Carlos let out a huff as he scrolled through his phone, his eyes scanning the items listed on his screen as he did his best to decipher what app would be the next victim and get deleted.
But he wasn’t left with many more options and his phone was still yelling at him.
“Everything alright over there?” He hadn’t expected to hear Michelle’s voice, and when he popped his head up and let his eyes settle on her she must have noticed it too. “Did you seriously forget about our lunch plans? Again?”
“Sort of…” He had been a really bad friend lately hadn’t he?
But it was all TK’s fault and Michelle had to know that.
In fact, judging by the playful smile on her face, she was very well aware of that fact.
“I’m gonna call TK and tell him to stop being so damn lovable.” She would never do such a thing and they both knew it, but judging by the slight glare on her face, she was probably tired of him being the reason that Carlos kept skipping their lunch dates. “Why are you so frustrated anyway? I’ve been watching you from the door for a good three minutes now and what I’m witnessing is rather disturbing.”
“It’s just this stupid phone.” He dropped the offending item to his desk and sighed. “It keeps saying my storage is too full to do the update, but I can’t do anything on it without the update.”
“So just delete some stuff off of it.” She said it like it was the most natural thing in the world and he rolled his eyes.
Sometimes her directness was annoying.
“I’ve tried that.” And he had, he had tried everything. “It’s all these damn photos that are on here, I can get rid of them but it’s slowing everything down and taking up so much space.
“Photos?” She raised an eyebrow and gave him a look that caused him to blush. “Please tell me that your memory isn’t full because your phone is full of naked pictures of TK Strand.”
“What? No!” He couldn’t believe she would go there, except, maybe he could, this was Michelle after all.
“I was gonna say… it’s not like you don’t go home to him every night…” Rolling his eyes he sank back against his chair and shook his head.
“It’s just random pictures, selfies mostly.” He should have known better than to leave the phone where she could easily grab it, because the next thing he knew it was in her hands and she was unlocking it and undoubtedly scrolling through the hundreds of pictures in his photo app.
“Jesus, do you two take enough pictures together?” It was a lot sometimes, but Carlos knew that they made TK happy, so he wasn’t one to argue. “I mean, y’all are cute and all, but Los, this is insane.”
“Try telling him that.” It’s not like he hadn’t tried. “Everyday, Chelle, everyday. It’s like he’s documenting everything. It was cute at first, but now, my poor phone…”
“Just buy more storage on the Cloud.” She said softly, tossing the phone back onto his desk with a smile. “It’s what I had to do.”
“And if that runs out?” Because surely that would happen eventually.
“Download them to your computer.” Okay, yeah, he could do that he guessed. “Or buy more storage. If you run out while having the biggest plan, then it’s time to consider some kind of intervention.”
“I mean, I don’t wanna delete them…” She shook her head as she chuckled and he raised an eyebrow at her, watching as she pushed herself to stand.
“Print them out for him or something, it’s not like they go away permanently.” She had a point and judging by her expression, she knew it all too well. “Now come on, I’m hungry.”
“Fine.” He moved to stand, grabbing his phone as they went, sighing when it buzzed in his hand.
“If that’s another picture from TK I’m going to take his phone away from him.” Carlos couldn’t help but chuckle as he opened the message, shoving the object in her direction when a selfie of the man in question appeared, Buttercup beside him. “Aww, Buttercup. You definitely have to keep that one.”
“You’re impossible.” He huffed out, watching as she typed out a reply and hit send before shoving the phone back into his hand.
“Yeah, well, you married him.” She said softly, smiling at him as she wrapped an arm around his shoulders. “Took you long enough though.”
“Too bad I didn’t know about his obsession with selfies before that.” Michelle howled in laughter and he couldn’t help but join her.
He may have loved his husband to death, but his selfie obsession was a little much.
Even if Carlos really did enjoy staring at him all the time.
