Chapter Text
Sunstorm had absolutely no reason to feel the jealously that was curling low under his spark. He had no reason to feel jealous over Misfire having found a ragtag clade (it would only be calling himself a hypocrite when he had a clade outside of Misfire). And it was absolutely no reason to feel jealous over watching his trinemate try to court another.
Courting was not what Sunstorm was good at. His radiation kept many away and he always thought of Misfire if he ever looked at potential thirds. Not a single one that caught his optic had been good enough or matched what he remembered of Misfire. The barely-there bond between them had thankfully been renewed stronger after they met again, and Misfire had taken it all in stride.
What Sunstorm didn’t realize was that Misfire’s optic had been caught by a potential third. One that, just from watching them, meant more than a quick fling. No, Misfire wanted to keep this one. Sunstorm hadn’t fully met the bot painted with the colors of fire, but he was already unsure if they were a good choice for them both. What was learned and engraved into his processor was hard to unlearn after so many millennials of war and what happened to Vos when they were both still young.
Opinions on ground frames were definitely one of those things.
And this mech that Misfire seemed so interested in courting for them? A grounder.
Oh sure that spoiler was large enough that it almost looked like wings sweeping over those shoulders, but the tires on the fire-colored mech’s arms gave away his altmode with ease. Sunstorm took a deep invent, releasing it slowly, the curling of radiation invisible with optics on normal setting, but Sunstorm could see the heat curling together as it changed between green and yellow as if it was trying to burn the very air around it.
He would give this mech a trial run just as he was taught in his early years. The true test would be how well that flame-colored mech could withstand his radiation.
