Summary
Tommy had not expected to be abandoned at a young age, of course none of the other orphans in the orphanage expected that either. But he did his best to survive and hope to see adulthood. With Tubbo and Ranboo by his side, he was fairly confident about his chances. Then, of course that all came crashing down around him when Tommy was adopted by a vampire hunter.
Now as a vampire hunter in training, he didn’t expect much. Tommy does have one question though;
Why the hell is it so complicated to join a vampire coven?Or
Tommy's an orphan and gets snatched by Eret to become a hunter. And then on a walk Tommy almost dies.

He is reaching for the stars.

Tubbo is one of many, and he knows, the first moment he enters the lecture hall, he meets the eyes of another boy, blond hair and blue eyes. And he knows. He knows deep in his bones, under his teeth, he tastes it like defeat. He isn't the only one.
There is something terrifying about meeting someone like him. Someone who mirrors his grasping for knowledge. There is something new but familiar about the look in the other boy's eyes. And there is a glint in them that tells him that the boy knows it too.
He convinces himself they're alike, they must be. Brilliance and all. Except, why did it feel like Tubbo was lying to himself? Why did it feel like they couldn't be more different? Complete opposites.

Truthfully, Orpheus knew this was stupid, even for him.
But he really wanted some of those muffins that Siren had brought to their last meeting, and he couldn’t be bothered to change for one measly child.
I mean, the kid in front of him couldn’t have been more than seventeen.
So he watched, waiting for a reaction that never came, and Tommy tilted his head with furrowed brows.
“Are you going to order, or just stare at me until we close?”

Tommy is complacent in his life. He's got a job with people he trusts, a sort-of-brother, and enough money to manage on his own when they age out of the system. He's doing perfectly fine for himself, thank you very much, and he doesn't need the sort of family that this Phil guy keeps trying to offer him.
Or, Tommy heals a villain and has to deal with the consequences of his actions.

Three trouble making orphans on the run from the authorities suddenly find themselves no longer on the run, but in the care of three separate hero families, in a last ditch attempt to stop them being shipped to juvie. This would be out of this world news for anyone who didn't have a double life as a vigilante, a mountain of trust issues and childhood trauma, had been hiding hybrid traits since they could write and were being separated from their psuedo brothers for the first time since they met.
Oh, so that's why they weren't jumping for joy.

Of all the things Tommy was known for—his stubbornness, his self-confidence, his loud personality—he had to say that his claim of being “the biggest man in all of L’Manburg” was the most important to him. He swore by it at least once each day, and at some point his claim on the title became a matter of pride.
So, when his claim was put to the test, of course he was going to try to prove himself. Even if that meant sneaking into the old, abandoned palace that used to serve as the capital of the country, but had since been reduced to little more than a faint memory of what used to be.

Just a few years ago (the Cricket Crew hadn’t even had a name yet) it was just him and Tubbo. Tommy and Tubbo had known eachother since birth and it just so happened that both of their parents worked at the same banking company. It was when their parents started a union with the workers of the company that both Tommy and Tubbo’s life collectively went to shit.
Both of Tommy and Tubbo’s parents tragically died in an accident involving a fire in the building where their union met. Both Tommy and Tubbo knew that this was the doing of the banking company’s leader, only ever known to the public as Mr. Dream."

But what has the child's attention is not the star, it's what's under the tree. Presents wrapped in shiny crinkled paper, all with respective colors to show who they belong too.
Tubbo's a deep forest green, Ranboo's a sparkly purple Shroud helped pick out, and a soft pink for Clementine. And red, there's a lot of red.
