Summary
As children, we always dream of being heroes. Swooping in with our otherworldly strengths and bravery that surpasses the average woman and man. The moral compass that guides us in the direction of those who need us the most. In our naïve and unblemished perspectives, this is a dream that could certainly become a reality. We can save everyone. We can save those who are trapped under cars or being attacked by the bad guy, save the kittens stuck in the tree, and battle the evil forces of the world.
But what happens when we grow up, look around at the darkness that plagues this earth, and realize you can’t save someone from their own demons. You can’t rescue them from the pain and suffering that has them so tightly in its clutches that they can’t breathe. You can’t save them.
