   Summary

   Afghanistan changes more in Tony's life than he ever could have fathomed; namely that when the Mark I's crash killed him, he would be brought back as part of an elite group of Angels known as The Protectors. With seasoned guardian angel Phil Coulson as his mentor and a threat looming on the horizon, Tony really doesn't have time to fall in love; he has centuries of knowledge to learn first! The defrosting of Captain America throws a wrench in all of his best-laid plans, which is at first extraordinarily frustrating for the apprenticing angel. Along the way, he learns that sometimes it's the unexpected that gives you not only the best insight but something worth fighting for.
