Chapter Text
- First off, before anything else happens, I’m going to establish 1, changes from canon and 2, a little bit of worldbuilding.
- So to start off, the changes. The big one is that this takes place in my not yet written (and might never be written) au.
- Now I just want to start off by saying that my au is basically a huge fuck you to canon.
- The biggest change is that Kurapika stays with Gon and Killua the whole time. If I ever write it that will require some serious finagling on my part, but whatever, it doesn’t matter for what I’m going to be doing.
- One of the other changes relates to Kurapikas nen contract. This is part of where the fuck you comes in because in my au Kurapikas nen contract doesn’t say ONLY the spiders, it also includes threats to his friends. And yes, I do know that changing that should massively weaken his chains but fuck canon, amiright?
- Also a small side note is that in my au Kurapika using emporer time doesn’t subtract years from his life because just fuck that and fuck canon
- Also related to nen: gon doesn’t give his nen in this au because I don’t like that.
- On the topic of how he lost his nen in canon, Kite didn’t die in this because I said so. Yes I know he didn’t *technically* permanently die in canon but I mean like he actually survived in his body.
- I hope y’all understand how much I meant it when I said fuck canon.
- This is a rather small this that won’t really make much of a difference, but in this Gon doesn’t sell his hunter license because that was really stupid.
- I might add more changes in future chapters but this is it for what I came up with for now.
- Now for a small bit of worldbuilding about this crossover.
- So I’m assuming the main question people will have is something along the lines of ‘what’s going on with there being both hunters and heroes?’
- So I’m not totally sure myself, but it’s something to do with how heroes are solely about protecting people (or at least they should be) while hunters have a lot more variation.
- For example, there was that lady during the exam who was a gourmet hunter, or biscuit, who if I remember correctly was a rare jewel hunter.
- Also, hunters can’t be arrested for public quirk use/vigilantism (because in the vigilantes spin-off series it was mentioned that in the bnha worlds vigilantism is more about quirk use than the whole fighting crime thing)
- Also, some of y’all might be wondering why the kurtas eyes are so special in this world of quirks/
- I’m not sure yet on which of these two answers I’m going to go with.
- One is just that the specific color is sought after. Take Eri for example, her eyes are red. But maybe they’re just a normal red, while kurta eyes are super special.
- The other option is that nobody has red eyes. Aizawa’s eyes flash purple instead of red (which btw, when I first thought that up I was like ‘wow that’s a super cool mental image’) and Eri might also have purple eyes so the match.
- This is just a random bit but Gon, Killua, and Kurapika are technically not vigilantes by legal standards, but are them in pretty much every other way.
- Also because I wanted to give Gon a secret to keep (because Killua and Kurapika have several) after the whole chimera ant/succession arc drama Gon...accidentally killed a few people during his vigilantism.
- Fortunately for him, he has friends who can and will hide a body
- Although technically he can’t be arrested for that due to the whole ‘being a hunter apparently means you can kill whoever you want without legal repercussions’ thing.
- So y’all might be wondering why the trio (Leorios super busy in med school which is good for me because I cannot write Leorio. I have enough trouble writing the other characters) decided to go to u.a.
- On that note I’d like to once again state that people are probably going to be ooc because I’m not an amazing writer
- Unrelated to the last point but I’m gonna handwave why Kurapikas going to be in their class despite the age difference
- Anyway, it’s because Gon and Killua were looking for something to do, a goal, that shit, and Kurapika isn’t planning on abandoning them now.
- Also, because my au, my rules, by the time this fic is gonna start Gon has realized the Ging is a piece of shit.
- Now, due to the lack of available people to stay with, y’all might be wondering what the trios housing situation is. Well, it’s simple really. They rented a cheap apartment.
- Also I debated this for a while but I eventually decided that Midoriya will have One for All.
- As much as I love a quirkless Midoriya fic, I already have enough going on in this fic to deal with those changes as well.
- Also, those of you who have read my other bnha fics might be wondering if I’m going to put All Might bashing in this one too. The answer is not really, but it certainly won’t be a dad might fic either.
- There will, however, be small amounts of dadzawa, but not enough to tag it.
- That should be it for now!
- Edit: this kinda slowly became all might bashing over the course of...a few chapters. I'm sorry.
- Edit 2: I'm finally remembering to update this with what I figured out should be the downside to Emporer Time.
- It burns through his nene like there's no tomorrow. I mean, he's using 100% of all nen categories, that's got to burn through their nen really fast.
