“I miss working with you too… I miss a lot of things.” More things than Kyle thought he would. “Maybe that’s why I ended up watching the previews this morning.” Because the truth is that a big part of him didn't really want to.
“You did?” Levi is surprised because he thought they’d wait until 3.01 came out.
“Yeah, I was bored and I’m curious because you won’t tell me anything…”
“What?" Levi raises his eyebrows. "I’ve told you a lot of things…”
“Okay, maybe I wanted to see the new cast,” Kyle admits.
Levi is pretty sure what he means is that he wanted to see Yoon Won, the actor who most people consider his substitute on the show and which is not totally fair because they are such different characters.
“Or maybe you just wanted to see Yoon?”
Kyle licks his lips, shaking his head.
“He’s really good-looking,” Kyle finally says matter-of-factly.
“Yeah, well, he’s even hotter in person,” Levi nods, because that’s the truth, Yoon is also a model and as much as the camera loves him, it doesn’t really do him justice.
“He’s taller than I thought,” because he’s not as tall as Levi but there’s not a big difference… the guy must be at least 1.80(*).
“Remember when you asked me and I told you he was taller than you?” Levi raises his eyebrows. “I also told you he was an idol before he started acting in dramas.” So, of course, the guy can sing and dance really well, apart from also playing the piano, but he is such a humble person that you’d never guess how popular he is not only in South Korea but also in many other countries.
"I guess he's good at everything," Kyle whispers.
“This is his first work in the States and I know this role is a big deal for him. He’s acting in another language, playing a gay role, and on top of that, he knows he has to win over your fans and the fans of the show…” Levi certainly doesn’t envy him.
“But I have to say,” Levi continues, “he knew what he was getting into and I think his work is amazing… plus, he’s also doing a great job with the press.” No doubt, the long experience he’s got really shows all the time.
“Really?” If there’s something Kyle doesn’t miss is doing all the interviews that TV series and films bring with them.
“Yeah,” Levi nods. “He’s really modest… He’s always saying how honored he’s been to join the cast… He’s very sweet.”
Sweet? Kyle was already curious but now he really wants to watch some of those interviews on YouTube.
There’s something else Kyle has been meaning to ask but he hasn’t because he knows it might sound kind of childish and he’s also been avoiding talking about the new season for different reasons… two of them being that Levi was not allowed to talk about it that much and he was also trying to move forward and focus on his new path.
“And what's he like? I mean... you know... is he a good kisser?” Kyle asks as casually as possible.
Levi snorts, raising his eyebrows. “Seriously?” It's not that he's surprised about Kyle possibly ever being jealous but being jealous of someone like Joon really feels even more senseless.
“Just curious… you know…” Kyle shrugs.
“I thought you’d rather wait to watch the show,” Levi smirks.
“Well, yeah, but I think I can live with this spoiler,” Kyle nods.
Levi can’t help but laugh briefly because Kyle looks really cute and he’s having too much fun with the turn of this conversation.
“Fine, he is a good kisser," Levi nods, "very good, actually—Happy now?”
This is what happens when you ask Levi anything... he never lies or sugarcoats the truth and usually, Kyle loves that about him but maybe right now he could have made an exception.
“He’s also fucking straight.” Levi is pretty sure that that detail must be something that Kyle has not forgotten but it feels like he should repeat it, just in case it matters to hear it again.
“I know,” Kyle nods, raising his eyebrows.
Levi holds Kyle’s hands with his own and brings them slowly to his lips, kissing them.
“As great as he is, and no matter how much chemistry we’ve got… he’s not you,” Levi says looking directly at Kyle’s eyes. “He could never replace you because there’s no one like you on this planet. No one, okay?”
And there it is, Levi's usual convo of unfiltered love and honesty going straight through Kyle's heart without warning.
“That was really cheesy,” Kyle says, smiling because he likes to tease Levi when he says things like that.
“Maybe… but it was also really true,” and that is also some of those things that Levi says all the time… That’s just how he is and Kyle not-so-secretly loves that about him.
Kyle smiles, shaking his head.
For sure, there's no one else like Levi in this world either.
