Hot Chocolate

Summary:

Ahsoka and the clones try hot chocolate and Rex must deal with the consequences

Notes:

So I'm already at day 6 with this, so I should stay ahead of it nicely, here's hoping I haven't jinxed myself.
Anyway, I've been completely stuck with 'We were almost meant to say goodbye' so let's hope that my brain decides to start working soon enough.
Anyway, enjoy, it is what it says on the tin, clone/family fluff😁

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

"It doesn't look very good."

Ahsoka rolled her eyes, spinning around to face Fives, giving him a lengthy glare.

"You haven't even tried it yet," She pointed at him. "Just you wait, you'll be eating your words."

"Here's hoping," He leaned closer to try and get a whiff of it's sweet scent. "It smells a hell of a lot better than it looks, where did you say you and the General picked it up from?" Fives asked her.

"Naboo," Ahsoka shrugged. "It's supposed to be some kind of delicacy over there."

Fives gave Echo a suspicious look over Ahsoka's head, hoping that the young Commander wouldn't catch onto his reservations regarding the drink she had been cooking up.

"What's that smell?" A head identical to Fives and Echo popped around the corner, the only distinction in appearance being the facial tattoo.

"The Commander found a powder on Naboo and she wants us to drink it," Fives filled in with a distrustful look at the liquid in the pot.

"You don't have to drink it, Fives," Ahsoka spun away from the pot to direct a gloating smile at him. "More for us that way."

"I didn't say that I wouldn't drink it," Fives immediately began to backtrack, much to everyone else's amusement.

"That's what I thought," Ahsoka grinned in triumph.

"Ouch!"

A short lived triumph.

She spun back around to find Hardcase standing there with a grimace on his face and a spoon in his hand.

"Hardcase!" She huffed, snatching the spoon out of his hand. "Why would you do that, it's way too hot right now, you'll burn your tongue off."

"But it smelt nice," He whined. "And it tasted nice too."

"Yeah, when you subtract the tongue blisters," Jesse chimed in from across the room where he'd been sitting in relative silence, cleaning his vambraces while he waited for the sweet smelling concoction to be done.

"I don't have blisters," Hardcase glared at him. "Dik'kut," He mumbled under his breath.

"What was that?" Jesse snapped his head up from his vambrace with an eyebrow lifted in challenge, daring Hardcase to repeat himself.

"Nevermind," Hardcase muttered as he averted his eyes, approaching Echo with a look of confusion. "What's his problem?" He whispered under his breath.

"He did the same thing as you about five minutes," Echo supplied the answer just as quietly. "He's been pretty whiney about it since, just moping in the corner after Fives made fun of him for squealing like a little-"

"I didn't squeal!" Jesse bit back from across the room. "And I'm not moping, I just noticed that my armour could use a clean, I figured now would be as good a time as any."

"Sure you did, Hardcase" Fives smirked from across the room.

"Shut up, Fives," Echo admonished him tiredly.

"All of you need to shut up," Ahsoka laughed at them. "And drink up," She set a tray of mugs down on the table in front of her. "I made sure to add a little bantha milk to cool it down so Jesse and Hardcase don't go burning themselves again."

Hardcase smiled happily at the consideration of his Commander. Jesse just pouted, but he was thankful all the same, it had been quite painful last time.

"Oh," Ahsoka pointed a finger in the air as if she'd just remembered something. "And there's this," Rushing across the room she returned with a can clutched in her hand.

"What's that?" Fives tilted his head at it.

"A secret ingredient," Ahsoka grinned, proceeding to decorate each of the mugs with a swirl of blue whipped cream.

"Isn't that the stuff that the General's always eating straight out of the can?" Echo asked hesitantly with a fearful look in his eyes. "The stuff that made his throw up."

"That was one time," Ahsoka reminded him. "And he had way too much of it."

"I don't know," He tilted his head to the side. "Are you sure?"

"For kriff sake, Echo," Fives laughed, rolling his eyes and picking up two mugs, handing one off to his fearful brother. "It's just a drink."

"Yeah, b-"

"Wow!" Hardcase looked up with excitement alight in his eyes, a blue mustache coating his face. "It tastes just like uja."

"Really?" Echo raised an eyebrow at this, intrigued and more than ready to try it.

Hardcase nodded in response.

Echo looked down at the slowly melting swirl of blue.

"Alright then," He shrugged. "Bottoms up boys."

Rex didn't exactly know what he expected to find, or what he wanted to find when he sought out Ahsoka that day.

This was neither.

Jesse and Echo lay slumped on the couches, completely dead to the world. Fives lay on the floor next to them, curled up in a ball and clutching his stomach. Hardcase was hunched over in the corner with his head shoved inside a waste basket, groaning in agony. Ahsoka herself was laying in the middle of the room, sprawled across the floor with a frown on her face, peaking up at the ceiling through cracked eyelids.

"What happened here?" Rex asked with mild horror, he wasn't exactly sure that he wanted to know the answer.

He got the sound of Hardcase vomiting in response.

"We might have had too much sugar," Ahsoka moaned from the floor, rolling onto her side and curling up into the same position as Fives.

"How much?" Rex exclaimed, lost as to how they could all end up like this from sugar alone.

"A lot," Fives groaned. "It just tasted so good."

"It definitely doesn't taste good when it comes back up," Hardcase lifted his sickly green head from the basket just to glare at his brother.

Rex took another glance around the room when his eyes finally fell on a suspicious pile of cans on the counter. Approaching the stash, Rex picked one up to inspect it.

"You didn't really eat all of these did you?" Rex asked them over his shoulder.

"What do you think?" Ahsoka retorted sarcastically.

"I think you five shouldn't be left without supervision for this long ever again," Rex responded.

"You might be onto something there," Jesse mumbled sleepily from his spot on the couch, awoken by the conversation around him.

"I know," Rex wrinkled his nose at the overwhelming sweetness in the air. "I'm comming Kix, you can all have fun explaining this to him, I have a feeling he won't be very happy."

A series of groans and protests rang out, accompanied by the sound of Hardcase violently puking.

Rex felt bad about it, but he couldn't help but smile.

He had a feeling they wouldn't be touching that stuff for a long time.
