cheering Tooru clapped her hands and shrieked in excitement. A real person who could help! Tooru had tried to ask some of the girls, but in all honesty...they weren’t the best of teachers.

Momo tried, but she isn’t good with makeup either, so having Bakugou here to help her attempt something new really made her happy.

Bakugou finished the last of his soba, went to the kitchen to clean up, and then came back to sit in his seat.

“I can’t see your face. I’m just gonna tell you what to do and you follow my instructions okay?” Bakugou grunted. This wasn’t exactly how he planned to spend his afternoon.

“Alright! Let’s do this!” Tooru giggled as Bakugou explained the brushes she had and the different colors. She wasn’t able to explain how, but Bakugou had a way with words.

The way the blond was explaining everything...just made sense to Tooru. Could this just be Bakugou’s inner teacher coming out? Or was he just good at explaining makeup since his mom showed him. Tooru didn’t know but greatly appreciated it nonetheless.

By the end of Bakugou’s teaching lesson with Tooru, she could definitely say she had a base she could start with to learn how to do her own makeup.

Jirou Kyouka

Kyouka...hated being sick. She hated the chills, she hated how scratchy her voice was, she hated throwing up, sneezing, taking medication… The purple-haired girl just hated all of it.

So here she was...laid up in her comfy bed and trying to relax so she could hopefully take a nap and sleep some of the sickly feelings away.

First, it was too hot! Then it was too cold! Finally, when she thought she was okay...She had the feeling like she had to use the bathroom and Kyouka just…couldn’t take it.

She wasn’t goldilocks for Pete's sake!

Frowning as she sat back down on her bed, she decided to grab her guitar and play something just so she could get her mind off of how miserable she was.

Plucking and strumming the strings of her guitar the girl lost herself in the music. Kyouka really did love her guitar.

Knock Knock Knock

A sharp rapping of knocks laid into Kyouka’s door.

Who the heck could that possibly be? The girl thought to herself. Pulling herself up and out of her bed. Kyouka made her way to her door and swung it open.

“Bakugou?” The purple-haired girl spoke surprised. What the heck was he doing at her dorm.

“I heard you were sick...here.” Bakugou placed a warm thermos in her hands. Staring down at the thermos, Kyouka was absolutely dumbfounded.

“Bakugou what is this?”

“Soup? You’re sick aren’t you?” Bakugou growled at being questioned seemingly needlessly.

“Oh well uh...thanks?” Kyouka cracked a half-smile, still feeling quite awkward from the bizarre encounter. Bakugou in return huffed.

“Just get better okay…” The blond muttered under his breath as he (presumably) walked back to the elevator. Kyouka looked down at the thermos before shrugging and bringing it with her as she sat in her room.

Placing the thermos on her desk, Kyouka’s stomach at that moment decided that it was time to eat, and growled loudly to make that fact known.

“Well, it’s probably not that bad if Bakugou made it.” She mumbled while grabbing the thermos and opening it. The soup inside smelled heavenly, and Bakugou had probably just finished making the food if it was still this steamy. Kyouka blew into the thermos, before drinking some of the soup inside.

She smiled knowing that she was right about it being good. Bakugou’s food was a blessing and Kyouka honestly didn’t think about how much it would make her feel better since her stomach was still being weird.

Bakugou could be nice… in his own weird Bakugou way.

Asui Tsuyu

Sometimes Tsuyu wished that she had...better proportions. Finding clothes that fit her was always a bit of a challenge, and this weekend was no different. While the froggy girl loved shopping with her friends, she hated how while she could find her size...something was always just off about her clothes.

Since she was a little tadpole, getting her clothes tailored was always something she had to do. Whether it was that the sleeves were too short, or the skirt was too long. Tsuyu couldn’t help but find the entire situation just...irritating.

“Tsuyu, why haven’t you worn the clothes we got the other day? I know you were excited to wear them! Did you change your mind?” Ochako asked one day while they and Class 1A had been hanging out together in the common area.

“O-Oh it’s no big deal, ribbit. I have to get the clothes tailored, but I have to wait till I go home to do that, unfortunately, ribbit. ”

“Oh!! I get it! That sucks big time Tsu…” Ochacho patted Tsuyu’s back and the two moved onto other topics.

Later that night, however, Tsuyu decided to go and get a snack from the kitchen. To her surprise she found Bakugou at one of the counters, quietly munching on some crackers he seemed to have found in the cupboard.

Tsuyu didn’t mind and grabbed herself a small bag of chips. She wasn’t really awake enough to be picky at the moment. Grabbing a couple of chips, Tsuyu decided to try and make light conversation with the blond in front of her.

“Why are you up so late Bakugou, ribbit .” Tsuyu croaked.

“Not really any of your business frog face.” Bakugou bit back. Ever the charmer the blond was.

Tsuyu frowned at Bakugou’s remark and decided to eat her chips in silence as Bakugou ate his crackers. The blond seemingly diffused himself as he finished his crackers, which perfectly seemed to line up with Tsuyu finishing her chips.

The two students walked to the elevator. Bakugou looked at Tsuyu before sighing.

“Sorry.” He mumbled.

Tsuyu’s eyes widened a bit. Unprepared for the quiet apology as the elevator doors opened. The two stepped in and Bakugou pressed the buttons to the respective levels that their dorms resided on.

“Look, I heard you talking to fucking Round Cheeks. You need your clothes tailored right? I can do that…if you need.”

Tsuyu didn’t exactly know what to say. Bakugou offering his...kindness like this wasn’t something she was expecting at two in the morning.

“Okay, can we talk about that tomorrow? Ribbit. ” Tsuyu responded quietly.

“Sure.” Bakugou nodded, and with a ding, the elevator doors opened and let the blond out onto his floor. As the door closed Tsuyu could only smile a little bit.

It was interesting to the greenette how Bakugou helped out the other girls in her class. She should’ve expected this sooner or later huh…

Uraraka Ochako

Ochako hated going out on her own. The young teen could admit that she had...assets. These assets only attracted some real creeps when she decided to go out on her own.

Today Ochako really wanted to go to the local bookstore, she had heard from Mina that they had restocked a particular heroics theory book that she had been trying to find for a couple of weeks was at the store for once...and man did Ochako want to snag it.

However, Deku and Iida were both out on a bit of a training excursion and couldn’t go to the store with her today. So she decided to sit and hang out in the common rooms until they got back. Hopefully, she’d still have time to go and snag it by the time the two get back.

Mind-Numbing television bore into Ochako’s eyes until a rough voice barked.

“Yo I’m going to the bookstore!”

With the slam of the dorm building's door, it took Ochako a couple of seconds too long to realize exactly where Bakugou was going.

“Oh shit! Bakugou wait!!!” The brunette screeched as she ran after him, tugging on her shoes.

Catching up to Bakugou wasn’t too hard. Luckily the blond was generous enough to wait before departing from school grounds so Ochako could catch up.

“Come on Round Face! I don’t got all day!” The blond yelled.

“I’m coming! I’m coming!” Ochako responded back with cut enthusiasm.

As the two walked, Bakugou and Ochako made some small talk. While the two weren’t exactly friends. It wasn’t as if the two weren’t strangers. After getting to the bookstore Bakugou scanned the store.

“Meet back here in ten?” Ochako asked. Bakugou nodded in response. It shouldn’t take her more than 10 minutes to find the book hopefully.

Splitting of the two explored the bookstore, Bakugou seemingly grazed the romance novel section not exactly looking for anything specific while Ochako searched for the book she had come for.

“Hey aren’t you a Yuuei student?” Ochako suddenly heard a voice call from behind her. Ochako turned and got up to face the voice.

“Oh me?”

There were two boys in front of Ochako now. One of the boys had stark white hair, while the other had curly light brown hair. The two boys wore middle school uniforms that Ochako didn’t really recognize. A downside to not being familiar with the area.

“Yeah! I’ll say Yuuei always picks the pretty ones huh Takao?” The brunette boy spoke while staring Ochako up and down. It made her uncomfortable. Pulling on her shirt, Ochako noticed the book she was looking for behind them.

“Oh well uhh, thanks? I guess! I’m just looking for a book and then I’m getting out of here with my friend y’know?” Ochako tried to laugh off her anxiety, however, the two boys didn’t seem to get that idea as they tried to come closer. The gravity user in all honesty kinda froze in what to do…

Oi! Are you fucks bothering her?”

Ochako in all honesty? Sighed in relief. The two boys turned their attention to Bakugou, who in all honesty? Looked red hot with annoyance.

“We were just talking. I swear dude! No need to get your ass in a twist.” The white-haired boy stated.

“Yeah well, I don’t believe that shit for two seconds. Scram before I make you.” Bakugou cut the two boys from even trying to consider otherwise. The two boys walked off ( and seemingly out of the store ) and Ochako snagged the book she was looking for.

“Thanks, Bakugou.”

“Don’t even say anything...” He grumbled in response.

Yaoyorozu Momo

Momo would usually say that she could handle Mineta. However, this crossed a line. A very thick red line. That very thick red line being her hero suit.

Today’s training was a bit of a hide-and-seek type of game. In this tall building of a maze, it was easy to get lost. Unfortunately for Momo during the game took the chance to essentially fuck up Momo’s costume and she could only hope that she could just hideout where she was.

Being topless during training was never fun for anyone involved and All Momo wanted to do was leave the area and change. She didn’t really have the energy to make a shirt for herself so leaving and then coming back was her best bet. Turning the corner, Momo, unfortunately, bumped something.

That something being Bakugou of course. Well Shit.

“Oh fuck! Where’s your fucking Ponytail shirt!?” Bakugou yelled out of shock. Momo could only feel more embarrassed about her predicament.

“Uh...Mineta ruined my shirt when I ran into him…” Momo could only explain in a whisper, the situation was just ridiculous.

Bakugou deadpanned at Momo and shook his head. Slipping his hands out of the large grenades, Bakugou pulled off his shirt. Tossing the black tee Momo yanked it on. In all honesty, it was snug.

“Thanks, Bakugou...You didn’t really have to do that.” Momo thanked him gratefully pulling the top over herself. The blond had turned away to give her a semblance of respect, which Momo was honestly grateful for in the midst of her embarrassment.

“Eh It’s not a big deal,'' Bakugou looked slightly dumbfounded at Momo's thanks. “ Ponytail... which way did that fucking grape go? I’m gonna show him a big fucking deal if he thinks the shit he pulled was cute.” Bakugou snarled.

Momo couldn’t help but think that Bakugou was very much like an older brother figure to her at that moment.
