Summary
It has been 16 years since Madame Lan and Qingheng-Jun have passed, and yet years later Lan Qiren, Xichen, and Wangji find themselves still mourning their loss. However, there may be more to their deaths than what Wangji and Xichen had dared to ponder.
For the first time, Xichen finds himself alone without Wangji during the yearly Week of Mourning dedicated to his parents. He is forced into facing shadows he desired not to face before. In the end, it drives not only himself but Wangji into territories they never dared to plunge.
