“You know, we aren’t dating, technically…” Tenya starts, sounding uncertain.
Katsuki looked up from his book, already having suspicions as to where the conversation would be heading. “Yeah, what about it?”
Tenya started to trace the letters of the schedule he had been putting together (the schedule helped with both his and Katsuki’s anxiety, so it was a must), a sign of his rising nervousness, “Well, I know that girls have been… approaching you since you won the Sports Festival again, and, uh, I also know you’ve been turning them down.”
“Because I have you.”
“But… we’re just… queerplatonic.”
“There’s no need to add ‘just’ into that sentence.” Katsuki was quick to interject, “We may not be dating or romantically involved, but that’s because, as far as I know, neither of us want to be.”
“Yeah, but… you don’t have to turn down romantic partners if you don’t want to just because of me.”
“I want to turn them down. I’m happy with you, even if it’s not romantic, okay?”
“Okay.” Tenya let out a breath, finally relaxing and turning back to the schedule he was drawing up while Katsuki turned back to his book. “We have free time next Friday afternoon, would you like to go out?”
Katsuki smiled softly, replying, “Yeah, we could check out that new book shop that opened up a couple streets away.”
