Chapter Text
"GET BACK HERE! " A voice shouted, footsteps pounding against the earthy ground. The cackles of two young children echoed along with the shouts, taunts and careless demands of challenges.
Tommy;scarily tall, lanky, six year old. He had a fluffy head of nearly golden hair, sapphire like gem blue eyes, bandaids and white plasters littered the six year olds exposed knees, hands, and face. He wore a lovely soft blue sweater that looked a tad too large to fit him; but fit nonetheless. blue almost black shorts that barely scraped the top of his knees. few accessories littered the child, a sparkly gold necklace, colorful (obviously stolen) woven bracelets and anklets. He was too young for ear decor, but figured out a way to ' cheat the system ' (finding his caretakers clip-on gold accented earrings and keeping them) but the most important item Little Tommy cherished was the Green cloth tucked into the pocket barely poking out from under his sweater. Tubbo having a matching red scarf.
And his partner in crime, a small, baby faced seven year old, named Toby, or more commonly known as Tubbo. Tubbo had Brunette, hair nearly as soft as honey when shined in the sun; nearly looking a shade of blonde in the sun. His own eyes, not as bright a blue as Tommy's but for sure attention grabbing. Whilst Tommy rocked a long sweater, shorts and stolen little accessories; Tubbo adorn a semi thick block colored turtleneck sweater, a bark brown torso with a black and yellow striped puffy long sleeves. Said sleeves cover the seven year olds small bandaged covered hands, the turtleneck was contrasted with a thin yet comfortable pair of light blue overall shorts. A mini bee etched into the fabric of the overalls front pocket. The matching red scarf Tubbo wore proudly around his neck, unlike Tommy who was constantly getting into trouble and eventually had to start hiding the scarf.
The two little boys were causing trouble, as they usually would. Tommy had the idea of borrowing a couple freshly baked pastries from the village bakery, of course tubbo was the other who distracted the adults, as if tommy were to step foot into the building he'd be kicked out immediately because of the rumors the small blonde stole quite frequently. Of course they ended up getting caught, and ended up running off to the edge of the village to escape the angry adult all while Tommy tightly held the hat that held the sweet cookies he had managed to take before sadly getting caught. He never said how he had gained the maroon colored beanie, but then again Tubbo never bothered to ask.
"NICE TRY OLD MAN!" Cackled Tommy, His usually loud voice sparking with Mischief and trouble ready to be brewed. They could hear the older man groan in annoyance as he huffed and puffed, not being able to keep up with the two kids. The two of them continued to run, sharply turning a corner and disappearing behind the village houses; they were known to be the orphans of the village, no one knew where they lived or even if they were really orphans; it was all merely a rumor the two never debunked. It made them interesting to the villagers, so why bother?
Truth be told, they didn’t live in the village. No, the two children lived in a small bunker-like shed a little ways into the supposed haunted forest. It was in the middle of a flowery clearing, being the only sunny patch of grass as far as the eye can see. The two of them never knew who lived there before them, but they clearly disappeared, so using kid logic, finders keepers.
Tommy’s sprint turned into a slight jog before slowly relaxing into a walk, causing Tubbo to slow down as well, the two of them knew no one ever entered the woods, being too scared of what may lurk in the dark and eerie forest.
“I’d say that was a success, dontcha think so tubs?” Tommy chirped lightly, swinging the ‘bag’ in his fist, “I think I managed to grab some of your favorites too!” the blonde beamed, the missing front teeth shining proudly at his large grin.
Cookies were rare for the two of them, any type of food was rare so Tubbo beamed at his words as well, pleased at the thought of yummy cookies and bread. “Really? Great! Didja get the bread as well? Or did you focus on just the cookies, again?” He hummed, a soft dry giggle leaving him at Tommy's pause, swiftly opening the hat to check before his eyes slowly looked back up at tubbo, a sheepish frown planted on his face. “Hehe… oosp..?” was all Tubbo got from the blonde.
Of course, Tubbo thought, shaking his head as Tommy shuffled into the shed-like home to put away the food. I swear we might as well eat only cookies at this rate. Tommy quickly came out, his eyes bright and trained on something, in his hands were one of the few gold coins. The blonde froze for a couple seconds before glancing at Tubbo, then down at the coin in his hands. Tubbo knew exactly what he was doing, no matter how many times He told him not to, he finds Tommy's done it anyways. So continuing his steps to the side of the shed, waving his hand at Tommy nodding whilst sighing. “Go give the coin to the bird, whatever,” as much Tubbo wants to sound annoyed, he can’t find it in himself to be upset when Tommy lights up, shining nearly as bright as the sun grinning like it was the best news he’s heard in a while before running off to.. Somewhere.
“TRY NOT TO SPOOK IT, AND DON'T TOUCH THE CROW, TOMMY!” Tubbo called, gaining a quick “Okay” from the person in question, who was already nearly gone.
Tubbo sighs, a smile on his face as he knelt down, the smile slowly etched downwards as he eyes over their makeshift farm; huffing sadly at the slowly dying plants, unsure of what to do about it.
what will today bring me, Tubbo wondered to himself quietly.
