"What?"
Yusaku was not expecting to be challenged to a duel.
He was just taking a walk through the city.
So why is some kid with black hair streaked with red challenging him to a duel?
"You are a duelist right? And this is a duel area. So..."
Yusaku walked in a duel area while visibly carrying his duel disk.
This is not good.
Dueling for fun is not really something Yusaku does. Especially after the Lost Incident. The Duel Club was already bad enough.
Yusaku needs to come up with some excuse.
Like that their duel disk programs aren't compatible or something.
Not that Yusaku couldn't fix that but the kid would never know.
But somehow what comes out of Yusaku's mouth is "I don't feel like dueling today."
"Oh. I see." The child answers. He looks disappointed.
For a moment the kid seems to be thinking before he asks. "Is there anything I can do to change that? Dueling for fun won't cheer you up? That always worked when I feel down."
"No." Yusaku answers.
'Probably not ever, unfortunately.' Yusaku thinks.
That does not seem to deter the kid though. Some time passes and the child picks a notebook from his back pocket, scribbles something on it and hands the page to Yusaku.
There is a name and a phone number written on it.
"Here, call me when you feel like dueling." says the kid Yusaku learned less than a second ago is Yuma Tsukumo.
"Why?" Yusaku asks.
"Because you look like an interesting duelist and I want to get to know you." Yuma answers.
Yusaku raises an eyebrow "Why do you think I will duel again?"
"Because duelists don't quit. They just take breaks."
