“Aubrey wanna come over for a sleepover? Kel and Basil are coming over as well. Mari and Hero have college prep classes so they’re gonna come later.” Sunny said over the phone.
“Sure! I guess…” Aubrey responded with enthusiastic uncertainty.
Aubrey’s parents aren’t home at the moment and normally she would need their permission to go sleep over at a friend’s house.
"But everybody’s gonna be there!" Aubrey thought to herself. "I’ve never missed out on a sleepover with my friends and I’ll make sure to keep it that way."
“Alright, see you at 4.” Sunny replied as he cut the line.
Aubrey takes a glance at her Sweetheart clock and notices it’s still 3:28.
"Damn I still got half an hour to kill. Well I guess I could just start packing or pack what little stuff I have."
Aubrey takes out her pink school backpack and dumps all of its contents on the bed, she’ll sort it out later. She takes out a pair of pink, bunny covered pajamas out of her closet and tosses it into the bag. She snatches Mr. Plantegg off of her bed and stuffs it into the bag.
Aubrey descends down the ladder and enters the bathroom grabbing her toothbrush and toothpaste, placing it in the bag. Looking over at the clock placed above the door it looks like only six minutes has passed.
"Darn, I still have so much time to waste. That or I had little to pack." She slumped internally, stumped on what to do. "Hmm, It’s quite hot today. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to bring a water bottle."
Aubrey exits the bathroom and goes straight to the kitchen. Opening the fridge, she sees four cans of beer, some leftovers from yesterday, plastic water bottles and a huge unopened glass bottle of water, cooling.
"Huh!? When did they make such big water bottles? It’s also in glass, how fancy! I guess the bigger the better, right?" She thought enamoured by the bottle.
Aubrey reaches over and grabs the bottle, carefully weaving it out of the fridge and barely manages to fit it inside the bag.
Glancing over at the clock once more reveals it is now 3:38.
"Well I guess arriving a bit early wouldn’t hurt!" Her mind screamed, visibly upset at how slow time moves for today. "Maybe I can spend some time alone with Sunny…"
"Nonono! Stop it brain now is not the time to be fawning over Sunny!" Aubrey flustered.
Aubrey exits her house skipping her way towards Sunny and Mari’s home.
By the time she turns left facing Sunny and Mari’s street, she is already beginning to sweat.
"Yowza! I know it was hot today but I never knew it was gonna be THIS hot! Luckily Sunny’s house has good air conditioning." Aubrey thought as her pace quickened.
As Aubrey passes by Kel and Hero’s house she notices Hector isn’t in his doghouse. He’s probably inside, she couldn’t blame him considering this blistering heat is already turning her into melted ice cream.
She finally arrives at Sunny’s door and gives it three good knocks before stepping back. Sunny answers the door almost immediately.
“Hiya, Sunny!” Aubrey gleefully said.
“Hello.” Sunny simply responded.
“Heya Aubrey!” “Hi Aubrey.” answered two voices from within the house.
“Kel? Basil? What are you two doing here early?” Aubrey questioned as she strolled into the living room.
Kel and Basil were facing each other on the couch in a game of pet rocks. Peering over Basil’s shoulder he had two hearts while Kel had three.
“Well… I decided to come here early since there’s nothing else to do at home.” Kel said as he chose rock.
“I finished taking care of my plants for today so I came early.” Basil responded as he also chose rock.
“Oh, Okay.” Aubrey said with a tinge of disappointment as both fighters came to a draw. Aubrey notices Sunny is looking at her with a tiny bit of concern on his face but decides not to press forward.
“But maaaaan, is it hot today or what? Sunny do you know where the water is?” Kel turned to Sunny, sounding exhausted.
“Well we would normally boil water and let it cool, but I would usually let Mari do it.” Sunny responded.
“What about your parents?” Aubrey replied.
“They’re both working right now.” Sunny said.
“Bummer.” Kel replied as Basil managed to land a hit on Kel’s pluto.
“Oh! I know, I brought a huge bottle of water from home.” Aubrey said with a smile while she unzipped her backpack, revealing the bottle housing the clear, odorless drink.
“Sweet! Thanks Aubrey, you’re a lifesaver!” Kel enthusiastically said as he rushed Aubrey, snatching the drink from her.
“Hey! Hold on, that’s the only bottle I brought and I don’t want your spit on it!” Aubrey retaliated, snatching the bottle back from Kel.
“I can go get cups.” Sunny suggests.
“Can I also get a cup? I'm also kinda thirsty.” Basil asked.
“Kay.” Sunny simply said as he disappeared into the kitchen.
Aubrey then sat in between Kel and Basil, placing her bag on the floor and watching Basil’s screen as they ended up tying over and over.
Sunny then comes out with four big drinking glasses, placing them on the table while Aubrey breaks the seal on the lid of the bottle. She pours the clear odorless liquid until each glass is around 4/5ths full and puts the cap on the bottle and places it on the table.
Kel wastes no time chugging down the glass like his life depends on it.
“Jeez, slow down Kel or you’re gonna choke.” Aubrey states as she reaches for her glass.
Aubrey drinks half of her glass in one go, Basil drinks a fourth while Sunny also drinks half his glass.
“ Haah , that hits the spot!” Kel exclaimed as he went back to his match against Basil.
“This water tastes a little different from the water I drink from home....” Basil grew suspicious.
“Water is water Basil! I dunno if water from every tap tastes different but it’s still water.” Kel said as he took another heart away from Basil’s plant.
"Huh? I’m starting to feel a bit fuzzy..."

“hEHeHEEE, sUUUUnY hAASS CaT EEArs AND a tAIL!” Aubrey shouted in a wobbly tone, pointing at Sunny who was flustered at her remark.
“yOU lOOk LIIIkE A bUnNy. A cUtE liTTlE BnUUy.” Sunny retaliated, flustering Aubrey as well.
“EEEEEEEEEWWW, GET A ROOOOOM!” The liquid only managed to make Kel’s voice even louder.
“wha *hic* do *hic i loo *hic* k li *hic* ke?” Basil mumbled struggling to keep his eyes open.
“sUUnFloWErRr.”
“pOtAtOo.”
“OREGANOOOOOOOO!”
Tears began to fall down Basil’s cheeks.
“but *hic* i thou *hic* ght i was *hic* basil. *hic*”
Sunny got up and comforted the crying potato, Basil hugged Sunny as tight as he could crying into his shoulder.
“HEyyYYYy! nOOO fAAAIRR!” Aubrey shouted as she went up and cuddled with Sunny.
“SuNNNNNyyY’s mIiIInEE! nOT yOuRRs mR. sUnfLoOowER.” Increasing her grip on Sunny. As Sunny’s face notably went up a few more shades of red.
“GROUP HUG!” Kel dashed on to the group, wrapping his arms around the entire group and squeezed with all his strength.
Basil’s weeping came to a halt as the group dispersed from the hug. Basil fell limp on the couch with his eyes closed.
“BASILLLL, IT’S STILL THE AFTERNOON HOW ARE YOU ASLEEP ALREADY!?!?!?!” Kel screamed at the unconscious flower boy but with absolutely no reaction from him.
“kEEllL, yOU KnOOCkeD hIM OUUT! yOuRR HUg wAAs tOO TIghT!” Aubrey punched Kel’s shoulder.
“WELL I WANTED TO JOI-” Kel’s speech was suddenly cut off when he started leaning backwards and landed on the carpet below, followed by snoring.
“wEElLL GuEEsS wHO dECiDeD to SlEePP EArrlY aS wELl?” Aubrey said to the unconscious boy.
“hEHe iT’S jUsT yOU aND mE SuUNnY bUnNy.” Aubrey said to the flustered Sunny.
“yOu’RE tOO CuTE, aUBi” Sunny said as Aubrey’s cheeks began to glow pink.
Sunny and Aubrey stare at each other's eyes for a few minutes until Aubrey decides to ask Sunny something.
“S-sUUnNNYY.”
“yES?”
“D-dO yOU l-LOvE mE?” Sunny’s eyes went wide, surprised by Aubrey’s confession.
“i dO, AUbReY. i’Ve L-lOvED yOU eVEr sIiNce i mET yOU.” Sunny responded.
Aubrey’s face then lit up like a pink firework with the brightest smile she has ever worn. She then tackled Sunny in a bear hug and began rubbing her cheek on his.
“i lOvE yOu tOO sUnNNnYy!” Aubrey said as Sunny returned the hug, hugging tighter than he has ever since he met Aubrey.
Sunny and Aubrey kept cuddling with each other tighter and tighter until they both fell unconscious.
…
“Phew, college prep courses take much longer than expected.” The black haired girl said as she entered the yard.
“Yeah, but it helps us succeed in college in the future.” Said the messy brown haired boy.
"Oh Hero, I already know that! I just want to spend more time with my friends, especially today since we're having a sleepover with everybody." Mari said as she unlocked the door.
As the door swung open she immediately notices an unconscious Kel snoring loudly on the floor. She walks up to the couch and sees the cutest scene she has ever seen in her entire life.
Aubrey was sitting on her little brother's lap hugging him with her head resting on his shoulder. While her brother hugs her back.
"Hero! Hero! You've gotta see thi-"
She notices four glass cups, an empty one, two half filled and one that's still quite full. She then notices the bottle with the clear odorless liquid being half empty.
"Did they just drink from that bottle..?" Mari's voice starting to fill with anger
"Hm? What's up Mari?" Hero's voice came from behind her.
"The kids, they drank alcohol…" Mari's voice now coated with disappointment.
"Wait, what!?" Hero then rushed in and grabbed the bottle.
"Oh my god. This bottle consists of 50% alcohol and they drank from big water cups." Hero said, barely able to mask his disappointment.
"Well. I guess once they wake up they can explain themselves." Mari's disappointed tone then grew to a smug one.
"In the meantime, let's capture this once in a lifetime moment! Hero clear the table!" Mari said, grabbing Basil's camera.
Hero sighs before grabbing the glass and the bottle and disappearing into the kitchen.
Mari readies the camera and points it at Sunny and Aubrey.
