She was Caroline Forbes. The Golden Wolf. The Wolf of the Sun. Strong, ageless, fearless.
She was the embodiment of her titles, and she wore them well.
The wolf queen rose from her throne, the skirt of her dress swishing back and forth against the cold stone floor as she approached him. She stopped on the top step, still above him but her hazel eyes met his stormy gray ones in a level stare. Her facial expression betrayed nothing.
Then she finally spoke. “He’s the one,” a surprisingly soft yet firm voice spoke. “I choose him.”
She finally chose his fate. Death wouldn’t be greeting him so soon.
