Work Text:
“What’s wrong, pretty boy?” Simon asked as he ran his fingers through Wille’s hair. The two were situated on Wille's bed, Simon's back leaning against the wall. One hand held up a book and the other was gently twirling Wille's hair through his fingers. Every few moments he glanced his way down to Wille, and always saw the same contemplating look on his face.
“Nothing,” Wille shook his head tilting his chin upwards and looking at Simon, nothing resting in his hands to keep him entertained. He rubbed small circles onto his chest as he stared off into the space of his dorm room ceiling.
Simon closed his book and rested his other hand on Wille's chest, interlacing the hand that was rubbing small circles into the skin.
Wille adjusted his head, burrowing further into Simon's lap. He looked up at Simon with the same wide hopeful eyes that made Simon fall in love with him. But this time, his eyes were glossed over. He watched as a tear fell from his eye, falling down the side of his face. Simon frowned, reaching down and carefully wiping the tear away from his face.
“I’m just thinking,” Wille said, crossing his arms over his chest.
“What about? Maybe I can help,” Simon said, smoothing over Wille's cheek with his thumb. Wille shook his head lightly as Simon sighed softly, “I can try.”
Wille looked up at him, opening his mouth and then closing it. “I don’t know what I am, or like- who I am. It’s just so- so easy for everyone else.” he rose his hands to the inner corners of his eyes as he sighed slightly, “Everyone always told me who I am. And then you came along and now I’m just- I’m questioning almost everything. I know I love you like so fucking much, but that’s like all I can figure out right now.” Wille finished as he dropped his hands onto his chest.
Simon nodded, continuing to run his right hand through Wille's hair, “I love you too, and that’s ok Mi Amor. Labels are hard, and you don’t need one if you don’t want one. Do you want to?”
“I’m not sure. I’ve already done like… intense google searches.” the prince laughed, covering the top and bottom of Simon's hand in his. “I think I wanna use He/They pronouns. And I- I don’t wanna label what I am. I just wanna be Wilhelm.” He said inhaling sharply as his eyes glanced up and down Simon's face in search of any emotion.
Simon was quiet, processing the information. “Can I still call you pretty boy?” He asked them as Wille nodded. Simon hummed happily, leaning down and kissing Wille gently as one of the prince’s hands snaked up to cradle the back of Simon's neck, leaning himself into the kiss. Simon pulled away slowly, staying only centimeters apart from Wille. “I’m proud of you for telling me, baby.” He murmured as their thin lips let out a rush of warm air, spreading into a small grin.
“Thank you for being yourself,” He said with a twinkle in their eyes. They leaned in, kissing Simon almost tentatively.
The two leaned away, pushing their foreheads and noses together. Simon stared at Wille's face, their smile wide enough to light up a million stars. They seemed to have a certain smile, that they only ever found usage for around Simon. His two front teeth would pop out and his lips would curl a bit and sometimes, they bit down gently on the inside of their bottom lip adding a new level to what the two were doing.
“You’re beautiful,” Simon whispered as Wille shook their head, reaching up and curling a small piece of the hair on the back of Simon's head around his finger.
“You’re radiant,” They countered with a mischievous glint in their eyes.
Simon smiled, tilting his head a bit and leaning down to peck Wille's lips, “You’re graceful,”
“You’re divine,” Wille said smiling up at him
“You’re lovely,” Simon tried as they giggled a bit.
“You’re ethereal,” He said sitting up a bit in Simon’s lap, their arms still wrapped around Simon’s neck. He drew small hearts along the top of simons spine with an adoring smile that drove Simon crazy.
“You’re at an unfair advantage with that rich kid education,” Simon pouted as they giggled, pulling Simon in for their lips to meet again softly.
“I love you,”
“I love you too. No matter what.”
