When fairytale-like stories were woven for things happening on real soil, the desired endings were rarely met. Eret was proof of that; weary, haggard, molded by war-death-fear. They seldom lingered in one place, always on the move. Always leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
The night they stumbled upon a hamlet in a small country, they forgot why they always moved on. They settled down, prepared to join L'Manberg's fight for freedom.
It took them very little time to remember why they did not stay in the towns they passed by. The white eyes of death did not bring peace with them.

Summary
Tommy knows what it’s like to not belong - the world has made sure of that. Still, nothing could have prepared him for the day he woke up in a strange city, where all the people he knew had forgotten his name. Tommy is faced with a choice: adapt, or drown.
What makes things harder is his family - half of whom are supposed to hate him, the other half, dead. Except they’re not anymore, and they seem to actually care about him. Naturally, Tommy doesn’t know what to do with himself.
The only thing he knows for certain is that there's something seriously wrong with this city (and he doesn’t mean the fact that it vaguely resembles his home). The system is completely rigged, and while it might be tempting, Tommy can’t just stand by and watch the civilians suffer.
So, unlike the supposed ‘heroes’, Tommy decides to do something about it. This is his city now, and he decides that things are going to change.
That, or he’ll burn it to the ground.
Or, another superhero AU except this time c! Tommy gets thrust into it without a choice in the matter.

She was the prime target for being chosen for the sacrificial rituals. She had hoped that worming her way into the Temple, the source of all religious practices in the town, would save her from the cruel fate. Unfortunately, she could not run from her fate for long.

"Fine! Your opinion is worthless! My friends will bail me out, and then I won't have to lay eyes on you ever again," Niki spat defiantly, but the woman merely shrugged off her retort. "Your 'anarchist' buddies, you mean? Doubt they'd risk it all for one person," she remarked casually.
"Ha! You underestimate them. They've got my back. Trust me, one of them could take down an entire army alone. They care about me, unlike you," Niki muttered, her voice trailing off as if she needed to reassure herself of their loyalty.
As the church bell chimed, signaling the dawn of a new day, a grim realization dawned on Niki: her time might be running out.
"If you're banking on your friends for salvation, you'd better pray they hurry," the woman warned her words carrying a weight of impending doom.
Or: Niki is part of the Syndicate and gets captured and set to be executed. But after escaping her execution, she is found and taken care of by a strange witch named Eret who tries to stop her from seeking revenge on her so-called friends who never came to help her.
