Work Text:
Her Name was Yuna.
It was a day Hyunjin didn't think he could forget. He remembers Jisung claiming he had an important announcement to make, then filing all the members into the living room. "I have a girlfriend." He'd exclaimed and no one could feel anything but happiness. There was a tad bit of pain knowing how close all eight were and Jisung somehow managed to keep a girl out of their loop, but they were happy for him nevertheless.
Hyunjin specifically remembers being happy and the proudest member. He'd managed to gain a different relationship with Jisung over the years, and thus learned a bit more than he bargained for. Hyunjin felt like he'd watched his best friend finally take flight, coming out of his timid shell that despite the boys loud volume, Jisung was an Introvert.
About a month later, Yuna had arrived to the dorm unannounced with Jisung. She seemed to have really tried, her outfit looking expensive and nicely fit to her curves, her makeup looking clean and soft, her hair thoroughly straightened with small braids on each side of her head, and the tray of cookies in her left hand. At least Felix seemed to like her upon finding out she too baked.
Jisung had reintroduced her, this time with her actually present. She gave a small bow and a smile, which looked too fake in Hyunjin's eyes, but he was just over reading. Once she'd spoken, Hyunjin slightly cringed. Her voice was oddly high and squeaky, as if she was making it sound that way herself. But he said nothing, he was just worried for his friend, that's all.
She was pretty, not even Hyunjin could deny it. But then again, she wasn't part of his standards. Even if she was, he could never do something like that to his soul mate, or anyone in general to be fair.
That night had gone smoothly, even if Hyunjin still thought she was trying too hard. They introduced themselves, talked about life or things they commonly liked. They'd enjoyed the cookies she'd made, they weren't even close to Felix's cookies if you asked Hyunjin, and order in some pizza as well. They’d ended the night with movies, and like every cliche story, Yuna had fallen asleep half-way through.
Hyunjin remembers Jisung picking the girl up like she was a feather and taking her to his room, leaving Hyunjin to discuss to himself what did he truly think of Yuna and the relationship status she and Jisung now shared.
It continued this way for another month. Yuna coming over almost everyday, even sometimes to watch over whatever schedule they had planned that day. Hyunjin would never say it out loud, but he could really do without Yuna at dance practice. Said girl, as she watched over, was constantly telling him what to do. But she was a lady, Jisungs lady at that, so Hyunjin smiled and nodded each time, doing an attempt to fix nothing because any critique she had made no sense.
Again, she was trying to hard. But again, Hyunjin would keep his mouth shut. He seemed to be the only one to think of this anyway.
————
Hyunjin never realized he enjoyed Jisungs company as much as he did until he seemed to never get time with the boy. With Yuna still constantly coming over, it was never a dull moment to find them cuddled into each other or even those scary moments when Hyunjin would find things getting steamy on the couch. He'd walk back out, removing the idea of hanging out with Jisung in an instant.
Even times when he swore she wouldn't follow, where he swore she wasn't permitted, she was there, taking his best friend away like dust in a storm. He was jealous, it was and easy fact to except. But it made Hyunjin laugh that he wasn't jealous over a girl, but in fact Jisung. His pre-debut self would be screaming at him for this, no doubt.
Jealousy had quickly been realized it was in fact hatred instead, not for Jisung of course, but the wicked witch that trailed behind him like a sheep. Hyunjin became uncomfortable around her, and it didn't help that he swore he would catch her giving him the evil eye.
Two and a half months into their first meeting with Yuna, It was a game night, the group huddled up at the table for endless rounds of Uno.
"Hey Jin?-"
First of all, who was she to think she was allowed access to such nickname?
"Don't you think you look too girly with long hair? I mean look, it's not too far from the length of my hair!" She asked with her obnoxious little laugh. The table had gone silent as they waited for Hyunjin's response. "No, I think I look good with it, and Stay likes it as well." He answered, trying to keep the angered tone to himself.
"Now that I compare you two, you do look kind of girly Jinnie." Jisung had suddenly voiced. Hyunjin had mustered up a smile to hide his pain, his eyes crinkling to keep in the water that pooled in them. He didn't need Jisung knowing his comment had hurt him, Hyunjin didn't need Jisung knowing he'd betrayed him to side with some bitch ass girl who seemed to smirk in her achievement.
Hyunjin worked up a chuckle as he curled a lock of hair around his finger, the rest of the members staring at him worryingly. Five minutes later after he'd worked out the act of being okay, "Hey guys i'm a bit tired, so think i'm going to clock out for the night." He stood from his chair, Jisung not even looking his way, too engrossed into some conversation with Yuna and Minho. The others had noticed though and either gave a small nod or a quiet 'night.'
He didn't clock out, not even close. It had been 10:45 when he'd said he would do so. Of course it was a lie, but he had hoped to fall asleep and avoid the laughter than rang throughout his ears. Instead, for a good fifteen minutes, he'd stood in the bathroom, staring at his reflection, or more specifically, his hair.
Yuna's comment was on replay in his head, and suddenly Hyunjin didn't really know how he felt about it anymore. He'd given up after tugging and pulling, and forcing it into different styles. And now, actually thinking go himself, Yuna's comment didn’t bother him. It was the fact that Jisung, instead of having his back, had hers. Jisung had never complained about his hair, always making some sort of compliment. Yet now, it made Hyunjin look Girly?
After changing into comfier clothes, he'd climbed in bed, rolling to his side and finally allowing the pent-up tears to fall. He could still here the laughter and loud conversations from outside the room. It made him realize how much he felt like an outsider now. Eight is fate, the saying he'd constantly heard. So maybe eight is fate, even if that means he wasn't part of the eight, but Yuna was.
This was only the first time he'd cried over that relationship. He'd hoped it would stay the first and only, but he had no control.
———-
Yuna had once again continued to come over for another month, but specifically, one saturday, this time the group decided on a movie marathon to celebrate their recent comeback. How was Hyunjin the only one who saw it rude that Yuna say she had the right to be there to celebrate because she 'helped with the comeback?' (News flash, trying to coach us in dance but only spitting out nonsense doesn't count as helping). Either way, Jisung gladly let her come over.
They'd decided to watch the Avengers Series and started a bit early that evening knowing how long some of the movies got. The whole group sat on the couch, and to Hyunjin's luck, he was stuck in the middle of Yuna and Jisung. He wouldn't complain about Jisung, but Yuna he for sure would—in his head.
For the last couple weeks, after the whole girly hair thing, Hyunjin had just done his best to steer clear of Yuna, and if that didn't happen, he'd at least make their conversations as short as possible. Yet still he found himself throwing fits alone in his room because he hated her so badly. He'd received glare after glare from her after only just talking to Jisung, he'd hear quiet snarky comments that somehow no one else did. To Yuna it seemed this was a game, and Hyunjin was losing no matter how much he tried not to.
"I'm gonna heat up some popcorn, any of y'all want anything?" Hyunjin announced, getting up to get said popcorn and get a break from being next to Yuna who'd done nothing but side glare him the whole time because he'd been in her way of being next to Jisung.
"I'll take a Water." Jisung requested, many more requests following in suit. Hyunjin nodded at each request, there was a reason he could hold so many things in one hand. "Here, that seems like a lot, so i’ll come help." Yuna exclaimed, getting up herself and following Hyunjin, who was now sulking, to the kitchen. He just couldn't escape could he?
It had seemed the wall dividing her from the others was just what she needed. "Jeesh, with your hair tied back like that you really do look like a girl,"
Hyunjin wasn't shocked, in fact he just ignored her rude comments and continued to make the popcorn.
"Actually, you look like a slut." That one threw him off, his eyes widening as he turned to face her at the speed of light. "I'm sorry what?" He'd growled, his eyes piercing her own.
"You heard me. You look like a slut who's tied her hair back as if she's bout to give-" Yuna cut herself off and acted it out instead, making Hyunjin internally gag, but physically roll his eyes as his hands balled into fists. "If i'm the slut who do I see getting it on on the couch every now and then?" He griped, taking a bold step forward to seem intimidating.
Except that didn't work, and Yuna only let out a little giggle, her smirk growing until it suddenly fell. "Jisung!!!" She yelled, making her tone sound as scared and upset as humanly possible. It didn't take long for Jisung to come racing into the kitchen, his eyes scanning for danger.
One second Hyunjin had looked over at Jisung and next he was looking at Yuna who was now crying?! "H-He called me a slut and said he'd use me like one just because I was trying to help him." She hiccuped and sniffled, fake tears trailing down her cheeks. Oh how fake she was, and oh how Hyunjin wished his emotions would work because it really looked like he had no excuse.
Jisung immediately stormed over to Hyunjin, and before Hyunjin could rebuttal-
Slap!
"Are you fucking kidding me Hwang?! How could you say that to her?! She was just trying to fucking help you!" Jisung once again betrayed him, that was evident enough in the sting now spreading on his cheek. Hyunjin was awestruck, his hand gently cradling his now burning cheek, and too shocked to get his emotions rolling. "Jisung she's li-"
"I don't want to fucking here it. Figure your shit out Hwang, until then, we will be leaving." Jisung grabbed Yunas wrist, carefully but firm, and led her out of the dorm. Leaving a frozen Hyunjin in the kitchen, and a crowd in the kitchen doorway. To make matters worse, it looked like his audience too had chosen a side, but it wasn't his.
Once he'd finally overcome the shock, anger set in. The popcorn packet in his hand was aggressively chucked across the room, hitting the wall with a thwack. His fist came down, slamming onto the kitchen counter. Now the tears came rolling in, and these were unstoppable. No matter how many times Hyunjin wiped them away, they just wouldn't stop. He ended up sliding down against the counter, his head in his knees, hands pulling at his hair.
His audience was long since gone, he knows they left by the slow footsteps and ashamed sighs. Hyunjin had cried a second time that night, and now he really hoped that would be the end of tears shed.
————
It wasn't, even if Yuna wasn't the cause. Instead, the anger now seeped over to Jisung as well and Hyunjin couldn't help but give them glares or put distance between them and him when possible. This went unnoticed of course because Jisung was all over Yuna, but Hyunjin didn't care. He'd lost the bother to.
After that night, the tension was almost unbearable and Hyunjin just wanted to escape each time he had to be around everyone. If they were filming he often stood by himself, talked to his mangers or to some of the employees. None of them hated him yet, mainly because they didn't know about him 'calling Yuna a slut.'
How Jisung believed such lie was ridiculous. Did he not know Hyunjin at all? Did any of them not know him? Maybe they did, but they'd chosen a side of someone the favored over the other.
During practices after their group dance work was done, he'd quickly separate himself into a different room so he could practice alone, without the stares and snarky giggles from a name doesn't need to be spoken bitch. Otherwise, he hadn't done much talking to the others. He was scared to. Hyunjin was scared her lies would out rule his truths if he tried to explain.
Like one night, after a tiresome couple hours of group practice, Hyunjin quickly grabbed his things and rushed to the room next door. He didn't want to give them a chance to say anything to him. Jeongin watched though, tired to his Hyung distancing himself. If you were to ask Jeongin, he thought Yuna was a bit suspicious. So after many thoughts and arguments in his head, he'd decided to be on Hyunjin's side. He just hadn't had the chance to voice that side.
So he followed after claiming he was 'refilling his water bottle.' Slipping into the room Hyunjin was in, Jeongin gave a sheepish smile. "Hi hyung." Hyunjin made eye contact from the mirror and couldn't help but give the younger a smile. "Shouldn't you be with the others Innie?"
"I could ask you the same thing Hyung." Jeongin fired, except with no harsh tone. Hyunjin stayed quiet, the ground suddenly becoming an interesting sight. Jeongin let out a heavy sigh before waking closer to Hyunjin. "What really happened that night?"
Hyunjin stiffened, he'd seen how serious Jeongin was in the mirror. Now with the option of telling someone, multiple thoughts ran through his head. Sure he was mad at Jisung, but Yuna made him happy! Was he willing to risk his best friends happiness? Yet at the same time, he hated Yuna with a burning passion and wanted to nothing but get rid of her. He was torn between himself, and Jisung.
"As you've heard, I called Yuna a sl-"
"No you didn't, don't lie. I want the truth Hyunjin Hyung or I can't do anything to help you." There it was, Jeongin's side of the party. And regardless of where Hyunjin was torn, Jeongin's priority was set.
Once again meeting Jeongin's eyes, it was enough for Hyunjin to spill. The tears he'd kept to himself fell and Jeongin gasped. He pulled his Hyung into a hug, comforting him till he was calm enough to tell his side of the story. He'd cried and whimpered, explaining how he'd felt betrayed, but wanted so badly for Jisung to stay happy. How he was so lost he didn't know what to do.
Jeongin just continue to rub his back and whisper comforting words. When Hyunjin had calmed down enough, Jeongin grabbed each side of his face with his hands, forcing Hyunjin to look at him, "I'm on your side Hyung, Not Hers."
Hyunjin felt extremely better. Except, "Please don't tell the others. You on my side right now is enough, I can't ruin this for him." Jeongin, after some complaints, agreed. Though he did add that if it got too bad he would be telling Chan, and there was no taking that out of the deal. Hyunjin accepted, only because he hoped it would never get that bad.
But it didn't. A week later after gaining Jeongin to his side, practice had come to an end and Hyunjin had quickly excused himself to the bathroom. He was tired, so after going pee, he stood in front of one of the sinks, rinsing his face with the cold water that came from the faucet.
"What a coincidence~" Hyunjin had jumped at the sudden female voice in the men's restroom, turning to see no other than the devil herself. What was she doing in here? The girls restroom was a couple feet down the hall, and this was no coincidence.
"What the hell are you doing in here? You know how to read signs yes?" He growled in question, turning to glare at her. She gave him what others would've seen as a sweet smile, but to him it was rotting with poison.
"Of course I know how to read signs! With that being said, your still too close to them for my comfort." Hyunjin cocked his head in question, "To them?"
She giggled, "Yes, to them. Jisung may be my boyfriend, but I hate you. And to get rid of you, I need all of them wrapped around my fingers." Hyunjin flinched at her harsh tone and words, wanting to say 'as if,' like as if his members would turn on him, but with how he felt their relationship was going, except for Jeongin of course, he felt they might just do so.
Suddenly he could hear the faint chatter outside the bathroom, the others.
"Like now." She gave one last smile before like last time, it was changed to full fear as she launched himself backwards and into the wall behind her. Grunting and crying out in pain as she hit it, falling to the floor with a thud. Hyunjin only stared at her in shock, the tears now falling down her face and she curled into a ball.
"Stay away from me!!"
He backed up, but no backing up would get him out of this. Hyunjin could hear the pounding footsteps once again, and then the rest of the group was bursting through the bathroom. "Get the fuck away from her!!" Jisung shouted, pushing Hyunjin away as if he wasn't already far enough away. He stumbled and he himself fell to the floor, his head hitting the wall behind him. For a second his vision goes black, only to slowly fade back in with a couple stars.
When he looked up, Jisung was staring down at him like Hyunjin had killed someone. He was seething, the fire blazing in his eyes as his chest rose and fell aggressively. Minho and Chan were now squatting down to Yunas level, trying to get an explanation out of her as she weeped. "He d-dragged me in h-here and s-started touching m-me! And when I tried to m-make him stop, he j-just started to h-hurt me..." She'd calmed her tears enough to pull up the sleeves of her shirt.
Bruises. How?
Jisung had turned to look at Yuna as well, and once he'd noticed the bruises, he was instantly crouched down and up in Hyunjin's face. "How.Dare.You. How dare you fucking touch her!! I tried to be patient with you, don't think I didn't see all your glares towards her. But you just kept at it!! You know what? I can't even look at you." He stormed out after mumbling about how he'd be talking to their mangers.
Hyunjin's blood ran cold and the waterworks started. But Jeongin. The only one on his side noticed and was at his side in an instant. Hyunjin's face was in the youngers hand once again. "Hyung, look at me, it's okay." He'd whispered, moving to block Hyunjin's vision from the others trying to comfort Yuna, who was still fucking crying.
"I-I didn't d-do anything, I s-swear. P-Please I didn't do a-anything, please b-believe me." Hyunjin whimpered, Jeongin's face softening. He wiped a stray tear with his thumb, "I believe you Jinnie Hyung, I promise."
It shocked Jeongin. He was in the same situation, knowing Hyunjin for so long and knowing how the boy truly was. How did Jisung not realize just by Hyunjins reaction that the pleas spat by Yuna were false. Hyunjin crying now was just more proof that the boy could never do such things.
"Why's he crying? He wasn't the one that was assaulted.” Minho had stood up and walked over upon noticing Jeongin was by Hyunjin. Chan had walked out with Yuna so Minho was free to speak his mind. Hyunjin looked up to face Minho and if Minho wasn't so mad, he would've crumbled at the sight.
"B-Because I d-didn't touch her!" Hyunjin explained, his lip quivering making his words sound jumbled. Minho scoffed, "Explain the bruises then! Some looked old too! How long have you been doing this to her?!" his voice was raising and it made the two younger before him flinch. "And why are you on his side Jeongin?" His stern look turned to meet Jeongin's.
Jeongin shrugged his shoulders, "Because i'm not blinded by lies." The hand tugging his own made him stop. "Please don't make them hate you for me." Hyunjin begged, his eyes glossy. Jeongin shook his head, "No! They're being idiots and hurting you in the process! I won't stand for it! Not after all we've gone through, not after how much i've come to love you."
Hyunjin looked down ashamed. He loved hearing Jeongin say he love him because Jeongin telling any of the others he felt that way was rare. But Hyunjin felt as if he was making the younger put himself down, as if he was dragging him down into his drama. Yet he couldn't stop him because as much as he wanted Jeongin to stay safe, Hyunjin didn't want to be alone.
Minho had angrily stormed out of the bathroom, leaving only Changbin, Seungmin and Felix to stare in shock. They were too shocked to choose a side though, and ended up quietly following soon after Minho.
"Come one Hyung, let's get you home." Jeongin carefully pulled Hyunjin to stand, the boy wobbling a bit when his vision danced and stars shone. It wore of as he reminded himself to ice the back of his head later. Grabbing his backpack from outside the bathroom, he walked hand in hand with Jeongin as they exited the building. Though the closer they got to home, Hyunjin wasn't sure he wanted to be home knowing he'd be trapped inside with people who currently hated him.
It was a comfortable silence all the way back to the dorm. Until they reached the dorm of course. They could already hear the arguing that was going on inside and Hyunjin cringed at the fact that he could hear Yuna in there too. But of course she'd be there. She was the victim of course.
Jeongin cringed too, making his hold on Hyunjin's hand tighter. He really couldn't believe Yuna had managed to tear their relationship so easily. How quickly people were to choose sides.
"Why don't we hear Hyunjins side? Because I personally think she's bluffing."
"I have to agree with Seungmin on that one. None of this sounds like something Jinnie would do."
Hyunjin's eyes shone with hope when he'd heard Felix and Seungmin stand up for him. Pushing open the dorm door, he was now ready to fix this mess the witch had made. He was going to be a night in shining armor this time instead of a prince. The door now open, everyone looked his way. Seungmin and Felix looked upset at the state Hyunjin looked to be in; puffy eyes and cried tear stains. The quickly walked over to him and pulled him into a hug.
They weren't clouded minded like the rest had become, because really who would cry after getting caught trying to sexually assault someone? In the first place, why would Hyunjin ever try to do such? "Are you okay?" Felix asked, now taking Hyunjin's free hand and giving it a tight squeeze. Hyunjin nodded and gave him a reassuring smile.
"What's he doing here?! Why would you even let him inside?!" Yuna shrieked. She'd come back from the bathroom, and acted horrified to see her 'assaulter' standing in the space she seemed hers. She cowered over to Jisung who pulled her into his own embrace, staring daggers at Hyunjin as if he were to make a move. "Don't worry baby, he won't be touching you." Jisung assured, his eyes not leaving Hyunjin's.
Chan sighed, putting his hands up to stop any further arguments. Turning to Hyunjin, "So what's your side then?" he questioned. Chan personally didn't know what side to be on. Sure he knew Hyunjin very well and was really surprised to here he'd done something to Yuna. Though at first, he'd refused to believe, It just wasn't something he could see the younger doing. But as for this time? There was evidence, and as much as Chan hated to pick the opposing side, the evidence was louder than any excuse.
"I never touched her, never. Not today, not ever." Hyunjin told them, his voice strong and bold to keep his side believable. Even if it was the truth, it needed to be believable, he needed to be believable for others to join his side.
Jisung scoffed, "Yeah because the bruises are clearly on your side." he growled, showing the bruises on Yunas arm and carefully pulling her shirt up, not too far of course, to show the bruises their too. How Yuna got bruises was beyond him. "Explain them then."
This was pissing Hyunjin off now. He forced the two holding his hands to let go as he stormed towards Jisung. "I can't because I don't fucking know how they got there. And you know Sung, for someone who's chosen his sides so quickly, you sure know nothing."
Jisung took his own step forward, the two now in each other's faces. "I know enough, i've seen enough. Do you think her screaming and crying for you to get away from her not enough? Is me walking in everytime to see he scared out of her mind while you tower over her not enough?" Before Hyunjin could speak him mind, Jeongin placed a hand on his shoulder.
"No, No Hyung it's not enough because all you have is one side, her side. All you have is accusations based off sight. You haven't seen Hyunjin Hyung break down in himself, crying and sobbing as he begs for someone to believe him. You haven't felt how he holds onto me for dear life like i'm going to leave him at some point. And you haven't heard this." Jeongin took Hyunjin's phone from the boys back pocket, unlocking it because his hyung was so nice to allow him knowledge of the password.
Once the phone is unlocked, Jeongin's hitting the stop button on a audio recording. He looks up and grins at Yuna, "Lets listen shall we?"
————
As Jeongin and Hyunjin had finished their practice that day, Jeongin had suggested a selfie for stay, to show 'how hard they were working for stays.' Of course Hyunjin agreed, he loved giving gifts for stays. Seeing how they reacted to each of his posts, he considered them gifts and was always excited to tell them he was about to give them one on bubble.
So he'd taken out his phone and handed it to the younger of the two he had exclaimed he wanted to be in the front. Who was Hyunjin to say no to Jeongin? He was a sucker for the younger. They'd posed in front of the mirror, making little poses with their hands and going back and forth from a silly face to a cute one.
Once they'd gotten their happy fulfill of selfies, Hyunjin left Jeongin, who he'd supposed was sliding through each selfie to make sure they looked good, to turn off the music stereo. Unbeknownst to him, Jeongin did take a look at the selfies, sending some to his phone, but also pulled up the audio recorder app on Hyunjin's phone.
Hyunjin almost always used the bathroom after dancing. It was like after he stopped moving all the water he'd drank suddenly rushed to his bladder. And knowing, hoping, that Yuna was a snake, she could make a move. Or if not then, then sometime later and the audio would catch it.
So he clicked start and turned the phone off, happily retuning the phone to Hyunjin who just slid it into his back pocket.
So when Hyunjin did use the bathroom, Jeongin saw Yuna follow not long after and hoped to god his plan would work.
————
The water running out of the faucet was heard along with Hyunjin's movement as the room went silent to listen to the recording.
"What a coincidence~"
The female voice in the men's restroom already threw every male off. Each of the ones who believed Yuna had already crossed off their belief of Hyunjin taking Yuna to the men's restroom to assault her.
"What the hell are you doing in here? You know how to read signs yes?"
Hyunjin watched the expressions, trying his best to read them. Most were shocked, but it was hard to get what else they were seeing through that expression.
"Of course I know how to read signs! With that being said, your still too close to them for my comfort."
"To them?"
They heard Yuna giggle, and it no longer sounded sweet and innocent.
"Yes, to them. Jisung may be my boyfriend, but I hate you. And to get rid of you, I need all of them wrapped around my fingers."
Hyunjin watched all the heads turn Yuna's way, and if he thought the anger he'd faced was bad, oh how if felt like the temperature was increasing due to anger.
"Like now."
Everyone listened to Yuna chuck herself into the wall, this time though, they didn't feel bad because now they knew that it was a lie all along.
Jeongin pressed stop on the recording once he was satisfied. "Do you want to change sides yet?" He question, mainly directed to Jisung, but also to anyone who hadn't changed yet. Whilst Hyunjin stood in shock. He'd never been so thankful for the smart thinking Maknae. He also wanted to laugh so badly because the pure terror on Yuna's face was the best thing he'd seen in ages. But the scene was too serious to burst out into a fit of his own giggles.
Jisung could only turn to face his girlfriend in silence. His face deceased of emotion, "Leave."
"But Jisung i swear he-"
"I said fucking leave, and we're done anyway so don't even try to come back." He was harsh with his words but she deserved it. The fake sadness and fear she was promoting was gone. Huffing, she stomped her way to the door, flipping everyone off as left, slamming the door closed. Now it was silent, and it was horrible. Sure, Hyunjin had finally won his battle after a long couple of months, but now he knew the others had a lot on their mind and quite frankly, he wasn't in the mood.
So before anyone could say anything; "My god, finally good riddance. Someone order a fucking pizza." Slipping off his shoes aggressively he sauntered off into the living room where he plopped down on the couch. After how the evening had gone, no one was going to deny his request for pizza, nor were they going to question him when his mood seemed sour.
He was just tired—incredibly tired and feeling free—but emotionally and physically exhausted.
————
That night had ended in Hyunjin's favor. No one really did make a move to talk about what had happened, which he was ever so thankful for. Instead, it felt normal. They'd watched both the newest Spider-Mans—the Tom Holland ones—while chowing down on six boxes of pizza. The couch was littered with pillows, blankets and entangled limbs but who was anyone to complain.
The next day though was when Hyunjin found himself in a room alone with Jisung who looked like a kicked puppy. Hyunjin had been sitting in front of a canvas, painting away his emotions when Jisung had come in. He tried so hard to make it non awkward but typical Jisung, he failed.
"So uh—whatcha painting?"
"A flower."
Jisung pouted at the short response. But he was more frustrated with everything he felt he needed to get off his chest. So with a heavy sigh, he pulled a chair over and sat next to Hyunjin, watching the boys brush stroke up and down. "I'm sorry."
The brush stopped mid stroke, and it was Hyunjin's turn to sigh. "I really should've listened, it went too far and i will gladly take blame." Jisung had continued, really wanting to make sure he hadn't lost his best friend.
Hyunjin placed the brush down along with the paint pallet at he turned to face Jisung. "I won't lie to you 'Sung, you not believing me hurt like shit."
"Top ten worst anime betrayals-"
"Jisung—my god, I really can't with you." This sent both of them into positions of holding their stomachs. So Hyunjin laughed, oh did he laugh. And it felt so good to. He didn't feel like he had to have his guard up because Yuna would be lurking somewhere. He didn't feel like Jisung was going to kill him for the lies he'd been fed.
"I really am sorry, I don't know what came over me. I guess I was just so happy to have met what I thought was that special someone. I got so caught up in being there for her, making her happy, that I didn't bat an eye when she would say she was hurt. Not even caring if it was you who'd supposedly hurt her. I really should've remembered my own pedestals, realize that you and the others were always higher on them than she was." The happy go lucky Jisung was gone at that moment. Instead, he was serious and sincere after a lot of time to think to himself last night.
He'd realized that he did see some different perspectives of the story. He realized he did see Hyunjin cry but guessed it was because the boy was scared that he'd been caught. Yet when he'd replayed those scenes in his head, the tears Hyunjin had shed weren't for fear of being caught, but instead was pain of betrayal.
"Jisun-"
"Please don't tell me that it's okay, that you understand the reasoning for my motives. Come on Jin, the one time you can be right, please just take it and let me do what I can to make up for it, to prove that it won't happen again." Hyunjin had snickered at Jisungs small attempts to lure him in (For the record, Jisung wasn't always right but Hyunjin would let him have his moment).
Hyunjin playfully huffed, crossing his arms like he was some child, "Fine. I accept your apology but! But! You must give me cuddles when I demand them and I want five packs of marshmallows next time you go to the store."
Jisung giggled, not quite expecting the apology with such terms, but he'd take it, seeing as Hyunjin had forgiven him enough to play around and put unlimited cuddles as part of his requirements. "Deal."
They'd shaken on it too, and then Jisung had immediately went to the store, not only to get the needed packs of marshmallows, but other snacks too. He and Hyunjin were going to alone in the dorm for most of the day, so he'd planned to use every ounce of that time to get on Hyunjin's good side—even if Hyunjin swore he was already on it.

"Do you think they killed each other?" Minho asked as he and the others made their way to the dorm. Chan and Changbin had needed to do something in the studio while Minho had taken Seungmin, Jeongin and Felix to do some dance touch ups.
"Maybe, they seemed fine around us but you never know with those two." Felix voiced as he impatiently stood behind Chan who seemed to be taking forever in unlocking the door. Felix was hungry and one of his brownies sounded really good, but he needed to get in the dorm first.
"Then let's just hope neither of them are dead and the dorm isn't torn to shreds." Chan spoke with little hope as he finally unlocked the door.
Oddly enough it was quiet, well except for the Tv still playing whatever movie it had been left on. Now curious and partially worried, the group walked into the living room to an adorable sight that none really expected after the recent events. Nevertheless, it was cute and a Chan couldn't help but take a quick photo, Minho doing the same but for blackmail purposes.
Snacks and drinks were scattered on the table in front of the couch while Jisung and Hyunjin were both bundled together on said couch. Jisung laying flat on his back while Hyunjin lay next to him, half his body thrown over the other boy while his head lay on Jisungs chest. Multiple blankets had covered them, wrapping them like burritos. What made it all so much cuter was that one of Jisungs arms was protectively wrapped around Hyunjin, and then Hyunjin had one of his hands clutching Jisungs chest, not allowing any escape.
The soft snores that the group could hear was clear enough that the two were definitely gone for the night. So being the dad he was, Chan shooed the others off to get ready for bed while he turned off the Tv and the living room lights. Then smiled once again at the sight, not only because it was fucking adorable, but because the dorm had lived to see another day.
