Seeing the news the next day had been the worst. He didn’t feel the stabbing guilt till then. The news anchors spoke of his name with malice, going as far to call it hypocritical. His father had punched a hole through the plaster of their apartment wall. The action had caused him to flinch hard, worried for the day a hero would respond to his and Wilbur’s crimes. The hole was covered with a picture of orchids and hydrangeas by the time Tommy had returned home. Tommy had just sat on his couch as the TV droned on about the attack. Each news station had the same story, every day, every hour.
“Soot’s accomplice, Reverent, has now been marked as a high level, class A threat. The People’s Protection Agency has also increased his bounty as well as issuing a dead or alive order. The PPA has also issued a curfew for all non essential workers between the hours of 9 PM and 5 AM. If you have any information about Soot and Reverent, please contact your local PPA or call the toll free number…”
Wilbur had texted him only an hour later, congratulating him again on making it to the big leagues. Tommy responded with a smiley face.

Before he could even get into the sight of the cockpit, his body froze. He was still reaching out, his mouth open mid yell, but his entire body was rigid. It was like he hit a stone wall, but it was molasses. He couldn’t move, barely even breathing. His eyes were stuck, zeroed in on the cockpit. He could practically see Dream. The man had already flicked the switches and was about to pull back on the wheel. And, Tommy was so close. He was right there. All Dream had to do was look to his right and he would see Tommy.
“Hello there, pup.”

Phil’s eyes widened as he stared at the human over the cone of his ice cream, “Where is this coming from, I mean? It’s marriage a huge commitment to humans? Love and some shit?”
“I’ve been teaching you better than that, Phil,” Techno hummed as he bit into his own waffle cone. “Love isn’t all romance and sex. You know I despise both of those.”

I’m unsure if you relate to the plot, but goddamn do I do. I had a rocky relationship with my stepmom until I opened up about my own with her. The amount of times I ended up crying on her chest or needing her support when she was the strictest stepmom in the world. Anyways, I need you to know I cried to this fic. Take Diluc and Kaeya. There’s cookies, sweet with a hint of an underlying sour. Lemon. Except, the cookies are shaped like little red hourglasses, one side filled and the other empty—though there was black frosting to fill the inside of the top to give the image of emptiness. The lemon is almost completely masked by the overwhelming bitter sweetness. Butter combined with what tasted like pure sugar; its poison. It’s whump. Its delicious.
