“If you missed me, you wouldn’t have lied to me,” Tommy snaps, pushing Wilbur backward, hard enough that he nearly falls onto the dock. He deserves it. Wilbur belongs in the ocean, far away from him.
“No one lied to you but him, okay?” Wilbur explodes. “Come on, Tommy, you have to believe me! It’s been long enough. Dad won’t stop brooding.”
“He can brood all he wants. I’m not going back.”

Summary
"Hello… Floof," Wilbur says, carefully sounding out the name. Floof does -not- like that.
The dog lunges, yapping angrily. Wilbur cries out, nearly letting Tommy slide down his leg as he sidesteps the ball of white fury.
The baby begins to wail, not liking the conflicting sounds floating in the air. Wilbur desperately shushes him, fixing his hold on his brother. The dog still hasn't stopped its barrage, and in one swift motion, runs to Wilbur and just rips into him.
The only thought occupying Wilbur's mind is -don't let it near Tommy-
That thought is still swirling even as another person stumbles into the clearing.

"Lovely weather we're having," the predator says mockingly, circling him. There's a scuffle, the fae's feet brushing against the debris of the forest floor.
"You're so little," the monster notes, its voice too close. Tommy hates to think of where it could be.
"Would you like to go home?" It asks, and something compels Tommy to answer. He nods fearfully, anxiety digging its terrible claws into him.
"I can make that happen," the fae purrs. A clawed finger traces his cheek, and Tommy screws his eyes shut under the vines that blind him. He doesn't want to accidentally see the creature touching him through the gaps.
He whimpers.

Itself, Tommy now realises, may not be appropriate.
"Do you have, like, pronouns? Or do you not fuck with that kind of thing?"
Philza trills out a laugh and draws a cock and balls in the dirt.

Tommy has never been angrier than he is now.
He’d heard his family talking a couple days ago about how they wanted ‘it’ out, which alone had hurt his feelings. Just before they all went to bed, he’d caught his parents saying silly words he didn’t understand, like exorcist and priest. Today, they’d packed an overnight bag and skipped town. He had tried to ask where they were going, if he could go too, but his mother had just screamed and cowered into her husband, who had shouted at him. They’d left without even saying goodbye.
Needless to say, he’s a little pissed.
The anger doesn't get any lesser as the front door swings open to three men he's never met before.

The fox had not eaten in many months, for he had convinced himself he did not need to eat often. He'd decided that it was just the way his kind were built. He was getting hungry, though, so hungry that his throat burned and his stomach slowly ate away at itself. He hadn’t been this hungry ever before. It almost made him miss the life he ran from. He had to eat, and soon. The pain was becoming unbearable.
As opposed to the fox, the nightingale was just starting his life. He had a good job, a stable group of friends, and decent grades. He lived in the good part of town, albeit alone. Though both of his parents had been lost to time, he had everything he could ever dream of and more. Then, he met the fox.

Aspiring actor/director (and vampire, shhhhh) Wilbur Soot meets Tommy working at a movie theatre showing his film, is disrespected horrendously and decides, "That one's mine." Having zero knowledge of his kind thanks to him being a literal baby and running away from his sires, Wilbur finds healthy-ish ways to deal with wanting to eat his new best friend.
