“Woah he just disappeared into thin air,” Gen marveled.
“You think he’d miss the car if we went down to the Asian market? I’ve been craving salmon sashimi,” Stan asked.
“While we’re down there let’s get some nuclear ramen just to torture him when he gets back,”
“Both of you… I know you can see me,” Xeno said through his teeth.
“I’ll get his credit card!” Gen called.
Gen rushed up the stairs to Xeno’s room to get Xeno’s wallet.
“Gen why you little! Get back here!” Xeno chased after him.
“Run kid run!” Stan playfully shouted.
Gen reaches the top step and turns to run to Xeno and Stan’s room before Xeno stops him by grabbing Gen’s arm.
“Gen Lee Synder,” Xeno glared at his son.
“Hey let go,” Gen continued to playfully annoy his adopted father.
Xeno sighed. Patience Xeno. Patience. Xeno, let go of Gen’s arm. “We can go to the Asian market after someone changes from his all black get up,” Xeno looked at his husband.
“Yeah yeah Xe,” Stan rolled his eyes. “Did you leave my clothes where they were?” Stan asked, coming up the stairs too.
“No, I organized them,” Xeno replied. “They were all over the floor,”
“Of course you did,” Stan sighed as he headed to their room.
“He only does that because sometimes he wears your clo-,” Gen started.
“How about you wait in the car,” Xeno cut off Gen.
“Too embarrassed old man?” Gen smirked.
“Car, Gen,”
With an evil smirk, Gen did as he was told to do. Xeno pinched the bridge of his nose. As much as he loved Gen, somedays Xeno was sure he’d be the death of him.
“Ohh what was the kid going to say?” Stan grinned. “Something about wearing my clothes?”
“Some nonsense,’ Xeno waved off Stan’s question.
“Sure love,” Stan kissed the top of Xeno’s head. “I’ll be out in a bit. Make sure Gen hasn’t taken the car,”
“That kid,” Xeno sighed, but his smile gave away how he really felt. “Like another kid, I used to know,”
“Shut it Xe,” Stan called from the bedroom.
Xeno felt a small pull on his lips. Xeno grabbed his wallet and went back down the stairs to the garage to wait in the driver’s seat for Stan.
“You two are so xrtr eay,” Gen sang,
Gen had started to adopt a weird way of speaking. He called it “pig Latin”. It was hard to understand at first but Xeno was starting to get used to it.
“It has been a while since I’ve seen him and he’s my husband after all,” Xeno pointed out.
“Yeah yeah, I got it. Still, get a room,” Gen teased.
Xeno playfully sighed. “Maybe you would like to sleep outside Gen,”
“You won’t dareee,” Gen pushed.
“Try me, kid,” Xeno grinned.
Stan came into the garage and joined the two in the car. “Glad to see you aren’t at each other's throats,” Stan jokes, as he buckled his seatbelt.
“Besides Xeno threatening me to sleep outside,” Gen ratted out.
“Wowwwww, How evil Xeno. Kicking the kid outside to sleep?” Stan joined in on teasing Xeno. “How cruel,”
“I don’t have to drive you two,” Xeno reminded them.
“Awww come on Xe. We’re just teasing you,” Stan nudged his husband.
“Yeah come one Xeno, don’t be like that,” Gen whined. “You know you love us,”
Xeno took a second but caved in. “Fine, but only because we’ve run out of shrimp chip,”
“Woohoo!” Gen cheered.
.
.
.
“Gen… we’re not getting more Ramune,” Xeno sighed.
“Whatttt? We only got 3,” Gen pointed out.
“3 is plenty Gen,” Stan heard Xeno and Gen bicker as he was picking out which sashimi he wanted.
Gen and Xeno were always like this. Not that Stan minded. They were always playful and when they weren’t you could always tell how close both of them were.
“Hmmmmmm fine but can we get Mochi?” Gen bargained.
“Green tea,” Xeno compromises with the younger.
“Deal!” Gen agreed and went ahead to get the pre-packaged Mochi in the frozen part of the store.
Stan put his sashimi in his cart and joined Xeno by his side. You two seem to be having fun,”
“I worry I may have spoiled him,” Xeno half jokingly confessed.
“Give him time. He’s still getting used to being able to get food he wants,” Stan reminded Xeno.
“I guess you’re right,”
“Hey don’t worry about it Xe,” Stan put his arm over Xeno’s shoulders. “You’re doing great raising the kid,”
“You think? I’m always worried about that,” Xeno admitted.
“Well he hasn’t shot down a football yet has he?” Stan teased.
“I guess not,” Xeno grinned.
“So I think you’re doing a pretty good job considering,” Stan comforted.
“Thank you, but you’ve helped too,” Xeno reminded.
“I know, that’s why he always talks back,” Stan joked.
“Yeah, that does seem like something you would do,” Xeno teased. “Like I needed two Stan’s in the house,”
“Sure love,” Stan kissed Xeno’s forehead.
“Ok maybe sleeping outside isn’t so bad after all-,” Gen broke the tender moment. Both Stan and Xeno froze out of embarrassment. “You’re both good dads, now come on let go,”
“Aww what are you jealous Gen?” Stan teased. “Don’t worry, you’ll find someone soon,”
“And I’ll be damned if they are as affectionate as you two,” Gen scoffed.
“Whatever you say kid,” Stan shrugged.
