The Golden Guard Spoils The Fun

Summary:

Hunter is way too protective of his adoptive sister, Luz is absolutely done with his attitude and Amity?
Amity just wants a chance to give good use to her fangs!.

Notes:

I'm celebrating my birthday by writing another one shot!
Also, I'm laughing so much at the fact that AO3 accepted "Blonde Cheerleader (The Owl House: A Lying Witch and a Warden)" as a character lol.
Anyway, enjoy the reading!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Luz picked up her Grom outfit and inspected it for several seconds, thinking if that really was the perfect outfit for this occasion.

Then immediately shouted and discarded it, almost ripping it apart in the process.

“Damn, you got problems, sister” a voice said from behind.

She faced the door with as much indignation as she could and saw the smirking face of the latest addition to the Owl House family: Hunter.

“Leave me alone” the gir said, checking her face in the mirror and thinking about another possible outfit.

“Despite what it looks like, I’m here to help you”

“Why?”

“Because I care about you a lot, hermanita”

“Be honest” the girl said, her hand turning into a fist.

“Ugh, fine. Mom told me I should help you before you lose your mind or faint on the floor or worse”

Of course Eda would say something like that.

“There’s nothing you can do to help me, okay?” the girl said, deflated “This is just a problem with no solution”

“It’s just a date with Amity Blight” Hunter stated “You had dozen of those already”

“It’s the first date without any worries…”

The Golden Guard still didn’t get what the whole deal was, so Luz explained that, after defeating the Emperor almost two weeks ago, and managing to mend up her relationship with Camila and her views on the demon realm, this was the first date she was going to dedicate entirely to Amity.

“No other threats on the horizon, or upcoming crisis, or secrets to hide” the human said “Just me and Amity”

“And you think, what?” the boy replied “That it could go wrong?”

“It has to be perfect, Hunter”

He knew this stupid, sensitive, amazing girl for almost a year now, but this was the first time Hunter felt the need to talk to her seriously, no jokes or pranks of any kind involved.

“Look” he said, kneeling in front of his adoptive sister “Amity is crazy for you, just as you are for her, you could take her to a nuclear plant in the human realm and she’ll still think that is a romantic gesture”

Luz chuckled, at least that was something, but Hunter felt the point needed to be even clearer.

“You said this was about just you and Amity, right?”

Luz barely nodded.

“Then forget about everything else, focus only on her and have a great time”

“But I have so many plans for tonight…”

Hunter snorted at that and Luz questioned:

“What’s so funny about it?”

“Your plans are always the same, Luz. Your basic life philosophy is make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails, throw away the plan”

Luz pouted and Hunter insisted:

“Don’t give me that look sis, you know I’m right”

“Okay… No plans, just an improvised date, but can at least try to look presentable in front of her? I’ve got nothing to wear”

“That’s simple; just use your everyday outfit”

“Hunter, that’s a terrible idea”

“Trust me” he replied, patting the girl’s back a bit too hard and leaving the room.

Luz was checking herself in the mirror, not entirely convinced with this plan (no plan, she reminded herself)

Suddenly, a large white cape fell upon her shoulders and she turned around.

“Don’t move yet” Hunter said “This thing is hard to adjust properly, I would know, since I used it for almost three years”

“Eugh”

“It’s clean, you silly, now, let me fix this thing and… there we go, you’re all set”

“This is… acceptable” Luz admitted.

“You can be a little more expressive, sis”

Luz smiled widely at her brother and hugged him tightly. Hunter wasn’t used to those displays of affection, but sensing that the human was being sincere; he returned the hug and closed his eyes with a smile.

“I told you to trust me” He whispered.

They both descended the stairs and Luz giggled when she heard a knock on the door. Seconds later, she and Amity were walking away from the Owl House, hand in hand.

“You look nice” the young Blight commented “Strange, but nice”

“Yeah” the other girl said, twirling around and winking at Amity “I had some surprisingly good fashion advice”

Amity detached a piece of paper from the cape and showed it to her:

‘Hex Me!’

“I’m going to kill him one of these days…” the human added.

“Oh, by the way!” Hunter said, appearing suddenly between the two girls and pointing a finger at Amity “You know the rules, don’t attempt any familiarities with my little sister”

The witch blushed profusely at that and Luz, offended, tried to slap the boy on the cheek, but as soon as she moved her hand, he was already gone, his laughter echoing in the woods.

The next five minutes consisted solely of Luz’s apologizing for her brother’s behavior and Amity’s brain panicking way too much to function properly.

Six Months Later…

The moonlight shining brightly over her head, the wind softly caressing her head, the Grom tree standing tall and proud over her and her amazing girlfriend resting between her legs, eyes closed and with the biggest smile adorning her face.

Luz Noceda was sure tonight couldn’t get better.

“Luz…” Amity said suddenly, sitting on the grass and staring at her with a shy smile “Can I ask something from you?”

The human girl barely had time to nod before her girlfriend sputtered:

“Can I kiss you?”

Maybe tonight could get better after all.

“You know you don’t have to ask that every time”

“I like to do it” Amity said, laughing at little “It makes me feel good, knowing that you want to kiss me as much as I do, maybe it’s stupid, but hearing you say yes makes me very happy”

“Amity…” the other girl replied, knocking her girlfriend to the grass and cupping her cheeks “You always say the sweetest things, you earned this kiss”

Just when their lips were about to meet, a flash of light blinded them both and a golden barrier appeared between them, separating each other. Luz looked up, annoyed at the intrusive magical wall.

“Leave us alone!” she shouted.

Sitting on one of the tallest branches of the tree, the teenager formerly known as the Golden Guard waved mischievously at her.

“No can do, sister

“And stop calling me that!”

Hunter jumped into the skies, Rascal, his faithful palisman companion turned into a staff and as soon as the boy grabbed it, he reappeared at the human’s side.

“You know Camila’s orders, no funny business tonight”

“Oh, so you can call me sister, but Camila is still Camila?” Luz complained.

“Correct, you know very well Eda is my mom, not that human”

Luz actually hissed at that and Hunter merely stuck out his tongue for all response.

“As much as I enjoy seeing you two bickering about your family dynamics” Amity said, still lying on the ground “I’d like to go back to my quality time with my very beautiful girlfriend”

“Me too” Luz said, sitting down and taking Amity’s hand.

At that, Hunter snapped her fingers and a new barrier divided the two girls.

“Again, Camila’s orders were very specific”

“It’s just a kiss, Hunter”

“Oh I know the two of you and your kisses” he replied with a face of disgust “You joke around, kiss here and there and end up with scratches and bite marks all over your backs and necks and Camila ends up blaming me for not doing my job properly”

Amity went actually white at that comment.

“So, for the safety and integrity of my little sister, I’ll create as many magical barriers as necessary” Hunter added.

“I hate you” Luz said.

“No you don’t” the teenager replied, pinching the human’s cheeks “Now behave yourselves, I’ll be watching”

He disappeared in a flash of golden light and Luz huffed at his insufferable attitude. Amity started to rub circles on her back, something that she knew always had a relaxing effect on her and doing her best to ignore the whistles from above, which were Hunter hammering the message of not trying anything with his little sister.

“Don’t worry” she said after a few minutes “I’ll introduce him to Emira and Edric one of these days and he’ll be scratching his bi confused head for long enough to give us some peace and quiet”

“I’m not interested in those two!” Hunter replied from above “Blights are disgusting and horrendous!”

“How dare you insult my family name?” Amity shouted.

“Also, you can insult her family as much as you want; two of them are annoying bastards…”

“Luz!” Amity said, clearly offended.

“And the other two are even bigger bastards who deserve to rot in jail like they are right now”

Ok, she had to give her that one. Amity accepted.

“But don’t you dare insult my girlfriend in my presence, you edgy emo wannabe”

“Oh wow” Hunter replied with a smirk “I’m sorry I offended your… What was the phrase you always said about her? Cotton candy haired goddess, despite cotton candy comes in pink and not lilac, you Luzer?”

“Bitch I won’t hesit-”

Hunter snapped his fingers once more and a golden lasso appeared around Luz’s mouth, preventing her from speaking any further.

“Remember Camila also said you should watch your language, segnorrita!

“You’re butchering my family’s legacy with that pronunciation!” Luz said, ripping the lasso apart.

“That’s enough sweetie” Amity said, guiding her girlfriend towards the ground and combing her hair, it might not be as good as kissing her, but it was the next best thing, something that was proven by the way Luz melted into her touch and purred softly, cuddling against her chest as quickly as she could.

“Do you feel better?” the young witch asked from above.

“Much better” Luz whispered, lost in her girlfriend’s eyes.

It would be so easy for Amity to just get down a few centimeters and place a kiss on those soft, inviting lips…

“Danger zone!” Hunter screamed.

“Shut up!”

“Danger zone!” he repeated as soon as he saw the two girls were still looking at each other very intensely.

His only response was a ball of abomination goop that smacked him right in the face and the teenager spent the next week complaining about how much his eyes hurt. The last time he protested, Luz replied:

“I’ll be the one hitting you next time. With a fireball. And I won’t be so merciful, trust me”

The human threw a big tantrum when Hunter ran to Eda and told her how she threatened him.

Another six months later…

“Mom!” Luz announced, a big smile on hers and Amity’s faces “We’re going out for our date”

“Have fun, mija!” Camila replied.

As soon as the girls were out of her sight, the woman looked at the Golden Guard, who was sitting on the couch playing with Rascal and barely paid any attention to the previous interaction.

”Hunter, if you could…” the woman said, moving her head in the door’s direction.

“Prevent them from overstepping their boundaries?”

She gave him a little nod.

“Right away, madam” Hunter said, getting up and giving her a salute.

“Drop the formalities, cariño

“Right away, mamá” he mumbled.

He went out of the house knowing too well that he was going to deny everything if Camila ever said he called her that. He was still thinking about his slip out when he saw his targets walking down the street, hand in hand. Rascal flew at his side and he surrounded himself in a golden mist, floating upwards to get a better view of the situation.

Their first stop was the coffee shop, Hunter didn’t understand humans’ obsession with that strange black brew, he tried it once and spit it out just one second later.

Focusing back on his mission, he saw Amity giggling in a voice drier than normal, she then coughed up a little and Luz put a hand on her back, rubbing it slowly.

Hunter frowned at that, ready to intervene, but Amity simply thanked the human for her help and gave her a little kiss on her forehead, nothing wrong with that.

Then they went out the shop and the Golden Guard saw Luz acting extremely clingy towards her girlfriend, even more than normal, while the other girl wrapped an arm around her waist.

“Time to act” he said to himself, but again, he overreacted, as Amity and Luz simply walked to a nearby cinema, chatting excitedly all the way.

Damn you, Camila Noceda and your talent to make me promise things I really don’t want to do he thought, buying a ticket for himself.

What followed was two hours of the most extremely predictable, cringey, cliché anime shit he contemplated in his whole life as he wondered how the two girls just a few rows ahead of him could enjoy this, he knew very well Amity didn’t like this movies and Luz wasn’t a fan of this specific series.

The only logical conclusion was to think they were using this time to smooch the hell out of each other, but again, his prediction was completely wrong and they simply just stared at the screen for two and a half hours, with the only contact between them being their fingers interlocked.

Dizzy and stunned by all the sounds and lights, Hunter exited the building and followed the girl to a nearby park hand in hand, watching them sitting on the swing sets, their eyes fixed on each other at all times.

Amity couldn’t contain herself for too long, as she sat up and went to sit directly on her girlfriend’s lap, Luz giggled and said something along the lines of ‘you can’t live without me, huh?’

She got up too, closing her eyes and about to kiss Amity right on the lips…

Well, that was definitely out of line.

Hunter raised his staff and summoned a golden curtain, effectively separating both girls, but to his surprise, Luz opened her mouth and in a matter of seconds, his spell was dissipated and the girl took the chance to kiss her girlfriend, far too passionately, the little sh-

Maybe he was losing the hand of this? The Golden Guard focused all the energy of his palisman and a big yellow hand emerged from the ground, pushing Amity away. That should be enough…

But again, Luz just opened her mouth and this time, it seemed like she absorbed the spell, leaving the Golden Guard stunned, she then ran towards her girlfriend’s arms, kissing her again.

“Luz Noceda!” Hunter shouted, appearing right at her side, sick of whatever game she was playing.

Amity waved a hand dismissively at him and kept kissing the other girl, laughing uncontrollably when her girlfriend decided to attack her neck.

Camila was going to kill him if he didn’t stop this, Hunter was sure of that.

“Enough! You know you can’t do this!”

Even more kissing, those two were testing his patience.

“Stop it!” he screamed, and his voice came out with an embarrassing squeak.

“And who are you to say we should stop?” Amity questioned.

Hunter opened his mouth to respond when he realized that girl didn’t sound like Amity at all.

“Is there a problem, big bro?” Luz asked, winking at him.

“You are not…” the boy said, pointing at his sister.

She laughed in that stupid and teasing way of hers, white spots appearing all over her face.

“This dummy is my brother” ‘Luz’ introduced him to her date.

“Oh, Hunter, right?” a voice, who clearly didn’t belong to Amity Blight, said.

“Yes…” the teenager muttered, her brain barely understanding what was happening.

“Nice to meet you” the imposter continued “I’m Clara”

She then proceeded to take out a fake lilac wig, revealing her blonde hair to the astounded boy.

“Wait, if you’re Clara…” the Golden Guard said, his head turning in Luz’s direction.

“I’m not Luz! You got it! Congratulations!” Vee said, her long, hissing tongue coming out of her mouth.

Hunter finally processed the sudden revelations and immediately exploded.

“You tricksters!” he shouted “I’ve been following you two for hours  thinking you were…”

“A human and a witch?” Vee questioned, her basilisk’s ears appearing suddenly and flopping in a mocking gesture.

“Yes, duh!”

“You were following us? What a creep!” Clara said, laughing “Also, you got the human part right” she added, pointing at herself.

“But not the other species, big brother” Vee snickered, revealing her tail and lightly smacking the boy to the ground.

“Don’t you think that was a little too harsh?” the cheerleader questioned.

“I can’t believe I was fooled by this stupid human doppelganger and the ridiculous Amity lookalike!” the boy complained.

“I stand corrected, I hate him already” the blonde girl said with a frown “Whip him harder”

Both girls spent the next ten minutes chasing the boy around, busting his attempts at teleporting or even fight back. Clara was too busy prodding his arm with a little stick when Vee took a picture and sent it to her sister:

“We took care of him, you owe us big time”

No response came, but it wasn’t like she was expecting one.

A chorus of giggles echoed throughout the forest near Camila’s place and both girls didn’t even try to shush each other.

“You’re so evil, Luz Noceda” Amity said, groaning when she felt a kiss on her neck “Using your little sister and her date for your… nefarious purposes”

“Don’t tell you don’t like it” the human replied, breaking contact for a moment.

“Oh, I absolutely love it…” the witch replied, putting her arms on the human’s back and making sure to use her fangs as much as she could “As much as Hunter must hate you for this cunning”

“He deserves it” Luz said with a tremble “Nobody can keep me away from my beautiful witch for long“

“Camila’s going to kill us after this, though” Amity managed to say, wrapping her girlfriend in a tight hug.

Instead of replying, Luz preferred to kiss her back...
