A door creeked open and Wilbur glanced back to see Sally, “Hello lov-“ he paused at seeing her body shaking, eyes puffy like she’d just been crying, “What’s wrong?!?” He stood up and rushed to her. His hands hovering over her worriedly.
She smiled something shaky and genuine as she breathed, “Wil...”
Wilbur looked at her with concern.
“I’m... I’m pregnant.”
It took a moment for the words to register.
Suddenly Sally was lifted into the air, Wilbur spinning them around as they both laughed.
Eventually Wilbur stopped and set her down, a wide smile on his face as tears tracked down it.
“I’m... I’m going to be a dad?” Wilbur asked with excited eyes.
She smiled back and cupped his cheek, “You’re going to be the best father in the world.”
