“What, no hello?” Matt asked, leaning casually against the wall like the fact that he had just turned up at her apartment in the dark, after over two years since he’d ‘died’ with no word from him, was just a normal thing.
“I could punch you in the throat?” Jessica suggested, raising her eyebrow at him in challenge.
He did that little helpless smile she remembered him doing when she was angry at him. She hated that she still remembered the differences between his smiles. “You could. It wouldn’t be very nice.”
“You died, Murdock, and then you came back and you didn’t even call. I think we’re past being nice.”
Matt shows up in Jessica's office for the first time since he died, with a case in hand. They quickly realise they're up against something big, and it might take more than just the two of them to take the operation down.
