"I have some concerns," Iruka looked at himself in the mirror, his arms out at his sides. His nose was scrunched in disgust as he turned to Kakashi who was definitely not staring at Iruka's butt in the new uniform.
"Hmm?" Kakashi met Iruka's unimpressed face, "what sort of concerns?"
"It just feels- wrong."
Kakashi huffed a laugh. "It's going to feel wrong, Love. You're not used to it."
Iruka shook his head, his nose scrunching again. "I feel exposed." Iruka turned from one side to the other, "and fat. Am I getting squishy?" He poked his side and sighed.
"Would it be a bad thing if you were?" Kakashi asked as he came up beside him. Placing an arm on Iruka's waist and turning him so they faced each other.
Iruka shrugged and tried to look again in the mirror but Kakashi caught his chin forcing him to look him in the eye.
"I like squishy. It gives me more to love. And I get to use you as my own personal pillow."
"Gee thanks."
"It's a compliment."
"Didn't feel like one." Iruka frowned.
"It's not a bad thing to be soft Iruka. In any way."
"I know. I just,," Iruka huffed, '' I feel old."
"You are old."
Iruka smacked him. And Kakashi laughed quietly. A smile across his unmasked face.
"Besides. Those new pants are doing wonders for your ass."
Iruka smacked Kakashi again as his hand wandered.
"You're unbelievable. The worst. Unbearable." Iruka grinned.
Kakashi pulled Iruka closer, "Is that anyway to talk to your Hokage?"
"No. But my husband on the other hand,"
Iruka pulled Kakashi into a kiss humming with contentment.
Later, Iruka would reluctantly agree that Kakashi had been right.
The new uniform was great. It covered all the vital areas with a much tougher quality fabric that was light enough that it allowed for more dexterity when fighting.
And as he watched Kakashi walk down the hallway in it, he found he had a new appreciation for the pants.
