    People said they were playing God. Him and Eren. And, well, Eren loved that.  He’d always grin like mad behind the newspaper. Behind his sunglasses and his smokescreen. He’d set the paper down. Stub out his cigarette and push his sunglasses up and into his shock of unkempt hair.

    ‘Armin.’ He’d say, looking up at him with haunted oceans for eyes.

    ‘They’re wrong. We’re not playing God, we’re replacing him.’
