The Strawhats watched their captain roll around the grass, groaning and whining because he’s the only one who doesn’t have any kind of gift for Law's birthday. They only have one more island to stop at before they get to the rendezvous island.
Law usually doesn’t celebrate his birthday outside of his crew but ever since Luffy was crowned King of the Pirates, the younger had too much time in his hands to go search for the hearts just to party. On one occasion they came just right in the moment that the Hearts are drinking on deck, celebrating their captain’s birthday on a lazy afternoon. Starting from that point they do it intentionally to the point that Law just gave up and let the navigators set a rendezvous point rather than getting hunted by a too enthusiastic monkey.
“Luffy, is there really nothing you know that Torao would like?” Nami asked. He stopped on his rolling and sat up with a pout.
“I know what Torao likes. But I don’t want to just buy the first thing that comes up. I want it to be special!”
“Then you should’ve thought about it thoroughly way before the last week.” She shook her head.
Luffy have thought about it for weeks now, the perfect gift just doesn’t come up. And he want it extra special because this is Law’s first birthday where they’re actually dating.

Luffy strolled around. Law likes fluffy soft things and Onigiri. He also likes those thick books that Chopper and Robin are giving him as gifts.
Maybe he should buy him those fluffy collared clothes? Or something like that hat he bought on their first date.
“Aaahhh!! This is hard!!”
Something shiny caught his eye and stopped in front of a shop. He peeked through the glass window, squinting to get a better look on it. He then remembered something that Law talked about.
“.......When I was a kid, my sister would help me do that....”
He entered the shop in an instant then went to the counter right away. Startling the guy behind the counter when he slammed his hands down.
The worker looked at him with wide eyes, mouth faling slack. “Mu-mu-mugiwara no Luffy!?!?” The man excalimed.
“Ossan! Do you sell that one on display!?” He said pointing at the box in front.
“Huh? Wha-?”
Luffy huffed, stretching his hand and grabbing the said box containing what caught his eye. “This!”
The clerk looked at the box. “Oh, this...” He looked at Luffy, more composed than earlier. “A-are you sure? I’m not sure if you know but this is an antique shop. I’m sure the Pirate King would like something better than all these items.” He said.
Luffy shook his head. “No! I want this! Torao likes this and hiss birthday is next week!”
“Torao?” The man blurted out.
He snickerd. “Shishishi yeah Torao! My boyfriend!! So how much?”
“10,000.... I can lower it if you want! Uhm uh, 7,000!” He panicked in the last bit.
Luffy grinned. “Really? Thanks!
The clerk got to work and even placed it in a nice black box wrapped with yellow ribbon wrapped around it. Luffy thanked him profusely and vise versa. The clerk telling him that he can come back anytime.
Luffy came back with a victorious grin.

Luffy hopped on one foot to another. Excited to see Law’s reaction to his gift.
They docked and Luffy was out of the ship the second right after. Not waiting and straight up rocketing towards the island. A little bit far off the beach, just by the tree line, there Law stood there. The rubber captain landed right in front of Law and immediately jumped him. Looping his arms around the other captain. “Torao!! Happy Birthday!!!”
“Luffy-ya, you’re squeezing tight.” He grunted. Luffy snickered, stealing a quick peck on the lips before pulling back his arm.
The rest of the strawhats approached them a minute later then Law led them towards the cave where the polar tang is hidden.

Law and Luffy sat at the cliff at the top of the cave both have their own tankard filled with booze that the surgeon would for sure be drinking for himself since the latter doesn’t handle alcohol well. Luffy sat at Law’s lap, resting his back on his front as they enjoy the view of the starry night sky.
“Neh Torao. My gift.” He said, plucking it off the ground. “Open it now! I’m sure you’ll like it.”
Law smiled as he took it in his hand. He pulled the ribbon off then took the top off. Inside is a soft black rectangular velvet box. He popped it open and he can feel the surprise turn into joy. He touched it, tracing the lines on each piece of coin.
“Where’d you found this? He asked.
“The old man said it was an antique shop. Shishishi! You said you collect coins and it also looked cool.”
Law held up one, flipping it around. “Yeah, my sister and I love collecting coins. I’m glad you remembered that.” He placed the coin back.
He tilted Luffy’s head back then leaned down. Pressing a soft kiss on his lips then to his forehead. “ Thank you much, I love it. I love you...”
Luffy giggled. “I love you too!”

The next day, news would get out that the Pirate King is on a relationship with a man named Torao.
